This bra was good enough to wear even though it did not fit perfectly, so I wore it until I broke the wire on the right had side (my smaller breast). I am doing this review after the fact using the fit of the bra now.

Band: Okay. I can still put both of my palms under the band at the sides and easily pull it away a few inches from my body.
Gore: Does not ever lie flat. It floats above the gap between the breasts.
Cups: I spill out of top of both cups, and spills out of bra on smaller breast where the wire is ... broken on the side. Either the wire from the larger breast is pulling the bra over towards its side or the smaller breast is wider. (the wires on my smaller breast are always the ones that get broken or poke out the top at the gore, no idea why)
Underwire: lies flat against my rib cage except for at the very front of the bra which clings to the breasts. the Underwire follows the root of both breast okay, but comes in a little too much on the smaller breast near the outside under the arm.
Straps: tight, but I can fit two fingers underneath easily

I put good under quality, because even though the wire broke, I am pretty sure that had more to do with me forcing it then the quality of the bra.

Hi Pearljam ! Sounds like the band is still big and the cups small. Did you try a 40H in this?

    • 1

      correction : did you try a 40GG?
I read all your reviews. The bands 42 and 44 are consistently bigger for you. I definitely recommend you try a smaller band, cup volume of 40G will be same as 42FF, which sound like they are smaller. So do give 40GG and 40Ha try! Cheers

Band: Good, it does not pull up, but it does roll up across the bottom at the back. It feels tight, but I can still put both of my palms under the band at the sides and easily pull it away from my body.
Gore: Does not ever lie flat on my breast. It floats above the gap between the breasts, resting on the sides of the breasts.
Cups: I spill out of top on both cups, a lot on the larger breast (left) and less but sitll too much to wear on the smaller breast. (more than the Elomi -Caitlyn in the same size 42FF(UK))
Underwire: does ... not lies flat against my rib cage anywhere except for at the very side of the bra just before it curves up on the side of the body under the armpit. Follows my root of both breast okay, but comes a little into the breast near the outside under the arm.
Straps: tight, but I can fit two fingers underneath easily

Back when I bought this bra, and I was smaller, it was very comfortable and pretty.

    • Maybe 42 is your band size, but 42FF in this style is not enough cup volume. That is consistent with some of your other measurements and reviews.

Fabric is beautiful on the beige style, but stiff.

    Note: I returned this bra.

It was my first attempt at purchasing the right size bra for me, and the ABTF calculator gave me the size 44E. Someone told me that Elomi bras were very stretchy, so I sized the band down to the 42FF. Big mistake.

The cups were perfect, but I could only wear it with TWO extenders, and the straps were digging so much into my shoulders it was hard to move (using the J-hook, as I always do). Without the J-hook, the straps were barely loose at their longest setting.

The fabric was uncomfortable for me, not as much in the cups as it was in my ... underarm. Too scratchy. I could also hear the strap rings squeaking.

Overall, it looked great in the mirror, it didn't look brilliant up close, and it was an uncomfortable hell. I haven't had the guts to order a new Matilda (because I actually liked the fit of the cups and its look) because I'm unsure of the size fit of the 44E. My other Elomi 44Es are a bit tight too.

The Elomi Energise 42 FF(UK) fits and feels firm (as sports bras tend to) but fine. The size of the cups is too small as there is a little spillage out the top of the front and the sides under the arms. Beggars cant be choosy and I have not found a more supportive bra in a band size bigger than 42FF. I am always looking though , so will take any suggestions offered. Still with the extra material and support, it holds everything in better than a regular bra, and my solution is to double up with a second bra. I pair it with a Goddess sports bra (5056) which covers the spillage and flattens everything into a secure package. It does not remove all the bounce, but it does reduce it, so I don't get whiplash during an aerobics class. As I said if there are any suggestions for alternatives that have worked, I am open to hearing about them.

    • I wear an Enell custom fit (larger cups in front, smaller band in back). Total lockdown. Custom is more expensive but not punatively so, definitely worth owning

Great bra, but accidentally purchased a US 42H, not a UK 42H.

Well, it's still the best-fitting bra I've owned, but it's still not right. It must be too tight, but I'm not sure if I need to go for a sister-size cup or what. In some ways, it seems small (I think the wire needs to go further back and also be wider at the bottom of my boob, but there's also some wrinkling of the top of the cups when I raise my arms. The gore tacks very tight. I have *never* had a gore tack like this. I found wearing a really snug band to be far more comfortable than I expected, and it really seemed to fit in the cups at first. It was actually pretty comfortable the first day I wore it all day. Unfortunately, it's so snug that it's pulling the wires out of shape. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I tried wearing it with an extender to see if that helped. but that made the cups even more wrinkly and it just seemed to not fit right in the cups.
