    Hasn't set fit

So; this bra I purchased second hand through the Bratabase listings, as an experiment / to narrow down my possible size in Avocado!
I'd been curious about trying Avocado ever since coming across the 'Missunderpinnings' blog (sadly, now closed down) that has been a major help in figuring out my size, some 8-ish years ago!

And when both Comicsgirlsneedbras and SweetnothingsNYC reviewed the 'Ce Soir' bra a couple years back on their blogs, I completely fell in love with the design (https://en.avocouture.eu/category/ce-soir/ce-soir-hct-02 / https://www.bratabase.com/browse/avocado/ce-soir-s204hct/) - but it's just too expensive to justify buying, especially considering the neckline is not very daily-wear-friendly. But to be honest, ... I've secretly been low-key mourning the day when they eventually decide to discontinue it.. So yeah, it's still on my bra-lottery-wishlist !

Anyhow, back to Greta: as I was looking for a pandemic-friendly (a.k.a. one size up from my regular rotation (; ) unlined black bra, this 70K - Avocado » Greta (S184A) seemed like a good 'diagnostic' / comfort / weight fluctuation bra. I like the fuss-free design with the diagonal stripey pattern and the 'chunky' lace.

As I was kind of expecting (from the measurements and communicating with the seller), both the band and the cups turned out to be too large for me.
The cups are mostly too wide and tall (as seen in pictures; one cup pinned at the seams to be lower / smaller, the other left as-is).

So in short, this will definitely take some frankenbra-ing for it to be wearable. Regardless, it was a useful trial, as I figured out that altering the cups (and shortening the band) would actually be super helpful in creating a better fit. In the pictures you can see the way I'd be sewing.

However, one major concern / issue that would not be remedied by this alteration in the cups, is the gore being too tall and wide.
I've actually considered removing the wires altogether and see where that leaves me - possibly with a bralette-kind of style?

Either way, trying this Greta bra helped me decide that if I ever >were< to win the lottery / get major tax returns / have money to spare, my wish-upon-a-star-bra Ce Soir would probably fit me in a 65J/65K or 70H/70J.

I was longing for the Calypso for ages, and was so happy to finally got the chance to try it! The RV cut turned out to be my favorite! It has toooons of projection and despite being a tad too wide for my narrow roots, it doesn't bother me!

    Fits

I will first share my "stats": FOB, centre-full, narrow roots, average root height, I believe I have a combination of firm and soft tissue. I'm 5'7 tall.

Thoughts: my first Avocado bra! (or "Avocouture," as they're called now).

I wanted to add another Polish bra to my order (I had a shopogolic.net order and I wanted to order enough bras to make the final shipping "worth it") so I decided to try out Avocado: as far as sizing, I cheated because I found a blogger who was measuring the same as me https://www.sweetnothingsnyc.com/2016/11/03/review-avocado-jewel-bra-and-short/ and I bought the same size that she ordered - because ... it turned out to be on sale! So, I though it was fate. I was measuring 32GG. So, I sized up in the band and down in the cups.

The sizing seems right: if you can believe it, I think the shape is actually a bit minimizing under clothes. The underwires are WIDE, and almost like "eyebrow-shaped" (upside eyebrows), or Nike swoosh shaped: I feel like the bra fits even though I have several "thumbs" of space on the side - between the side underwire and my actual breast tissue. It doesn't bother my comfort level, and the bra is still supportive.

The way the underwires are shaped, I do think the bra is actually a bit minimizing (I know I've said that before). Instead of having my boobs *front and center* like Comexim and Ewa Michalak, I get a *slight* East-West shape and I do think the underwires kind of minimize my boobs (I know it doesn't look like that from the pictures, but underneath my clothes).

However, because it's only 2 thin layers of mesh on the bottom, your nipples will show through- at least for this particular style. If you want more nipple concealment in a soft bra - probably try Ewa Michalak BM?

