  1. Emmanuelle Padded Half Cup (0091)

Surprisingly good support for such a pretty bra https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> heavy decorations are clearly visible through knits- may require undershirt or thicker shirt to disguise lace. Supreme lift, but doesn't bring breasts front and center. More of the "boobs on a platter" look than a rounded front and center look. Some breast tissue migrates under my arms, but is still within the underwire. Overall, comfortable, beautiful, but not subtle under many of my clothes.

This bra is awful. The band is really stretchy and even hooking it on the tightest hook, it's still way too big. The wires are super wide and very projected, so great if you're wide and projected. I got a 30E and the band is more like a 34. It may also be a cup size large.

This review is for the Azalea colorway.

I won this bra from a sweepstakes entry (my review for the 32F - Fauve » Bronte Padded Longline Bra (0331) - my favorite!) I didn't even know I had entered. It's a lot more of a wine color than the stock photos led me to believe - I thought it was more purple with black, but it is decidedly a plum with grey lace. It's an odd combination, but I like it. It is hands down one of the prettiest bras I have ever ... owned.

So this is a weird one. I think the band must run big for the Veronique, because on the tightest hook it's comfortable but still feels like it's shifting a bit, especially when I raise my shoulders. It is definitely too big on the loosest hook. You can see in the photos how it angles up around my ribcage, even on the tightest set.

The cups are weird, too. For one, the straps are significantly farther out than on the 30F - Fauve » Marla Padded Half Cup Bra (0291) and the 30F - Fauve » Maya Padded Half Cup (0271) I have; they are a cup size smaller, but this is probably a full 2cm difference. That said, my larger breast is very happy: smooth line across the top, wires encasing all the tissue on the sides, wings tall enough, wire sitting in inframammary fold, etc. My smaller boob seems to be confused, though, because the underwire is migrating down, AND the top of the cup gapes.

The gore also digs a bit, but it's not as bad as the Maya. I think my sternum may bow out a little right above the bottom edge, and it's juuuust too low to sit right on top, because adjusting it up feels a little better, and makes my smaller boob's cup sit in the right place, but it also makes gaps in the top of both cups.

I noticed that the vertical cup seams seem a little straighter than in my other half-cups, like they're not carrying the weight of the breast the same way, especially toward the gore - maybe shaping is off? Maybe it's a little more FOT than the others? The fabric is also incredibly stiff, which could be contributing to the weirdness.

On to the excellent things: ruching on the straps! They are a little harder to slide, but I love embellished straps. And embellished bands! The lace-up appliqués on the sides and at the hooks are so pretty. No one ever does that! It is gorgeous. A+ design, I <3 Fauve 4eva

Oh, I bought the matching shorts in a size S, which is one smaller than I would usually get for my 40-ish inch butt (38.5"/98cm today, but who's counting) because the Ms were all sold out. They are cute and comfortable and fit pretty well, although I think they are just on the tighter side of perfect.

This review is for the Spice colorway.

After having noticed that almost all of my bras have wires that are too narrow for my boobs, and having coveted this adorable bra for a long time, I found it on clearance and decided to buy it. I probably should have gotten a 30FF, but that was sold out, and so I took a chance on the sister size. The cups are still not quite the right shape for me under my arms (it seems I need some flatter pointing-toward-my-shoulder-blades shaped wires instead of the standard ... round ones), but they encase all the tissue better than any of my other bras and are definitely wide enough, which makes them the best fitting wires I own.

Having the band one size up means that I don't think the lace around the bottom of the band flips up as much as it would otherwise, which is nice, although over the course of the day (which was admittedly more active than any other normal day on which I would have worn this bra) I still found myself having to adjust a lot. It feels pretty snug, and the boning definitely keeps it in place, but I can pull it away from my back way more than 2 fingers' worth. I may try to alter it as it stretches. Also, after a day of inadvertent heavy lifting, sweating, and generally working harder than I meant to, the bottom ends of the boning started to chafe a teensy bit and itch, but I do not intend to put this bra through the ringer again. It seemed to shift down to sit slightly too low on my ribcage after about 6 hours, too, but I'm not sure if that was the workout or the 32 size band at fault.

