I was excited to try this bra. Initially, I found it comfortable and loved the smooth feeling of the fabric. As usual, I have some quadding on my larger side and space on my smaller side. Neither defect showed through my T-shirt.

After an hour or so of wear, I noticed irritation near my armpits. I'm not sure if this is from the straps being too wide or just the edging of the fabric. The wires are longer than I prefer but are not uncomfortable or poking.

I also noticed the band riding up my back. I tightened the band to the tightest hook & shortened the strap on my smaller side. This helped with the fit on my smaller side and prevented the band from riding up.

I will try it again tomorrow on the middle hook and see how that goes.

I'm not sure if I'll keep this one.

I’ve been tempted by Avocado and their beautiful designs for a while but I was quite reticent about ordering form them given few information and reviews of their products.
I asked them advice about their sizing. Based on my measurements, their first guess was 65F or G, or even a 70E or F, as they bands run firm and I told I was considering switching to 70 bands in the EM, but they suggested trying 65F (or 70E) as the cups may run large. I'm happy to say their guess was right and the bra fits.

The band did feel very firm at the first try but now it feels ... just perfect, I guess it stretched out a little bit. I really like the quality and the materials, particularly the closure, it feels sturdier and its edge is longer and thicker than in my other bras which makes the closure more comfortable and I can’t feel the hooks and eyes on my skin.
When I got it out of the package, I thought it would be too big in cups, they seemed very large and deep indeed. Once I put it on, it turned out the cups fit actually good. Before ordering I was afraid of their flexible underwires and wide cups (Avocado team also told me their underwires were very flexible). In reality, the underwires aren’t much more flexible than in EM bras. The cups are a little bit too wide for me but I actually like it. The underwires don’t poke under my armpits and thanks to the underwires being a littler bit too wide, the cups hold all my breast tissue all day long which is not always the case while wearing bras with narrower cups – the breast tissue tends to escape outside the cups under my armpits at the end of the day.
The centre gore is really high. I hoped that it wouldn’t be painful with soft wires but it still is. I first thought it was due to the firm band, but the gore still hurt with an extender. Then I had the idea of pushing the wires in the channels – they’re actually shorter than the channels which lets me push them to the other end. Unfortunately, the underwires don’t stay put in their new position and I have to push them back throughout the day. I’m considering bending the wires to definitely resolve this problem.
After wearing the bra for several hours I realised that the cups actually run very high under my armpits and cut in a little bit in certain positions. I would definitely prefer the cups to be lower in this area but can bear with that.
The straps are fully adjustable, a little bit thinner than those in EM bras but I really like them and find them even more comfortable - they’re stretchier than I’m used to but at the same time they’re quite thick. They're like stuck to my skin, don't cut in and don't fall off in any position.
This cut is called NF which stands for “natural firm” and I think there’s no better name to describe the shape this bra gives. I thought this shape wouldn’t quite work for my FOB boobs because it would highlight my natural shape that I don’t really like, I prefer the rounded shape that EM bra gives. On the other hand I was afraid that the RV cut would be too open on top for me.
In reality, this cut seems to be made for a breast shape like mine and I really like how it looks on me. The shape is really natural and surprisingly it makes my boobs look bigger under the clothes. I think it’s because my EM bras push all the breast tissue upwards and create cleavage which make them look smaller in profile. In this cut there’s no cleavage because more tissue remains in the bottom part of the cup (ergo more projection, at least in this model as the tulle it’s made of seems softer than in Jewel). At the same time this bra brings wonderfully the breast tissue from the sides to the front (despite of the underwires being a tiny bit too wide). As a result, my boobs are very well contained, supported, they stay in cups all day long.
Calypso doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the design. The colours association is so delicate, the embroidery is gorgeous, I really need more bras like this. The quality fully justifies the price. This bra is wonderfully well made. It’s not only about materials, but about stitches, how it’s sewn in general.