Wearing this bra, I felt like I had a SUPERPOWER, lol, because it's so beautiful and it's such a confidence boost to have my secret well-fitting & beautiful bras/underwear on, that nobody knows about! I sort of regret that I didn't also order the matching undies - but I don't think they had my size left, IIRC.

Black isn't my colour : ( , but I saw this and I wanted it: the back on this bra is amazing, even though it probably doesn't look like much, but the FABRIC used for the wings is durable, yet SOFT. So, that is what you are getting for the luxury price point. I've tried other luxury brands (like Katherine Hamilton) - yes, I know the word "luxury" is just a marketing term - and they don't use the same quality for the back/wings of the bra, but I 10/10 recommend. It makes the back of the bra so soft and comfy - like I said, I have no other bras like this to compare to.

So, even though I *love* this bra, there are two downsides for me. I don't mind that it's not exactly *thin t-shirt appropriate* It is sheer, but that's fine b/c I have other bras I can wear for thin fabrics. One downside is: the beautiful embroidery in the front is just a smidge scratchy for my sensitive skin : ( It's still wearable, and I didn't develop a rash, but I do sometimes notice it's scratchiness (this probably doesn't apply to all Avocado designs though).

so if one has sensitive skin, I've never had issues with Ewa Michalak or Comexim bras (if Polish bras are your thing), even their more ornate bras are still soft, imo.

Lastly, I did notice *on my smaller side* (right side), the strap did cut in a bit and cause some chafing on my right side. I'll experiment and see if I can make the strap tighter on that side and see if that can alleviate that issue - but I'm not sure. The straps are wide - they don't seem too wide for me (or annoyingly wide either) - I was trying to angle them in throughout the day, but ideally I would not have to adjust the shoulder straps throughout the day.

Because of the above issue, I do wonder how "petite friendly" Avocado is?? They might not work so well for people with short roots, or high-set breasts in this style and size. Although I do think that their 60 bands - being so tight - they may work for an actual 55 band (26 band UK) person. I would definitely size up in the band and size down in the cup, perhaps more than one cup.

The price was great, 165 pln so about $39 usd on sale (their January clearance), which is an excellent price for a bra like this, that's ethically made. I happened to buy them through a package forwarding service, but after I purchased through them, I realized Avocado ships basically everywhere, and they also use affordable shipping : ) So, I wouldn't hesitate to buy direct next time.

Even though I do have a few minor issues, like the scratchiness of the embroidery in the front, and the mild chaffing of the bra strap (a little bit of an "armpit eater," that's why I question if Avocado is good for short roots - probably not) I could not part with this bra, because it's beautiful, and it makes me feel like a MILLION BUCKS when I wear it, lol: every woman/bra wearer should have a bra like this! : )

I'll probably buy another Avocado bra in a year or so, I'm going to do more research and build up my Avocado collection slowly.

edit: there is elastic on the top of the cup. I think this style (NF) could tolerate *slightly more* fullness on the top than what I have - but not a ton more, lol. I wonder if it would cut into FOT shape.

Oh my gosh it’s beautiful on you!!! That embroidery is gorgeous. I’m with you, I’m not a fan of black bras, but this is very pretty. I think the lace makes it unique as opposed to a basic black bra. Hopefully the itch goes away with washing.

    • 1

      Happy2BraShop , thank u!!!

I know, I'm going to wash it and hope that it softens up just a tiny bit - it's wearable but just a little scratchy which can happen with some of the more ornate bras (unfortunately).

BEAUTIFUL! Thx for your thoughts and recommendations 🙂

So true. I love me some fancy bras, but I value comfort over all. Only thing worse than an itchy bra, is itchy lace underwear! Haha.

