  1. Ginger Plunge Bra (365)

    Fits

After I made the mistake of ordering the Ingrid and the Georgia in a 65H, I went to re-order the both of them and, since I was more confident that the 65HH would fit, looked for another bra to add to my cart. I found the Ginger and was very intrigued. The picture made it look like it had a slightly lower gore than the other plunges (something I've been looking for) and the little old lady in me adores little lacy things. So I ordered it--and I'm so, so glad that I did.

The Ginger does indeed have a low gore: it's only 1.75 inches tall. I haven't ... encountered a gore that low in a long, long time, as it seems that most bras in my size range and with my level of projection have high gores in order to hold everything in. My breasts are decently firm and so I don't need as much to be held in in the middle, and in addition to that I've got close-set breasts and don't like it when gores poke at my breast tissue (my one complaint about my beloved Marcies).

So I'm already raving about the plunge construction (which looks great, by the way--I haven't had this much breast exposed in a long time, either), but the general construction of the bra is lovely, too. The cups are well-constructed and lift my breasts nicely. The inside of the cups is soft and lovely. I have sensitive skin that can't always handle lace on my bras, and the Ginger doesn't aggravate my skin at all. Like all my other Comexim bras, the cups are nicely narrow and the straps don't irritate my armpits.

The Ginger is the widest and shallowest of the Comexim bras that I have tried, but honestly, that's not saying much. The other bras have been very narrow and very nicely projected, and the Ginger is only a fraction of an inch wider and shallower. I think that it perhaps helps a tiny bit, even, with the cleavage-y cut. The other thing I've noticed is that all of the Comexim cups I've encountered thus far have been pliable but pretty sturdy, and the Ginger is a tad less stiff than the others. Still not flimsy, but a little different and something to keep in mind. That also comes into play with the cup construction--of all my Comexim bras, the Ginger is the most forgiving at the top edge of the cup, very good if you have any trouble with the tops of the cups coming in too quickly.

Gorgeous bra which makes me feel equally gorgeous. I highly recommend it.

    • I've been considering Ginger - thanks for the review! I was wondering if there is any chance you are interested in selling? Just thought I would throw that out there!

    Fits

I ordered the Tara at the same time as my 32K - Comexim » Sofia Half Cup 3hc Padded Underwire Longline Br, and found the fit of these two bras to be quite different. The Tara is not just unpadded, but unlined, and the cups are very open on top. The cups are made of a stiff lace with a very open framework, giving an overall sheer effect. It was fine under a medium weight knit dress, but a bit nipple-y under a T-shirt. The cups fit with no gaps or wrinkles, and when I first bought it, the gore tacked perfectly. ... The longline tends to flip up in the front over time, but stays put in the back, and has helped a lot with my back. Right now, the gore is tacking on only the left side (my smaller breast), but I think that is do to PMS-related swelling. Maybe unpadded longline Comexims are the way to go for me. I'm eyeing that new one that just showed up on Breakout Bras...
Since I think the "bras that fit her" might still be a bit wonky: other bras that currently fit me are 32JJ - Elomi » Mariella Banded Bra (EL4420) , 32JJ - Elomi » Sachi Plunge Bra (4350) , 32K - Flirtelle » Alice Balconette Bra (FL7801) , and 32JJ - Panache » Envy Balconnet Bra (7285). Also, M - Cosabella » Never Say Never Ultra Curvy Sweetie Bralette (N and other bralettes in the Cosabella Ultra Curvy line are working pretty well for me at the moment.

  3. Jasmine Padded Plunge (618)

    Fits

About me: Tall roots, low set, centre-full, projected but self-supporting, even vertical fullness, average-to-narrow roots but functionally narrow, somewhat close set, firm tissue. Average width shoulders but muscular-ish.

Overview: I love this bra, I wear it almost every day. It's super comfy, and pretty. It's nice and smooth under clothes and gives a forward, rounded shape, as is common in Polish bras. The plunge cut is fairly deep and it is good to wear under lower necklines.
I do find with Comexim bras I have to "break them in" to my shape, I find they fit better with regular wear and basically mould ... themselves to my body, which gives a truly made-to-measure feeling. I think when you first get them the foam padding in the cups is more stiff and flat, but with wear it softens and stretches. This is something I've noticed across the board with all my Comexims.

Details: I find with this particular model it is far more stretchy all over than my other Comexims. The band is super stretchy, and the cups themselves have a lot of stretch too. This makes it comfortable for all day wear, but I do have to wear it on the second set of hooks rather than the loosest hooks. I measure at a 26 band and usually I'm not too picky about my bands being a little loose, however despite this being a 28 band I think because it's so so stretchy I feel like I could even fasten it tighter. The cups being stretchy causes them to pull away from my boobs at the top edge of the cup and leave a little gap because my boobs are firm and push the apex of the cup outwards. This doesn't affect the comfort, or the appearance under clothes because it's such a very tiny gap.

  4. Pearl Flower Mint Plunge Bra (390)

Okay, I'm trying to catch up on my bra reviews! IMO, this was the perfect summer padded plunge *for me* (for my shape!) If this bra review looks like Deja vu, well, it was previously reviewed one cup size smaller (70H) https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dn96t/ I will try to add a few more interesting details.

#1. Some other reviews say - this is a very light fabric, or a lighter bra. I agree that it is (compared to some of my other Comexims!), but the price is lower and also: it works well as a summer plunge that way because the materials used are not that heavy.

I kept ... reaching for this bra so many times this summer (which was hotter weather than usual!), and this was definitely the padded bra I wore the most. So, if anyone lives in a warm climate, and you like the colours of this bra, I recommend this bra for a comfortable lightly padded bra in warmer weather (if you have a shape similar to mine).

#2. Despite the fact that the materials used are a bit lighter, the fit is the same, only I noticed that I did not have gaping on my smaller side (which I usually do with Comexim padded bras b/c I'm not perfectly even, and I fit to my larger breast). I surmise the white padding is maybe a little lighter? hence the cost? But I truly can't tell. I'm comparing it to my other bras, and the padding is a different colour, but seems about the same as far as thickness. (maybe a little lighter, but it's hard to tell.)

My stats: projected, FOB, center-full, narrow roots & close-set breasts. My root height is average, although when I gain weight, it seems like I gain it on the top of my boobs. I find that Polish bras work best for my shape, esp b/c I have narrow roots and close-set breasts; I can not wear bras with wide gores, and I don't like the excess space that comes with the wide underwires in some UK brands - it's just empty space on me. I will probably pack this bra away for next summer though - I want to keep it in great shape. It was well worth the money. I wore it a lot and it's still like new.

The price was $125 zloty + $22 zloty on Comexim.pl, the shipping took about 3 weeks to Canada. I initially determined my Comexim size from comparing data on bratabase.

    55J

    Fits

I received this bra from another user and have had it for about a month. Currently, it is my best fitting bra, surpassing my Elena in 55J. The Elena has a lowered gore and I find that I prefer the regular gore height, given that it is narrow and overlapping.

    To begin, the aesthetics:
The satiny rose colored floral fabric is absolutely beautiful! It's my kind of aesthetic. Under clothing, seams are visible under thin, tight, knits, but not other things.

