  1. Marvel Side Panel Bra (1501)

Ahhh, the Freya Marvel...like a breath of fresh air for your boobs!! If only it fit me! I got this from another user as an exchange. I was looking for something soft, comfy, unpadded, but NOT sheer, and pretty supportive. I think the Marvel is exactly just that! Super soft and comfy, and I see it as being supportive in correct size.

I usually go with 28 bands but figured a 30 in Freya would work just as well. Not so much. The band on this isn't nearly as tight as other Freya 30 bands usually are. I had to hook it on the tightest hook and eye ... from the start and tighten the straps a good bit. Luckily, they are fully adjustable and thick as all Freya bras are.

I am not too crazy about the wires on this one. They were far too wide, which is odd because the measurements are exactly what I usually go with. But they ran all the way out to my sides under my armpits! For being a "Side Panel/Support" bra, I found it somewhat awkward. You can see in my pics, on my left smaller breast there is wrinkling under my arm in the side panel. But on my right larger breast you can see the clear definition of where my boob actually starts to fill out the cup and where there is empty fabric on the side, if that makes any sense. The cups were also rather short and I'm almost worried that if I go down in size my nipples will pop out. There was also a good half inch of empty space at the bottom of the cup before my boobs actually started to fill them out.

The gore on this bra is pretty high/tall compared to what I'm used to. But, surprisingly, it didn't really bother me. It tacked just right and fit quite nicely.

This isn't the sexiest, most flattering bra in my wardrobe. It's actually quite plain and simple (this is the nude colorway). But, after trying it on with a shirt, I was pretty darn amazed!! What a lovely shape!! This bra gives a wonderful, round, natural kind of shape...no pointy boobs at all!! Yay, unless you prefer that look. But I think the shape it gives under clothes makes up for the boring aesthetics of it all. I think this would make a great summer bra, nice and light, no bulkiness (the seams did show thru slightly, tho). This bra might not be good for FOB as there wasn't any real immediate projection and it seems like it may cause the top of the cup to wrinkle or gape.

(sorry for my english, i'm french!)

This bra is incredibly PRETTY. Colors are great: there's a dominant of blue and a little of yellow and purple (those colours are not really visible on freya's photographies) mixed with black lace.

I think this bra is more for shallow breast. My breast are a quite projected and the wires stand low under my breast, but it's ok for me. I usually take a 30F at freya, but this time, because of those shallow cups, i had to take a 30FF and it fits perfectly.

The cups have a very rounded shape. It fits my "even" breast, and i think it can work for ... a FoT too because the top of the cup is very open.

In the cons, i found the fabric a little itchy (but it's still ok), and the band runs a little big. I'm a "big" 30 so that's ok for me but if you're between two sizes, you can take the smallest one.

This is a very comfortable bra. It's more rounded than other Freyas I've tried, which I quite like. The fabric is very soft and comfortable. The wires are relatively narrow, which fits me perfectly. The band seems to be a little large - however, I did receive this bra used so there's a very good chance it's simply stretched out from being well-loved. I fastened it on the second hook from the get-go.

It is amazing how rounded your profile is in the Faye. I didn't know Freya's unlined balcony bras could do that. Good find!

I bought this bra because the Freya Arabella is a pretty good to great fit (depending on time of month) and I'd heard this cut family allowed for slightly less upper fullness. Which I think is true - although the cups look laughably too deep initially, once I've swooped and scooped it fits the larger breast quite well, with far less upper apex emptiness than the Arabella. I do still get the tiniest Freya wrinkle, though. I might look into taking in the upper lace section, because it gapes something fierce on the smaller breast.

Band is stretchy but firm, what I've come to think of as typically Freya.

Love the combination of the printed fabric and the bright lace on this bra. The fabric on the cups is very light but provides good support. Was worried this gave me cone-boob but looks very natural and non-cone-like under clothing. When I first put it on, it appears to have extra fabric at the top of the cup, but this seems to settle out with some wear.

    Pros:
    Looks fab
Underwire channel is longer than underwire, so you can move the underwires towards the armpits if you have a sternum that pokes out and attracts underwires (or the other direction, if that works!)
Very comfortable - the underwires are just the right width

    Cons:
Straps look like industrial deck chair material - very heavy material compared to the rest of the bra.

  6. Carys Padded Longline (1313)

I love this bra. I thought longline seemed scary and impractical when I saw it, but since it was the only one that was a successful fit at nordstrom, I got it anyway. I'm so happy I did! The longline extension is short, and I can't think of any negatives with it. Postives are the amazing support it offers and a smoother line under tight shirts (instead of a bulge under the bra.) It does take me a while to do up all 6 hooks, but it's worth it. Like all padded Freyas, it seems to be prettystretchy in the band, and I have to hook my 30 on the tightest hook. Perfect fit in the cups. Seams do show through in a tight shirt with nothing under it, but that's to be expected from any 3 part cup like this. I really recommend this bra!

