I have done it. I have found the holy grail of bras. I think I have found my perfect bra.

So, I have found that it is my shape, rather than my size, that makes it so difficult to find a bra that actually works for me. I am functionally full-on-bottom with narrow, very short roots, and a huge amount of projection. My boobs essentially go straight out from my body on both top and bottom. Finding bras with enough depth but not too much height is a struggle; throwing a need for narrow wires in just makes it worse.

This bra has it ALL. It says it was designed ... for petite women, which I am not, but with my breast shape and the fact that they are so high-set on my chest I ordered it anyway, hoping it'd work. And oh does it work.

The band is fantastically snug - incredibly so for Elomi bras. They tend to run rather loose, to where when (well, if, since I have Etta now) I replace my Caitlyn I plan on getting a 34 band (I also tried on Lexi in a 34GG for kicks and giggles at Nordstrom Rank and despite being way too small in the cup the band was great). This is not loose at all and is much more true to size; I measured the band at 36.5" while stretched. Awesome.

It also has gloriously narrow wires. My other Elomis, much as I love them, have wires that are 7" or more. My EM experiments have led me to find that wires in the 6.3-6.5" width work best for me. This bra falls right in that range. Yes!

The cup has just enough height where I don't have gaping even where the cup meets the strap - something I've been resigned to expect from any unlined bra I try. The wings and gore are both very low for Elomi and, well, most bras in this size. The underwire channels are lined in a nice soft fleece, which makes them extremely comfortable against my chest, and the straps are also slightly fleecy.

I love the bright cheery pink color, and the sunflower embroidery is adorable. It'll probably show through on a thin shirt, but who cares? Not me. It's pretty! I also like the matching bows on the gore and straps, and how the gore isn't full fabric all the way up but rather a keyhole. Very nice.

The only real quibbles I have are the width of the gore - it's a bit too wide for my breasts, which are happier in narrow gores, but it's not a dealbreaker by any means. The fabric is a bit stiff - it reminds me of the material that Caitlyn is made of, but stiffer and less satiny. Still, I'm sure it'll soften up once I wash it; I can't remember if my Caitlyn was stiffer at first or not.

This bra basically takes all of the usual stuff about Elomi - wide wires, loose bands, tall sides, etc. - and throws it out the window. And it's fantastic. I'm absolutely going to be recommending it to everyone in this bra's size range that needs narrower wires but doesn't necessarily want the hassle of trying Polish bras.

    • Thats great! My first bra from a real fitter was an Elomi (in a 34GG), but I'm really a 32J, so they're out for me.

    • Yeah, they start at 34 bands, which can suck for someone in your size range, because they really are such comfy and great bras.

    • 1

I'd planned this to be the first bra I buy once I get my finances settled, but you just made me that much more excited!

  2. Energise Sports Bra (8042)

Hey! Another sports bra review. Sorry it’s not a new and unique sports bra- this is another bra that I’ve tried and reviewed in many sizes (36HH - Elomi » Energise Uw Sports Bra With J Hook (8041), 34HH - Elomi » Energise Uw Sports Bra With J Hook (8041), 34H - Elomi » Energise Uw Sports Bra With J Hook (8041), and 34J which apparently I didn’t add or review here).

The 36H appears to be the magic size for me in this bra! The gore tacks. The wires are still slightly too wide, but seem narrower than usual for Elomi. ... The cups have a slight compression, but don’t cause me to quad. There may be slight wrinkling at the bottom, but it’s really not that bad. The band is snug, not too tight or too loose. The straps are an adequate length, instead of being slightly too long in the 36HH.

What’s odd is that this bra in 34HH vs 36H didn’t fit quite as well. Part of me thinks it’s because the 34HH is too snug in the band which caused some shallowness in the cups. Either way, this size is my magic size in this bra, I guess. Hooray for another sports bra win! I now have 2 sports bras in my collection, which is probably enough for now (I’m not super active at the gym right now so I don’t want to go crazy buying a bunch of sports bras…although I’m liking the two that I have and wouldn’t mind a couple more to rotate…but my bank account says no.)

Looks good on you, and such a fun print!

Super helpful for folks in your range seeing a bunch of sports bras reviews <3

Especially as sports bras are often underrepresented on here!

    • 3

Love this on you! The pattern is fabulous. High-five for the bra win!
Totally agree with bubblegum, every review is valuable!

    • 2

Thanks bubblegum and Happy2BraShop! I know my range isn’t common so I’ve been trying to post as much as I can. :)

I like this pattern, but there’s a few others in this bra that I really like, too! The tropical camo is cute and so is that lime green one that I tried in 36HH. I’ll honestly probably end up with at least one more of these before the end of July hahaha. I have 0 self control when it comes to bras lately.

    • I love that pattern! Congrats on getting the size figured out :)

  3. Energise Uw Sports Bra With J Hook (8041)

So, I found out today that the solid colors of this bra fit differently than the patterned ones. The solids run larger/baggier than the patterns. You can see a significant difference in the pictures for this one. Also, the measurements are significantly different as well, mainly the band and the cup height (it’s taller than the patterned ones).

