This bra is for sure too big for me.
I have now tried every size other than the one I likely need in this cut or sister cut (28DD, 28E & 28FF). I love the darker colorways and really think this fabric is cute! Should have gone with my gut and strayed from this size, but I couldn't help it!
Anyone with a 28F in this or a sister cut care to trade?!

I just really like the way this bra feels upon trying. It's comfortable, the band is really snug but not too tight. I can almost forget that I am wearing a bra!

I think it's an almost perfect fit except for the fact that the cup widths are a tiny bit wide for me. Other than that, the bra gives overall good structure and support to my boobs, and I like its pretty colour and design. The light padding also helps to give boobs an overall natural rounded look which I like very much.

There's just a little something I noticed about the 'shape' at the top of the ... cups. While the cups are really smooth and nicely round, but because it is lined at the top with lace, the connection between the cup and the lace creates this slight indent (this was the only word I could think of lol). Thus, it causes a slight quad boob effect but not because the cups cut into breast tissue. Rather, I think it's the way the lace and the padded cups connect. It seems like this indent may not be so apparent under tees and tanks as compared to just examining the bra on its own, so perhaps it won't be an issue? Will continue wearing the bra and see how that goes. Right now I am more preoccupied with being all excited about finding a bra that fits this well. Lol.

    • Ha! I'm not impressed by the design of Marcie either. It's obviously well constructed - I could tell even though it didn't fit me - but that's all. Oh well!

    • I think it looks better in the other colour though, like it's quite nice in red or black, but the pink and yellow - urk!

This bra does not fit me. As my breasts are full-on-bottom/even and projected, this bra causes a large quad-boob effect as the cups are not deep enough for me. It would be better for someone who is more full-on-top, with less projection. The band is far too tight. As I measure at 29 inches for my ribcage, I am right between sizes, but in this bra I would definitely need to size up to a 30. I had to buy an extender just to make the band comfortable.

This was my first foray into online bra shopping with my size and shape from /r/abrathatfits, and I did not do enough homework! The bra is way too small.

Otherwise, the bra has great shape and sturdy build. The band holds its position and the material is comfortable. If you are confident in your shape and size as a shallow/FoT 28FF, this bra will likely work very well for you.

I'm full [ a lot of fullness in the center], projected, close set, pendulous. This bra is a shape mismatch for me.

The bra cuts into my breasts at the top, bottom and the sides of the cup. Even though wires are actually wide for me, the fabric there doesn't allow for my projection. I get weird creasing at the sides, bottom and center of the cup because of it squishing me.

The straps should be a lot wider, it'd make them more comfortable.

Band is firm. I hate polkadots but I thought this would be similar to the Marcie but it's not.

I love this bra, Marcie is my best fitting bra. I feel the yellow may be a little less stretchy than the purple but for me it's comfortable it doesn't dig in.

It's a personal problem of mine but I wish I could find bras almost exactly the same as the Marcie [unlined and lined] but with a little bit of a higher gore [i have quite a bit of center fullness, the straps slightly closer [I'm petite with broad shoulders] and I wish the wires went a little higher under my arms.

Also the colour is amazingly vibrant.

I absolutely love the pattern of this bra; it's so fun and youthful. The fit was fantastic with a nice lifted, rounded shape. I had a little wrinkling in the lace part on my smaller boob, but not enough to be an issue. It fits very similarly to the Cleo Marcie. In fact, I laid this 28FF bra against my 30F marcie and the cup wires and gore were identical. Of course, the band was longer at the hooks on the 30 marcie. This bra's band was nice and tight and secure and comfortable. I had no poking or discomfort with any of the wires or straps. So glad I got it for such a good price from another bratabase user.

This is for the RED marcie.

Writing this to tie the measurements in the table to the color here. Finally tracked down a red Marcie from a boutique in Ottawa. The band feels a little stretchier than the purple or pink. I still prefer to wear an extender with the purple and pink Marcies, but can comfortably close the red on the loosest/first hooks. Otherwise, no noticeable fit differences.

This is for the turquoise model of the Marcie.

This is easily the best fitting unpadded bra I've owned. I love it. The band runs very small - I would call it a 26 rather than a 28, but that's great news for me. If you're a true 28 though you might seriously consider sizing up or picking up an extender. The lace at the top of the cups is very forgiving of asymmetries. My right side is slightly smaller, but the top doesn't gape at all. I do get a tiny wrinkle in the middle of the cup where the lace meets the mesh on my small side, ... but nothing noticeable under clothing. I'm fairly high set as well, and find that I do not have problems with this bra cutting in under the arms at the straps, as so many bras do. The gore is a little bit high so, being close set, the wires don't sit completely flat at the top. There is some extra space in the channels though, so it's easy to push the wires down in the middle to fix that.

Overall, this bra is a great fit, and plan on picking this up in red soon.

This is a VERY lovely bra, and one of the first in my new size that I think really feels good! I've written a full review over at my blog https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I must say the bra looks gorgeous on you :) I am absolutely in love with the print and the oh-so-bright blue! I think I will give it a go :) You say you're bottom heavy but I think it will work on top heavy boobs too :) (I have top heavy boobs)

    • Thanks so much! I am totally in love with the print too. I agree that this could work for top heavy boobs too, but I would be really interested to see a review from someone who is top heavy wearing it!

  12. Darcy Padded Balconette (6821)

When I first saw this bra, I fell in love with it. I read one good review about it and went ahead and ordered it in what I think my normal size might be 28FF, but I'm really not sure on that.