  7. Lauren Padded Half-cup (4821)

I liked the design of this half cup, and it seemed more elegant and versatile than the frantic patterns of most Freya bras. I think it fits decently, but it has an inferior shape to most other Freya half cups I've tried.

    Pros:
It's a half cup in black that doesn't poke much underneath tops
    Pinstripe pattern
    Nice materials
    Comfortable
    Supportive

    Cons:
Fuller coverage than normal Freya half cup - gapes sometimes especially if I slouch
Less great shape than some half cups I've tried
The straps are too large for the rings connecting the straps to the band - might wear out early because of that

This is a very pretty bra. The straps are nice and thick. The longline doesn't roll up on me, but it does scrunch up. The straps are a bit wide and I wish the longline was a bit tapered since the bottom is loose. It would also be nice if there was another column or two of hooks.

The bra fits great in the cups while standing, although puckers around the straps when I sit down/slouch. The size down 30F, quad boobs for me standing so I went with this. Because there's no boning in the band, it rolls up sometimes which is super frustrating. Not the most comfortable bra, but really effing cute.

    • I just tried on one of these today brand new. 30FF and the whole upper part of the cup was too big. I was shocked. I think that the cups in Freya run big. Am I right? Such a cute bra I'm kind of sad it didn't fit me. I am going to try and return it.

  10. Ingrid Padded Half Cup (4453)

I'm really satisfied with this bra. At the beginning I wanted the plunge-balconette, but I could only find a cheap half cup in my size. I'm not a fan of half-cups but I'm glad I tried because this model really fits well and is comfortable.

    Size and fit:
I based the size on what I wear in Arabella, so 30FF instead of more obvious 32F. It gives me snugger band and wider cups. I'd say it's perfect. The bra is brand new and I only wore it about three times, so I can feel it's pretty snug, but comfortable and when it get looser with time it should still ... be ok.
I'm pleasantly surprised that the gore is comfortable, I usually avoid higher gores and opt for very low plunges, but this one is ok, not too tall and doesn't poke.
This bra provides good support and hold breasts pretty well, so there is less shaking than in an average plunge.
Shape differs from Freya's plunge-balconettes. It's has more blunt profile, but not as flat as in some other bras (masquerade rhea, curvy kate tease me), slightly rounded and pushes breasts up giving nice cleavage.

    The look:
It's very pretty! really nice choice of colours and pattern. I believe the straps could be narrower. The overall style is really successful, good balance between elegant and cute, as some of Freya pattern are sometimes a lot on the 'fun and girly' side and this one is moderate, it doesn't look neither silly nor overly sensual or glamour. I think it's a good choice if somebody's looking for that - cute, but not silly. Or if you're looking a bra for well-developed young girl.

I bought this bra in both black and beige when my local Nordstrom Rack had it on clearance. This review is for the black version. The beige does seem to fit a bit differently, so I'll add its measurements separately.

The band is very stretchy and far too loose--even on the tightest hooks I can feel it sliding around on my back. I would need a 28 or even 26 for this bra to fit, and even then I think the elasticity of the band would make it a no-go for someone like me who prefers a firmer band.

If Bratabase's fit issue selector used check boxes instead of radio ... buttons, I would've checked both "wrinkling" and "quadboob." On my larger breast the top 1/4th or so of the lace gaps and wrinkles, and then it cuts in and it's quadboob from there on down. Since I had some issues with the gore as well (one underwire would roll up on top of the other and they'd dig into my sternum) I think this is another pretty bra that just doesn't suit my extremely close-set boobs, but it's hard to tell in such an ill-fitting band.

Despite all that, the cups themselves feel supportive and comfortable, as do the straps. Overall, the shape I get is fairly typical unpadded Freya--slightly pointy, but not in a bad way. The lace and associated fit issues don't show through any of the shirts I tried it with. I like the look of this bra a lot, but the next unpadded Freya balconette I try will definitely be one with less of a reputation for crazy stretchy bands.

I love this bra. LOVE. I will say, though, that the band is super stretchy and I would go down to a 28 if it were available. I tend not to wear this as an everyday bra because I don't want to stretch it out, and also the extra fabric that makes it a longline (forgive me, I don't know what to call it) does flip up a little bit if I bend over. It's sheer physics. But. Good lord. This is one of my very favorite bras. I may buy several of them to make sure I will always have one in the right size no matter what time of the month I'm in.