    The band:
The band is comfortable on the loosest hooks, but it's slightly looser than my Elena, despite being much newer. The inner fabric is a substantial dense ... mesh and on the outside is the satiny fashion fabric. The elastic has a soft fabric backing so it doesn't dig in or irritate. This size of bra only has 2 hooks for column unfortunately.

    The cups:
The cups are just about as close as I can get to a perfect fit. I have significant asymmetry, with almost 2" difference in horizontal perimeter, so no bra will be perfect. However, the cups are stretchy enough to accommodate my bigger side and not gape on the smaller side. (This bra has cookie pockets, but I don't have any cookies, so this review is about the fit as-is).

    The straps:
Placed acceptably wide. Would be nice if they were closer together, but they're not uncomfortable. They're fully adjustable.

For reference, I'm very short with a small frame, projected, FOB, close set and narrow.

This is one of the sale bras right now...wondering if you can confirm if this is a standard plunge with narrow and deeper cups or one of the wide and shallow plunges?

    • Calluna I believe it is a regular plunge rather than the one with the shallower/wider cups and lower gore like Ginger. You can compare the measurements to my Elena which is in the same size with same alterations.

    • Calluna I found this one in my size quite shallow.

  6. Dalia Half Cup

    7
    like

    75HH

    Fits

2nd Comexim for me, first half cup, and first with alterations. I think it’s a good one!

About me: I think I’m FOB, pendulous, projected, centre full, close set, narrow to average width roots, short roots.

I think this fits pretty well, much better than the plunge. I did order a size up from my plunge, made as 3HC with straps moved in 1cm and reduced cup height by 1cm. I think that the alterations were done, I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it fits as though they were done? Anyway, if the straps were wider set it definitely would not have worked for me. ...

Fit: this bra feels really nice so far! I wore it for a day and had no issues (crossing fingers). The band is stretchy and soft, it feels snug enough but it’s definitely stretchier than the basic plunge. Hopefully it doesn’t stretch out quickly. The straps are also quite stretchy but adjust short enough for me. Gore came overlapped (I think they do this without requesting now, correct me if I’m wrong), 4x3 sets of hooks, and it is a padded 3 part half cup. Definitely more projected than my basic plunger in 75H but short enough for my short roots. It gives me a nice rounded side profile and rounded shape under a shirt.
I am premenstrual right now so I’m a bit bigger/swollen. Hoping it still fits when I’m back to usual size.

Appearance: this bra is made of a soft silky like material with very lightweight soft padded cups. The colour is a muted red with a faint navy blue abstract print and navy blue straps. It is quite beautiful.

Ordering experience: there was actually some confusion with the size and alterations but it ended up working out for me. I emailed Joanna with photos of the basic plunge on me and she had suggested staying with the 75H with straps moved in 2cm. I originally put in the order notes 75HH with straps moved in 1 cm and cup height reduced by 1cm. Then I put in the order notes what Joanna suggested to me. Thank goodness they went with my original request, there’s no way a 75H would have fit me. So it ended up working out for me in the end.

Bottoms: I did order the matching bikini style panties in large. It’s too snug and makes me look terribly fat lol. For reference my hip measurement is around 42” and I wear large in aerie underwear.

In summary, this works much better for me than the plunge cut. Actually this is my favourite bra currently!

Any feedback is welcome as I’m still very new to comexim!

How long did it take you to get your bra from Comexim in the mail? Time of order to ---> at your doorstep?

    • 2

BraOdyssey it took about a month from order date to delivery (to Canada)

    • 1

wow, that's good. I've heard two months, but maybe that was before Christmas, for their black Friday sale.

    • 1

BraOdyssey my first order took over 2 months because they lost the order email! So this time around I emailed asking them to confirm that they received my order LOL

    • 2

I'm new to Comexim too so can't really offer any feedback but I think the Dalia looks amazing on you! Such a pretty bra, glad it worked out x

    • 1

sincerity thank you! Thank goodness it did, as I’m sick of ordering and returning bras lol

    • 1

margesimpson , wow, the halfcup style seems to work well for you. From what I can tell, you seem to have more of a petite frame.

Their plunge seems to work okay with me - even though I have short roots - I surmise b/c I'm on the taller side (I'm 5'7 and a half). so, even though I have short roots, my boobs are still kind of long-ish where they're attached to my frame, and so it makes the plunge work okay on me.

We'll talk Comexim styles/sizes some other time!

I actually purchased my second E.M. bra today...a couple days after I said I wouldn't bra shop for 6 mos or something...It's just that I needed a dark bra in my new proper size (b/c all the rest are white or nude). Ha ha.

    • 1

BraOdyssey thank you! It does magically work for me, it’s super comfortable and I like how it looks under a shirt. I’m actually not that petite I’m 5’6” but I think my shoulders are narrow. Anyway, the plunge was too narrow for me yet too open on top.

Ohhh another EM? looking forward to your review so we can discuss haha
I’m trying to hold back on buying another as I have enough bras right now....but I’m itching to try a different EM cut lol

    Hasn't set fit

Alterations: Reduced cups, straps moved in, cookie pockets, 1 cm extra depth at the wire. The first three were done, unsure about the extra depth. But since this fits better than my Lavender with reduced cups only, I think they did add 1 cm—or maybe it's because this cut is less closed than the other plunges.

This is almost perfect, but since I requested the same alterations on two other bras that don't fit (one actually ended up smaller than the first iteration with reduced cups only), I'm not exactly hopeful that this can be replicated. I'll just be satisfied that I finally got the cute bra-print bra, on ... the fourth try. I've basically been doing all these trials for the bra and bird prints 😂

I really love Comexim, but the hit or miss alterations are getting to me. Especially since I've had three Avocado orders in a row that were pretty great, not always the *perfect* fit bc I need the shortest bras, but all wearable and fancy.

I've been all over the place on what to do, but I think I'm probably better off sticking with 55J 3HC, maybe with extra depth at the wire, to minimize disappointments or—if I ever want to take another chance (probably not lol)—55J plunge with reduced cups (13.5-14 cm cup height seems to be my sweet spot), straps moved in, reduced gore.

Or I'll just shop around some more until I can find a sure thing, because I do like the less cake-y shape of the plunge. I asked about the Ewa Michalak S today, and it seems like the cup height is similar to the Comexim reduced cup plunges in this size range, so maybe I'll try that sometime. Wide-set straps might be worth it for a consistent cut.

Update: Ewa Michalak S starts at 55G. I think that might be too large for me, but I'll keep it in mind.

Ah this is the plunge Adele? You were talking about this, not the lavender! So glad you at least got something almost perfect but yeah, it's hard to have the alteration guaranteed each time. I think the basics do run the tiniest bit smaller, even with alterations, that's just how it might be, idk. The other one, no clue why the depth of that one is so small, it's basically a 55H with .5 cm more!

    • 2

MeeM_13 Yeah, I decided to keep the Lavender and the 55J 3HC since they're not *that* bad. I think the basics run a little smaller too, but it seems less noticeable in the 3HCs. I'm about over trying plunge alterations now lol. I didn't think moving in the straps could affect depth so much! I might as well stick with the 3HC for the cute prints, and maybe try the Ewa Michalak S someday.