Overall, the fit is just fine. It’s a little roomy in the cups, but it passes the bounce test, so I’m keeping it. I do find that the patterned version is a more tailored fit to my shape, though. I don’t do a lot of intense working out, mostly spin and yoga, but this bra is great for those uses, too.

Compared to my other patterned Energise bra (36H - Elomi » Energise Uw Sports Bra With J Hook (8041)) this one is smaller and rounder in the cups. The gore doesn’t tack quite as well either. Overall though, its performance is still really good. I love the look and fit of this bra, it’s sexy and gives and amazingly rounded shape for an unpadded bra. Elomi fits my shape perfectly.. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bra fit so well on the bust.. however when I tightened the shoulder straps the back started to ride up a bit.. maybe I need a bigger back size too?
Underneath clothes it looked wonderfully rounded but just doesn’t hoik them up high enough.. no matter how I tightened the straps.. and I can’t wear it under my coat, when I zipped up over it my boobs were totally crushed.. I’ve never had that happen before :/ I think I’ve gotten too used to padded bras.. anyway super comfy and sexy so I think I may purchase this bra in the future but I don’t think I’d wear it out until summer.. either way I’m keen to try more elomi bras now, they feel made for my shape <3

As far as I understand it, the back riding up means the band is too big. What happens if you try a band size down/cup size up?

    • so dont tighten the straps so much?

    • but yeah, not sure why you think a larger band would be LESS likely to ride up?

    • Oh is that why.. I’ll try a smaller back bigger cup next time then.. but I found it quite difficult to do up as it was.. strange :/
dbmamaz i like tightening the straps because o prefer my boobs sit higher up.. it makes me feel sad to see them low lol

    • Sovavosi thanks

    • You’re welcome 😊

    • 2

If the band is sitting at the same place in the back as the front you're going to get a lot more lift. I found the band to be pretty firm but comfortable in this bra so sizing down in the band and up in the cup might feel better!

cupandahalf thank you, I will try that next time.

This is easily the most surprising bra I've ever put on. Support for days and days, and comfortable too. It's held up amazingly well, considering its been worn daily for six months (same bra). The center gore doesn't quite tack, and the cup clips are just now starting to break in to be one hand, but those are small considerations.

As a testament to the comfort of this bra, I developed acute mastitis about 5 months into nursing, and this bra was so much more comfortable to wear; I was advised to go without, which was absolutely excruciating.

Its not pretty, it's very utilitarian, but the shape, the ... comfort, and the function make for up it in spades. As long as it continues to fit, I will wear it, though I'm starting to shrink back into some of my other girls, so I will put them into rotation as they fit. If I were to get pregnant again, I would grab another of these bras in a heartbeat. I can't say enough about how happy I am with the support!

  7. Jocelyn Plunge Bra (8750)

    Holy stretchy band, Batman.

So, I love the pretty purple color this bra comes in. I love that I can wear my low-cut shirts again. But the very first thing I noticed is how stretchy the band is. I almost feel like I could have gotten away with ordering a 34HH instead of a 36H, it's that's stretchy. This gives me worries about how long the bra will last me, especially as I've been losing weight.

Beyond that: the lace on the cups does a good job at holding things in place, though it bothers me a bit that even that still covers SO MUCH of my breasts. I've ... become used to bras with such high gores that this one felt a bit weird at first, but today it feels fine. The straps are a bit wider than Elomi Caitlyn Underwire Side Support (8030) - one thing I love about that bra is that the straps don't feel like they're going to slide off my shoulders at any second, like my Panaches do (and I have wide shoulders), but Jocelyn's straps still aren't as wide as those bras, so it doesn't bother me much.

It is very, very comfy to wear (partly because of the super-stretchy band I'm sure), though I'm also starting to feel like my roots are probably not as wide as I had initially thought, or possibly that my breasts have changed some since I started wearing properly-fitting bras.

I do like this bra a lot though, and there is little in the way of plunges in this size range, so I'll take it. If the stretchy band causes it to wear out faster...well, I only paid $20 for it, so whatever.

  8. Caitlyn Underwire Side Support Bra (8030)

This is the first bra I bought after measuring myself and getting an idea of what size I should be wearing. The ABTF calculator put me at a 36HH/38H; after some research I decided to try a 36H first. I chose this bra to start off...primarily because it was the cheapest bra on amazon that had been recommended for my shape that was in my size.

It's great. I have a small bit of wrinkling on the top of the cup on my smaller breast, but it's not enough to need to size down. The sides are very high, but not enough to poke into my armpits or be ... uncomfortable. The wires are VERY wide, but they seem to be just right.

The only downside to the bra is how much coverage it has - the gore is very tall and it covers basically the entirety of my breasts, so it won't work with low-cut shirts without something underneath. However, it fits me great, it's very comfortable, the wires don't poke at me, and the straps stay in place. Very pleased with it.