Looking at the photos makes me realize that the band in back seems to sit higher than the rest of my bras, making it look too tight at the top and giving me a bit of a muffin top. Hooking it on the tighter set makes the pooching worse and doesn't bring it down any farther, so I'm not really sure what to do about that.

I always have trouble with center gores, and not because the wires dig into my sternum, but because my breast tissue is so close in the center that the wires simply sit on top of it. For this reason I have always had to love balcony and half-cup bras from afar. This was true at first for this bra, but to my surprise it was not only better than any other I've tried, but it also didn't bother me. At all. And I am a sensitive, fussy lady about my clothes! I don't understand it, but it makes me love this bra so much more. Seriously! It comes up so high, and I didn't care! So good.

It's super supportive, too! Considering how open it is on top, it held me up throughout the day and was a great shape and the light padding is very natural. (Plus, squishable cups are great for not worrying about when traveling, which I do a lot). This is the only bra I have ever worn that I know for sure doesn't cut into my super-tall breast roots at all, while still having a short enough cup to not gape on the top and a tall enough cup to cover me. (In most cases the cup is too short and my nipples pop over the top because my boobies are shallow and so tall, especially with padded balconettes.)

Orange is a color I didn't think to find in a bra, but I love brights and this one is just so adorable. I have been sad ever since they discontinued it because it's so good, and I don't think the color, satin fabric, or details make it look cheap at all. True, I would be happier if the lace on the front of the band or the straps extended past the side seams, but you can't have everything, and it is my new favorite. A++

I got this bra gently used from a swap listing. The embroidery on the cups has started to fuzz just a little bit from washing, but that is the only sign of wear I can see. The band is also slightly looser than I think it was new, but it still fits without riding up on the loosest set of hooks. It's a nude shade with a yellow tinge that doesn't quite match my skin tone but would certainly pass under a white shirt.

Since getting my ... href="/bra/dlilv/" class="mentioned-item">32F - Fauve » Bronte Padded Longline Bra (0331) , I have been on the hunt for All The Fauve Half Cups. Because this one is a cup size smaller and the band has less substance for weight and tension distribution, the fit is a little different than I had expected.

For one, I know it's silly because the Bronte fits like no other, but I am disappointed that the gore/bridge on the Maya chafes. It comes up to about the same height, but in the Maya that is sternum-digging and boob-squishing height which leaves red marks and is uncomfortable after about 10 minutes. I have always had this problem with how close my breast tissue gets in the center, though, and have had to admire half-cup styles from afar; the fact that the Bronte didn't bother me was just a fantastic surprise. Since there is about 1cm of space in the underwire channel, I will definitely push the wires out and tack them, which should make a ton of difference.

The cup isn't quite tall enough for me on the sides, either, although the depth and projection are excellent. I wish the wires had a shallower outer curve or were about half an inch wider to get the last bit of my super-wide breast root, but that's probably the difference between the F and FF cup.

Overall, it's a lovely bra, and I hope my alterations will make the chafing a little less prominent.

I tried this on in the store Intimacy. Since I'm mostly a 30FF I feel like this bra ran a little large in the cups and like usual, stretchy in the band. I have the Lucia in red and love it even though it's a tad bit small for me. Primarily I enjoy the cakes on a plate cleavage I get from my Lucia and was disappointed at not achieving the same level in the Lavina. The cups fit perfectly but it was just not the same sort of construction. The gore was lower and the sides higher so it didn't lift my breasts in quite the same way.

My oh my. These are some very wide cups. I don't think I've experienced this sensation since I wore my old three-sizes-too-big Curvy Kate Emily.

It's a very pretty bra. The Jade colourway is a lovely antique green with black vines and florals swirling across the three-part cups. There's wavy black lace on the top of the cups and bottom of the band, on the centre gore is a bow with another bow on top with little teardrop crystals hanging on the ribbons, and even the back closure has some nice detailing. The straps have a little bit of decoration, but honestly I wish there were more.

