What a bust - Supposedly this bra is a recolor of Freya Viva. It’s not though. It doesn’t fit at all the same! I’m astonished how they managed to do that tbh. I love the original Freya Viva bras (in black with pattern and white with pattern) but this one is such a let down. I expected it to fit like my other viva bras - tight stretch lace at the top, short wings that don’t dig in, no problems with spillover or excess fabric at the bottom. Yet I not a single thing I love about my viva bras can be applied to this one. As is very ...clear from my pictures, the stretch lace at the top is NOT tight. There’s excess fabric at the bottom because the cup is too shallow there and it folds atrociously (like my pictures of Freya Fancies only much worse. The wire felt different too, a lot softer and not stiff at all. In fit it’s closer to Freya Fancies and Expression IMHO, except the wire is not stiff like Fancies. Maybe even some of the Curvy Kate bras I’ve tried. I really, really wished they’d kept the shape and fit of the original Viva bra... Read more 93 more words
Oh no! You should definitely email freya about these concerns, they shouldn't say that this bra is the same as the other viva when it's so different! That's crazy.
Just WOW first bra that just FITS The fabric and look is awesome and its so comfortable. My only question is if its a bit small in the cup, seeing as I get a slight quadboob effect. Perhaps I can try ordering it in size 32H. Sadly its basically sold out everywhere, both in black and white version T.T
That's super cute and looks like a great fit on you! It does look like you have some minor bubbling, but I'd say it's minor enough that if that's your only problem with the fit, it's a keeper. I tend to fluctuate a bit, so if I buy a bra with minor bubbling, I can pretty much guarantee that it'll fit on another day of the month. Size isn't static. If you can find a cup size up, it'd defnitely be worth trying though, for science. after you've worn it for a bit, does the bubbling go away or get worse (or stay the same)?
I'll definitely try! Just really happy I finally found a bra to wear - perhaps I can also try other freya side support bras but Viva.
Congrats on finding a good fit! It's a nice bra.. It's good to have a larger option just in case so If you can give it a try in a size up.
Black/red is my favorite color combo in bras. Looks great! If you're in the US, the white one is available on breakoutbras in both 32J and JJ.
I looks like it might be a bit too closed on top which is why it is causing a little bit of quadding. Or if it’s got a strip lining the cup edge, that might be a reason. I’d definitely try a size up bit it might be better for the smaller one after the comparison.
Sadly I’m not in the US :( I couldn’t find a convenient place to get it in 32H, where returns wouldn’t be complicated. I checked with my more tight fitting dresses etc. and it’s not visible under them. My normal places to buy from are all sold out of it
If there’s a bit of tighter stitches at the top of the cup edge, they might relax with some wear and washes. If you buy with PayPal then you can sign up for the return shipping program. I’m in Canada and got reimbursed for my bra return to Bravissimo in the UK.
EXCELLENT support, especially on the sides!! Forward projection, round shape. NO spillage on the sides. Gore is low and tight, fits perfectly. Cup is mildly loose along the top- not enough to notice under a shirt. Swoop and scooping the breast tissue firmly into the cup significantly reduces this issue. A cup size smaller would be significantly too small. Fabric is soft but stiff and very supportive. Wings are stretchy but sides are secure. Polka dots are adorable https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Ugh, I dislike this bra. sorry I did not take measurements. It's my understanding Freya used to make decent bras (I'll link a blog post below so you know I'm not making things up, lol) But I know this woman [through her blog, not personally] who liked their bras and wore Freya Phoebe (note: if you google "Freya Phoebe" like I just did now, an actual woman comes up, not a bra) like for 15 years. So, Freya really used to make bras that lasted.
In my opinion, the only people who say "Freya is a quality brand" are shills. (Shills just means they "build credibility about something ...without disclosing they have vested interest.") aka, they are paid to say it's quality. I mean, there are work-from-home jobs where people are just paid to promote online social media bra brands, through reddit and social media. I can't imagine someone who *knows something* about garment construction saying something like this. (although someone with a background in garment construction could be paid to promote Freya, I'll just add this disclaimer. Aka, lingerie marketing firms, but I digress.)
Speaking of shills, I went to a shill social media account that is clearly paid to promote Freya and read that this bra runs small in the cup/band. (Freya's parent company Wacoal-Eveden grossed 1.3 billion last year, they have enough $ to pay lots of "influencers") But other styles in Freya run large in the cup, like the Freya Fancies?? Ugh, his lack of sizing consistency is a sign of a cheap brand. Empreinte runs consistent, that's all I'm saying.