    • 2

airymoon I typed out a long reply and it disappeared when I came back :( I'm glad you got 3 good enough bras out of this. I'd definitely be sick of all the alteration combos and whatever. Maybe you'll find luck with 55J 3hcs or plunges with reduced cups, like you said 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 Good to know that the depth changes if you ask for the straps moved in. I was thinking to order unlined bras sometime and thought straps moved in would be okay but I think I'd just ask for them to made into 3hcs. Thing about EM is I've not seen it on many smaller/smaller-medium breasts. They say they're all sizes inclusive but even their "small" isn't small enough. In my mind, their bras are only for bigger boobs. If you do order them, I'd love to know how they work out for you!

    • 2

I like my 60F CHP! It's probably a better fit on larger days though, but a 60E is too small for me. The straps are as wide set as the Karina I sent you though, which is a bummer. I think I'm going to try a 55FF S soon, so I'll let you know what I think 😂

    • 2

How do you find Comexim's 3HC compares to the plunge fit?

    • 3

The 3HCs are less projected and give me a push-up/cakes on a plate look. The plunges I've tried have been more closed on top, except for this Adele, which is possibly why it fits better.

    • 1

      ComeAtMe_Bra Forgot to tag you!

    • 1

airymoon Thanks! The 55J plunge you sent me fits pretty much perfectly, as does my previous one, but it sounds like the 3HC won't work so well with projected/FOB. I prefer the 3HC "cakes" shape though 😅

    • 1

      ComeAtMe_Bra That's great! I size up for the 3HCs (55HH plunge vs 55J 3HC) so maybe a 55K would suit you? I'm also projected/FOB.

    Didn't fit

I told myself I wasn't going to try any more Comexim bras, but I thought having a bra print bra was too hilarious to pass up. I ordered the Adele from Breakout Bras in a 32K (Bratabase auto-converted to 70O). This bra seems to run larger in the cup than my 70O - Comexim » Piume Blu (CMPIUMEB) and 70O - Comexim » Miss Bee-have Half Cup 3hc bras. There is massive gapping in the cups at the center and some near the strap, and the gore doesn't come anywhere close to tacking no matter how much I swoop and scoop. I tried on my Piume Blu to see if maybe I had just gotten smaller recently, but it still fits me about the same as before. I'm not sure why there is such a difference between the Adele and the Piume Blu in the exact same size and cut.

It looks cute on you, sorry it didn’t work out. I guess because they’re handmade there’s always a chance that the same size and cut will fit differently. Although this seems majorly different from your other comexims. Maybe you could let them know and get an exchange?

A lot of people seem interested in unlined bras from comexim and for good reason, they're so hard to find and even if they're added, there isn't much information available.

First thing that comes to mind is that the band feels stretchier, almost looser when compared to their lined bras. It's still a 26 but I just like my bands extra snug so, if I were to order directly from comexim, I'd maybe ask for 50 (do they even still do 50 bands? I heard they don't). The hooks are 2 by 4.

I got this bra from someone else who asked for the reduced cups alteration and even ... then, the cups are too tall for me. The cup depth is great, it doesn't slighty squish like the 3HCs, it's a true fit. It is slightly narrower than the 3HCs, as the plunges are. The cup depth is also a bit larger (0.5-0.8 cm, depending on the 3HC, handmade variation). The straps are very wide. They cause a slight fit issue because the straps are not straight, if they were to sit well on my shoulders, causes slight gaping in some angles. That's really not an issue since all unlined bras gape on me, in some way. I'd suggest asking for the straps to be moved in and the other alterations you normally ask with your lined plunges. I'd like for the unlined bras to be made into 3HCs or at least have the straps moved in with the reduced cup alteration, when I plan on ordering from comexim directly. I have seen and heard that it is possible.

It gives a beautiful shape under clothes. It gives a rounded, natural look. Basically my breasts but a bit bigger and slightly rounded because it's all in one place. The lace does reallyyy show through at the top and even though there's no gaping, the lace sorta bends outwards sometimes and moves away from the bra a bit. I don't know if I'm making sense. The only negative point for me is how much it shows through.

The quality is great, doesn't feel delicate or flimsy. It's a very pretty bra and quite sexy, if only it didn't cover my entire breasts.

Overall, it is still the best fitting unlined bra I own, for now. There is no gaping most of the time, barely any wrinkling, no squishing. Would recommend trying the unlined comexim bras if you struggle with unlined bras.

Edit- after wearing it around for a while, it's very comfy and the gaping magically disappears. it's like a comfy bralette.

This looks good on you! yes, I am interested in unlined Comexims, and curious about the fit compared to their padded plunges, lol.
It looks really comfy from the pictures!

    • 3

MeeM_13 , I wanted to do a little write-up on comexim padded plunges measurements/sizing this week and tag you! But I don't know if I will this week...

    • 1

Thanks! I kinda feel it doesn't look too great on me but it really is comfy! Also, I definitely would like to know how they compare. The person I got them from said they fit similarly. Makes sense. Why not this week? Well, whenever you do, tag me!

    • BraOdyssey ^forgot to tag you

    • 2

Beautiful! If it's comfy I'd consider it a win!
Thanks for reviewing, so interesting how little info there is on unlined Comexims.

I'm super curious to try one, but especially in the K+ sizes there seem to be quite a bit of scaling and sizing issues..

There's this blog review by kermitdafrog21 http://bra.pe/XSok/ / https://bratoday.wordpress.com/2016/06/13/comexim-musetta/ which kind of makes me scared to order one!

    • 1

bubblegum hmmm very interesting, the blog review. The cup depth was only 29 something cm for a size that is supposed to be quite a bit bigger than 55HH, the cup depth with this one is 20.7cm. I mean, there's no way that would fit a 70N! Must be very frustrating, bigger breasts are getting represented more but most of the fit problems I see have to do with bigger breasted people! (Not to say smaller sizes don't have problems but you get my point)

    • 2

Looks great! Thank you for this review. I’ve been trying to find more info on smaller band sizes for my daughter. She’s very petite, 4’10” and 96 pounds. I recently got her a Comexim Basic in a 28DD and it’s working pretty good so far, tho I think she could go down a band since she measures at 26” underbust. Any data you add is always helpful.

    • 1

Happy2BraShop , wow, it's great that she has you as her mom - bra expert!

Of course for more reasons than that I'm sure, lol. : )

It will prob be easier to order 26 bands from Comexim? v. Ewa Michalak. I think one has to submit their measurements to Ewa (at least that's what I read from Marilynne) to get them to make a 26 band.

    • 1

BraOdyssey Thank you. I try my best and fly by the seat of my pants like most parents. Haha.
I’ve personally never ordered anything smaller than a 30 from EM. The 28DD happened to be at BreakOutBras. We gave it a shot since it was returnable. She ended up loving it. I just had to bend the wires out every so slightly on one side due to her scoliosis.
The Comexim cup definitely fits well. The band fits pretty snug, but I think the Basic in general tan tighter than other Comexim bras. I showed her the bra shared here in this review and she loved the pattern. I think Comexim is def the way to go as far as any alterations needed. And that’s for anyone in any size who needs customization.

    75HH

    Fits

Second try at the Comexim plunge for me. Feedback welcome!

I’m torn about the fit. There is some gapping at the top of the cups and it’s loose in the upper cup. I had to tighten the straps more than I like to help eliminate the gaps. Everything else fits well. Band is TTS, gore is fine, bottom and width of cups are good. Having the straps moved in 2 cm definitely helped, although the straps on the plunge are much wider set than my 3HCs. I like the shape the bra gives.

