At first when I put this bra on, the fit seemed awful. Giant gaping and way too big cups. However, if I swoop-and-scoop really good the results are shocking. It appears to fit! My breasts look better than ever and I have great cleavage! It is, perhaps, on the edge of quad-boob. It is also quite uncomfortable. However, it only seems to fit well for the moment I'm standing in front of the mirror. As soon as I go about my day, my breasts seem to fall back out. The gaping returns. I tried to make it work for a few days and found myself constantly needing to swoop-and-scoop again.. I guess this is because of the stretchy band. I might try a smaller band in the future.

    • I had the same issue with my 28FF Deco...I gave up on him, it made me nuts to always be swopping and scooping... I think that the main reason was the fact the cups were too tall for my FoB breast...

If I fit that well into a Deco I'd own one in every color. I really want to hate you right now, but I can't, because you're so cute and sweet. That bra looks made for you.

    • 2

Wow, yeah that's probably one of the best Deco fits I've ever seen! Adding on to the jealousy parade :P What a perfect fit!

    • 1

What they said, it really looks great!

    • 1

Thank you all :-) I'm really pleased by your comments. Spotlight is great and from now I buy only Deco with the seam on cups.

    • Great fit! The gaping cup is my problem, too, so it might be worth a try.

    • 1

You should try it, it's much more better than classic Deco.

    • I agree with your review 100%! I have almost every version of the Deco and my favorite is the Spotlight. I have it in every colorway! I LOVE the shaping of the Spotlight, including the cup shape and the seaming on the top. I have the same problem with other versions "sticking out" so-to-speak and therefore the top of the cup shows under tops. It is my most comfortable and my go-to bra. I also agree with you on the stretchy band. I think it is somewhat stretchier than other Freya bras. Thank you for your review.

    • SavvyL Thanks for your nice comment :-) I would like to ask, what about other versions of Deco with the seam on cups, for example Vibe or Delight? Are they same as the Spotlight or not?

    • I have both of these and while they are better than the original Deco, they are not quite as "closed" on top as Spotlight. Oddly, the Vibe runs small, in both the band and the cups. I normally wear 30GG in all Decos, but I had to go up to 32G in the Vibe (in the blush color) because the band was so tight. I have the new Vibe Electric Blue colorway in 30GG (because I wanted a tight band), but the cups are slightly too small (a bit of quadding on top). I have the Delight in the gray colorway and it is pretty close to the Vibe, but not my favorite color---kind of dark--so I don't wear it very often. I also have the Deco Rebel (the animal print one) and the Deco Lagoon (the blue/green print one) and they are both nicely closed on top (very similar to the Spotlight). Can you tell I LOVE decos?

    • Thanks :-) I usually need cups that are more open on top so I was surprised that Spotlight fits me so well and therefore I think Vibe, Delight etc. should also fit me. I have to try it :-) Anyway thanks again.

The band in the Vibe is very firm it took a few weeks of regular use with an extender to get it to stretch enough to be comfortable without. Most Freya 30s are a pretty good fit and more likely to be a bit loose than tight. The cups might be just a bit smaller than some Decos but not small enough for me to size up.

    • in the second pic (straight on) it looks like the gore is pressing on breast tissue? does it hurt?

    • 1

It does look like it is, I've never noticed pain from it. I'm not sure if it's bad lighting or if it is sitting on tissue. I will have to try it on again and see.

    • I have the same issue with the "vibe"---tighter band and slightly smaller cups than other Decos.

This bra doesn't fit like any other Deco I've tried. The cups are a quite different shape, they are taller and wider, I think they also run a bit large. The band is very firm it just barely stretches to 30.

Officially my favourite bra EVER. I had given up on moulded cups years ago as all I had tried either ended up quadding, flattening me out, and look awful under clothes. The Deco gives me a great shape (as in, people have noticed and commented on it https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" />) and it is not overwhelming on my tiny frame. I'd suggest it to someone who wants more depth and projection. Most say you have to size down your usual band and cup size because it tends to run big - I'd say yes. I usually spill out of moulded bras and I stuck to my usual size with the Deco that I'd wear in unlined bras and was fine. I would like to try a 28F though, to compare the tightness of the band.