Okay, I'll start with the good points. I love the colour, and the back of this bra is appealing. I like that it has thick straps. The front of the bra, ugh. Even if I went up one cup, it still is not going to work. The shape of the cup is too wide. It pushes my breasts down. The fabric is cheap and totally unappealing. I couldn't wear this bra for more than 10 minutes, the cheap fabric was bothering me so much. I could scrub the floor with this bra? I could use the coarseness to really make it shine? Idk. But I wouldn't pay $64 cad (that was how much I paid on amazon).
Obviously, the brand doesn't work for me. Brands that I like that actually are quality (and work for a narrow & projected shape) in my bra size : Empreinte, Comexim , Comexim- Sold By Breakoutbras , Ewa Michalak , Other Polish brands like Kris Line and Nessa
Thank you for this review! I always liked the look of this bra, but I think I will skip it. I found most Freya bras I tried over the years flimsy and not very good, the sizing was often inconsistent and not enough support in large cups. I think they have a cult following because the Deco is their best selling bra and very popular but I don't see other bras mentioned a lot. btw the absolute worst was 30K - Freya » Starlight Side Support Bra (5201) the fit awful and fabric like sandpaper on the skin!
This bra is very lightly padded and is a softer cup. The bra is a very pretty bright neon orange. The lace detailing is beautiful. The wires are a bit wide for me and it almost fits. The wires are taller but I have migrated tissue in my armpits so I don't mind and the wires are covered with soft fleece. The band feels pretty true but I could go down in the band since I am a 31, so if you're in between and like your band really tight side down. For me the band was comfortable enough for me I am still looking for my right size so I will 're order this in a bigger cup to compare.
I found that this bra runs 1/2 a cup shallower than Freya's other half cups that are supposed to be a sister cut (e.g. Patsy and family). Just thought I'd mention it in case you order other Freya half cups based on the fit.
So I did order a new bra in 32 H I hope that it does fit, but if it does what exactly does that mean? Will it mean I'm half a cup under in the H or should I stick with a GG. This is my second GG purchase, the first being CK Ritzy which was also too small. When I pulled the bra all the way up to my roots I still had spillage. I am semi-soft so I can partially mold to it. What do you think?
I'm very soft/pendulous and with high/short roots. I haven't tried CK Ritzy, but I tend to need to go up a cup in CK's padded/molded options like Starlet and Daily Boost. So I'm usually a 30G in Freya half cups (my Rapture is shallow so I get spillage over the top of the cup) and 30GG in CK. I probably could go up to GG in Rapture, but then the underwires would dig in my armpits. Volume wise, I guess that makes Rapture closer to CK than to other Freya half cups. If the GG Ritzy and Rapture are both too small, then I'd say go for H. I wish I could say that means you'll need an H in all similar bras, but I hardly find any 30Gs between brands that fit the same for me. :/
Thank you so much sense I'm so new to all of this. I see what you mean, I was really just trying to find my base size. I think H is a good fit sense the rapture was so lightly padded. It should be here no later than Wed so I'll update soon.
Haven't worn it for a full day yet but while wearing it around the house fit seems good, no bulging or wrinkling. Only complaint is that the cup's shape is such that the edges will be visible depending on what shirt I wear, but it's not a deal breaker.
I got this bra not because I wanted a bra that properly fits me but because I wanted to feed my love for Freya Decos. This bra isn't /technically/ listed as a Deco, but it's modeled off of the Deco style, and in my opinion, it essentially is one, just with thinner cup fabric.
I love, love, love me a Deco, but unfortunately, I've sized out of them, which is why I got this bra in my sister size of 32GG. It stretches out to exactly 32 inches, so if you're a true blue 32 band, you'll probably like that. I, however, am a small 30 and have to ...wear this bra on the tighest hooks.
I have a lot of praise for this bra in comparison to other Decos:
For one, this bra is /so/ comfortable to wear. The cups are a really smooth, spongy fabric that I imagine will be great for summer time, and the black and red elastic on the bottom actually sort of feels like a bra liner when it rolls under the band of the bra. The lace on the band is also really pretty.