I know that technically I “should” fit into 75H, since I wear 75HH in the 3HC, ... however when I tried this previously the cups cut in at the sides and felt like there wasn’t enough projection at the wire.

I really like this bra. It feels comfy and I love the look. It’s a soft silky material. The pattern is a faux dark grey lace overlaying a medium nude colour (not actual lace). Straps are the same nude colour.

I’m not sure what to do with this bra. Do I keep it and ignore the fit issue? Keep it for period days? Sell it?
Give up on the comexim plunge style? I think if I were to seek the perfect fit with this I would need the cups reduced 2 cm. Or maybe I should just stick with the 3HC LOL.

      Pretty, and looks good overall!
But yes for me, I do need a larger size in 3HC than in plunges. So 75H might make sense?
Maybe with added projection at the wire? I've been contemplating that myself..

Reducing cup height and maybe moving the straps inwards a bit further on a 75HH could work too!

    • 1

cups reduced, straps moved in, gore reduced, too?? that's what this blogger did. Not saying that's the right choices, but maybe worth a try? https://brogwithadog.wordpress.com/2015/07/07/comexim-vivien-60hh/#more-211
How does the gore feel, or do you think it's fine?
I wonder if doing all of those alterations would alter the cup volume too much though.

    • 1

margesimpson , lol, you and I have similar "wish lists" for comexim styles, I think. I was wondering how this one looks in person, I love the back! It looks so secure with 3 x 4, sweet!

    • 1

margesimpson , yeah, maybe doing what bubblegum's suggestions make sense, too.
maybe do all of my suggestions would make you quad out of 75HH? Idk...

    • 3

bubblegum thanks! Yeah maybe the 75HH with reduced cups. Do they move in straps more then 2cm? The 75H felt too narrow for me unfortunately.

    • 2

margesimpson , yes I think to 3 cm, if IIRC from this video Erica made. https://youtu.be/METoV07IF6A

    • 2

I suppose: it's always hard to be 100% sure what gets done exactly, but I've definitely asked for straps moved in 3 cm. before!

    • 1

unless they have changed things, but you could always ask?

    • 1

BraOdyssey the gore feels good and tacks so I wouldn’t want to change it. But I’m a bit concerned that if I reduced cups it may change the gore as sherrach898 pointed out with her new altered basic plunge. I’m so confused lol
I think my roots are just too short for the plunge...but dang I really wanted it to work.

    • 2

bubblegum BraOdyssey thank you, good to know I could get straps moved in 3cm! I guess I was thinking there was a limit LOL

    • 2

BraOdyssey haha yes I really do like this colour/pattern! Funny you were eyeing this one too.
The 4x3 hooks are on most of my Comexims, I love that.

I wonder with all of the alterations if it would make it too small idk..maybe just the straps moved in and reduced cups would work and stick with 75HH...

    • 1

Maybe your next Breakout bras order you could try something like Comexim Jasmine, or Andromeda in 75H - which is different fabric from the Comexim basic plunge. Just to see if the fit is better in different fabric?

    • BraOdyssey thanks for the suggestion. I could try that. How are they with returns? I’m already returning another bra to them LOL

    • margesimpson , I had to return 3 bras to them, in a box, and it was kind of expensive. I'm not sure if we can use Paypal on their site (paypal returns) because $21 to have it tracked, but that was for 3 bras.

    • 1

that was in the beginning of my "bra odyssey" so I didn't order with paypal, because I didn't know about the paypal returns program.

Breakoutbras was super easy to deal with for returns though.

I sent my bras back (2 Comexims and the Sugar Candy bra I tried on) and it took almost a month b/c it was during Covid, and they were fine with it.

    • 1

So, you have to just pay return shipping, which is like $4 in the US, but much more in Canada, depending on how many bras you order, weight of package/size of package of course.

    • 2

BraOdyssey good to know they’re good with returns. I’m already signed up for PayPal return shipping costs :)

    • 2

I was just reading this bra blog that bubblegum posted in one of her responses and I saw this lady had her straps moved in 4 cm!! Perhaps it depends on the size though? Her bra size is 70P so considerably larger cups https://bratoday.wordpress.com/2016/05/08/comexim-the-longline/

    • 1

      4cm!!! Wow
I’m pretty sure they did move in the straps on this one as I requested, it definitely helped the fit. I should’ve asked for reduced cups though. I just wish I didn’t need multiple alterations LOL

  11. Basic Plunge Bra (170)

I'm really surprised at how well this one fits!

I've been wearing a 30G Basic Plunge from Breakout Bras and from the beginning had a lot more issues with gapping when I moved my arms than any of my other Comexim bras in the same size. I recently figured out some of my fit issues were stemming from my band size getting smaller unexpectedly and while I knew I needed a 28 band I wasn't sure if I needed a GG or an H. 28GG would be the sister size to what I was wearing but when I ordered a new 30G Gloria a few weeks ago it ... made me quad boob pretty bad and the band was loose so I had to exchange it for a 28H (and was what actually made me realize my band size had dropped.) So I just went for the H because that was the size Breakout had in all 3 of the bras I wanted and it fits! The straps don't dig into my armpits like the 30G's did initially, there's a lot less gapping when I move, and I don't feel like I have to pull my boobs out of my armpits 24/7 anymore! Band is definitely snug but still comfortable.

The gore does still sit on one of my boobs just slightly and the straps slightly dig into my armpits but it's already better than just about every other bra I've tried so I'm not concerned. When I eventually decide to order directly from Comexim with alterations I'll probably overlap the gore and maybe bring the straps in just a touch to adjust for those issues but overall I'm extremely happy with the fit!

yea! wait, did you happen to post on reddit, and I tried to give you fit advice?

    • 2

Yeah, I did! Your advice was actually super useful! I kept the post up but removed the imgur link because I got two creeps in my dms and was annoyed. Decided to just do another Breakout order because I needed new bras ASAP.

    • 2

Oh, okay. Good to know!! So glad this worked out for you. Comexims are great bras. I'm a big fan of Polish bras for my shape. I also like their creativity and wide range of styles/colours.

    • 2

Also, I wanted to add: I'm glad you figured out your best size for this particular bra b/c - gaping in the cup can sometimes be a bit counterintuitive. Sometimes people think - it's too big if there's some gaping, when it can actually be too small and going up a cup or two will help.

Plus, with Comexim, all of their letters - like J, K, sound so big...but it's just their own system, lol.

    • 2

When I post fit pics on Reddit I put my measurements or a stock photo as the first pic of the Imgur album, so the thumbnail wouldn’t be boobs. I also only put the link at the bottom and mention in the middle of the bra science paragraph that fit pics are in the link, as I assumed crepes wouldn’t be interested in that discussion.

    • 2

Looks good, glad it works for you! Now you can order with comexim directly and ask for alterations. Straps moved in are awesome in my experience :)

Along with the solid royal blue top, I picked this color block bikini up, also on sale for a steal! $18 for the top and $8 for the bottoms. This color block is vivid and bright. The inside of the cup is a white three piece cup with a split layer of bathing suit fabric over top. The top portion is teal/aqua and the lower part is royal blue. There is some ruching along the inner cup near the center gore on the royal blue fabric. The gore slightly floats away from my body, but this doesn’t bother me. The back band fits much better on this one ... compared to the royal blue color top of the same size. The straps are stretchy but provide comfortable support. The straps on this color way are ever so slightly wider than the royal blue color way. The hardware is black, with the back clasp being silver.
Overall I’m very please with this purchase and can’t wait to wear my new bikinis for summer.

