    Didn't fit

I just don't know what it is with this bra. When I got it, I was surprised that it was kinda decent fit. (I had no luck with Freya in the past) So I assumed they stepped up their game and improved bras in GG+ range. I have now worn this bra now a few times and it gets worse and worse.

So first few words on when it was decent: so wires are right in the middle or very sturdy and very flexible, average and supportive enough for large size. The cups are rather tall and roomy on top. The lace band at the edge of the ... cups is stretchy so they won't cut in.
The band is rather stretchy but did fit me well at first and felt true to size for a 32 band.

What has changed: recently the band felt just a bit loose and the bra felt less supportive. Keep in mind I only worn it like 5 times since I got it in January 2021. So I doubt it has already stretched out. The cups feel okay when I put it on. But after like 4-5 hours of wear the bra get more and more unspportive, there is strain on shoulder straps and the cup shape starts to look droppy. I don't understand this. I did not do anything --- not as if my boobs shrinked in few hours. So the top section kinda looks like it's too tall and not entierly filled which I cannot understan as I have very full on top boobs. Bras cut in on my boobs I don't get gaping!
So I wonder if the materials of this bra are just weak and wear out very quickly?
I don't really want to trash it here, keep try it for yourself, it's definitely better than Freyas GG+ offers in the past. Maybe it's just not suited to my shape??? At first I was so impressed and it felt good. Quality felt okay. That bra has deceived me big time.

It's a pretty bra, but yeah...it's not giving you the support as much as your others. Too bad...

    • 1

Wilderness1 yes it's kinda unsupportive. I try to figure out why, bc I'm not sure I need another size?

    • 2

Interesting because I’m FOB and I have the same issue with this bra, just a saggy look. I thought it was because the straps were too long or stretchy. I still haven’t figured it out

    • 2

margesimpson Interesting, so it's not a FOB or FOT issue so general issue with the bra? I wonder if the materials are too weak and stretch out over the day? Does it happen when you put it on or you notice it a few hours in? For me it's the later as I put it on it looks ok, not super uplifted but after few hours the top gets dragged down.

    • 1

alisa for me it’s not great when I put it on and it gets worse throughout the day too!

    Fits

About me: FOB, short roots, narrowish roots, centre full close set, somewhat splayed, pendulous yet high set.

This technically fits me, one of the few bras with little to no gaping at the tops of the cups for me. The gore is a tad too wide and this becomes uncomfortable after a few hours. I also found the straps way too long and had to tighten them quite a bit. The shape isn’t my favourite, I feel like there isn’t enough lift and it minimizes. but it does work well under shirts that aren’t very tight.

I’ve read that older Freyas have large bands but not this one, it is TTS. Material is firm but comfortable. I do like the pattern it’s quite pretty. I will say that when I wear this one my boobs don’t move at all!

Just WOW first bra that just FITS
The fabric and look is awesome and its so comfortable. My only question is if its a bit small in the cup, seeing as I get a slight quadboob effect. Perhaps I can try ordering it in size 32H. Sadly its basically sold out everywhere, both in black and white version T.T

    • That's super cute and looks like a great fit on you! It does look like you have some minor bubbling, but I'd say it's minor enough that if that's your only problem with the fit, it's a keeper. I tend to fluctuate a bit, so if I buy a bra with minor bubbling, I can pretty much guarantee that it'll fit on another day of the month. Size isn't static. If you can find a cup size up, it'd defnitely be worth trying though, for science. after you've worn it for a bit, does the bubbling go away or get worse (or stay the same)?

    • 1

I'll definitely try! Just really happy I finally found a bra to wear - perhaps I can also try other freya side support bras but Viva.

    • Congrats on finding a good fit! It's a nice bra.. It's good to have a larger option just in case so If you can give it a try in a size up.

    • Black/red is my favorite color combo in bras. Looks great! If you're in the US, the white one is available on breakoutbras in both 32J and JJ.

    • I looks like it might be a bit too closed on top which is why it is causing a little bit of quadding. Or if it’s got a strip lining the cup edge, that might be a reason. I’d definitely try a size up bit it might be better for the smaller one after the comparison.

    • Sadly I’m not in the US :( I couldn’t find a convenient place to get it in 32H, where returns wouldn’t be complicated. I checked with my more tight fitting dresses etc. and it’s not visible under them. My normal places to buy from are all sold out of it

    • If there’s a bit of tighter stitches at the top of the cup edge, they might relax with some wear and washes. If you buy with PayPal then you can sign up for the return shipping program. I’m in Canada and got reimbursed for my bra return to Bravissimo in the UK.

    28F

    Fits

Viva is a newer side support style from Freya. I've only tried the Starlight Hero Side Support and the Rose Tapestry Side Support, but didn't end up keeping either of them. I originally bought Viva when I was closer to a 28E and it has turned out to be too small, so I returned it and reordered 28F instead. Happily, it fits!

Freya's side support styles are very similar to the Fantasie ones, but they are available in a 28 band. I've noticed that newer Freya styles are much more TTS in the band, as many older Freya 28s basically fit like 30s. This ... is a true 28E, so I am very pleased with the band. It is made from firm printed powermesh and has a gentle leotard back. The wings are rather short, but I didn't find the band to be uncomfortable at all.