However, I get the same problems in this bra as any other Deco (though it is nice not to have to be constantly fretting about quad boob). The wires are too wide, the gore is too low and too narrow, it sits below my IMF. All rather common problems with my narrow, wideset boobs. (The IMF thing is a combination of factors I think, including me being very full on top, the bottom of my breasts being rather flat, my breasts sitting highish on my chest, and more). Right so this bra... I’m going to review it again (my old review was so short and not good) as this bra is the one I find to be “okay” for me, but still has many of the same issues as my other bras. First off - Creasing in the bottom of the cup/space in the bottom of the cup. It is really frustrating to me, that I can’t seem to figure out why every bra does this. To me it seems like this bra is a little too wide so there is some flat space at the side and downwards by the bottom. It pokes my armpit on ...the loosest hook, while it doesn’t poke on the tightest hook (what’s up with that anyway). The creasing is as ever SUPER annoying, it’s like the bra slides 1 inch down and just gets stuck there and when I then pull it up, it creases. Which looks like my breasts are folding the fabric over itself (which they are). But I do like the fabric in general, it’s soft and nice, doesn’t feel rough like some other Freya bras. I can almost wear this a full day without too much discomfort, which is a big improvement from what I started out with - although you wouldn’t be able to tell from the pictures, the fabric creases look almost identical to the ones in my Primadonna Madison bra. Well, I’ll be trying to order some more bras when I have the money. Overall this bra reminds me of Freya Fancies Read more 146 more words
Thanks for posting this! I’ve been coveting the pretty floral pattern of this, but have felt skeptical about whether it’s worth buying. I’m a 32H, so close enough to your size here, and so this helps me make up my mind
I thought this bra was a but too tight in the beginning, but it is actually very comfortable for me. It’s the first bra I’ve tried where it doesn’t feel like it’s trying to move upward on my back when I wear it. To me it is very comfortable with the low wing height and low gore, it really hits spot in with my shape. It does start to get a bit “rough” after many hours of wear, but I have bought an extender to try and see if perhaps it is only because it will stretch more with use.(Already after it is a bit better, even without ...the extender) I am going to order more from Freya Plunge and see if I can’t find any that are more neutral in fabric for tight tank tops
A little update. I have tried their Rio bra, and this one is very similar in fabric and feeling. Sadly the extender was no good for me and it does not seem to stretch very much with wear (I suppose that's a bonus for some) After wearing it a few times I have noticed that the cup size is a tad small for me and shows a bit of quadboob under my tight dresses. If you like Freya Rio, do try this one Read more 109 more words
It is a flexible comfy foam nursing bra, as close as I could get to an ok fit. I'm FOB with soft tissue so Freya's molded cups never work for me, not enough projection. I also need to use too big a band to get a big enough cup. 32G I had major quad boob. Clips work well and the band is decently supportive.
Although the cup width measures 6" from wire to wire, when the bra is on and hooked, it pulls the wires out under my arms. So, the underwires end up being wider than my boobs. Since the wires are not rigid, they can be bent in a little, which helps give a little extra depth in the cup. The cups are very low and expose a lot of upper boob. Probably better for wide root, shallow boobs that have some firmness. It's not a good fit for me, but I still wear it mostly around the house or to run errands.
As part of my quest to accumulate all the most beautiful bras ever produced, this was an especially important part. The subsequent disappointment of the poor fit sunk me into a depression that was almost singlehandedly responsible for my lack of blogging. (Yes, this bra killed my blog)
UNLIKE the Decos of old, but LIKE the new Decos currently produced aside from the Honey, this bra has a firm edging on the top of the cup. I was aware of this, so chose to go up a cup size from the size that used to fit me in the old Decos (30GG). The tightness issue was corrected by going ...up a size, except... it wasn't. Because this bra isn't the same thing as an old Deco with an added tight edging and in fact is not really related to the shape of the old Deco. This and I'm guessing the new Decos have a deeper cup, but only deeper at the apex, so I was left with a little cone that I couldn't fill which in comparison to the almost-cutting-in top edge was veering toward a pointy, or at least overly projected shape. The wires are also WAY too narrow for me on this. It's just wrong in every way, but only slightly wrong in small ways, like culture shock between the USA and UK. Read more 117 more words
This bra is really comfy, and gives a nice rounded shape. It reminds me of the Deco (on me) in a lot of ways - somewhat cleavagey/plungey, great shape, some side spill, gaping at the straps but larger boob quads right at the gore. I consider both still wearable for non-work activities. A size up may fix the center and side spill, but the strap gaping would intensify.. ick. Cups are certainly a little shallow but not by much. The underwires at the sides are quite low on me, they are lower than Deco and pretty much anything else I've ever tried.
