I bought this bra in Moonstone.

First off, this bra is gorgeous to look at. The details on the bra remind me of a very pretty hand embroidered quilt.

The straps of the bra and fully adjustable. They have rose embroidery details and small bows on the front of the straps where they meet the top of the cup. I found the straps to be a bit difficult to adjust. This is likely due to the fact that the straps are nicely padded, so a bit on the thicker size.

The band is a bit on the stretchy side, so it felt a little looser than some of my other bras. ... Otherwise, it felt nice. There is embroidery on the bottom part of the cup that does rub a little, but it isn't a major irritation. I imagine it will soften some when I wash the bra.

The cups are nice and comfortable, and they give my breasts a very nice shape. I didn't realize when I got this bra that it was a plunge design, which is awesome. I haven't tried it under a thin shirt yet, but the detailing on the cups could possibly show through. It doesn't bother me, but it's food for thought.

The gore doesn't poke at all. Like the Freya Rio I own, the gore is a bit wide, so it doesn't want to tack between my narrow set breasts. It doesn't bother me, and the bra otherwise works. When I press the gore flat, there is no quadboob at all.

This is a lovely bra, and I would recommend it.

This is another great unpadded bra for wide root shallow breasts.
It's comfortable, gives a great shape and looks really beautiful.
When I first tried it on in black in a 30C, I got a bit of gapping when I bent down with my arms stretched to the front, so I didn't keep that bra.
After some breast tissue migration the bra fits me fine in a 28DD, as long as I use an extender. Btw., the hooks are much further apart on my plum 28DD Brianna than on the black 30C one and most other bras: they're 2cm apart.

I got the Fuchsia Pink Fauve Aurelia Padded Half Cup Bra in 30F yesterday and decided almost immediately to return it. The top edge of the cups gapes. This is in contrast to the blue Fauve Emmanuelle Padded Half Cup Bra in 30F, which I have been wearing every third day since it arrived a couple weeks ago. The 30F Fauve Aurelia's band is noticeably looser than the 30F Emmanuelle's. I can't tell if this would affect how well the bra fits because the loose edges of the cups are totally distracting. I would consider exchanging for a 30E, hoping the underwire went far enough back on the ... sides, but the Aurelia's pink color is less vibrant than in product photos. In real life, the "Fuchsia Pink" is slightly muddied. The white, pink, and green embroidery and appliques are lovely.

Fauve's high quality is evident in the Aurelia's fit and finishes. Like the Emmanuelle, the Aurelia does not pinch or poke anywhere. The cups are lined in the same soft, smooth fabric, and the underwires seem to be well cushioned.

I love Fauve. I wish I could afford to buy all of them. Right now, I wish I could afford to just replace this one with a 34G - meaning, I think, that the darn thing is true to size. The band fits, technically, but I prefer a tighter fit. The cups are one size too small.
I have a sheer Fauve in a 34G and it fits great, if a trifle large in the cup. With the padding on this one, I think a 34G would be spot on. I have considered taking the back in, but there is lace applique on both sides of the hooks. Alas.
Pros: Absolutely the most beautiful bra I have ever seen - better than pictures even though it's more coverage than I'd expected. Attention to detail is just wow. True to size. Quality, comfort, shape.
Cons: It's not my size! No really, the embroidery & lace overlays are impractical under many things. (Although I would work outerwear around it if it fit!)

This is a truly beautiful bra. It is without a doubt the most beautiful bra I've ever own and probably the most beautiful bra I've ever seen in person.
This is also the first bra I've ever owned that is at least close to my actual size as last week I believed I was 40D - 40DD (and I was bemoaning the fact that my back and my neck always hurt!). I happened to stumble onto a blog that discussed the importance of a proper fit and gave some tips to help figure out your fit at home and with those tips I discovered that I ... was nowhere near that 40D I had on, so at the first moment I could, I ran to the only bra store within a 200 mile radius of me that actually carried bras in sizes beyond the typical 32-40 AA-DD. They had a decent selection, although the sizes that were fitting me they have trouble keeping in stock so that cut down on what I personally had to chose from. Measurement wise it would seem that I am in the wrong cup size, however I lost a lot of apex in the shape of my breasts when I had a reduction 9 years ago and that really changes how my breasts sit in the cups and how they look in the cups as the G, GG, and H's (which I tried before the FF) I was absolutely swimming in and I lost A LOT of the support and this goes for other brands too.
I like that the central gore is narrow and low as my breast are very close together (when braless they're about pinkie width apart). The sides could be a bit higher and more stable as I do have a lot of migration issues (that I'm now trying to correct now that I'm in the correct sized bra) and the band seems to be a bit stretchy, which I do appreciate at the moment as I am getting used to the tighter band but I can foresee issues cropping up with it, especially if the bra is not properly taken care of and given rests between wearings. I do think 3 hooks would have been a better choice in the band to distribute the weight a bit better and perhaps make the band a bit wider. I find the straps wide enough to comfortably handle the 20% weight that I feel they're responsible for. I've been told and I've read online that the design/construction is similar or the same as the Freya Deco Plunge (which the store I went to was out of stock in anything remotely close to my size) so if you like that bra but are wanting something prettier with lace than I would recommend trying this bra, but I can't comment as to the similarities of sizes yet. I do plan on ordering some Deco's soon.