I purchased both pairs or bottoms in a size Large. Both pairs fit great.

    Bikini:
There is a cute color block effect with ruching at the hips with the teal colored fabric. The inside is lined with a white lining. The elastic has even tension and doesn’t dig in or cause double-butt buns.

    High waisted briefs:
This pair also has the color block effect, with the center panel having the rushing on the fabric. The inside is also lined with white fabric as well as having evenly tensioned elastic providing a smooth fit along my hiney.

    75HH

    Fits

I have the 70L - Comexim » Onyks Non-padded Half Cup Underwire Bra (CMONYK from Breakout Bras in 32HH (BoB’s sizing) because the band runs stretchy. I noticed that around my period, the cup on that one is just a tiiiiiiiiny bit small on my larger side. So when I ordered this padded Comexim Elise 3HC from Breakout Bras, I decided to bump it up one cup but in my normal band size, so I got a 34HH. (Note that this is NOT a 34HH if ordering directly from Comexim; it is BoB’s sizing.) The band is true to size on this one, decently stretchy but ... not so stretchy that you’d want to size up.

The Onyks is a little more forgiving of shape differences and changes than this Elise, since the Elise is padded. The Elise does fit my larger side decently when my breasts are larger around my period. On the smaller breast, or for both when my breasts are smaller, the bra is a little gappy at the top. It’s not really noticeable under a shirt and can be smoothed out with a thin tank top so while it isn’t perfect, this bra is still a good one to have in my collection.

If you don’t have much top fullness, then I would advise going up 2 sizes for your Comexim size in this one and not 3 like I did. (I have some fullness on top when supported.) The straps are pretty wide set, as Comexim straps tend to be. If ordering this one directly from Comexim, I think I’d order the same size but request to have the straps moved in 2 cm and possibly have the gore shortened, or maybe just have them overlap the wires? There is room for the gore to tack if I push it with my finger, but I think it floats just a little because Comexim doesn’t use super firm wires. The cups have plenty of room and good room for projection at the wire so it isn’t breast tissue pushing the gore forward. Overall, the bra is comfortable and flatters my breast, despite the few fit issues. It’s padded but not molded or stiff.

The color is very pretty in person. If you’re fair-skinned with pinkish undertones, it will work as a neutral. If you are darker, then it’s just a nice, soft pink and tan. The seams may be visible if you’re wearing a thin or very fitted top. The seams are less obvious if I’m wearing a looser or patterned top. (The same is generally true of the gapping I have at the top of the bra.) I haven’t had this bra very long so I think the seams may be less noticeable after a few more wears and washes, too.

I’d say if you generally like Comexim 3HC bras, this runs very similarly to their other 3HCs so you should be fine if ordering your usual Comexim size (and usual Comexim alterations, if you typically ask for changes to the straps or gore).

Looks great! I never have figured out my Comexim sizing, and I feel like BoB led me astray with their suggestion for sizing up because of how big the bee 3HC fit me. (Probably also a shape issue, but I digress...)

    • 2

Unfortunately, Comexim sizing is somewhat inconsistent, pretty_promise. You can have a look at the bras I’ve measured and see that I’ve tried multiple Comexim sizes. I think after much trial and error, I think my best fit is going to be 3HC ordered directly from Comexim in 75K with the straps moved in 2 cm and the gore height specified at about 7.5 cm. I’ve tried 5 different bras to figure that out (thanks to sales and reselling the one that really didn’t work). I wish they had firmer wires like Ewa Michalak, but they’re cute and affordable and customizable so that’s the trade-off, I guess!

Oh Comexim, why do you hate me? As usual, I really wanted this bra to fit. The lace is soft (too soft to be supportive?), the look is lovely, etc. The cups are just so open at the top as I have experienced in other Comexim styles. I used to love long line bras back when my belly was smaller/didn’t sit so high. This one fit fine around my belly, though. Perhaps because it is more like a 38 band than a 36.

I am actually kind of glad the band is so large. I would be tempted to keep this bra and see if I could alter it to make it fit properly, but the band being already on the tightest hooks for the bottom tells me that’s a bad plan.

So sad for you it doesn't work, because conceptually this is a beautiful bra!

There's definitely some scaling issue going wrong here, similar to (but worse than, I think?) your Miss Bee-have.

Seems like Comexim's 'standard production' for larger sizes suffers with comparable issues to many larger-cup bra manufacturers (straps too wide set, wider wires, excess fabric near the tail of spence etc.).

Wondering how much custom alterations would help you out here!

    • 1

Erica from A Sophisticated Pair did a YouTube on custom Comexim alterations, thought it was interesting. If you are interested...although I've never done custom alterations w them, so I'm not one to give advice.
      Here is the video https://youtu.be/METoV07IF6A

too bad about this bra : (, it looks great on your skin tone!

    • 2

bubblegum I agree... it just seems like something broke down on how they made the size. I am admittedly not that full on top, but I have never had bras shaped so comically. It’s so funny because holding it as if the strap were one inch over is a world of difference.

And thank you BraOdyssey for sharing that YouTube link! I have been worried about trying to order it customized without first experimenting myself so I can see how much things need to be moved. I just watched it and I feel so much more informed about what it would actually look like. (I literally never would have gone looking for this because I am not a video person.)

    Hasn't set fit

Such a lovely marble-space print! I really like Andromeda. It was my first (and up until now, only - trying to maintain some self-discipline (; ) BreakOutBras order, in April last year.

    *Fit:
Apparently Andromeda's band is said to run tight, but I personally haven't noticed, maybe the 4x3 hooks help? My standard 70 Comexim band feels fine (for a ribcage measuring 74-78-85 cm.).
This 70K (sold by BoB as UK 32H - I'm just now thinking I may need to change how I entered this bra?) fits me well. Some minor cutting in / bulge on my larger breast - I suppose a 70L may have fit as well. ... For reference my breast perimeter is 30+-ish cm / 12 inches and because I don't mind some compression I tend to do well in bras with a depth around 28+cm./11 inch.

The wires are nice and narrow, the wings are low enough not to bother me, and even without alterations this bra works for me.

    *Materials:
Deserve their own paragraph, as the materials on this are my absolute favorite that Comexim uses! Wish they would come out with more bras in this type fabric!
It's a smooth, sturdy, satiny overlay with a cotton lining throughout the cups.

    >>Only downside of this fabric is that for the briefs, in summer this material can be kind of crotch-sweat inducing, if you know what I mean.

    *Look:
Visually, this bra is stunning. The swirly marble-like veins in the fabric, the galaxy vibes without being in-your-face galaxy.. Beautiful.
Don't get me wrong I would also purchase a purple-blue-sparkle full-on galaxy bra in a heartbeat, but this is pretty functional and understated, while still being an original non-overly-girly design. For me, the grey can also conveniently function as a 'neutral'/almost nude under clothes, which is great as I don't like beige bras.

