Wonderfully diverse bra, it's comfortable enough to wear day to day and cute enough to wear on special occasions. As with any bra with lace the lace has taken more damage than the rest of it but still held up alright with a year of heavy use.
Wow, what a crazy short band. I had to use the full length of an extender and it was still too tight!
The elastic 3/4" back straps adjust only partially, and the satin front straps taper to a full 1 ยน/8th" wide at the top of the shoulders, down to 5/8" wide at the cups. Soft, smooth and seamless cups would be very comfortable, but alas, it is too shallow for me. The wires pressed out of my IMF and I quadded across the entire top edge. Good side support.. Beautiful colorway...rich Purply-Plum with dark Jade trim at the edges of the band, and a cute little covered button at the gore.
Thumbs up: I really really like the look, the feel and construction of this bra. Stretch satin. Just enough 'padding' for modesty (doesn't add volume). Double layer bonded seams. Low gore. Smooth cups and edge. Hidden underwire, but no thick padding (unlike some VS bras).
Thumbs down: Really wide cups. High set. Also shallow, but not as much, in proportion. Wires sat below my IMF. Cups went deep into my armpits, but the wires are about two inches shorter on the outer edge and low at the gore. Straps really far apart. Cups buckled below the straps.
This is possibly one of the worst fitting bras for my shape: average width, close-set, projected, short root.
In theory, I love this bra! I was really hoping the back band would lay things nice and smooth. This bra has a wonderful double layer in the band with hidden seams and no visible elastic. But it never had a chance since the cups are so wide and shallow. I couldn't fill out the bottom and the top was squishing me flat with quadding all over. The gore is not very tall, but it was still too wide on me and didn't sit flat. The underwire ...was oddly a full inch shorter than the channel. At the same time I purchased this one, I also ordered the Paramour Gorgeous Seamless Contour #255455. That was a completely different fit than this one, even though it is also from the Gorgeous series. The contour version is much more projected.
Overall, maybe this one simply runs small in both the band and cups. But I suspect if I sized up the cups would be way too wide. Oh well!
PS: for reference, this bra is labeled 'Paramour by Felina' with the same model number as the Felina listed here. Read more 99 more words
The Amazon reviews for this bra indicated the band was exceedingly small. So, although I'm a 34E (UK), I ordered a 38DD in an attempt to sister size to my cup. 38 is too big for a 34 ribcage, let that be known. I think that the cups might have actually been a little on the large size for me too. So I'm hoping to try the 36DD.
This bra only comes in the super narrow range, which is infuriating.
I'm trying to find a strapless option that has enough depth to accommodate firm projection without turning into a belt. I also need it to not cut in on top, which is apparently not something strapless bras don't do. This bra managed to give me both those features, at least in this size. But it started falling down immediately.
Of note, this does not have rubber runners in the band or anywhere on it.
I like the shape it gave. I just need it to stay up. And, you know, do it's job and all that.
Comfortable, very supportive. Thin 1/8th" thick molded cup. Bandless front. Ribs on the fabric don't show under clothes. Quality construction. The perfect rounded shape! A great all-purpose, wear every day bra.
Even tension on the band. Convertible to racerback. Straps not quite long enough to turn into a halter (unless you are petite & high set). Cups have nice projection, but not a lot of center fullness. The gore buckled into a ^ at the top edge, and was pushed away from my sternum. (But neither did it sit on breast tissue.) The top of the cup is just a smidgen too open for my 'functionally Full on Bottom' shape. It was close that it 'almost' fit, but it tended to gape, because the cup is attached to the strap close to the armpit, but not in an uncomfortable way.
This bra is very pretty. It is not very supportive, though, as the straps are on the thin side and it does not fully encapsulate the breast because it is more of a balconette, I believe. So, when I walk briskly I can feel my boobs bouncing, which I do not find with more sturdy bras. I have a feeling the lace in this will wear out faster than I'd like, but it seems alright so far.