The gore doesn't ... lie flat, probably because of the wide gore and maybe also the wires. Since it's a longline, it's still rather supportive, and my boobs aren't attempting a jailbreak. The fabrics are soft and comfortable.

The quality feels a lot better than sister brand Freya's longlines. I've read that the lace at the bottom of the band flips up on some, but on me it doesn't, or at least it doesn't feel/look as bad as it does in my Freyas (which usually have the band sneaking up in between the wires and my IMF - it's a weird feeling)

I went up a size in this as it stops at a G cup and I've always wanted a 30GG in these styles. The band feels good, not too tight (important in longlines as it compresses a larger area of your ribcage and therefore your lungs), but it still stays put. The cups, as I mentioned, have sufficient volume, but are too wide. Why is it so hard for designers to make half cups for projected and narrow boobs?

One thing that's worth mentioning is the lack of more than 2 colums of eyes. I noticed there are 4, 5 and even 6 hook extenders cheap on Ebay, which I will be buying and adding to it.

Comfortable and beautiful bra, though the straps are definitely wide set so if you've got narrow shoulders you may want to steer clear. I get a little gaping at the top of the cups, I think I probably just don't have quite enough volume to fill out the top of the cup because everything else fits fine.

Oh, I loved this bra. I loved it the first time I tried it on. Shallow-friendly, giving a great shape, great uplift, and so pretty, with so many details. I got it in three different colours, and stashed them away for winter and thicker clothes the embroidery wouldn't show through. Pulled them out today and wondered whether I'd always had that much sideboob in those bras. To my great disappointment, I am listing the lot of them.

The fit is very good here. I do get teeny tiny minor traces of the usual problems with my even-full, close-set breasts - the inner top quadrant of my large breast spills just a teeny bit into the middle, and the gore is pushed just a centimeter away from my sternum. Slightly narrower gore and/or slightly deeper cup would make it perfect, however, as-is, it's really a very very good fit.

Overall, it's comfortable. The cups are molded, which is gives the bust a rounded look and supported feel that I prefer over soft-cups (but can't often get to fit!) The I-feel-pretty lace is almost entirely on the ... outside of the cup, not touching the skin (except for a trace on the bottom/top of the cups which is slightly itchy but not a huge issue). The lace does cause a bumpy look in certain tight shirts.

Comfy, great fit! This was my first Bra That Fit. After comparing this to other Fauve padded half-cups, it appears this one is slightly deeper and more open on top than most of the others (which is good for me).

Half-cup balcony styles seem to work best for my top fullness. The cups here almost straight across and quite open at the top. It's such a fine line between fitting and not fitting, which you can tell from the difference in size between my left and right breast. When the straps are adjusted the same, the right, which is larger, comes perilously close to quad-boobing at times toward ... the middle, while there is slight top-wrinkling at the top for the smaller left breast. Tightening the left strap and loosening the right fixes the problem.

T-shirt friendliness: Pretty good. This is technically not a traditional T-shirt style; it's a three-part cut-and-seam soft cup. But the seams are subtle and barely visible on the outside. I wouldn't call it a molded cup, but the cups are very, very lightly lined with a thin layer of foam, which prevents headlight problems. Embroidery and top seam show under tighter tops.

Materials: 48% nylon/polyamide, 46% polyester, 6% elastene. Maybe it's because it's pre-owned and "worn in", but it feels comfortable to me; it's fabric, not mesh, and it's got a smooth, satiny finish.

I was worried because the Evangline has a rather shallow cup measurement for Fauve padded half-cups and I got some quad-boob when I was taking pictures, but when I tried the bra again 2 weeks later, it fit well. I think it depends on my time of the month. This is a lovely go-to for the first two weeks of my cycle, after which I can switch to the deeper/more open on top Pearl, or my Comexim Basic.