Cup too small for my larger side. Wires dig in to my side. I guess the cup is a little too narrow, but just enough to be annoying. Feels luxurious. Not my normal style either but I was loving it except for having wires dig into my side. Bent them a little and it made no difference.

Flat black lace overlaying beige molded cups: lace doesn't show under a thin top. Cups are tall, wide and rounded (reminds me of the Freya Deco). Gore tacks well. Band is true to size; firm stretch. 3/4" straps are wide-set.

With Fauve being a discontinued brand and therefore very hard to come by, I found this sister size for the 32F (which was extremely high on my recommendations list). With previous 32" Fauve bands already being on the loose side I figured the 30" might work out just right. And it did. This one is much more supportive than the Fauve 32's I've tried.
However, ... the trouble I have when sister sizing, is that by going up a cup size the straps become further apart, and then the cups cut into my armpits. The top of the cup also starts looking very strange. They're not so bad when I stand straight... it looks pretty good, but as soon as I move around, my soft tissue settles into the bottom of the cups and I get an odd gaping, more so on my smaller side. Because of the stiff cups, it's not forgiving at all for uneven sizes. And the gore is a bulky 1" wide, so my close-set shape isn't very happy.
This bra sits very high on my short torso, even with the straps extended to their longest. They call this a Plunge, even though the gore is 3" tall...and it fits me more like a balconette. (My guess is they call it a Plunge because proportion wise, the cups are so much taller than the gore). But I also believe the cups are very open and designed for more upper fullness (or self supporting) than what I have. I will recheck the fit during those days when I am a little fuller.
One other thing to mention, the wire width on this one is quite a bit wider than the averages listed here. The average wire width on both the 30FF and the 32F are narrower than this one I received. Maybe this one was mislabeled? I don't know.

For the record, I am 1/8" close-set, forward facing, FoT, but functionally FoB; soft tissue outside/very dense cystic tissue inside, settled (not pendulous), short roots, ideal wire width of 5.5" with 11" strap separation, low nips and 2-2.5" of projection based on leaning measurements (varies with how full I am).

Bottom line, this one needs a lot of upper fullness to make this work. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

  13. Lucia Padded Half Cup (0171)

The unstretched band is long and stretches up to 34" without distorting the wires. The band is single layer mesh (one strike against long term quality). The straps are far apart & cut into my arms (which for some reason, Bratabase still considers this to fit). The embroidered "bow" above the left cup looks a little odd to me. The attempted appeal just doesn't work for me! In this colorway it's barely visible and the extra stitching only adds bulk. (Removing it would leave permanent marks in the satin cup).
Like I said, the cups are satin, with black trim piped into the vertical seams, with scalloped ... lace at the edge. Of course, all those seams will show under an average Tshirt (a big negative in my book). The lining is very thin tricot, much thinner than Evangeline's or Aurelia's (a plus in my book). Projection is front and center, not east/west or minimized (also a plus in my opinion). The gore is a little too tall & wide on me, so I get a bit of quadding only above the gore. The 5.5" wires are perfect for me and the 10" depth is almost ideal.
Overall, it's a pretty good fit, but because of appearance it won't be my favorite. In fact, I hardly ever wear it, except maybe under a thick heavy sweater.
Update: after losing only 5 pounds I can only wear this on the tightest set of hooks.

  15. Rosa Strapless Moulded Bra (0162)

    30DD

    Fits

Fauve Rosa was a completely random purchase from eBay. There wasn't much info on this bra before I ordered it, but I was able to get it for super cheap, so I decided to give it a shot. I currently only have one true strapless bra in my collection, the OnGossamer Beautifully Basic Strapless, but unfortunately that bra is heavily padded. Luckily, Rosa turned out to be a pretty good fit! It is much more beautiful in person than I imagined, and the fit is pretty solid.