    *Comfort:
I've come to the conclusion that I'm pretty projected and I may need added projection as an alteration in Comexim plunges. There's usually a crease going on in the bottom cup and Andromeda definitely slides down a bit throughout a day of wear, which can kind of hurt my ribcage after a while. Still, it's very wearable and pretty comfortable regardless, in part due to the cotton lining I suspect. The straps are a little too far apart for me (normally I have them moved in 2-3 cm./about an inch) but not so much that it hurts me.

So, all in all I'm super happy with this pretty grey bra - it's been holding up great over the past year (still almost feels like new) and it gets a lot of wear!

It’s probably creasing because it is too small and/or perhaps the band is a little bit too tight even with the extra hooks even if it’s ok for you.

    • 1

But it’s a super lovely bra!

    • 1

Calluna Yeah that's what I was thinking! Band doesn't feel too tight at all though, and I don't tolerate overly tight bands well, so guess I would notice if it was straining.

Luckily it's still wearable (: but yes 'technically' I may need a 70L or (when ordered directly) extra depth!

    • You should maybe try Comexim's deeper padded plunge, it's like this one, Topaz, from Breakout Bras.
I think the fit is slightly better on me 32H UK with the deeper padded plunge; it also makes the straps slightly more narrow, imo. https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dnpi3/

I’ve been wanting to try this bra and finally went for it but ordered the wrong cup size. I absolutely love this bra. It’s very comfortable and light. I like the shape it gives and I just love how it feels. I ordered a 28H (60K) from breakout bras and I’m not sure why I didn’t order 28HH (60L). I am not sure if I should order one cup size larger or two? 🤔

according to this review https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dnfzu/, LadyNoName says to size down in the band, and up 3 cups.

I wasn't able to find the best size for myself in the Onyks; fyi, I sized down 1 in the band and only up 2 cups sizes - I still needed to go up one cup size.

Hope that helps! But I didn't really find my correct size in the Onyks, so I'm not entirely sure I know what I'm talking about, lol. But I think I would've needed to go down 1 band, up 3 cups, from my normal UK bra size. Again, I only went up 2 cups, and I felt like I needed to go up one more.

Do you know: what is your size in their padded plunge?

    • 2

BraOdyssey Yes, I do remember her review and saying that! My best fit has been in a 60L. So I’m not exactly sure why I ordered a 60K lol. Maybe I should order a 60M then. I am afraid it will be too big 😕

    • 2

damaries , I know...it's a tough call. There's one 60M Onkys in bratabase, but she didn't add the measurements (only pics), so there's nothing to compare to! : (

    • 2

BraOdyssey I saw that 😞 I think I’m leaning towards going with the 60L and if it’s too small then I’ll exchange again for the 60M. Breakout bras probably hate me 😂🙈
I do so much exchanging lol

    • 2

damaries, hey, they offer free shipping/returns, so I would take it! Even my friend who works for amazon said, "Don't feel bad about buying and returning from amazon if it doesn't fit." He knows how many $billions$ they make, lol.

seriously though, they offer it as a service, and I wouldn't have brought my bras through BoB if they didn't have the easy exchanges.

    Full Disclosure:
This is the first time I ordered from Comexim directly. From their website photos, the Karina looks like a padded plunge bra. For my order I asked for some modifications (i.e. size 55K, 3HC, overlapped gore, straps moved in 1cm, 3 x 4 hook and eye, and cotton cookie pockets) - all done apart from the hook and eye which is a 3 x 3 closure. What surprised me was that instead of a 3HC padded half cup, my Karina came as a 3HC unpadded half cup. This ... may have been a translation error in my modifications request (I put English and Polish), although google translate seemed to think everything was ok. If anyone would be willing to help lookover this with me I would be most grateful so I can be clear what I am requesting next time https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

    Look:
I was struggling between choosing the Comexim Chiara 3hc and Comexim Princess Plunge Bra (547) when Comexim released the Karina during their 2021 Valentine's sale then I knew it was the one <3 It is bold red on the inside with delicate black overlay on the outside, giving a mysteriously seductive deep red tone when looking at the bra. The lace is intricately detailed with circular floral patterns that look like a group of oriental lanterns. Across the top of the cups are pretty petal-like lace trimmings. There are 3 main layers to this unpadded bra: top black lace mesh, middle red mesh and red cotton cookie pockets over the cups - the band is black mesh with red trimmings. It is relatively smooth under clothes so super versatile and offers the same coverage as my 3HC padded Comexim Beauty.

    Fit:
This bra fits the same as my 60K - Comexim » Beauty Half Cup (since 2015 Version) (355) ; gives me amazing 'cakes-on-a-plate' with buttcrack cleavage high on my chest and a nice round side profile. The band is perfect at 55 on the outermost hook without an extender. The cups on the Karina is ever so slightly deeper than my Beauty which is perfect (i.e. no quadding) and I can wear this without or with cookies (e.g. to correct for asymmetry or to avoid cold weather incidents showing through).

    Overall:
Although I was expecting a padded 3HC Karina, this unpadded 3HC Karina may actually end up getting more wear than if it was the former. I predominately wear unlined bras as they take up less storage space and are quicker to handwash/ dry. My best unlined bras are currently the Cleo Melissa and (many colours of) Marcie so I'm excited to add Karina to the mix! This order has also got me thinking... perhaps unpadded Comexims with cookie pockets are better than unlined and padded bras for me as they offer greater flexibility?

This bra is STUNNING! I'm so glad it fits you! How much stiffer are the cups with cookie pockets added? Thanks for such a marvelously detailed review!

    • 2

It's a really beautiful bra. I once ordered a bra from Comexim thinking it was a padded 3HC too (the 60J - Comexim » Belle De Nuit Soft (585) ). Glad this one will work for you!

    • 2

marilynne Thank you :) The cookie pockets are super soft and mould perfectly against the mesh layer upon wearing. I'd say they help the cups maintain their intended shape without the need of padding or thicker infrastructure (i.e. stiffness is inbetween unlined and padded). Comparing the look of the Beauty vs Karina on, I honestly can't tell that one is padded and the other isn't!

Also, I should mention that Comexim doesn't provide any cookies but I happen to have some spare (from old sports bras) that fit quite well :)

sincerity Thank you! I always prefer the dhape of padded bras under shirts, but love the feel of unlined bras, so I think I'll be copying this bra for my next comexim order. I can't get over how absolutely breathtaking it is! Did you order the matching briefs as well?

    • 1

Interesting that it was unexpectedly unpadded. I guess there’s no way to know for sure but glad it ended up working for you!

    • 8

If you go on the Polish version of Comexim’s website, the bras usually have longer descriptions than on the English version, so I just set it to Polish and let Chrome run Google Translate English. When I do that on the Karina page, it describes it as a ‘soft plunge bra’ and I believe ‘soft’ is the translated version of their word for ‘unlined.’ The padded ones usually just say ‘padded’ in the description. So, that’s how I tell the difference.

    • 1

bridget_megan thanks for that, good to know. I’ll try that the next time I order for sure

    • 1

Wilderness1 I'm sorry the Belle De Nuit didn't work out for you! I reckon if it wasn't for the cotton cookies this Karina may not have worked well for me. I wish there was a filter for soft cup/ padded bras on their website, I'm going to email Joanna :)

marilynne Yay! Happy that my review is useful :) I did indeed, I got the size M Adore style briefs made using Karina material (highwaisted briefs are more flattering on me, though Adore is more midwaisted). Updated my photo settings so the full set should be visible now. They fit great, thanks for helping me narrow down brief sizes!

margesimpson bridget_megan OMG that is an amazing tip! I'm definitely doing that next time. I've also noticed that 'Related Products' on Karina's page are all unlined bras whereas padded bras have none or maybe only 1 unlined bra. Lol I should have been more attentive!