I have a wide root and shallow boobs. I do need flat cups but not extraordinary wide wires. I almost don't have any volume on top. I usually wear this bra when my boobs are smaller during the first weeks after my mestruation.

As the band was too loose for me I altered it into something between 28D and 30C. The cups seem to be true to size. It has wide wires and give my boobs a rounded pushed shape.
The fabric looks really expensive like Fauve bras usually do. I already own one Merissa in 30D which did'nt strecht out at all.

My 30F Fauve Emmanuelle Padded Half Cup Bra in Blue is my boyfriend's favorite out of all my Fauves. He finds the deep blue with black color and pattern combination sexy yet elegant. He likes it even better than my other half cup Fauves that fit equally well, including:

    Marla in Blue
    Evangeline in Biscuit
    Evangeline in Red
    Lucia in Ruby
    Maya in Butterscotch
Chloe (sheer half cup) Bras in Blue, Teal, and Black

Fauve half cup bras deliver quintessential cakes on a plate cleavage. The full, round profile is lush. I had tried a few dozen bras, mostly from UK powerhouses like Panache, Freya, and their sister brands, before discovering Fauve. (Fauve is a ... brand of the Eveden Group, which also puts out Freya and Fantasie.)

The remarkable feature of my Fauve half cup bras was how fully they pushed my round, full-all-over breasts front and center. The fullness around the center gore delighted me. I like the look for its own sake, and it also slimmed down my torso, viewed from the front.

The main problem for me with Fauve, and I deeply regret it, is how high the gores are. (Half cup bras typically have higher gores than balconettes. I've never tried a Fauve balconette bra because I heard they run even deeper than their half cup bras. Looking at Bratabase, I reckon Fauve doesn't have a single 30F bra with a gore 1.5" or lower.) My 30F Fauve Emmanuelle Padded Half Cup Bra's gore is resting on breast tissue. I have an easy time getting gores of all kinds to tack, despite having no space between the breasts above the 1.5" mark. Unfortunately that means I can no longer wear Fauves everyday, as I used to. The bra itself is quite comfy while being worn, but the bruising I had was starting to look permanent. The beauty, comfort, and shaping of my Fauve half cups was a hard addiction to break.

First off, this Bethany half-cup is not "Padded" like the description on Bratabase says. It is very lightly lined IMO.

I wish this bra was made in a 28" band, because I have to wear it on the tightest hook to feel really comfortable. However, I really like this bra. It has a medium-height gore that doesn't dig in and provides lift even on my small-ish boobs. The design is cute and doesn't show through most clothes. I wish I could find the matching underwear in pistachio green, but I haven't had any luck so far.

This bra is for you if you have wide, separate breasts that are fairly shallow.

Edit: After owning this bra for awhile, I feel the wires are a bit too wide and the bra shifts around on my frame a bit when worn all day. I think it would be better for those who are true 30-bands.

To this date, Evangeline Padded Half Cup from Fauve is my favorite bra.

I find it both elegant and quite sexy (I have it in gold/black) and it gives my boobs the perfect rounded shape from the side which I value a lot. The straps are soft, elastic and comfortable and doesn't dig in to my shoulders.

I love this bra so much that I actually ordered another one in the same model just a couple of days ago, but in red. It was indeed expensive, but this is top quality and totally worth it.

A very pretty bra, the printed fabric is overlain with white mesh throughout. The lace trims on the seams and edges of the cup are somewhat thick and show through shirts. All the elastic has a decorative trim on the edges that also helps prevent the strap adjusters from slipping. The front part of the straps is covered with the printed fabric but they are still fully adjustable with a little effort.

This bra is quite shallow at the bottom of the cups, but has some volume at the top. I am shallow but tending towards full on bottom, so it didn't work for me.

I think it would work best for a shallow but fuller on top shape. Typical of Fauve, the wires are fairly wide and also quite firm. I think the cup runs a little large, and the band is on the looser side for a 30.