The band is super stretchy so I sized down from a 38DD because I was using the tightest hook within 2 months. The lace can be a bit itchy at first, but softens up with wear and gentle washing. It's sturdy, pretty, and I feel like I'm not wearing a bra when I wear it.
This bra has a lot of va-va-voom. It won't give you cleavage but it shows a lot of the tops of the breasts and it's pretty near transparent. The construction of the cups doesn't look it, but it is surprisingly supportive.
Runs very tight in the band. I'm between band sizes but nearer a 34 than a 36. This 36 was tight.
It's really pretty but the execution could be better. The embroidered outer layer was looser than the inner mesh at the neckline which caused the embroidery to "bubble up" and pucker. The outer side of the strap rises almost straight up from the cup so it cut into the front of my arms. Between the embroidery showing through clothes and the transparency of this, I don't know where I'd wear it, so not keeping.
By all appearances this bra fits well, however, it is just not as comfortable as my Panache (Cleo) bras. I don't like having three rows of fasteners in the back, the sides of the bra are a double layer of fabric which somehow feels wrong, and I have problems with bras that have a full band or anything hanging below the wire (causes pain by the end of the day because I have an intercoastal-rib-nerve on one side that cannot tolerate having anything on it for any length of time). The bra is excellent quality--good materials and workmanship, but it just isn't my favorite.
Band runs a size small as typical of many Felina bras. The straps are also on the shorter side- I could barely get it long enough. Where the strap connects to the band on the back is somewhat irritating because it protudes, but is negligible. The center seam does show through tight shirts but not looser ones. The inside of the band is mesh in the same material as the one covering the outside of the bra, which could be for increased breathability. Cup is somewhat padded, and the embroidery is flat enough not to cause bumps under clothes. Not overly fancy but has a touch of personality because of the embroidery. A keeper.
Fit better than the 32C, but realized the cups might be too narrow? Sides of the cups wrinkle, and the bottom layer of the cup fits but the lace over the cup wrinkles pretty much all over the cup.
Gore is too high for me and digs in. I get wrinkles on the sides of the cups and on the top because I can't fill them out. straps are too wide and nearly at my armpits. The actual 1cm straps are overlaid with another layer of stiffer fabric with scalloped edges on the front.
Like the unlined Priscilla, the band runs a bit small and fits more like a 30 than a 32. There is a huge amount of padding on the inside, Felina isn't messing around. The size doesn't seem to be the post-padding size (unlike some padded bras, meaning you don't have to go up a cup with this one). The 32C unlined gaped on the top for me so I got this in 32B, and it mostly fits- except that there is a gap near the gore for some reason. If I really scoop my breasts in I can fill the gap, but then I quad at the top. Also, the straps are very, very uncomfortable. The straps seem to be of the same construction as the unlined version, so I'm not sure what the difference is but the round metal connector on the straps bite into my shoulders. Maybe it's the strap length issue between 32B and 32C? I had to nearly fully extend the straps too, so ladies with lower set breasts might find the straps too short.
This review is for the unlined version of the Priscilla. The band fits more like a 30 despite this being a 32. Cups are wider than I'd like, and I get the weird side wrinkle thing. Most noticeably after the gaping at the top of the cup, the gore is right against my sternum, ow. The embroidery is pretty, though! The thread of teh embroidery has a satiny sheen, and the ribbon at the gore has shiny gold trims. The fabric isn't scratchy as I feared, and the band and straps have a microfiber-ish, crushed velvet-like feel to it. Unusual but not unlikable.
The fabric on this feels very soft, but the tops of the cups where they connect with the straps can feel a bit rough on the inside (and look it, too.) Cups are narrow/average, which was nice.
My larger breast mostly fits, but the other one gets wrinkles on the outer top of the cup. Both cups have wrinkles in the middle where the lace meets normal fabric, especially around the nipples, as well as slight horizontal wrinkling at the bottoms of the cups. A possible size or depth issue?