    • 1

sincerity High waisted styles are more flattering on me as well, but comexim seems to think that your waist is at your high hip, which is a veey unflattering line for most of us :(. I just stick with their low rise thongs since it's more flattering than their "high-rise" style. And you're welcome!

    • 1

sincerity I just got my Karina today too, and I was also surprised it was unlined! I kept mine as the Plunge but with my normal modifications (shortened cups and moved in straps) and it fit me almost the same as the padded plunge, so I was surprised at how well this turned out. It is just fine fully unlined, but I'll have to consider adding cookie pockets. Could you post a picture of your cookie pockets on an unlined bra? I'm curious to see where they are placed. Mine is just an inner layer of red mesh and the outer layer of embroidered black mesh. I am going to ask Joanna if it is possible to order a normal padded bra as unlined. I have done the reverse before, ordering an unlined (Mystic) as a normal padded plunge, and that was successful.

Regarding the panties, I actually asked Joanna to custom make one for me because I prefer thong styles and also don't like high waisted on my short torso. I gave her the measurements of a normal thong and asked her to lower the waistband by 3 cm for future orders, which she agreed to via email before I placed the order. So, she ended up sending me a very cute cheeky with this order with a lowered waist, and it turned out quite nice. You can always request a different panty style if you don't like the one that is available, I would just email first to make sure your request is clear.

    • belleandblues Yay, I'm glad it worked out for you too :) I'm tempted to ask for one of the nude bras to be made unlined with cookie pockets - if the plunge fits similarly to the padded plunge then I might go for that!

Absolutely!! Took some extra photos with the cookie pockets open on one side for comparison. Essentially, I also have the outer layer of embroidered mesh, then the inner layer of red mesh and then red cookie pockets over the whole cup. It's very well done as the opening for the cookie pocket is actually disguised as one of the vertical seams. I also prefer these 'full' cookie pockets to EM's as my 60FF - Ewa Michalak » Chp Marcepanowa Magnolia (694) left slightly unsightly 'imprints' on the outside of the cups which could potentially show under a tight top.

    • 1

sincerity Thank you! You are so awesome for doing that. I agree that the cookie pockets look great, and I was confused at first why they didn’t seem visible from your photo from the front because I was expecting partial pockets like the Ewa ones and thought they would be visible from the front due to the sheerness. I am definitely going to give this a try because I also like the additional structure and modesty adding the pockets does. Will let you know what Joanna says about ordering normal padded styles as unlined to see if it is possible!

Btw I have tried one other unlined bra before, the Whimsy Unlined, but I think that one was a different cut because it didn’t fit me at all and the cups were huge even though I sized down. But based on the photos of this one it does look like it’s the same cut as the normal padded plunge? When I ordered it, I just told her to “keep as plunge but with the modifications from my previous order.” It’s possible that some of the other unlined styles fit differently, so if you want it to fit as a normal plunge you may have to tell her that you want an unlined version of the normal plunge.

    • belleandblues No problem, you're welcome! And thanks for the heads up with ordering an unlined plunge, I'm super excited about this since my unlined bras essentially consist of different coloured Marcies :)

I'm also tempted to see if they can make the Anabella high waist brief or Livia thong for a different print... maybe Rosettes - oooh much saving up to do!

    Hasn't set fit

So, I finally got around to writing a (needlessly lengthy) review for my '2nd generation' Comexim Yoko, plunge style.

TL;DR: this Yoko Plunge is super nice, excellent quality, comfortable, true to size. The design remains timeless, gorgeous, unique and I love it. Some of my alteration requests were not honored / executed like I intended them though, luckily without causing major issues. Would like to try extra wire projection, if I were to buy this bra again.

General tip for buying Comexim: don't over-ask in the alteration department!

LOVE the brief in Princess/tanga style (as their szorty hurts my hip crease).
Hoping to happily wear this for the next 4+ ... years like I did with my 1st gen. Yoko!

    _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

    The long version:

I refuse to call this bra by it's given name (Yoko 1) as this clearly should have been called 'Yoko 2' (or Yoko plunge or whatever, but NOT 'Yoko 1' as this is not the first incarnation of Yoko!) - call me silly, haha.

Anyhow, I previously reviewed my 4+ year old well-worn favorite bra; Yoko in 3HC (two seamed half cup) style: http://bra.pe/X3tG/
I had been thinking how to make that bra last, or if I should order a replacement. Wasn't sure whether to go for the trusty 3HC (without lowered cups this time) or to ask if they would do a special order request for a plunge, because the Andromeda I purchased last summer actually worked out pretty well and I reached for it often.

Lo and behold, such coincidence: exactly around the time of my contemplations they spontaneously came out with a Yoko Plunge!
Meant to be, serendipity, bra fate - so during the Black Friday sale I jumped on board and ordered the Yoko Plunge, Red Panter (http://bra.pe/X3tB/) and Wildcat (http://bra.pe/X3tC/). They arrived somewhere in January and both this Yoko & Red Panter are definitely a win.

    Alterations I asked for:
    - straps moved in 2-3 cm,
    - 3 hooks, 4 rows in the band
    - band made in opaque / non-mesh material, if possible
    - lowered and narrowed gore
    - briefs in 'Princess' style (so more of a tanga brief)

Sooo this was actually a longer list of alterations than I had planned for; my bad, and no - it did not end perfectly.

With my first Comexim order in 2016, I suffered from 'over-altering' (like asking for lowered cups that turned out super duper low, and cookie pockets that I didn't need / never used). For this order I tried to avoid too many alteration requests, because:
    a) it can make bras too small / the fit be 'off'
    b) over-asking can cause random requests to get lost in translation
    c) it seems unfair to ask for so much additional work from their sewing staff, especially at sale prices.

I did deliberately ask for the band not being mesh; because Yoko 3HC's band stretched out majorly (and quickly), and was less comfortable / supportive to me compared to firmer material double layer Comexim bands, like Talisman or Andromeda. This is not a standard alteration and they did email me to ask what I meant, and after some explanation they promised to make the band 'like the Black Basic Bra'. As I'd heard the Basic's band being described as firm, I agreed and thanked them.

The briefs style request was because I already owned the standard szorty that matches Yoko, and found them to uncomfortably dig into my hip crease.
So I hardly ever wore those, which is a shame when splurging on a matching set! Having wide-ish hips and a large-ish butt (measuring ~43" around) plus chunky thighs; boyshorts in general just don't work for me, while tanga briefs tend to fit way better, perhaps due to the more generous / open leg hole?

    Alterations I got:
    - straps are moved in, not sure by how much, but it works
    - band only has 3 hooks, 3 rows ?!
    - band material -sadly- seems very similar to my previous Yoko (but don't own a Basic to compare it to).
    - gore seems lowered, as it measures 6 cm, compared yo my unaltered Andromeda's 7 cm.
    - briefs in Princess style are perfect <3

What really did surprise me was the band closure not being 4x3 like I asked, but 3x3 instead ?
Because even my unaltered Andromeda has the 4x3 hooks, so I considered this almost standard for Comexim - and mostly asked for it to make sure / as a safety check. Luckily it's still wearable with one less row of hooks to start from, firm but not too tight, so I don't really mind.

