This is...not good. I only tried this on because I was in Nordstrom Rack and spotted it for sale. I have never tried the wireless model and I wanted to see how it fit. I had a ton of bounce, but that's not really surprising given that it's at least 1 cup size too small. It really is a nicely made bra, just not a good fit. Other than it being too small, I don't think that the non-wired look is for me https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Like the wired version, I think this is just incompatible with my shape. I bought this to teach and practice yoga in (in public -- in private i wear no bra or cotton 'sports' bras). It does the job OK. The cup doesn't cover enough side/armpit boob, and the wings are not deep enough in that area. At the same time there is extra room at the top of the cup, so if i were really trying to get a lot of support (i'm not) I def wouldn't be able to. When I first put this on it looks good, but like all wireless bras except enell, my ... boobs eventually win and sag down. The racerback hook provides more lift, but at the expense of my neck and shoulders. This is definitely a lot less support than the wired bra.

What i like: that the molded cup gives me psychological support because I know my boobs are well covered. It's pretty cute. It's comfy.

The band is too big, but that's my fault for getting a 38 i guess. That said i wear a 38 in all other Panache, incl the wired sports bra, so go figure.

update a year later: even though this bra is a technically pretty bad fit, I wear it alllllll the time, as it gives a far better shape than any other wireless I've tried. Glad I got a 38 now as I've gained weight and the band fits perfectly.

    • Thanks for the thoughts on sports bras. I'm looking for one right now. I've been debating whether to go for an underwire, but I don't trust that the wires will be comfortable when I'm twisting my torso, raising my arms, etc. I'm just now getting used to wearing underwires again, for daily wear, now that I'm honing in on my correct size. Maybe later.

    • I like Enell the best for very very high support, and it has no wires. They also make a 'lite' version that i'd love to try for yoga.

but wired sports bras can be great. the elomi energise is a really good one.

Very comfy and almost no bounce. Band is perfect. Have a weird crease in the bottom of the cups and I can kinda feel the bottom of the cups collapsing when wearing, but not enough to bother me. I wonder if it is due to lack of immediate projection or because I have such a high prominent tummy..

    • I had the same weird crease but am projected. Go figure. Had better luck with wired version

    • I figured it was due to lack of projection, I'm projected too. At least I need lots of immediate projection...My profile may say shallow from when I was first discovering my shape. Do you wear the same size in the wired version?

  4. Non Wired Sports Bra (7341)

At this point, I feel like either of the Panache sports bras can, in no way, live up to the reputation they've gained online. I can't say I'm *blown away* by this, but I will say I'm happy to have this in my arsenal, both as a sports bra and as a wireless lounge bra.

If you're strictly comparing this to the wired version, based on my experience, I would say the band runs similar while the cups are more TTS. I am now generally wearing a UK 32H/34GG, and this fits. I would definitely not size down in the band, as the 34 was a bit of a ... struggle to put on (not like, sweating struggle; but it's more snug than I anticipated). However, once fastened, the bra is comfortably firm. The cups fit well. I wouldn't want the cups bigger nor smaller. There is the appearance of slight quadding at top, but I think that is more because I have tissue up top by my collar bone the bra's tight top was cutting into than that the cup is too small. For reference, I've tried a 32GG in the wired version, and I found the band too snug and I was swimming in the cups -- they were one, if not two, cup sizes too large in the 32GG.

Also compared to the wired version, I much prefer the shape this one provides. My girls looked compact and rounded, whereas the wired gave me a weird and splayed east-west look. I would have no problem wearing this one as part of my everyday wear, but I wouldn't with the wired one.

As for functionality, nothing stops The Bounce. Nothing. Your body moves, and so do your boobs. Luckily, my workout routine consists of more walking than running (ok, there is NO running), so this provides adequate support.

My only complaint with the bra is that the straps aren't long enough. Unless they're loosened all the way (and then, even still), I feel stress on my neck and shoulders from the too tight straps. All in all, I wouldn't pay full retail for it, but I am happy to pay what I did for it being on sale.

    • Does the soft cup separate the way that the wired one is supposed to? I was swimming in the cup for the wired (with the gore not tacking so I was bouncing in the bra), after going down a cup. I really want an encapsulation bra, but I don't know if it's in the cards.