The pattern is gorgeous, with the white, red, and navy blue combination is adorable in my opinion. The straps are fairly thin, which I'm a huuge fan of but I know many people would prefer the thicker straps. I also like the thinner, 2 hook clasp but I know many people aren't a fan of that as well.

I would not go as far to say ... that this is "Padded" as the name suggests. I'd call it "lightly lined"or something of that sort. The "padding" that this bra has is not going to really add anything to the size of your boobs or enhance your cleavage, but I am not a big fan of unlined bras so I really liked this aspect.

The only thing I'm having trouble with is completely hiding this bra under clothes. Being from the land of seamless moulded t-shirt bras, The seam down the center of this bra is giving me a bit of difficulty. So far the only way I've completely hidden it is under 3 cami shirts, which is a bit crazy. Of course, this is not a t-shirt bra so I should've been expecting that.

Overall, I'm a big fan of this bra because it's absolutely adorable, and fits me well!

Edit: I seem to have grown a bit and the bra now causes some quad-boob. The lace along the edges makes it so that it's not as noticeable, but at this point theres enough extra boob that I can't really wear the bra. I'm in love with the design though, so I think I may try to buy this in a 28G.

This bra is very good for those with a smaller 28 back, otherwise I would suggest going up a back size as it is fairly snug. It's the only bra I own that I can wear on the loosest or middle hook. But it's completely the wrong shape for my breasts and far too small now. I wouldn't buy a 28G however as the plunge on this one shape is wrong for me. I have major quad-boob as it squishes the bottom of my breasts into a very odd shape. The wires also sit too low and dig into my ribs - as I don't have much meat on my ribs it is very uncomfortably to wear it for any period of time. For those with bottom-heavy breasts or a larger size, I wouldn't recommend this bra. But I think for those with top-heavy or middle-heavy breasts, especially smaller sizes, it would be a great bra.

It's super pretty, and certainly not the worst fitting bra I own, but the straps are set a little too wide for my shoulders. With a little bit of work, I can get the cups to lie just right, but ultimately, they're a little bit wide, but not quite deep enough, and my boobs are too firm to allow themselves to be shaped by the bra.

When I first got it, I could barely do the band up, and had to wear it with an extender, but after only a few wearings it had relaxed just enough to be comfortable but still supportive, and doesn't seem to be continuing to stretch.

Overall, I like, but don't love this bra. I wouldn't go out of my way looking for it, but if I happen upon one in maybe a 28G, I'd definitely give it a shot.

Also, it's not really relevant to the fit, but every now and then the underwires make an odd creaking noise.

The technical brand name for this is Cleo By Panache, whatever that means. Did Panache buy out Cleo? Did Cleo subcontract from Panache?

Either way, I got this bra on a grab bag sale and while I was surprised that a Panache bra fit, I wouldn't have bought it full price. The band is stretchy: it fits tightly for now, but I can't help but feel that it would wear out quickly. The plunge wires are very low, to the point that they dug into the flesh just under my sternum. I didn't wear the bra for weeks because of this, but I just wore it all day today and it was fine. It's ok unless the bra shifts, allowing the wires to dig. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to prevent this.

Support-wise, it's fine. The polkadots are great. And it cost $12.50, that's a plus too.

    • Actually Panache is the company which makes 4 brands:
      * Panache Superbra (which are regular Panache bras we know)
      * Cleo
      * Harlequin (which is also Masquerade in europe)
      * Atlantis

    • Thank you Jj. It's nice to have that info.

I received this bralette as part of a Grab bag special from Breakout Bras. I *never* would have considered this option of my choosing, as the wired Alexis didn't work for me. To be fair, I never tried the underwire Alexis in my correct size.

This bra is comfortable and supportive, especially with the J-hook clasped. Cup separation is adequate for a non-wired bra. This is going to work for wearing around the house and running errands.

Edit: After wearing this bralette running errands and doing light housework (approximately 4 hours), I noted significant center spillage in both cups. I attached the J-hook & continued light housework/meal prep for ... another several hours. I had minimal spillage on my larger side, but it was less comfortable (I didn't take the time to extend the length of the straps). Ultimately, I changed into another bra for the remainder of the day/night.

I allowed a day of rest and re-tried it using the J-hook with the straps fully extended. I tried to mimic similar activities as on test day 1. Unfortunately, it's not as comfortable as I initially thought. I'm still having center spillage & quad-boob on my larger side.

It's very pretty & I love the color. I'm not sure if I'll keep this or gift it to a family member.

i picked up an old marcie off of vinted to test the shape but i suspect i might need to size down to 28f instead. the cups on the 28ff are maybe a half inch too wide and hurt at the sternum. i get some lace flapping on top if i am not standing straight.

i might keep this for now in case of size fluctuations. waiting on a 28f blossom in the mail, fingers crossed that it works better.

I love this bra. I was first attracted to the lilac color. But I also love the delicate lacing and silver charm detail. I have matching bikini panties and wear them whenever I can.

I initially purchased this bra in 28F UK. I thought it fit perfectly. However, in a fit check for a different bra, using the Cleo Blossom as a comparison, it was suggested that 28FF might work better for me. I still have and wear the 28F.

This bra is supportive and comfortable. I need to shorten the strap on my smaller side, and after 6 hours I note irritation and discomfort where the strap ... meets the cup on that side. Around the same timeframe, I become *aware* of the wires - in that they seem too long.
I still wear this bra in size 28F and I DO NOT have these issues.

** I realize I'm not allowed to incorporate multiple bra sizes in one review. Hold tight, I'm in the process of adding >100 bras to the bratabase. Cleo Blossom 28F will be coming soon.