I think this is a good bra if you have wide set breasts like mine. I went for a 30FF instead of a 32FF and I find that the band and straps fit great. I'm getting just a little bit of quadboob, but this is nothing compared to bras I've worn in the past, not knowing what my correct size was! I will continue to see how it fits, but in the future I might go up a cup.
The straps are really comfortable: the material is soft and they don't dig into my shoulders or slide around and fall down. The inside of the cups aren't scratchy -- I'm really picky about that. My breasts are delicate creatures that hate rough and itchy lace!
I would for sure buy another Freya bra. The clashing prints on this one is so cute, and I had to buy the matching underwear https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

This bra is gorgeous, I've been wanting it since it popped up in the "coming soon" section of the Freya website! I really like the taiga biome and its dark green plants (my favorite color!) and red and white winter berries, so this was perfect for me. I also love longlines, and plan to wear this under a lacy black shirt!

That said, I was a tiny bit disappointed with the shape. It's a very neutral shape, not too natural, and not too round. I like a round shape, so I was kind of hoping for something with a little more "oomph."

However, the band runs pretty large, and I ... feel that if it came in a 28 band, I could perhaps get a better shape from it. Right now it sort of feels like the wires are floating a bit, rather than holding my boobs in. I think I'm going to try and get it altered down to a 28 band, because I think it'll improve the shape drastically. I'll update this when/if it happens!

A quick note about the "longline" aspect of it: I wish the bottom of the band didn't roll up so much! It feels like I'm rolling it back down every five minutes. I feel like some boning would help with this, although I worry that it would make the bra too expensive.

Gorgeous style. Normally I don't allow myself to buy let alone even try soft cup Freya's anymore because I abhor the shape they give me (which I lovingly deem as 'bullet boobs') although this offering seemed like it may be a redeemer for the brand. The style instantly appealed to me with the green, lilac and tiny magenta floral topped with lime lace and bow accents. The full on solid fabric cups and their small edging of lace said to me, "Hey, maybe this particular bra is a bit more similar to this ... season's Cleo line so maybe give it a try". I'm pleased to say I'm a big fan of the solid cup structure with all its details.

As for sizing I've read many, many reviews before buying this bra and they were allover the place: "it's so big, size down", "I had to go up in the band", "definitely far too big in the cup", etc. My only conclusion is that perhaps many of these women have not bought a Freya bra or even a new bra in the past six-months or so because for me it runs 100% TTS for Freya. They may be used to their now stretched-out bras in their what-could-be-previous-size and instead of getting re-measured, they bought what they thought they were! This means the band is definitely going to be stretchy, and now I really want to size down to a 28 just because I know that if I plan to wear it A LOT it will definitely wear out pretty quick. Also, the cups are just fine and I really should be up one from this FF and in a G (even though it was unavailable at the time I ordered).

However, I do understand that since I am not very compatible with these styles that many women who ARE and therefor are fuller on bottom may actually *want* to size down one cup because as some reviews have said, the top of the cup may have a bit extra room. Too bad for me it doesn't because I'm in an improper size. I'm hoping to exchange this for a 28GG if I can find it and further update to make a good comparison and final call on this super pretty SS12 style.

Key points to this fit: underwires are wide enough on sides yet still low because the side wings are too, there isn't so much "quad boob" because of cups cutting-in but rather because the cup size is knowingly too small (can't wait to try a larger cup to compare), band is usual "Freya long" and as always stretchy.

Recommend: if you're a typical soft cup Freya fan and have fuller on bottom breasts, try either your normal size or same band, down just one cup. If you are unsure of your Freya-fan status or have fuller on top/all around fullness (or also, smooshy boobs that tend to fill out on bottom or on top): try your same band and cup and maybe also one cup size up as well.

    Measured immediately before wearing.

Cups fit well, I'm debating on if the cups are filled enough at the bottom or not. I don't feel they are "quite" filled, but it doesn't feel like a bad fit so I'm thinking it's O.K. Underwires aren't uncomfortable... while I can definitely feel them, I'm thinking it's something I'd get used to rather quickly.

Profile from side isn't bad, it's what I would call ever so slightly pointy, but not at all bad. Profile view from front is a bit wider than I like, but not terrible. My main issue with this bra is that the cups are soft and have no structure (versus a molded or foam lined cup), so I have to tighten the shoulder straps tighter than I like to get a non-droopy appearance.

Band fits best on the tightest hooks, so I think a 28G would be a better fit. Bra will be returned for now, but in the future I may consider picking one up in a 28G.

After three years, my boobs have grown and my ribcage has shrunk. So now instead of wrinkly cups with a well-fitting band, I'm filling out every bit of the cups, and migrating a bit because the band is no longer tight against my ribs. I still love that it's a balconnette and appreciate the shape it gives me, but it isn't supportive anymore. It's simply good enough in a pinch--and I've been in a lot of bra-related pinches of late!