    • 1

Yes, it does. Though my breasts are already fairly splayed, so I can't say how it would treat breasts which are very close together (if yours are). I definitely recommend giving it a try. Bare Necessities has a fair amount of sizes on sale right now, with the additional 25% off code adding more of a discount. I paid $35 for mine.

  5. Sports Bra (5021)

The Panache Sports bra is just what I needed for pilates/yoga and hiking. It provide firm support without compressing my chest into a uniboob. I can't speak to whether it works for running, but it held up pretty well to the jump test.

The fit of the 30GG is spot on and the shape/profile is the best I've seen in a sports bra. The band is quite firm and unstretchy. The first time I hooked the band, it was a bit of a struggle, but after a couple days of wear it loosened just enough to become a perfect snug fit.

The central gore is a couple millimeters from ... tacking to my sternum, but I think this has more to do with the design of the bra than the fit. You can see in the pictures that the foam of the cups continues above the central gore and is sewn to the outer lining of the bra, pulling the wires out a bit. The underwires are thickly padded and quite comfortable.

The straps attach to the front of the bra a bit more centrally than a normal bra, which leave a tiny bit of underarm fat/sideboob uncovered, especially with the low wires under the arms. I haven't found this to be a problem in terms of support, but it can look a little like the fit is off.

Overall, I'm very happy with the bra and highly recommend it!

    28F

    Didn't fit

    Measurements for 28F:

    Bust perimeter: 35.5"
Stretched Band: 27" end to end. From smallest hooks to eyes it's 25.5"
Band Length: 24" end to end. 22.5" smallest hooks to eyes.
    Cup Width: 5.5"
    Cup Depth: 8.75"
    Wire Length: 9.25"
    Cup Seperation: 1.125"
Strap Width: 1" at widest point

Compared to most other bras from Panache, this one fits me in an F. The only problems are the top doesn't come up quite high enough, as mentioned by another lady on here, and the straps when worn as a racerback style dig into my neck a bit too much. I think that latter part has something to do with the fact that I have some muscle there, so ... it's just pressing on it. And I think if I had gotten this in an FF the cups may have been a bit too big. It is a sports bra afterall. It's supposed to be tight! And because of that it does have a slight minimizing effect by about a half inch.

I love the fact that the straps are cushioned. My shoulders are bony and straps are always uncomfortable no matter how tight or loose I have them. Plus these are center pull straps so they fit my narrow frame much more approriately than every other bra I've ever tried and worn. I wear this as a regular bra because of the support and comfort. It doesn't look bulky under t-shirts and it doesn't give you uniboob.

Another plus is the band is quite snug (I gave the two different measurements above because when I first joined this site I could have sworn measuring the band stretched and unstretched was done so from smallest hooks to eyes, and I believe that is what I have most of my other bras measured at too), and having the 3 hooks as opposed to 2 is even better. I can close this on the largest setting brand new! Something I've never been able to do. The wires have some slightly cushioning on them as well as the hook and eye closure.

    *Update Sept 2012*
It's now too small. My full bust is an inch larger so I need this in a bigger cup =(

I absolutely love this sports bra! It fits me perfectly in my usual Panache size of 30F, and it does exactly what it says on the tin. I wear it on the loosest hook for light to moderate exercise, but I'll reel it into the middle or tightest for more serious bounce reduction. It's incredibly comfortable, and it reduces bounce to an unnoticeable minimum.

This is the first underwired sports bra that I've ever tried, and I was impressed by their clever design. There is a layer of foam protecting the chest from any underwire related discomfort. The wires end approximately ... half way up the center panel; the foam cups provide the shape the rest of the way up. As a result of the construction, the uppermost central part of the cup is rather square-ish. My breasts don't fill this section, and in this small area the support is less, but I suspect that it makes the sizing more forgiving than other bras.

The racerback option on the straps doesn't really work for me, though it would likely work for someone shorter. I'm 5'7", and I can just fasten the racerback clip if I lengthen the straps to their maximum. However, the X winds up high on my back, and the foam straps dig uncomfortably into the muscles at the base of my neck.

Extra measurements (since these weren't options on the chart):
    Cup width: 14cm
    Cup depth: 21.5

I was so excited to hear that Panache was coming out with a sport bra so I bought it as soon as I could. Unfortunately, this size didn't quite work for me so it will be returned and maybe exchanged.