Then with the band material, I was somewhat disappointed - as this was my most 'out of the box' alteration, but also the one I was most hoping to be done right. I wanted a firm, non-see through band, like swimsuit material instead of mesh. As they had asked for clarification; I figured that we ended up on the same page - but in hindsight I'm not sure. Perhaps this actually IS the same band as the Black Basic bra, and I just agreed to the wrong thing?

As I am happy with the bra overall I haven't contacted them yet (to ask about the band material and 3x3 hooks), but it might still be good to do so, not necessarily to complain but mostly for feedback purposes.

    Fit: ****
For reference my breasts are set at medium height; quite close together, projected, tall-ish roots and generally FOT (when supported). Common sizes I wear are 70GG in Ewa Michalak, 70K in Comexim (borderline 70L, depending on alterations), mostly 32G-ish in UK brands, and 32I-ish in the US. I like my bands firm but not super tight, my cups 'compressed' rather than roomy.

All in all this bra fits me well. Yoko Plunge is true to size, has reasonable projection and depth, and does allow for some upper fullness. IRL there's almost some quad going on, but that may just be minor weight fluctuation. For me personally, a little more projection at the wire would be great, because it does slide down a bit during the day.

    Comfort: ****
In general I'd consider this a comfy bra, apart from it sliding down now and then.
I'd have preferred a different/softer band material for this purpose as well.. Meshy bands tend to dig in a little more than swimsuit-material/opaque/double-layer bands? This is not (yet) a bra that you "hardly notice you're wearing at all" like my previous Yoko, but perhaps with getting it broken in a little more, that may change!

    Appearance: *****
What can I say, I just L.O.V.E. this bra's design / appearance. Gold star! Ultimate Grand Supreme!
I do, however, have to admit that the fan-design on the cups is ever so slightly better done in the halfcup version. In my 3HC the pretty blue fans are spread out over the cups very elegantly and organically, where in the plunge there's some cut-offs happening, especially at the center seam. Had already noticed this in the product pictures so I did know what to expect.

    Quality: *****
As my previous Yoko was worn super frequently for 4+ years before being retired, I have high hopes for this 2nd incarnation and the many adventures we will have!

    The verdict:
Comexim makes pretty amazing bras overall - I still can't understand how they don't charge extra for what is essentially almost 'made to measure' service. (I might actually prefer if they did charge for alterations, 'cause then if something doesn't get done (right) there'd be more accountability / cause for complaint).

Mind that you can never be 100% sure with their alterations, don't ask for too many - and be super clear in what you agree on.

Regardless of accuracy in alterations I'm extremely happy with this bra, the size & shape work well for me (if not 100% perfect, it mostly fits as a bra should).
For a future direct order (I don't currently need new bras at all, but who knows.. a back-up Yoko, in case it ever gets discontinued O: ) I'd be curious to try and ask for 1-2 cm. extra projection at the wire.

Interesting to know about the fan placement for the plunge vs half cup. I’m thinking about this one.

    • 2

Seconding what Calluna said. The fans are such a selling point, I am glad you pointed out the difference.

It looks like a good fit, even if the alterations were not quite what you hoped. :)

    Didn't fit

I ordered this bra from Breakout Bras shortly after receiving the 32K - Full Embrace » The Essential Balconette Bra and finding that it didn't fit me at all. I had also previously tried the 70N - Comexim » Magic Plunge Bra (455) , which was way too small, and the 70O - Comexim » Miss Bee-have Half Cup 3hc , which was wearable, but not a perfect fit. I literally took the tags off of the Full Embrace balconette, since I thought it would take a week or so to get to me and I needed something to wear ... ASAP, then got an email indicating that my Breakout Bras order had shipped and would arrive by Saturday. It actually arrived today (Thursday). Whoops. Anyway, the Piume Blu isn't a perfect fit on me after all. The cups gape a bit, especially on my smaller side, and the gore doesn't quite tack. I'm going to hang onto it since it's wearable, the colorway is very pretty, and I'm pretty desperate for a padded bra as this cold snap is showing no signs of abating. I suspect finding a padded bra that fits me perfectly without alterations just isn't going to happen. Le sigh.
Edit: remeasured bra 02/12/21 using my knee to hold the bra in place.

I’m no expert, but It looks like a pretty good fit to me, If it’s comfortable enough for you?

    • 3

Thanks a lot for reviewing this, I've been curious to see Piume Blu irl - and it is a lovely designed bra indeed!

I'm surprised though that the cup depth on yours is 30.5cm./~12 inch? Seems less than I would expect for a 70O (that's BreakOutBras' 32K/US32O, right?)

'Cause I was low-key considering the 32HH/32L/70L (they don't have a 70K in stock and my current Comexim 70K's seem small-ish anyway) but I would need 29-ish cm cup depth - as that is 3 sizes smaller, I wonder how their scaling goes..?

    • 4

bubblegum: It is a Breakout Bra 32K--bratabase auto-converted 32K to 70O. I remeasured the bra this afternoon using my knee, and I was off by an inch on the width and the depth. I used my knee this time around instead of holding the bra by hand, but it was still tricky to measure. I guess I need a bigger knee, LOL.
@margesimpson: It looks alright in the photos, but there's gapping at the strap, and the gore isn't tacking. The bra is reasonably comfortable, so I'm keeping it, but I'm not likely to buy more Comexims.

    Fits

My shape: round to teardrop, asymmetrical, even top/bottom fullness, outer full, close set when supported, downward pointing nipples, slightly east/west,

This is the first of four Comexim bras that I've tried that actually comes close to fitting, and that I like enough to keep! I wasn't sure about it at first, but after wearing it for most of the day today, it's surprisingly comfortable, and I like the shape under a t-shirt. It gives me some lift, a round shape, and a bit of cleavage. but it's less in-your-face than an EM CHP. The materials are surprisingly nice for a comparatively lower price. It's just a simple ... nude 3-part halfcup, really, but it has cute bows at the gore and bottom of the straps and shiny edging at the top of the cups that I really like. The cup material feels like spacer foam. The seams on the inside of the cup are fairly pronounced, but I can't feel them when wearing it. The band is solid mesh and pretty stretchy.

I exchanged the 32F - Comexim » Basic Half Cup for this size after finding both the cup and band too small in that one. The fit isn't technically perfect - I get what I'd guess you'd call a "soft tack" with the gore (bottom tacks, top does not), the band could be a smidge tighter, and there's a bit of gaping on my smaller side - but I'm thinking this is the best fit I'm going to get from Comexim, after also trying the 75E - Comexim » Basic Plunge Bra (170) and not really liking it. Despite the minor fit issues, it's cute and comfortable enough that I cut the tags off.

Ok, now after seeing this size on you, I'd have to say that it does look better than the smaller size. Glad you found something you like and that fits you well.

    • 3

So happy for you that this is comfortable - and definitely looks like a much better fit!

If you ever do end up placing a direct order; I think a 3HC with straps moved in and mayyybe cups lowered 1cm would be just perfect on you!!

    • 1

bubblegum Thank you! I did end up ordering a modified 3HC - we'll see how it goes! :-)

    • I think she definitely needs her straps moved in, and I'm wondering if that could be a game changer, lol.
