  1. Etta Bandless Bra (8840)

    Fits

This bra is excellent for petite/short ladies!

It's softer then I initially expected based on other reviews.

The wires are narrow and don't come up too high in the arm pits

The band feels very true to size

The bra feels like air. I love that it's bandless! More companies need to make Bandless options for those of us that need them! It's nice not to have a stupid band rolling under.

The colour is meh. But alas! It fits so who cares?! Not this girl lol

I do think I might need a cup size up as I'm between GG and H with elomi. There's not massive spillage anywhere just some loose skin in the top of the cup

I would say this is a great option for this cup size! It handles these pendulous....super soft.....post 4+ years of lactating breasts brilliantly.

      Great news!

    • 2

It's great for short ladies, you say?

    • 1

It's actually marketed for petites! Says it right in the description which is why I had to try it!

I might order the H and see if it eliminates the top tissue minor spill. It's very minor. Lol the next size up might gape.

Give it a try! I was pleasantly surprised.

    • 2

I heard short and came running, lol. How's the cup shape?

    • 1

      I like the shape :-)

I will take side shots and add them.

Its by far the comfiest fit under the breasts and armpits on this short torso lol

    • I'm glad you found one that works for you.

I'm wearing a recently purchased elomi Etta in 38HH right now. For months I've been searching for a bra that fits and this is the closest that I've come to getting the fit right.

I got it partly because it's supposed to be for petite frames. I'm not petite (5' 4-1/2") but have been having problems with the sides being too tall for me on other bras that I tried.

For me, the wires are so high on my sides that they poke my fatty tissue and the wires are a hair too wide but not as bad as the elomi Rita. I was surprised by how tall they are. But still, it's the closest bra that I've found to fitting me.

I like the construction. It seems very well made and durable. I have to wear the 38HH on the middle hooks to be properly snug. I also bought it in sister size 36J and that band is a bit too tight but the cups fit except for the wire problem.

I guess my point is that while it's marketed for petite frames, it may not work for petite or even non-petite ladies. I guess my breasts must be high set or something. I don't know. It's still a very nice bra.

    • 1

Ooh, I was a bit interested in this one..being a bit vertically challenged myself ;). But wondered how wide the wires were, but you mentioned narrow..DO you think it runs small, average or large cupwise?(Not exactly sure on my size in elomis.

    • 1

I think if I was full on top...I'd have needed my normal H cup size. The GG fits me in the cups aside from a teeny bit of loose skin spill in the top of the cups. I'm going to grab the H cup as well for comparison. Compared to the Elomi Caitlyn I have the wires are much narrower and the wings lower. I think the Bandless aspect of the bra makes a HUGE difference with the fit if you are short/petite or struggle with rolling bands under your breasts. There is no stretch in these cups at all (but not uncomfy) I know some ladies that are full on top rely on stretch with certain styles/sizes.

If I can find what my curious 4 year old did with my tape I will tag you with the measurement NaturallySo and dani

    • Thanks EllieRoo . I'm a bit more even fullness than anything. Not sure if I'd need G or GG(36 band- unless super stretchy). So am curious to see the measurements.

So, I initially thought this bra fit really well, almost perfect.
Well, I wore it for several hours - and the issues kept cropping up.
Firstly, the band is tight - yet it creeps up in the middle to make a reverse U shape. It’s tight though so it digs in under my breasts. My best guess is that the wires are too flexible, so they don’t support the construction, which leads to the straps having to hold up my breasts, thus putting a large strain on the band in the back. I’ve tried this bra with a looser band, but it simply gives the same issues, just even ... worse upwards creep in the back.
Compared to my Freya bras, the wires are just useless - I’m currently trying out a Freya Offbeat (75J/34GG) and the wires are much stiffer and supportive.
I wonder if I could replace the wire in this Elomi Morgan with my worn out Freya Viva ones (the bra size in those is 32GG though)?

In conclusion, I will be returning this Elomi Morgan, as the bra’s wires can’t hold up my breasts without pulling very badly on the shoulder straps.

    • Did you do a band test. (Putting bra on back to front, upside down, under bust. Band should only be able to be moved/stretched bout an inch and no more then an inch and a half. I am over a K cup and even squeezing into a K I don't get this issue on the shoulders. Straps appear to be done up too tight. I wonder if you going up a cup would help. The wires curve further back at the back under my armpit on this one.