My very favorite of the bras I recently ordered from Avocado (including RV Calypso and HC Chamade). The band is perfect, the gore is super thin and the wires are quite narrowish, staying in my IMF all day. There is a good amount of room for me both at the bottom of the cup and near the center gore. I used to think that the reason I don’t get a well-tacking gore in Comexim (unless it’s altered to overlap) was due to the soft wires, but the wires on this bra are equally if not more flexible and tack perfectly… I now understand that that might be more ... of a center projection issue. The cups on this are perfect, except for some minor wrinkling on the sides as a result of the wire channels being taller than the underwires themselves. The shape is round and beautifully uplifted! The materials feel exquisite… the fabric of the bra overall has very little stretch, so it feels like it will last a long time and hold up to wear nicely. Beneath a t-shirt, there's a vague hint of raised lines caused by the pleats, but it's subtle and doesn't personally bother me.

    • Where did you order these avocados from? They're beautiful. I'm so glad
you posted these pics & measurements too. Avocado is EU sizing right? Do they have their own sizing system? This would have been my best guess at a size in Avocado but all of the 65Gs you've posted would be huge on me. Do they do 60 bands?

    • 3

lcl0706 So glad to be of help, I wasn't able to find much info on the brand myself before placing an order! I ordered direct from Avocado's E-shop... they accept Paypal and it was pretty straightforward, just like ordering from Ewa or Comexim. I *think* it's most comparable to EU sizing, but without any double letters. I suspect there's larger than a 1 inch increment between cups, because normally I'd need 65H in EU. They do have 60 bands. Here's an older fit guide from Miss Underpinnings who wears a 60H:

      http://www.missunderpinnings.com/2013/11/the-guide-to-avocados-constructions-fit.html

    • So beautiful!!

    • "Super thin gore"!!! Is the gore base thinner than others, too? Hoping, praying, crossing my fingers :-) Thanks for your review, VioletIridescence

    • Oops. Is the gore base more narrow than others? "Thinner" wires might help create a more narrow gore base ;-)

    • 1

Love4Pollinators It's quite a bit more narrow at the base than my 30FF Cleo Marcie, and very slightly more narrow than my 30G SM Wanilla. I just did a quick visual comparison but can take measurements if you'd like :)

    • It looks great! Is it unlined, I can't quite tell?

    • Wilderness1 Yep, it's unlined!

    • I'd sincerely appreciate measurements of the distance between the wires at the base. Thank you! :-) :-)

    • VioletIridescence thank you for the pointers! I have seen Miss Underpinnings guide but I've yet to be able to find a guide for their new lettering system - like what's RV? Isn't there an NF or NV or something like that? Not sure they even do A, K, and H anymore.

If Miss Underpinning's is wearing a 60H, and you're in a 65G.... you both are 1-2 cup sizes larger than me. Ugh. I would love to try one some day, especially Calypso or this one. I love all 3 you've posted. But the price and lack of fit knowledge and sizing kind of scares me. I'm thinking I'd need a 60G, maybe. I hate to get something expensive and be stuck with it. Maybe I'll ask Aisha at Zathiya if she can ballpark my size based on my current Comexim and EM sizes, since she's stocking a few Avocados these days.

    • lcl0706 I believe RV is the successor of the old A and K cuts, and that NF is based on the old H cut... but having never tried those in the first place I'm not exactly sure either! The unlined halfcups are newer as far as I can tell. Yep, maybe consult Aisha and see what she has to say... maybe she can illuminate all the cuts and sizing much better!

    • 1

Love4Pollinators Okay here's a quick sample from some other bras that also fit me!
      Avocado Caprice: 1.3"
      Curvy Kate Bardot 30G: 1.5"
      SM Wanilla 65G : 1.6"
      Cleo Marcie 30FF: 1.8"

    • Thank you! Very helpful!!!

    • 2

lcl0706 there is a concise styles guide on avocado's website: http://avocado.com.pl/sklep/en/23-bra-styles

    • Awesome thank you!

    • 1

lcl0706 I have an older Avocado unpadded bra that fits in 60G, but no idea if the new models come in the same sizing. I'd say that would be a good size for you to start with. It fits me on the roomy end with slightly too tight band.