This is a beautiful bra. The embroidery is so pretty, and I really love the eyelash lace framed flower in the middle instead of a bow or a button or some other embellishment. It's different, I like different. Browsing around in the Avocado site, it seems like this bra is no longer made in any color. That's a shame, as it's truly lovely and sophisticated.
Unfortunately for me, that pretty embroidery shows through my t-shirts. Oh well.
So, this bra is a first for me in that it brings to attention an unevenness I was previously ignorant of. I know most women have a bigger and a smaller side. I ... didn't think I was any different and knew my left side was slightly larger. But I've never had a bra that highlighted that so much. This one does. My left is larger and fills the cup perfectly, seriously, like made for my breast perfect. The right side, not so much. It fits well up to the seam separating the cup from the embroidered upper and fits well again at the eyelash lace trim, but there is a bit of gaping in between. Still normal, but what happened in this bra that I've not had happen before was my larger breast pretty much pulled the whole bra to its side so I had one part of the gore tacking nicely on my sternum while the other is sitting on my left side tissue. All the adjustments in the world wouldn't fix it, so I sewed the wires together and now it's much better. I can fit two fingers in between my breasts, I've never had to narrow a gore for myself before.
Anyway, the rest of the bra is great. The band is nice and tight on the loosest hook, the straps feel good and aren't too wide set, but they are only half adjustable (I wonder if I could cram the adjuster onto that lace if need be) the front is trimmed with more of that pretty lace.
The shape is a bit pointer than what I get from the rest of my bras, but it's still a nice one, sort of a rounded point, not a bullet.

I set the fit based on my left side after the (reversible) gore alteration.

The bra it’s beautiful. I bought it to another Bratabase user to check my size in Avocado.
The bra fits good overall but there’s some wrinkling near the gore and in the top part of the cup. The cups are really open, even for my FoT breast. The size is good, I own another 65G Avocado bra that’s fits better though.

This is such a gorgeous bra.
And the perfect nude for me!
I can get away fine with other "nude" bras, but this is just perfect.
    I love the detailing also.

I'm not keeping this because for me, the band felt uncomfortable and (what settles my decision) the cups are surprisingly too wide. Like I could see the sides of my boobs about an inch from the wires and it looked silly. It's difficult to see in the photos.
I would like to try this in like a 70D and see if it'd work at all. I found the band to be about 28.5-29". Cup depth was good, but as usual, wires are ... too wide for me. This has been causing me pain in my bras where this occurs..which is..most of them.

Fabric is like a smooth mesh everywhere, with embroidery in the centers.
Gave me a bit of a funny shape. Almost downward 7, but nothing like my Gossard Phoebe. It was more of a rounded downward 7. Didn't care for it.
    Straps are fully adjustable.

Anyway. I'd recommend this to someone who does need narrower wires, to slightly average, a bit of projection, short (lengthwise)gore (this is one of the closest I have), and either likes a tight band and can wear a 29" with the wires slightly widening, or someone with a 28" ribcage.

For now I will have to let this one go. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

    • I'm confused, the wires are too wide but you recommend it for someone who needs narrow wires, even tho you are not keeping it because of wide wires?

    • 3

Well, she shows the wires measuring 5.1." That's narrow, even if it is too wide for her.

    • 1

dbmamaz Yes. I need wayyyy narrower wires than the average person who needs narrow. I basically need impossibly narrow wires for the depth I need. :/

    • lcl0706 Yep! Haha I guess I should have clarified that in my review. The wires on my 32D bras are almost right, but even they're a little too wide. That's why I thought maybe I could try a 70D, but then idk about depth.

    • I've actually heard wires could be an issue for tuberous boobs, but I'm only slightly, and hadn't ever had an issue with them before recently.

This is a really pretty bra. If you read that on my reviews a lot, its because I am a sucker for pretty bras. The embroidery and seaming laid flat underneath my tee shirt. Win! And didn't show under my white button-up. Double win! Unfortunately I get a sad shape on my larger size and a tiny bit of quadding along the top edge and I think the cup might be too shallow at the wires for me looking at the picture. Since I get a nice shape on my smaller size I think the cup is just a bit too small. From the whole two Avocado bras I have now tried, I say the cups run one size small or at least a half size too small. I feel I am relatively even or fob and wouldn't recommend this to someone fot. The top isn't stretchy. Its nice though for someone like me because it doesn't gap.

BEAUTIFUL BRA!!!! Well made and simply gorgeous. Very comfortable.
Cups are slightly closed on top, so this may be troublesome for more FOT girls. I am slightly FOT and only noticed that it was snug on top on my larger side.

This bra is luxurious; I love the materials avocado uses! Unfortunately, this is about a cup size too big for my UK30E/28F breasts, so this would ideally fit someone who has narrow roots, with FOB-to-even projection, and possible a medium-to-short root or high set breasts.