    • KatrinaKatrina thank you for the feedback - I noticed the straps were quite tight, but it’s not possible to make them longer. I think that’s what’s making the problems. They might just not be long enough for me ~ I tried buying the bra in a band size smaller (32H in uk size) because I thought perhaps the band was not tight enough, even though it’s way stiffer and less stretchy than my Freya bras.
The band in that size is just a tad too tight for me and the straps are still not long enough.
I’m pretty sad about it, I’m not very handy with sewing. Just incredibly annoying that the straps are too short grr

    • I would have kept the one in 34GG if it wasn’t for the fact that in that band size it seems to be loose, so when I bend over you can get your hand beneath the band in front, it’s very disturbing haha

    • Remember that when you go smaller in the band size from 34 to say 32 you need to then up the cup size. A cup size in 34GG is not equal to the cup size in 32GG. There is a good sight called boob or bust to explain this. I would go onto this sight or their facebook page as they have some good images to explain this. Band is sounds too loose from your description. Hope this info will help you.

    • Hi. Sorry I didn't read the comment saying you tried the 32H already. Band test is first thing you focus on before even thinking about the cups. You do this with the band back to front. Band should only be able to pull out by an inch. If the band passes this test then you can then focus on the cup. If the cup is still small in this band size the breast tissue will push into the band making it to feel tight. In this case you would need a bigger cup size so a 32HH. Remember to scoop and swoop also to get all your breast tissue into the cup.

    • 1

What happens when you loosen the straps (or are they already let out as far as they can go)? A lot of women with fuller busts are in the habit of overtightening straps at least slightly.
Elomi is not particularly known for flimsy wires so if letting out the straps does not solve the issue, I agree with you that the band may be too firm.

KatrinaKatrina that "test" is not a good one as manual pulling does not represent an elasticated band's performance on the body faithfully enough. Depending on cut, construction and materials, bands that can be pulled out quite far with the hand will anchor very nicely on the body for years of regular wear, while other bands that seem impossible to pull out more than an inch could be flapping in the wind in 2 months' time because they are cheaply made (or are just too tight for that wearer).

A more reliable, and far simpler test is to turn the bra upside down just as you suggested, take a few steps, lift arms, do a couple stretches while breathing naturally-- and see if the band stays where it is or not.

This might be as close as I get to my replacement for an Elomi Tia (discontinued) which is the only bra that doesn't get under my armpits and poke me, and although the gore on that one doesn't lie flat, it's comfortable enough with the angle the gore sits on top of each other.

This is very soft material, however the top of the lace pushes down a little bit on my breast tissue so it could potentially cause some rubbing/irritation. The main issue for me is that the cups (although too wide I'm aware but generally what I have to put up with) are too high and poking a little in my arm pit/arm crack area. Now I have some sensory issues so anytime I get new clothing I am HYPER aware of the fit. It looks like it fits beautifully. The center gore lies flat and that's a surprise given how tall it is. I normally need 3 inches or less. The wings are higher than my current fit as well.

    Didn't fit

This review is for the Elomi Kim Plunge bra in 34GG. My ABTF size is 32G/GG UK (or more) depending on projection. This size was recommended to me by Breakout Bras.

    Band:
    * Measured from 29 to 32 before wires distorted.

    Wires:
    * Very firm.

    Cups:
    * Three-piece cups plus side support. Low centre front gives a plunge without push up

    Fabric:
    * Comfortable.

About me: very close set (breasts touch), very narrow roots, very projected at the wire, functionally even to full on bottom, short roots, relatively soft tissue, significant rib flares, narrow shoulders.

    FIT

    * I hooked this on the middle hook. Not very surprising considering it's a 34 and I'm a 32. I was surprised ... that at 31 inches the wires started to distort when measuring.
    * The gore tacked HARD; it felt like there was a piece of cardboard keeping everything aligned. Not a love match. But it was a low gore which I liked.
    * The cups were very tall for me and I didn't fill the tops. The wires are not narrow enough for me at all and it does not have enough immediate projection for me. I didn't get the roundness suggested by their website description and pictures so this isn't a match for me at any size. https://www.elomilingerie.com/row/en/lingerie/bras/plunge-bras/kim-uw-plunge-bra---stretch/p/el4340cal/
    * The straps are long enough.
    * The sides are a comfortable height for me.

    OVERALL IMPRESSION
    * I didn't find a match here at all.

Unfortunately no measurements for this bra.

I remember this one being too small in the cups by far. The gore floated majorly. Band was comfortable, and honestly the whole bra was comfortable but it was a terrible fit.