I'll keep it at this, but let's say one thing: the Deco is available in a variety of colours, and my bra drawer is about to turn into a rainbow!

  7. Patsy Padded Half Cup Bra (1223)

I'm so happy with this bra. The fabric is soft, it's lightly lined and the gore is short enough that it doesn't cut into my chest. I'm pretty surprised by light lining as I've got a small chest and I thought I needed a push up bra. Turns out, I just needed the right bra. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I'm in between sizes for this particular bra 30DD/30E, so the 30E fits better. I'm FOB with average projection and this bra is OK. There is slight wrinkling at the bottom, but right now, this is the best fitting bra I have https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

I tried this bra on in Nordstrom's. It was really comfortable but even after scooping all my breast tissue into it, there was a large gap between the top of my breast and the bra. The saleswoman said that this bra fit me perfectly, and that's how the Deco bra is supposed to fit but I doubt that. There's no way I could wear that bra with such an obvious gap!

This bra fits weirdly. Like, as lingerie it's really pretty. The dark pink and dark blue is a great combination of colors and the gore double-bow is really cute. However, under clothing it somehow separates the breasts to the sides, resulting in a very flat profile look. Especially dumpy-looking under a Tshirt. I've never had another Freya bra, so I don't know if this look is limited to the style or if the whole line is actually this way.

I’ve looked at this bra for a year, but since it has so few measurements, I never pulled the trigger. Well, someone has to be first!

This bra is nice. Cute, comfortable, good projection. I wish the wires were narrower, but they don’t hurt, they just don’t pull all of my tissue forward. I’m starting to give up on that dream. Straps are reasonably narrow set - no digging into my TOS, though, again would be great for my shape if they were further in. Band runs true to size.

    I’ll keep it!

My boobs are soft, low set, slightly pendulous and short/narrow rooted. Lately, since I lost weight the last few months... they are 1-2 cups smaller and much more deflated https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

This Freya bra feels like other Freya bras I've had. Sort of like the quality of Cleo lined bras... Not super high quality but not terrible... just middle of the road. Actually, the entire bra is sort of middle of the road. The shape is decently rounded but doesn't provide great lift. The band is stretchy and (especially since I lost weight) too big for me. The pattern is meh. The cups cut ... into my larger breast a teensy bit giving me a touch of quad boob. The straps do adjust long enough on my low-set tall frame though, so that's a plus. I also feel like it works fairly well for me considering I have short roots and can't use tall cups. Gore is fairly wide but didn't bother me. It is comfortable at least, and after a full day wear, I didn't notice any itching, scratching, or chafing.

Overall, okay quality, average bra, but it'll do me just fine as a daily wear bra since my boobs shrunk. However, I found it on amazon for a good price, so it's a win overall.

This bra is so beautiful. The fabric is lovely, light and smooth. This animal track print is really striking and the navy lace accents are very complimentary. The fit of this bra is off for me. It is about half a size too small. I have tried similar styles in 30F and found them too large, so I think this may be a Goldilocks-style for me. The gore on this bra is nice and low and the band feel true to size.

This is the second time I’ve bought this bra. The first time was before I discovered Bratabase. It was much too big for me so I ended up returning it. I kept thinking about it though - it really was a great bra. I’ve been converted to cut&sew bras, but I have a few tops that just don’t work with seamed bras. I need a moulded bra to make them work.

A year and many, many bras later, I decided to try it again - this time in the right size.

The fit is pretty much perfect! It’s rather projected and accommodates my FOB breasts. There’s a tiny bit of ... gaping at the top of the cups, but not enough to bother me. The cups are rather closed, but they don’t quad or cut in anywhere. The moulded cups hold their shape nicely without being overly padded. The gore is nice and high and I feel completely supported.