The bra is underwired and has a moulded cup as well. In terms of sizing, the people at www.lessbounce.com recommended going with your regular Panache bra size which is what I did and would also recommend to try first. The band fits similarly to my other Panache 30 bands. The cup ... width is also fine for me, it's just the volume at the tops of the cups that were a problem. There's a clip on the back for a racer back option if that's what you want as well.

Only the white and black are available now. The grey colourway should be available late October and purple will be available in November.

Edit: I added more measurements to the chart since those options are available now. Please note the wire length has been estimated since I don't have this bra anymore, and I'm unable to leave the field blank.

    • I noticed there is only a .4" difference in cup depth between this size and the 30E. Shouldn't it be an entire inch? Also what country cup conversion are you using? (F/DDD or DDDD?) I wanted to order this in a 28, but there are very few of these on here to compare to my size (the bradar is very inaccurate for me).

    • I'm not sure how much of a difference there should be, but those are the measurements I got. I don't own this bra, but when I tried them on, there wasn't a huge different in fit, mostly the height of the cups and the width of the wires. The bra is UK sizing so I'm not sure if that's DDD or DDDD (to many D's for my liking...) since international size charts are giving me different equivalents. If you're interested, maybe contact http://www.breakoutbras.com/. They're based in the US and they have this bra in stock so I think they may be better in helping you find the size you need.

I’ve reviewed this bra in other sizes, so not a lot to say about it. As I’ve said in another review, this bra’s reputation precedes itself.

I’ve lost more weight and weaned, so I subsequently lost even more volume to my bust. I originally wore a 34G/32GG in these bras and now fit comfortably into a 32FF. I love this color and the fit is great! I can’t wait to get at least 1 more in my new size. 😊

(In regards to the band in the pictures: I took the pictures straight out of the package without adjusting the straps, so it looks like the band rides up, but I assure you it fits fine.)

Hi maraki, I used the ABTF (a bra that fits) calculator online as a starting point, but honestly each bra is different. Even with a certain measurement (ex: 32G), not all brands/bras are the same in a 32G. It’s all about trial and error at that point. I don’t have any specific recommendations, but I do suggest only using the calculated size a guideline and try different brands in different sizes until you find the right one!

    Fits

Stats for reference: FOT, centre full, close & low set, soft tissue, short & narrow roots, and projected. Waist = 63 cm, Hips = 93cm.

    Background:
The Panache Sport bras are very well loved but there seems to be little information on their swimsuit. As I absolutely love their underwired sports bra (summary of how I got into Panache sports bras: 28FF - Panache Sport » Sports Bra (5021)), I took the leap to try this out and it did not disappoint!

    Look:
Classic black swimsuit with flattering grey contouring and red accents. I love the athletic look! It is essentially a standard swim suit with ... their famous underwired sports bra built inside. Regular one pieces give me no support at all (deflated looking chest, hang lower than expected), so although some might consider this more 'bulky' the lift is 100% worth it plus the padded cups ensure no cold incidents show through. I like the look of this so much that I'm tempted to also wear it as a bodysuit, maybe with a black/ red/ white skirt underneath? https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

    Fit:
The internal bra fits exactly like my other 28FF underwired sports bras, which is a perfect fit - great shape, support & strap length for future adjustment as needed. The only difference is that instead of 3 x 3 set of hooks the back closure features a black clasp with no length adjustment, but it fits me well so I'm not too bothered. The clasp is easy to click on and off (though I struggled initially, my trick is to do it up at the smallest part of my waist then put the straps on and swoop & scoop etc). Similar to their sports bras, there is a hook at the back to convert to racerback style if desired. The bottom section of the swim suit does cut into my butt slightly but not offensively so (for reference, I'm usually a UK 10-12 in briefs, and XS-S in leggings). Overall, I think this will mark the end of my deflated swim suit days and I can now go to the swimming pool/ beach with confidence https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I'm so glad this worked out for you! And it has wires! Does the band soften up in water, that's what I'd be worried about since the band is a single length. And it seems anyone with a butt is bound to end up with quad-bum . It's inescapable :(

    Fits

Stats for reference: FOT, centre full, close & low set, soft tissue, short & narrow roots, and projected.