This bra will probably suit average projected (not immediately projected) FoT / large root to even, narrow root width the best

    Pros:
the design is so so pretty
the half cup will accomodate to tall and short roots
NO BORING BOWS AT THE GORE
the band is tight: my snug UB is 26 and this 60 band fits just fine on the loosest hook

    Con:
no immediate projection at the wire, when I say no I mean no: it goes like this /
maybe its just my sensitive skin but the lace is pretty scratchy
wires are narrow but personally not narrow enough

Bottom line I think its a great bra (and so so pretty!!) - just not for my shape. Im keeping it for the design.

Long story short: size down if you are FoB, works better for FoT shapes.
The design is beautiful. If you have sensitive skin the lace is pretty scratchy. There isnt a lot of immediate projection. It gives a marie antoinette cleavage. I am really in love with the design of queen misia but I am worried I will have the same issues.

This was my first ever Avocado order, so determining sizing was a bit of a shot in the dark! Avocado's size table put me in between 60H and 65G, so I went for the 65G in fear that the 60 band would be too tight. In reality, this band is a little too loose on me (I'm starting on the last hook straight off the bat). The wires are on the average-wide side in this model-- too wide for my roots, but excellent for someone who loves Polish bras but can't normally wear them due to the narrow wires. The (ultra narrow!) gore is quite high, but ... after bending it outward ever so slightly the bra is comfortable for a full day of wear. I ordered the RV style hoping for a more rounded shape than the NF; unfortunately I'm not quite filling out the the top of the cups and have quite a bit of wrinkling on my smaller side. Over the course of the day, my boobs sort of settle in the bottom of the cups and the shape goes from roundish to more triangular. I think that this issue is worsened by the extra slack in the band, and is not necessarily characteristic of the RV shape as a whole... this bra would probably fit much better on someone in the 30G/32FF UK range.

As for the design, I have no criticism whatsoever. Jade green mesh, mauvey-taupe accents, and fan-shaped embroidery with shimmery turquoise threads... so unique and so beautiful! The materials and entire construction of the bra feels very high quality. I love Calypso so much I'll probably list this bra and consider re-ordering if I can get a better understanding of sizing.

My first Avocado bra and it fits! I had no clue about sizing, but the measurements, the research and the helpful advice of a friendly boob twin all worked out well in the end. My lovely Aurora came to me as a swap with kind revisa : Operation French / Polish. lol
About the construction of the bra: narrow / high gore, narrow wires, deep, close set 3 piece cups with plenty of projection, tight band. It works as a full cup on me and doesn't cut into my tall roots. I am very satisfied with both the quality of ... fabrics used and the rounded shape it gives. I don't think this baby was used much if at all and is a tiny bit tight in the band, which will probably be just perfect with some wear. The fabric of the cups is flexible enough to match my size assymetry, so the smaller breast is not swimming in the cup.
It is always very exciting for me to receive a bra from a new (for me) brand and I am over the stars that it fits at first attempt.

EDIT: If anyone wants to order from Avocados polish website, I suggest some decently strong nerves because their costumer service is not the best. This whole process of ordering and returning took so long. I live is germany, polands neighbour country but still, my order was only shipped 10 days after ordering and paying, then it only took 3 days to arrive, I had to return the items and it took another while until I got impatient and asked if the stuff arrived, then I was told my package had already arrived over a week ago and it could take another week for my refund to be made, ... over one week passed and I contacted them again only for them to write they are sending the refund today.
I hardly got any notifications, not about shipping, I wasn't notified about the return or refund, the answeres from costumer service were very short and neutral.

    -----
Skin HCQ is my dream-everyday-bra. I'm so sad this didn't work out, but I'm going to learn how to sew bras now and I'm definitely gonna take this as inspo.
The style of this bra, the cut, the rounded shape, the way the fabric of the cup flows into the straps - it's beautifull and it feels like your boobs are beeing hugged by soft mesh. If it wasn't for the wire and a bit of lack in depth I woul've kept this and bought it in every color they have.
I have a hugh amount of empty space at the center/bottom next to the wire that I cannot fill out and it makes this bra impossible to comfortably wear.
I recently discovered that I have "splayed roots" and this is the main cause of my unability to find ABTF, it's always the wire!! Most wires are just too round/curved for me wich causes them to slide down and sit 2cm under my root, or I get empty spaces I can't fill. My natural bust root is not an U or bowl shape.

