The most recent update on the site adds an extra step to the bra transfers.

What are bra transfers

In case you're new to the site, Bra transfers were introduced to the site in 2012 as a way to make the site aware that you are transferring one of your listed bras to another user.

When you close a listing you can indicate to which Bratabase user you are sending this bra to. This will notify the other user that you sealed the deal with her and will add the bra automatically to her bras when she accepts your transfer the day she receives it.

Additionally, it allows you to keep better track of your selling and buying history on the site, since you will have available an incoming and outgoing list of listings, because keeping track via private messages is impossible.

What's new

The new addition is an extra step. It may seem like a bit more work but bear with me.

We've had a number of situations where verbal agreement of a closed listing is held via private messages, and then there is little to no communication later as when was the bra actually sent to the post office. Caring users would PM you back telling you when they sent it and indicate their tracking code in case there was any.

Now, when you close a listing, it will be in a "Pending shipment" state until you, as a seller, come back to it and mark it as shipped. This has a few benefits:

  • It acts as a more visible reminder that you have to go to the post office and mail those bras.
  • Will avoid confusions and excuses in shipping times as whether it took one month to go to the post office or one extra month traveling across.
  • There is now a "Transfers summary" page that will show you which transfers you are expected to take action on. Be it to ship or to mark as received.
  • When marking your transfer as shipped, you can optionally attach the tracking code and a scan/photo of the receipt as well as a picture or two of the package. This will be easily and historically available to you so you don't have to swim through private messages looking for old packages that are not received yet.