This bra is my best fitting bra. I like how it contains all of my boobs. I like to wear this at work and I feel very comfortable and supported. I feel like I could do anything in this bra. I do wish it had more forward projection, instead it is more east west but not to the extreme. The wires are too wide for me but it doesn't bother me too much. I think i just need narrow wires and Elomi is on the high end of the spectrum. I was worried it would be pointy but it gives a nice shape underneath clothes. This is a full cup bra so it will show under lower cut shirts. I can wear it under some high neck v-necks so its not too bad because I can still wear half my work wardrobe with it. I definitely recommend this for anyone needing good support and experiencing back pain. This seriously takes the weight off your shoulders and neck.

I'm looking for a bra with wide cups and wires.

    As I measure in between a 34 and 36, I bought this in a 36H.

As it turns out, it's too large in both the band and the cup.

However, the shape seems to be about right.

This is certainly my most comfortable every-day bra. I have 5 of them now, that should tell you something!
It's great in full coverage, which I like. All of the breast tissue fits inside the cup, the wires come up pretty high. On my body that is not a problem.
It comes in a lot of pretty colours. I have 3 purple ones, a saphire blue and a nude. I saw other fun colours recently as well.
It lifts the girls to where they should be and make me look so much better, clothes fit better too.
Bought the first ones in 2010, recently got the 3 purple ones in January of 2012.
I get about a year out of these bra's, with weekly washing (machine gentle, hang to dry). As soon as it's necessary to go to the tighter hooks it's pretty much time to replace them. I hope Elomi keeps making these bra's for a long time to come.

This bra looks amazing, it’s so comfy, and I love the color and lace! Unfortunately, there isn’t enough room for my boobs, so I’d have to size up a few sizes and then the wires will be around my back. So, bummer.

It’s that great Elomi quality and appearance. Very comfortable! It’s banded, too, which I love.

I personally think it looks great on me besides the gore not tacking.

The one thing I could go without is the window in the gore, I’m not a huge fan of that aesthetic.

    *sigh*

This is my 6th? Elomi Morgan I’ve tried. The wires are a great width, the depth ratio seems right, but somehow this bra still doesn’t work out.

I must have massively heavy boobs or something because they push EVERY bra down! This one fit pretty okay until I do a lot of movement and bounce a little bit. After that happens, my boobs push the bottom down and try to escape out the top. The gore is 2 fingers width away from my sternum and if I tack it, I quad really bad.

In terms of quality/comfort/etc...Elomi’s bras are top quality, there’s no doubt about that. Morgan is the most comfortable Elomi bra I’ve ever tried, I think. I’m not fond of this color/pattern, so I’m meh on appearance for this one.

I wish I could find a dang bra that fits.

    • Adler613 here’s how the 36H Morgan worked out.

    • Hmm, so this is usually how bras fit me when they're one size too big. It's like the wire is slightly too big, so the whole bra is sliding down, and it acts too small when there's actually a little room. Your breasts could be denser than mine, so sizing down might not work. But with the torpedo shape this bra is giving you plus the little bit of extra width it has, I'm wondering if getting the wire snugger around your roots would make it fit despite less volume in the actual cup? Elomi runs so big, too.

    • pretty_promise I love the way you describe the fit issue that I usually have- during the day the bra gets pushed down and so I get quadding AND wrinkling. Super frustrating. I would say so far the Elomi Kim has been my best find for this, but it still has this issue. Please let me know when you find a bra that does not do this, and I will do the same! :-)

This is a well-constructed bra, but it appears to be too big for me. I thought it was too small, but now that I better understand bra fit, I realize it is so snug at the top because it is too big and low at the bottom It might fit better in a 36G or 36GG, but I think it also just be too shallow of a style for my shape.

On me, the band is ton the loosest hooks and the gore tacks. Unfortunately, everything else is too big: the top of the cups is empty (I can fold 1/2" of fabric over itself on both sides), there is lots of wrinkling at the inner bottom part of the cups and the side fabric fold over itself where it touches my Tail of Spence. The fabric is very soft, which I like, and the color is a good neutral for a very white-skinned person like myself. I will be returning this bra.

I really want this bra to fit, but it doesn't quite fit. The band is comfortable and the gore mostly tacks, but it slightly "turns left" to rest on my larger, left breast. The bottom of the cups is well filled and doesn't give me the strange "square boob" effect I often get but the top of the cups is much too big, with lots of wrinkling going on. I will (unfortunately) be returning this bra.

I bought this bra in an online shop based on Bratabase recommendations.
It somehow fits although I have some issues with it. First, the central gore is not laying flat, and the sides are empty and the fabric is shrinking. At the same time, the band is parallel to the ground, cups are full at the top, the band is hooked to the last row.
The cups are soft, what is a bit of disappointment: I can see my nipples in some cases. Stretchy lace in nude color looks a bit cheap.
I don't like the shape, it is too round for me, I prefer more lifted shape like Panache Jasmine.
The bra is very soft, the band is not cutting into my body. Straps are wide and lay on my shoulders nicely.