Fauve definitely offers the most beautiful design among all the DD+ brands. Even if the appearance can be dubious for someone, I must admit that the quality is perfect down to the finest detail.
Some reviews say that Lucia runs big in the cups. As Fauve doesn't produce 28 bands, I purchased the smallest band possible and went down one cup size - 30DD. And this is what I think about the fit:

    - tha band - it's definitely too loose (all eveden's 30' bands are too loose for me). On the photos you can see the bra after it's been altered.

    - the straps - they're very elegant and comfortable. ...

    - the cups - the cup fit is kind of weird. First, the underwires are really very wide (I have some other Fauve's half cups, theye are all the same). They leave their marks about 1 cm after the breast tissue. It wouldn't matter a lot if they didn't poke into my ribs under the armpit. I can not wear this bra for a long time because it's painful. The second complaint concerns the cup shape. It could be a very interesting construction but there's a problem related to the wide underwires. The distance between the place where the straps are attached to the cup and where the underwires end is very long which means first, that the straps are situated very in front, and secondly, that there's an extra fabric on the sides and my breast tissue tries to escape in this "pocket". This is very unconfortable while wearing the bra and gives a sensation of pressure in the middle of the cup. This can mean that either the construction is wrong, or that I'm not compatible with this brand.

Excepting this cup problem, I like this bra for it's design and elegant fabric it's made of.

  19. Evangeline Padded Half Cup (0262)

    Hasn't set fit

Astounded to find a padded half-cup working on me, but it does, amazingly well, though the shape it creates is definitely closer to the body than I expect to see. Tons and tons of lift, authoritarian construction and a VERY firm band appear to be the key. It has more depth in the bottom than most padded halfcups and thus accommodates my projection, but without actually giving a projected look. I have a lot of fullness on top and a tall root, with a slight slope above up to collarbone as well as the flagrant FoT, so I'm beyond delighted to find a workable half-cup. It gives a ... ... well, a less projectile than I expect yet absolutely perfect cakes-on-a-plate shape. It does not budge over 18 hours' wear, literally not an iota of downward wire crawl, wire mark perfectly placed right up in the inframammary fold, hallelujah. It's so comfortable there is literally zero to notice about it being on -- even late that night -- other than how awesome-looking one is and how little one's back hurts.

The same size as in my far duller, utility Fantasie side support bra, Susanna, worked perfectly here. The wire width seems very similar i.e. medium or maybe a tidge on the narrow side, and comes up plenty high enough at the sides -- very nice wire shape to find in a half-cup. (I did not have any gore issues. I'm wide-set as hell and the gore's a bit narrow for me, but I'm also splayed and firm so central support is wasted on me anyhow, it's all about uplift and push-in.)

(Note: Bratabase won't let me enter that it fits me without doing the whole measurement rigmarole. It absolutely does fit. I'll fix this eventually.)

If you are in my size range, which is at or near the top of Fauve's cup limit, and you're browsing for a padded halfcup because you're wide and shallow and have been told that that cut's a good bet, and you're just wondering hmm, what about Fauve, then I suggest another choice may suit you better. (I've just reviewed the Dali, for instance. It seems more along the usual shallower/wider lines.) The Evangeline seems to be that rare and precious foothold in this category for us comparatively deep, projecting, narrow, firm full-on-tops.

  20. Emmanuelle Padded Half Cup (0091)

    Didn't fit

Not a good fit for breasts without a lot of top fullness and projection. I'm not keeping it.

I originally tried a 32D, but the cups were way too deep. Since a 32C wasn't available, I tried a 30D. Strangely, it seemed to fix exactly the same as the 32D. There is a lot of gapping all across the top. The cups feel more like a shelf than a cup.

The bra is really pretty, though it feels a little cheap. The band fit is comparable to other 32D bras I own in various brands and styles. The straps have a moderate amount of adjustment, though may not work well if you're tall or have lower set breasts since I'm close to the end of the adjustable range. Also, the decorative "fringe" on the straps makes it hard to adjust.

This bra is not owned any more