The cups are made from lightweight silky printed fabric, basically the same fabric that Freya uses on most of their printed bras, and basically the same fabric on Fantasie's printed bras as well. This lightweight fabric gives pretty good shaping and support while remaining lightweight. The cups of this bra are unlined, but they still give me a great rounded shape. The side support panel is lined with nonstretch tricot, but I didn't have any issues with it cutting into tissue and creating a horrible vertical line like these panels sometimes do. Most of the upper cup is made from mesh elastic with shadow stripes. Side support styles are typically pretty closed off at the top, and this is no exception, but the fact that it is mostly elastic helps it stretch better. Thus, this will accommodate tall roots better than most side support styles out there.

I have noticed that Freya's side support styles tend to run a little small in the cup, however, as that was part of the reason why I didn't keep any of the other styles I tried on previously. I also recently tried the Starlight Side Support in 28E and found it almost a half cup too small, but Viva seems to run nearly a full size too small. If you are on the larger end of your size, I'd recommend ordering a size up in this silhouette.

The styling of this bra is super cute. I bought the Black colorway, which has fun geometric pink, blue, and coral flowers on a polka-dotted black base. The print is whimsical without looking too young. Trims are super simple, with medium width plain straps, and two tone skinny pink and hot coral bows at the center gore and strap attachments. Best of all, no metal center gore charm! Glad that sizing up has worked out, because currently I am in between 28E and 28F, and still trying to figure out which styles fit best in which size.

    Hasn't set fit

I tried a number of Freya bras all at the same time and multiple sizes of some Freya Fancies styles, that were all 'pretty good, but not perfect' and then I got this one in the mail, and the difference in fit was noticeable. Even with banded mesh at the top of the cup, this bra is invisible under thin shirts, and serves as a basic black bra with a bit of floral for fun.

    Didn't fit

First I have to say, that I wanted to order this bra in a 32J, but the size conversions on the zalando website where I found it, were all over the place.
I ended up with 32JJ instead of my usual size 32J.

Check out also my review on 30K - Freya » Starlight Side Support Bra (5201) for a bit more information since the 2 bras share similar issues. Compared to that one I got right band size this time. The 32 band measures fairly tts for a 32 band. The cups on this bra were too big and too tall again. The wires are ... very wide on this bra too.
I don't think that the 32J would work for me, since the wires would be still too wide. They almost end on my back! I think I would need H-cup wires combined with J-cup depth in this style.

A few words about the bra itself: The fabric is much nicer than on the Starlight bra I mentioned above. Not itchy at all. It looks like a better quality too. The upper cup is not stretchy, only the 2cm thick black lace at the edge of the cup is quite stretchy. Usually there is either a stretchy or non stretchy top section on a bra. I don't know how that would affect the fit, that only that lace ribbon is stretchy? Maybe the edge would not cut in? I don't know since I cannot fill these cups.

Wow! I see why you were so frustrated with this order! What a bummer

    • Too bad they sent me the wrong size. Now I'm still curious how the bra would fit me in the correct size ughh. I'm like 99.9% sure it won't work, but I don't know for sure…

This fit just OK. I measure a 28G. and that probably would have fit better. There was some cup wrinkling and this bra gave me a really weird puffy shape.

This is a really cute bra with a nice pattern and some lacy bits on top. However, I think it doesn't work for all shapes. It is supposed to be a "side support" bra and now that I've put it on, I see what they mean with that. It basically has a really wide cup, or rather the wire goes out pretty far on the side. Then there is an extra vertical seam at about 1/3 of the cup which is supposed to squish your side breast tissue to the front. A good idea in theory, however in my case, it cuts into my breast tissue too much, ... giving me vertical quad boob! In addition, I can't quite fill the top of the cup, it is seriously wrinkling. Long story short, it offers some kind of projection and side support, but it the wrong places for me. What a pity. Since I have free returns, I might try my luck with a different size, but I'm not even sure what would fix the vertical quading in this model - smaller cup, smaller band?

while it's quite cute the shape is just a bit off for me. it's a bit wide and as i'm center full with narrow roots i don't have enough boob to fill out the side.

other wise it was fairly nice, the stretch lace accommodated my uneven breasts fairly well, despite the stretch it is a firmer lace so it might cut in on others.

the gore did seem to want to pull away at the top a bit on me but i wasn't uncomfortable.

Viva is a newer side support style from Freya. I've only tried the Starlight Hero Side Support and the Rose Tapestry Side Support, but didn't end up keeping either of them. I bought Viva about a month ago and at the time was very pleased with the fit. However, since then I've experienced even more cup size increase with more upper fullness, so this is definitely a bit small for me now, and I've reordered 28F. This review will be commenting on the fit from when I received the bra and it was the correct size, not at my current size.

Freya's side support styles ... are very similar to the Fantasie ones, but they are available in a 28 band. I've noticed that newer Freya styles are much more TTS in the band, as many older Freya 28s basically fit like 30s. This is a true 28E, so I am very pleased with the band. I have noticed that Freya's side support styles tend to run a little small in the cup, however, as that was part of the reason why I didn't keep any of the other styles I tried on previously. When I got this, it was the right size, but I did feel that it was a little small in the cup. Now that I am almost a cup size bigger, it's visibly too small, because the proportions are not quite right, and the upper cup cuts in terribly.

Crossing my fingers that sizing up works for me as I'd like to keep Viva in my collection.