I strongly recommend this for ppl that fit the typical U shaped wires and are not too projected or shallow.

NOTE: the cup width differs. The left cup is 7” wide, the right cup is 7.5” wide. The averaged measurement is what I recorded.

This was one of those rare times when something looks 100 times better in person than it does on the internet. The detail on this bra is GORGEOUS up close: I am so in love with the cute little key on the gore and the stretchy lace. The fabric of this bra is both stretchy and supportive, comfy and breathable, yet luxurious and fancy all at once. Honestly, this bra is both an everyday bra or/and a lacy bedroom bra, able to seamlessly transition ... into whatever role it needs to fill. It has a cute little line of elastic along the top of a cup that I LOVE LOVE LOVE having on bras. Aesthetically and style-wise, this bra is a slam dunk: 10/10.

However, this bra did not fit, for a lot of reasons. Although the band felt like it was exactly the right lengthand fit, the underwires painfully cut into my body underneath my boobs: there was no amount of shimmying that could fix it. I can only assume this is due to the shape of the bra’s wires: when you place this bra on a flat surface, its wires are completely flat against the surface while the band sticks out in a straight line with the bottom of the wires. In most bras, this doesn’t seem to be the case, and the band will angle away from the bottom of the wires, so perhaps this was the issue. Further, the gore came up way too high, and felt like it was forcing my boobs into a very east-west look as it drove them away from each other. The strap placement was so wide on my body that they only reach my shoulder on one side (the good shoulder), whereas the other just kind of dangles down. I could not fill this cup in any way, and it was comically huge on me in terms of depth, width, height, etc: it’s clearly off by more than a full cup size, in my humble opinion. My boobs also appeared to be heavy enough to cause the fabric to roll over itself, but this could also be a function of having zero support from straps and a massively too large cup size. The gore of this bra is also twisting heavily, such that it absolutely will not lie flat against my sternum and causes the cup to bend a little and lose support on the right side wher it meets the gore. The wire width and height were also more than I’d like, but wasn’t necessarily a problem, and was probably also an issue of a too-huge cup.

All in all though, I think I could really enjoy a bra with a cup like this that supports my boob while letting it take a natural shape. Even if this bra specifically is not going to work out, maybe another Avocado or similar style would. I’d need the straps much closer together, and perhaps a smaller cup size than I’d thought. Does anyone have any styles they’d especially recommend?

If it helps, Avocado uses a 4cm system instead of the typical Polish/EU 2cm, or 2.5cm (1") that the US/UK brands use. This would result in larger jumps between cups and the need of a smaller cup than your standard index size.
      http://avocado.com.pl/sklep/en/content/6-fit-guide

It is a gorgeous bra, sorry it didn't fit.

    • 1

MamaPagan I had no idea, thank you so much! How would I go about doing a conversion?

    • 1

I haven't tried them personally, a bit worried about the sizing chart myself! But if you click the link I added, it takes you to their size chart and that should help you pick a size for their bras. I would check the size it gives based on your measurements but also against the size range given for your bra size in other Polish brands. So, check Comexim's size chart, go to your size and see what measurements it says you should be for that size, do the same for Ewa, etc. Then compare the size suggested vs the CM range you tend to need. If that makes sense?

    • 1

That does make a ton of sense, thanks!

The Comexim bra from Breakout Bras came (which I thought was the right size) but still gave me fit issues. Review is still pending, as I’m travelling for the holidays and haven’t had time yet, but it worries me about finding a bra that fits at all, even in brands I’m familiar with (like Comexim).