This bra is considerably softer and ...more comfortable than the Deco. The underside of the straps (touching skin) is very soft, as are the cups. I don't normally consider comfort/softness, but this one stands out to me.
In person, I like Marvel less than in the model photos - there is no sheer mesh on top, instead there is fishnet-like mesh laid directly onto the cups. The purple polka dots are less impressive in my opinion - photos made me think of space, these are fairly basic by comparison. Not bad though. Read more 86 more words
First of all, I think this bra is gorgeous but it won't be everyone's favorite. There's definitely a lot of fabric. The straps are very thick, and the cups aren't sheer but that's part of what I like about it. It doesn't feel matronly or frumpy to me, but I suppose that someone looking for a sexier option won't be as much a fan. The band on this bra is VERY stretchy. I have quite a bit of room on the tightest hook. I measure exactly 32 inches around the ribcage, so a 32 should not be so loose on me. The cups on this bra are too small ...for me, and actually the loose band helps disguise that (after scooping and swooping, my boobs fall right into the band because it's so loose). However, when I put it on there is quite a bit of overspill and the center gore doesn't lie flat. I think I could do well with a 30HH in this bra, since it seems to be one band size big and one cup size small. In terms of comfort and shape, I like this bra a lot. It gives a nice, uplifted shape and the thick straps and wide band make it very comfy. Read more 99 more words
This bra fits my bust nicely, but the back band is not comfortable. It isn't very stretchy and only has two hooks, so it tends to pinch as the day goes on. The shape it gives is fantastic, so I'm willing to deal with some discomfort for the overall look.
I keep seeing other reviews online that say the band runs large on this bra, but on my particular bra it seems to be the opposite. My underbust is 31" so I'm usually somewhere in between a 30 and a 32 band. I can typically go into a 30 band quite comfortably in Freya, but I definitely need a 32 in this bra. This may be due to the non-stretch material used on the band.
Overall I would recommend this bra for going out or wearing for short periods of time. For me, it is not suitable for an everyday or work bra. Unfortunately, it is very plain so it looks more like an everyday bra than a special occasion bra.
Wearing this one on the loosest hook at the moment and I am really liking it! It got a bit tight when I wore it for the first time for a full day and dug in a bit on my sides, but this should go away after I've worn it a few times.
This is really the first seamed bra I have felt okay wearing. The seams on this one would definitely show through a thin shirt, but it is okay for work. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the shape it gives me though. I am used to bras with a bit of shaping/padding in ...them, so this is my first time with an unlined bra. As opposed to my padded bras, this one gives a more up front/boobs sticking out there look. Kinda hard to describe! It isn't as rounded a shape as I am used to.
I think I am definitely going to wear this one again and see how it works!
-ETA- I've had this bra for a month and it really has become my go to everyday bra. It's comfortable, supportive, and I've started getting used to the shape that this unlined bra gives me. I am actually starting to like it more than my old moulded bras! The sad thing is somehow I have gone up a cup size in the past month, so now I am getting a bit of quadraboob that wasn't there before. I guess I need to go up a cup size now. This is my best fitting bra. Offers a lot of projection. The wires are slightly too wide, but are not uncomfortable nor do they dig in. This bra offers me a really nice round shape and lots of lift. My only complaint about it is that you can see the polka dots through light colored shirts and the seams through most shirts. I’m still keeping it because of how well it fits me.
The band is quite elastic, which is characteristic of Freya as far as I’m aware. The projection seemed pretty good and though the cup was 1-2 sizes too small, I didn’t have any wrinkling at the bottom. The lace was firm, but felt delicate. I definitely wouldn’t be pulling on it too hard. The straps were amazing—wide and fully adjustable.
The cups seem very deep in this model. They are also cut very much under the armpit, so it seems as if the breast tissue is escaping a bit. The underwire digs to my sternum because of the shape of the underwire. it is placed on me so that the ending is at an angle and therefore it exerts pressure. generally a successful model, but I recommend a smaller cup or even two. the standard Freya size for me is 32H, and here I have 32GG and I would easily fit in 32G. I don't think I'd call it side support, because due to the low cut under the armpit on the sides it doesn't give such a projection to the inside. In my opinion, it is more of a full cup cut.
Oh no! You should definitely email freya about these concerns, they shouldn't say that this bra is the same as the other viva when it's so different! That's crazy.