I tried Cate in many other sizes (34H, 34HH, and 34J) by never found a good fit. The gore was too tall and wide for me in this model.

Shockingly good fit on first glance. I bought it used on eBay in a fit of desperation after weight gain when I couldn't justify attempting to resize into Comexim. Sure, the wires are wider and the cup covers more of my chest, but it seems to have sufficient immediate projection without cutting in at the center. I'm encouraged enough to try other Elomi styles.
Update 12/2018: Weight loss/shape change & this is way too big in the band now; it was probably a generous 34 anyway.

Pretty full cup bra with cup bottoms in a satiny fabric and cup tops in mesh. The straps are fairly centered on the cups, which works better with my shape. There are 3 hooks per row on the back, which makes this bra feel sturdier than its 2-hook counterparts. Overall, this bra is quite comfortable for me; I fill the cups well and the gore tacks. My only issue with is is that the elastic at the bottom of the band tends to roll up part way through the day, which becomes painful overtime. I have found that shortening the straps helps with this issue, probably since the bra stays in my IMF better when the straps are shorter. Overall, a dependable everyday bra.

Thanks for the comment about the band loosening after a few wears & washes. I find the 36" too tight and the 38" too loose. I'm keeping both sizes to try with an extender (36") and tighter hooks (38") to see which one works better over time. From your comment, looks like it will be the 36". Thanks.

this was the first bra I've gotten at an extended size shop. I was so excited about how comfortable it was that I took it home, despite the cool reaction from the sales lady. Once I got it home, I realized the cups are actually too small for me. She did hint that I'm more of a 32HH . . . but it still does a better job than anything I have. (I have been wearing all-cotton bras from decent exposure).

Anyways, as I checked out the fit of the bra, I realized it IS near perfect aside from my larger boob clearly not staying ... inside of it. It is pinchy - but i havent worn underwires regularly in decades, so maybe thats me.

I also found it comes in purple now - so I'm trying to get up the nerve to splurge on a 34H in purple. I'm just starting to find bras that really fit - I'm planning on returning to the workforce next year and need to do whatever I can to look more youthful https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":-(" />

This elomi is not padded but has no pattern so it doesn't show through t-shirts. It stretched out in the band pretty quickly, so I'm on the last hook already - and pushes me off to the side more than the 34GG - Elomi » Caitlyn Underwire Side Support (8030). Good quality and supportive, but not as comfortable as the Caitlyn, either. I definitely want to take this off at the end of the day - it digs into my sternum.

The good The mesh fabric is cool and comfortable, and the lift and support are great. The gore is low and very comfortable. It comes it so many great colors.

The not so good: This size was recommended by Bratabase, but for me, the wires feel too long, and the wing height is too high. I get wrinkling at the top, bottom and sides of the cups. I wish this bra worked for me, but the fit is not right in this or the 34G.

However, if it works for your shape, I think you will love it!

I had a feeling from looking at images of this bra that it would be a shape mismatch because I have never fit well in full coverage bras, but I decided to give a try because it was so widely recommended. And indeed, it was bad. I'm probably in a cup size too large, but I don't think going down would fix that. The underwire extends very far wide, and there is a ton of empty room at the top of the bra. Also, the core twisted oddly. Despite being very high, the gore didn't poke me, and I think it's because this bra was pushing by breasts apart and they were not as close together at the top as they sit in most bras.

This Charley fits slightly more like Morgan when I compare it to the 4380 version of the Charley. The top part of the stretch lace cups have a line of elastic along the top which cuts into my tissue. Going up a cup size might fix that, but I'm also not filling out the bottom of this one like I do in the 4380, making me think it's less projected. This underwire seems slightly more stiff than my Matilda and as I wear it, it's not totally comfortable. The wires are wide on me and I think going up a cup size might make that worse... not sure if I should try.

The cups on this Charley seem very small, but it might be due to the non-stretch lace and embroidery on the top half. It's a beautiful bra, but slightly scratchy (even more so than the Matilda). Definitely need to size up at least one cup size in this if I try it again. The projection is decent, so I might try it in a different size without the embroidery to see if that makes it more comfortable.

Since my new favorite bra is the Matilda, I wanted to give this one a try. Unfortunately, the fit is more different than I wanted. The elastic strip along the top of the cups dips into my tissue and creates an indent. Not sure if it's a too-small cup size issue or just the way that style is going to fit me. This bra has a good amount of projection, and I really like the non-lace bottom half of the cup and sides.