    Look:
Classic grey marl colour, made from grey and white strands spun together to give a soft 'washed' grey effect. Goes well with grey leggings for a matching gym set (though I personally prefer to wear a top too), but can easily be paired with other colours for more personality. A timeless piece that goes well with pretty much everything!

    Background:
I tried my first panache sports bra last year at the start of my ABTF journey and loved the support (& confidence) it gave me to exercise. I used to ... stuff myself into too small shock absorbers (compressed me to the point of looking flat chested while spilling out of the edges) and other standard S/M/L sized pullover bras (no bounce control coupled with either band too loose or not enough chest coverage). These had worked fine for my <1 hr gym workouts (though I literally had to throw the bra off as soon as I was done), then COVID-19 hit and gyms closed. I tried running outdoors with (too small) shock absorbers but they restricted my breathing, and the pullover bras simply didn't offer enough support. Discovering Panache sports bras honestly revolutionised my exercise routine; instead of compressing (essentially felt like strapping) my breasts to my chest, they are encapsulated in proper fitting cups and can handle high intensity activity with no bounce at all! I'm never going back.

    Fit:
I've had panache sports bras in 30FF, 30F & 28G over the past year and feel pretty confident that 28FF is the best fit for my current measurements. I worked it out mainly by the process of elimination:
    - 30FF, after several months of running I realised that even in racerback-style my chest was wobbling in the cups when exercising
    - 30F, cups were supportive but over time I had to wear this on the tightest hook
    - 28G, band was perfectly snug on the loosest hook but I had to wear the cups with the straps adjusted to its shortest length to feel well supported
    - 28FF, band is perfectly snug and I have enough strap length to adjust as desired during my monthly size fluctuations. I feel so supported that I don't even have to use the racerback style for high intensity activity https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

    Didn't fit

I tried 32J - Panache Sport » Sports Bra (5021) earlier and found it a bit too tight and small in the cup. So I decided to give the 34J a try for comparison. Sadly there is no 32JJ which probably would have been closer to my size.
The 34J has a stretchy band which fits a bit large on me as I can close it easily on the tightest setting already and it's still stretchy. The straps are quite long and don't adjust short enough to get the desired "lift", since they are so long I can easily wear them as a racerback. I find the ... bra decently fitting if I wear the band on tightest setting and the straps on shortes setting in the racerback option. But then the straps cut in and I get too much pressure on my neck...
Now on to the fit issues...
I get some weird gaping at the top of the cups and the gore won't lie flat. I can't get this gore to tack and I can't get the upper cup to lie "flat" - unless I wear bra like racerback tight. If I wear it normally the gaping is apparent. I don't even think it's because the cups are too big. Maybe they are too tall? The cups are also very tall on the side and they dig into my arm uncomfortably. The bra is not even wearable as a lounge bra nor does it give the support I'd expect from a sports bra. I think the whole construction is very bulky and really hard to fit. The moulded cups demand a certain shape and if you not have it, there will be issues. I think my boobs are too projected for this bra - If they were more shallow I could size down and wouldn't have the underarm issues. On the other side I just find it uncomfortable to wear.
I give up on Panache Sports. It's just not for me. There is no other size left that would make sense to try.

You might be able to get a better fit with the Sculptresse sports bra. I get the same gaping and floating gore issue with Panache Sports Bra, but the gore on Sculptresse tacks on me. It seems to have the same frame but doesn't have foam in the cups so it makes a big difference.

However I really need the straps to go shorter on both, I'm only 5'3". I don't find using the J hook that comfortable. And I actually go down a cup size on these bras, so I get 36G instead of 34H or 36GG.

And also it's harder to find the Sculptresse, at least in the US; and it's more expensive and rarely goes on sale.

Someday I'll actually take measurements and pics and finally add something to my Bratabase account :-)

    • stableboobgenius Please add the Sculptresse sports bra. I'm very interested in it. It can be found on ebay uk in limited sizes. So it is less thickly padded than the regular Panache sports? Is it more like Elomi sports if you know that one?

    Didn't fit

I have owned this bra for 2 years, wearing it frequently. I originally purchased it because I was going on safari in Africa, and a GOOD sports bra is a necessity. This did the job, and I cannot imagine doing such a trip in a S/M/L top masquerading as a support garment.