The cups give a nicely rounded and lifted shape. The cups sit a little more east-west than I’d prefer, but it’s not bad. I think I’m just spoiled from Comexim’s narrowness.

The bra is definitely full coverage. The cups are tall and could easily peak out through low-cut tops. I’m not crazy about the pinstripe design, but it’s subtle and disappears under thin tops.

Overall this is a comfortable and easy-to-wear bra that will work with most of my clothes. Definitely a wardrobe staple!

I honestly like the fit of this bra even though it doesn't necessarily check all of the "fit" categories. I didn't think I'd like the fact that it only had one hook because I thought that I'd have loads of back fat without a wider back. Weirdly enough, I have little to no back fat while wearing it.

Two things I dislike about this bra are:
    1. the color is a little too loud for me
    2. The lace at the top has a soft elastic parameter. It doesn't bother me too much except that it looks like I'm slightly spilling over at times.

Some quick details on the construction of that bra:
    - It's an unpadded halfcup with one vertical seam in the cups.
    - The center gore is quite high, and comes up at about the same height as the wings.
    - The wires are long (23cm), but still about 1,5 cm shorter than the actual wire channels, so there is considerable wiggle room and they may slip around.
    - As bellea noted in her review of the 28DD, the wires are hard and unstretchy and I found that they poke my sternum and sides uncomfortably. I def. have to exchange the wires for softer ones in order to be able to ... wear this bra comfortably and for prolonged periods of time.
    - I found the gore to be quite wide compared to Comexim or Ewa Michalak, but there is no actual space between the wires. It's just that the wire channels are quite wide.
    - It has a straight back (no leotard back).
    - The band is long, but it doesn't have lots of give, so the bra feels quite tight when put on. It stretches to 30 inches on my new, unworn bra. It will probably loosen up after a few wears and after I exchanged the wires.
    - Cups seem true to size and fit overall, apart from the uncomfortable stabby wires.

I may update this review as soon as I exchanged the wires.

UPDATE: Now that my boobs have grown a little (half a cup size, maybe), it fits more comfortably. The wires don't poke, neither at the sides nor at the gore. Sadly, the cups are a little too small now.

  17. Flourish Padded Longline Bra (1543)

I just "discovered" my real size about two weeks ago and this is one of the first bras I've bought using those measurements. I measure in at a 28E, but those are hard to find, and at Nordstrom Rack, I gave the 30E a shot. It fits! I am a 30e, at least in this style. The underwires go further back on the sides of my torso than I'm used to, but I think this is a product of cups that fit me. The cups are all filled out perfectly top and bottom so I guess this is the right size.

Update: Feb 2016. Now that I'm better versed in what fits, I can see that the wires are you wide on this. I do fill out the cups just fine otherwise. I'm putting it up for swap.

My shape: projected teardrop that is neither high or low set, with very tall and wide roots, close-set center tissue, and very firm tissue that fights back when pushed around by padding.

Bought this bra from a user on r/abtf as a possible option to wear under my wedding dress. This review is for the white colorway.

Part 3 of the Search for the Perfect Strapless saga:

I think this is a pretty decent strapless bra. I haven't worn it for any significant length of time, but it doesn't seem to want to ride down much, and that's pretty good considering it's on the loosest set of hooks and I usually ... need a 28 in Freyas. I would attribute this to its longline construction, I think, because I similarly wear 30s in Fauve but have two longlines that are 32s.

The cups are ok, but like most Freya molded cups, they are too narrow for me. Unlike most, however, this time the narrowness seems to be causing some issues, namely how the outer top edge of the cup is tall and seems to want to fold under at the front of my armpit (I lift heavy things for a living, so my "armpit roll" is more like the end of my pectoral muscle and is probably more to tango with than a regular roll). The immediate projection is alright at the bottom of the cup, I think, but it's hard to tell with the stiff cup. It is definitely too projected on top, however, and gives me a cut-off pseudo-quad boob 50s bullet bra look, just like every other strapless bra I've ever tried; it is less noticeable when I slouch, but I'm not going to schlep around just for a bra! I'm not sure sizing up in the cup would help, either, and might just make it gap and roll more along the top edge. It is much better than my 30G - Gossard » Egoboost Strapless Bra (6288) , though, so I might replace it with this one until I find a better one.

