When I first tried this bra (40H - Elomi » Anushka Plunge Bra (4061)) I complained bitterly about the stiffness and roughness of the fabric and vowed not to buy the bra again. That is until I saw the bra was being released in a beautiful teal color. When I tried a 42HH the fit was much better, probably because I was underestimating my size back in the day and also because I've grown since then. I decided I had to have the new color as it was just gorgeous.
This bra is one band size bigger than I usually wear and two cup ...sizes down because, for some reason, this bra is not made in a 40JJ like other Elomi plunges. Because of that it's a bit small in the cup. I would love to lose a bit of boob weight now the holidays are over but we will see if the bod will cooperate. I wear the bra on the last hooks right out of the gate.
The fabric is still rough on the outside and shows under knits. Really it was not the most practical purchase. But I needed this color on my body and my husband commented on how pretty it was on me too, so maybe it's ok? 😉 Guess I need the thong now too.😄 Read more 124 more words
yes, so beautiful!! I'm afraid I gained some boob weight already from the holidays lol took pics of 2 new bras and both are on the edge of too small on bigger side. but i already washed them. oops.
Ooooooooooohhhhhhhh what purdy color! I am really beginning to become upset at that fact that I am so small, there are so many "plus size" brands that I am in love with but none of which offer anything even near my size! Elomi and Glamorous are just two on the list...then the other side of the spectrum, I LOVE extremely small, low coverage bras and most of them don't sell in a band below 30, and almost every non padded Cleo i want is discontinued and starts at 28E anyway so therefore won't fit me. Skarlett blue and Boux avenue are like the only brands that has an aesthetic I like and carries my size! And it's really difficult to find the look that so many "plus size" brands have in smaller sizes! Sorry for the rant! You look gorgeous!
Your husband has great taste! Gorgeous on you!
Looks fabulous!
Thanks! LeProfessor I feel the same way about almost every Polish bra company, Mimi Holliday, and Lepel, so we are even lol.
Lol! That Mimi Holliday gets everyone at each end of the spectrum! I think I just bought the last 3 size 28D/DD Mimi's in the whole world that are not on eBay (if there are any there, lol). At an exorbitant price even together were "40%-60%" off... I bought a 32B Mimi and it cut into my roots and the band was huge, so I can't take in the band without it turning into like a 30B or 28C. I've learned my lesson, never buying anything over a 30 band again..... more and more each day I'm making the decision to start my own bra brand!
LeProfessor its amazing how brands change the shape even of sister sizes, isn't it? I hope you get the Mimi of your dreams!!!
This bra has the softer Elomi wires so it stretches back more. I loved the Gothic arch at the bottom which gives me lots of comfort at my high stomach but the diamond mesh is a bit scratchy- it’s lined with beige non stretch lingerie mesh. The lace on top is soft. It’s very pretty. I would buy it again in it’s pink color way and put in firmer wires I think.
You can see my review of this bra previously in a smaller size: 40H - Elomi » Anushka Plunge Bra (4061). I have gained about a cup size since then and I think I was also in a cup size too small then, which contributed to the poor fit.
The fit is quite good actually, due to a firm band and a lot of depth with a quite low gore for this size. I had no riding down after about 45 mins of testing wear, though the wires were slightly pokey at the armpit. Less cutting in than other Elomi plunges in sister sizes. ...The fabric is less smelly than my first one too. Still, it's a plastic bra and doesn't feel great to the touch. The inner fabric is soft enough. It seems like the outside would be very durable...perhaps waterproof? However it's about to be released in a gorgeous teal and black combo that I WANT and I wanted to know if I could get close to a size that fits so I can snatch it up right away. I need a teal bra to match basically all my clothing and furniture. I'm obsessed with the color. If I could find it in the old Kingfisher colorway I would likewise snag it. I will haunt eBay for it just like I already do for old Ritas in sizes that might work. Sob. Read more 140 more words
I really love the look and fit of this bra but I can’t stand the fabric. Fits like my favorite 42HH - Elomi » Kim Plunge Bra (4340) but the fabric is coarse and scratchy. Too bad because I love the color.
This is my favorite swim top. While the fit is a little off (mostly because of the wire shape I think), once I’m in the water it’s very supportive and containing- great for lap swimming! I love love love the print which features flowers, pineapples, and watermelons. Fun! Goes great with a pair of aqua briefs I already own.