The band is quite firm, I did not size up from my usual size, but if you are between band sizes you might prefer to take the larger. I can still comfortably wear it on the first hook and be supported enough for everyday activity, though I would want a tighter hook for actual workouts. Based on ... that, I would not advise anyone to take an uncomfortably tight band - it may well take YEARS for it to stretch.

The cups are padded enough and the seams are flat enough that this can be worn as a t-shirt bra. The padded wires are absurdly comfortable, enough so that even though the gore is too wide and high for my close set breasts, I still find this bra comfortable, to the point that I can sleep in it without ill effect. The gore does not seem to fully tack, though it is hard to really tell due to the construction of the bra. The fabric comes up significantly higher than the wires, so it is difficult to determine tack visually. The cups are tall, do not have enough immediate projection for me, and are slightly roomy in the top. The bra does not actually gap at the top, it is more that the fabric does not give a feeling of containment or restriction. This is fine for a normal bra, but less desirable in a sports bra. As a result, I do not feel as "strapped down" as I would like when doing high-impact movement. If the cups were a little shorter or cut a little less full in the top, it would probably feel more secure when I run.

I get a great shape for a sports bra. I always work out in a shirt, but with or without one, my breasts look good. Lifted and separated, good apex projection visually and practically. I recently bought a replacement in a cup size down, 32F - Panache Sport » Sports Bra (5021). It is a bit too small, but I think it will be more supportive for workouts, and since I am still looking to drop a bit of weight, I think/hope I will get more use out of it than if I bought a new 32FF. I seem to get a bit less bounce when I run in the smaller size.

Caveats: I am full on bottom, somewhat soft-tissued, projected, slightly pendulous, close-set, inner fullness, need a lot of immediate projection. I have narrower roots. I am long-waisted and tall for a woman (5'8"). I have a smaller frame, am a bit deflated on top and have some looser skin. It is not super obvious, but likely affects fit slightly.

    • Thanks for the review. I have a few shock absorbers that I currently wear for my workouts, but I am planning on trying this one next time (when my shock absorbers wear out).

    Didn't fit

I believe the 40GG is the largest cup size in the 40 band. My original ABTF range is 40H which may have been a better fit. Although breast tissue does seem to be covered, the weight of my breasts brings the cups down covering the panache logo located on the lower gore. In every fitted photo I've seen for this sports bra - this is not the case so a 40H may have been better in this style. In fact, within a day of wearing this bra - I noticed some pink material under my bust. This was the logo having rubbed off from the friction. Overall quality is great, and I love the color. Keeping this bra for home use for now since it would inappropriate to return due to fabric wear (logo). Issue may also stem from bra being too shallow.

This is the best sports bra ever! It's a great fit and is incredibly supportive. There is practically no bounce at all. It is so comfortable and much more flattering than compression sports bras. The straps are wide and comfortable and can convert to a racer back. It has no irritating label- the label is printed onto the band. Love it!

Just received this bra and used it for the first time for low-intensity cardio and an abs circuit training session. Wicks sweat really well, the padded straps are SUPER comfortable, and is somehow flattering even though it's cut so high. It feels super secure, though I haven't yet tested it during more high-impact activity. Measurements note: cup width was measured end of wire to end of wire, though the underwire ends several inches below the top edge of the gore; strap width measured at widest point. I'm FOB with squishy tissue and feel this has a little extra room at the apex, but not enough to feel any ... jostling when I'm moving around. The cup width is so good, though, that I'd be hesitant to go down a cup size, especially in a band this tight. I guess I could try sizing up to a 32E, but I really needed something ASAP, so I'm keeping this one for now - may order another to try in the future. Loving the lack of uniboob and the super comfy padding around the wire. I would feel really comfortable wearing this on its own going out for a run, though I've worn sports bras on their own before like that that had even less coverage. As an added plus (for me), the black molded foam cups are covered with a thin, seamed black athletic fabric that I feel conceals nipple protrusion nicely.

Thrilled to read it wicks sweat away well. Perhaps with your encouragement, I'll try the Panache Sport in 80F+ degrees. I'm so reluctant. ;-) The shape is lovely on you!