Since this is a 30DD, I already expected the band to be a bit loose on me, but ... this works. The band is firm and slightly wider than normal, with a very wide upper edge elastic, and there are three strips of silicone for grip. In addition, the wings have some boning at the sides for better stability. Despite the fact that the band measures quite big, it feels ok and stays in place, and fits much better than my other Fauve 30DD, the Aurelia. I would definitely prefer it smaller, but I don't feel that it is in danger of slipping down. Due to the silicone, altering the band by hand may end up being tricky, but I might attempt this in the future as the bra gets older.

The smooth, molded cups are actually quite similar to the Freya Wilder Bustier that I also purchased recently. It is a foam cup with no push-up padding, and the shape of the cup is a bit more projected than you would find in a standard US department store brand. The cups are a bit on the wide side, and are also a bit tall, which might be the only critique. The shape is round and slightly closed off at the top as it curves back in. On me, it fits well with no gapping, although I feel that the proportions look a little too tall for my body.

I am very pleased with the quality of this bra, as I think it is well worth a higher pricetag. The overall appearance of the bra is somewhat bridal, but it can easily be worn in a daily setting. I was surprised to see that there was so much detail on it, since the images made it look like a rather plain, un-Fauve-like bra. The cups are smooth, cool microfiber. The outer edge of the cup is trimmed with floral lace. The cradle and band are full lace, and there is a ladderwork detail at the center gore and seam between the boning and the back of the wings that adds a lovely touch. Tiny satin bows adorn the top of the ladderwork, and the center gore has a white and baby blue bow (hence the bridal touch) with a horseshoe diamante charm set in rose gold. The hook closure is trimmed with padded satin ribbon for a very finished look. Straps are medium width textured satin with picot edges, and are fully adjustable as well as convertible with two front and back tabs on each side.

An elegantly-made bra, I am very impressed with this strapless option from Fauve. I think the Rosa collection would suit average shapes that are not overly narrow, conical, or shallow. The slightly closed top might be an issue for those with a lot of upper fullness or very tall roots, but I think this would work nicely on a lot of different shapes.

  16. Aurelia Padded Half Cup Bra (0191)

    0

    30DD

    Fits

I've been curious about Fauve for a long time, but bras in my size have been very difficult to find in this discontinued brand. I've had my eye on Aurelia, a padded half cup with gorgeous, ornate embroidery, but after my experience with Fantasie Mae and Marianna, I was doubtful that this would fit. However, I was able to find Aurelia in my size from a private seller on eBay and decided just to go for it. Surprisingly, this bra works!

It seems really odd that the bra fits, because first of all, the band measurement is enormous. I don't know how this is a ... 30 band, because the measurement on the flat is the same as my ribcage (I'd say this reasonably measures like 33" band), but I suppose that the thick strap elastic, which tapers down into the leotard back, helps the band feel firmer than it should. I can wear this on the tightest hook without it riding up, though it would need to be altered for an ideal fit.

The cups also actually fit me quite well. They are an open 3HC construction and made from soft foam batting, same as the Fantasie bras I tried. However, both Mae and Marianna measure deeper and wider in the cups than Aurelia. This is a bit strange because Marianna felt too small for me in the cups, but Aurelia is just right. The only issue is that the wires are quite firm, so when I pull the band tighter, the wires dig into my ribcage a bit along on the outer cup. Also, because the band is not snug, and because of my shape, there is a small amount of gapping at the upper cup, which is more noticeable when I move. Fortunately, unlike many open 3HC bras made from soft foam batting instead of structured cups, I don't get any vertical pulling from the straps, which is great. The strap placement also feels pretty good on this bra.

The design of Aurelia is its most striking feature, as the bra is dusty rose satin with mesh overlay embroidery of tonal pink roses and arabesques. Since I purchased this from a private eBay seller, I am not sure if the color of the bra is exactly as it was in brand new condition. The colors look surprisingly faded to me, and the mesh band and straps are noticeably lighter than the cup color. I like the 3D embroidery detail that is topped on to the front of the straps and the center back next to the hook closure, as I think this adds an elevated touch. The strap elastic is uniquely textured, with diamond quilting on a velvet-textured finish. This elastic is very firm, so
I think it is a very functional choice as well as a unique style detail.

Overall, a beautiful bra. I'd love to find more Fauve pieces, but unfortunate they are few and far between at this point in my size.