This is a beautiful bra for petite full bust and plus folks. At first, I believed this bra didn’t fit. The flexible wires pulled too wide (although these snap back into shape unlike the majority of Elomi wires). This led to slight cutting in/ flattening and the gore twisting. However, once I replaced the wires with firm Panache wires these problems went away for the most part (the gore still slightly twists, likely because the gore hits me higher than most of my bras and at the top my breast tissue is firm and touches). The wires are blessedly short at the sides, ...allowing my arms to move without hitting the wire and causing range of motion issues. The straps, thick stretch smooth elastic, are also set more narrowly so they don’t slip off. They are longer to accommodate a racer back hook.
The cup is all nonstretch and is lined in beige cup lining under the lace. There is slight elastic on the edge but very slight. The fabric is all very lightweight and breathable. It’s honestly so nice to wear on hot days- much cooler due to the cut out gore, lightweight fabrics, and open weave mesh band. The deco charm in the center is gorgeous and unusual.
With the new wires the shape is natural but softer. The lace does shoe under some shirts but this is my only black bra so I will take it.
With the Panache wires I wore this bra all day and didn’t feel the need to take it off. No shoulder or back pain, less sweating. The perfect summer bra for plus petite full figures. Read more 178 more words
*this bra came to me new but I believe it was a previously worn and returned bra. Both the band and the wires seem stretched, indicating they were worn by someone who needed a much bigger band.
This is a Soraya clone without the strapping. With the wires the way they are it’s impossible to address the fit. I’ll replace the wires and see how that helps.
Edit: with wires that aren’t bent way out, the fit is excellent and still low enough/smooth enough under the arm. The gore tacks. Wires do matter.
The pattern was my first thought about this bra, too. Lovely! I hope that replacing the wire is a good save for you.
I like this floral print. Is it the same cut as Matilda? Looks like it has the more flexible stretchy wires not the new "Panache style" wires ;/ Do you buy wires online for replacement or use those from old bras?
It’s a lot like Matilda but a bit more rounded. I think the wires are pretty stretchy. Lately I’ve been replacing wires with Panache wires from old bras.

Hello cupandahalf. I have a dilemma. I have roughly you size of chest, but I am looking for pre owned bras because they fit better. There is none listed and I am curious if you would make a deal with me
Fits a lot like other Elomi plunges with non-stretch tops, for instance 42HH - Elomi » Matilda Plunge Bra (8900). The fabric is very stiff but the cut out and silver dangle is great.
Yes it does. It rests on my larger breast a bit though.
The wires are on Elomi’s firmer side.
I see from your measurements table that the wires are nice and wide, which I always look for. I wish there were a few other reviews nearer my size 40FF, 40G.
I would go for Charley if you want wider. Those wires stretch wider.
Fits much more comfortably than the Elomi Caitlyn in the same size, but still too big. Wires in armpits. Gore doesn't tack. Cups baggy. If the gore would tack, it would fit perfectly.
Cups too large but gore does not tack.... that does not seem right. But the band rides up a little in your fourth photo. How about @40:14? I am a little smaller than you but I had to go down in band size and way up in cup letters before I got the gore to tack.
Bottom line: gaps at the top side of the cup. Projection isn't right for me, it seems to settle in and withing a few minutes, it's down below the IMF. Matilda does the same and it works for many with projection, but not for me. The material is also the same as Matilda - I don't like it. This might run a dash large, accounting for the gapping at the top-side of the cup, but I don't think it is that. The overlay pretty fabric wrinkles on this at the tip of the cup. The wires are both too high and too wide so it pokes. It's very pretty on and definitely doesn't work for me. Pictures and measurements to come.
Was thinking about getting a new one of these but I decided on a different more useful bra. Loved my original 40JJ - Elomi » Sachi Plunge Bra I wore it to death though. I might get it again, who knows?
I had to put in wires that are 1.5 inches shorter on the side and about 1.5 inches narrower and I can finally wear a bra with wires all day again, which is great because I was getting shoulder and neck pain from my wireless bras. I’ve tried this bra or variations of it so many times: 38JJ - Elomi » Lottie Plunge Bra (4180) I wore for over a year 3 times a week until it wore out. The wires don’t work for me but the rest of it does.
I tried this bra before when I wore a smaller band size. 40JJ - Elomi » Matilda Plunge Bra (8900) was too big. This one fits much better but it’s still too tall and wide at the sides.
I love the colour on you, it's beautiful!