    • 1

That is understandable, especially with the growing inconsistencies that we are all experiencing lately. :-/
BoB Comexim bras just don't seem to fit like Comexim direct bras so it is not surprising that you didn't get the expected fit. Sorry. :-(

    • 1

Yes, indeed. But Comexim direct shipping is actually pretty cheap now-a-days. 20zl for 1-2 bras vs Ewa's 47zl. And production times have been faster as well. My BF order (2 bras) shipped within 2 weeks which was fast by Comexim standards. But yes, Rouge bras are still a possibility. Yet that seems to be an issue across all the favorite brands lately.... :-/

This bra is so gorgeous and comfortable!

The pictures don't do proper justice to the gorgeous color. It's this lovely metallic blue under black lace. There's a velvet strip at the very top of the cups. The top of the cups and the bottom of the band are decorated in soft lace (which doesn't irritate my sensitive skin!) which sticks out from the bra and the body.

I'm never quite sure what to make of half-cups or how to check their fit versus a plunge bra, but this seems to fit great. The inside of the cups is soft and secure-feeling. The cups are gloriously narrow for a half-cup and ... fit me well. I don't feel like I've got dangerous levels of boob hanging out (as has been a worry in an Ewa Michalak half-cup) but it's still very nicely low-cut--I need to buy some scoop-neck tops!

It's also a very secure bra. It doesn't staple my boobs to my chest but it does keep them very nicely in-place, while I feel a more bouncy in my Ewa half-cup. Although that's probably because the Ewa half-cup had a slightly stretched-out band, and this bra's band is a pretty great length for me, very nicely firm.

A+ bra, I highly recommend it to my boob-twin. If you're narrow, FOT-to-even, center-full, and at least moderately projected, this might be a pretty good bra for you.

Wow, so pretty! Where did you get it??

    • In a swap from another bratabase user--I haven't ordered anything directly from Avocado yet!

This looks fabulous on you! So glad to see it's found a home where it can do good work ;)

Thanks! It's honestly become one of my favorite bras already.

Feels like a cross between Panache Jasmine, & Ewa Michalak SM cut

Adore this smooth lightweight sturdy mesh build, immediate projection is a little lacking as in Jasmine but not as severe. Overall projection better than in the SM.

Cups are a bit shorter/wider than typically found in this sizing (lower wing/gore) and a fair vit of lift in the center ... of cup but not at the cost of depth. Surely this is due to the lighter materials used. Frame and upper band construction is an interesting mode to right things in and compensate for tissue mobility from lighter fabrics.

While this isn't large enough for me, it's quite close enough to how much closer this design is for my compounded short/full fit needs.

    Fits

I'm in between 60E and 60F on the Avocado size chart. Their advice is to pick the larger one if you're between sizes, but the 60E was a better fit for me. Maybe because I'm FOB? The 60F cups were too deep and tall. Tbh I might have gone with a 60D if they made that size, since this is still a bit taller in the cups than I need (the depth is fine though). If they reduced cups like Comexim it would be great.

The band is comfortable, snug for a 28. I can wear it on the last hook without it affecting the fit of the ... cups, but rides up a little on me (26FF). I definitely prefer a tighter band, but it'll do.

Prices are higher on the English site due to VAT btw, which I didn't realize.

Edit: saw in one of the product descriptions to size down if you're in between for the HCT/HCQ styles. The NF runs smaller, but they suggested I stay with 60E for that style so I'll try that sometime.

Update: The NF does not suit my shape at all. Maybe it's for someone more FOT? It fit like a Panache Jasmine I tried a couple months ago, where the cups were maybe the right depth but empty/gaping on top.

    Hasn't set fit

Notable - runs full band small, runs big in cup, extremely soft underwires. Deep and on me functions as slightly narrow despite underwire warping.