The band is pretty comfy, though! I love longlines, though, so take that into consideration. In spite of the cups in my armpit, the wings are actually not that high. The bottom edge of the band doesn't seem to ride up, and I've tried it on three times, all on "fat" days within the last week.

The center gore is great too. All bras with wide enough wires for me have tall gores, and while some are less annoying than others, you can't really get a half-cup/balconnet style with the true plunge my boobies need, so this is a nice change. Plus, you get some nice cleavage and a lovely rounded shape.

I honestly don't know how the straps are. I had them on for about two minutes before removing them, and I wouldn't ever bother to wear this bra with straps anyway - I have plenty of other longlines for that. They are fully adjustable, for what it's worth. Update: I did not notice at all until I started taking pictures, but each place the straps can hook has TWO loops, so that's pretty awesome! Very customizable.

Alas, the search for my perfect strapless continues!

The band and cups are true to size. I would say it "fits", but it doesn't look flattering. I think it is meant for more saggy/narrow, yet wide-set boobs. The elastic on the outside of the cups gaped a bit, while the elastic on the inside edge could quad-boob slightly if I throw my shoulders back (tugging on the straps). The cups are entirely made of thin, slightly stretching fabric and doesn't seem like one of Freya's high quality bras.
The Ballet Pink color doesn't help either.

  20. Starlet Vertical Seam Bra (1061)

This is my first vertical seamed bra and I'm not quite sure about it. The top of the cup seems tight and unforgiving and wants to dig in. I think this bra might suit someone with more bottom fullness to help fill out the vertical seam and avoid the top edge. I will report back once I've worn this for a day to determine whether I will keep or list this bra.

So I've worn this for a day and it feels comfortable. I don't think I am quite filling out the apex of these cups, which makes me think this bra requires a fuller bottomed breast. I was wrong in thinking the top was digging in because it is not an issue today.

    • I'm curious to see this bra in person and might check it out if it's at Nordstrom... But based on the vertical seam bras I used to wear when I was smaller, when you get this effect it's usually because you have too MUCH lower projection and the cup cannot accommodate it, so it kind of scrunches down as your boob climbs up to where there is more depth. This could also explain why the cup edge is cutting in, your whole breast is sitting higher in the cup than the designer intended so the cup edge cuts across a fuller part of your breast.

    • That's an interesting point. I think that there is enough depth for me because it measures at 9" which is usually perfect for me. I also made it sound like I was quad-boobing in this bra, but I'm not today. I usually scoop and swoop so that my nipples are higher, but today I'm seeing what happens when I let them rest more naturally. I'm going to wear this today to see how my breasts settle into this bra.

    • Scooping & swooping is important though, not just to bring your nipples up, but to be sure you have all of your breast tissue in the cup and supported by wires that are sitting where they need to be. From these pics, I would say it looks about a half cup too small.

    • I think these pictures aren't very good. I'll take new ones today once I get home. I'm wearing this right now and I'm not minding the fit. The wrinkling in the vertical seam I was talking about in my review seems to have flattened out with washing. Once I take it off and see the marks I'll know if I got everything inside the wires. And I dont really have a lot of extra skin to scoop and swoop anyway. I usually do the "lean, scoop, and wiggle" when I put on a bra and then reach in and smooth forward and upwards. Does that make sense? I feel like if I went up a cup it would be too big. Vertical seamed bras are a mystery to me and I do appreciate any input!

    • With vertical seamed bras it's often not the depth at the normal measured point (wire tip to wire tip level) that is a problem. It's the depth in the lower half of the cup. Vertical seamed cups are usually pretty shallow down there.