Construction - as usual I can't fault it. All the seams and finishing is neat, the materials are chosen from a quality and comfort perspective as well as an aesthetic one. The bottom section of the cup is two layers of mesh with some vertical stretch and no horizontal stretch. The top section is embroidered stretch lace which due to the embroidery has little vertical stretch but more horizontal stretch. Straps connect to the top section of the cup. The front section of the ... straps is covered in the same fabric as the top layer of the bottom cup section, but it's relatively thin so it's possible to adjust the strap slider to sit on top of it. Therefore I consider the bra to have fully adjustable straps. Strap positioning is really good, not in my armpits or sliding off my shoulder, it's in a good spot even when wearing the bra with an extender. The three hook eyelet section is backed in soft stretchy fabric, and the band is a sturdy matte knit with a velvety feel on the inside. The bra has side boning but the ends of the boning channel are tucked under the band elastic which adds stability and reduces poking. The underwires are narrow and very U-shaped. I cannot overstate how soft and flexible they are, and there definitely is distortion when wearing. At maximum stretch they warp about an inch wider but I don't really think they warp as much on me when worn. Still, if you need firm wires, you may want to consider swapping them.

Fit - as already pointed out it runs about a full band size small. It also doesn't have a lot of give, it stretches to just over 30" and that's the hard limit. The depth and the stretch lace makes the cup extremely accommodating, I'm pushing 32H currently and it's actually doable, but I do think 32GG is better for this size. There's plenty of room at the center gore and a pretty good amount of room at the bottom of the cup - I experience a microscopic amount of wrinkling but no sliding down. Because the center gore swoops up in a reverse U shape at the bottom it actually fits taller on me than what it measures as. The gore separation is pretty small but I'm quite close set on the very top so it's poking my breasts a little bit and lifting slightly as the underwires are so soft. I feel like the bra is pushing my breasts apart but it's not an east-west effect, it's probably happening due to the wire distortion and the deepest part of the cup is still pretty central so that negates the separating effect. "Round versatile" is an apt name for the cut, I feel like I have two basketballs strapped to my chest. Cleo has nothing on this roundness, it is remarkable. I will say though that the stretch lace and the soft wires make it slightly less stable than I'm used to, there's no escaping out of the cups but there's noticeable jiggle with fast movement. Even walking it's comparable to halfcups for me as the stretch lace has no trim on top to help stabilize it.

Looks - I'm actually positively surprised, it looks a bit meh on promotional images and in blogs. The gunmetal embroidery and black lace looks striking next to my skin (I guess it works as well on me as I'm really quite pale), the striped mesh is classy and subtle, the big yet unobtrusive thick ribbon and lace bow at the center gore is feminine without being obvious or overpowering. The center gore uses the same striped mesh as the bottom of the cups, it also extends to the side boning. The back is a simple semi-matte black. The bra uses matching black hardware throughout.

Holy color splash Batman! This is the bra to wear on a gray & gloomy day, this is the one to pull out when you are feeling down and need a little carnivale going on under your clothes. Purple, ochre, pink, and somehow it all works like stained glass or that bejeweled statement necklace you wear with the black dress. It also has cunning little cut-outs at strategic places: below the gore, along the top lace, at the straps. Light as a feather 3 part mesh cups with a strong and firm band provide great support. The mesh is soft and the seams are flat. The embroidery/lace is ... heavy but not thick or bumpy, it lies flat under clothing (tho I didn't try it under a knit shirt). Average narrow wires and deep cups at the bottom, but the top panel does angle in and is not stretchy, so not for tall roots. Narrow gore is fairly high and again the angle of the top piece may challenge center-full shapes. The Avocado A cut centers, lifts and separates, giving a natural but slightly oval shape that is very French-looking. Impeccable quality construction and fabrics.

Powdery blue semi-sheer lace over a pale mauve background… beautiful! This functions almost as a nude for me under some light colored clothing. As a lover of unlined halfcups (especially the tragically discontinued Ewa Michalak HM!), I had to try this! The neckline cuts low and squarish across my boobs, very Marie Antoinette looking. The lace used on the cups has a good amount of stretch, so I think it will be very accomodating to size fluctuations throughout the month. There’s a thin elasticated edge on the cups, which leads me to believe that this style is geared more toward the FOB crowd, but it’s just fine on my even shape. The band fits well on the second set of hooks, and the profile is round and a bit minimized from the side. It’s super comfortable to wear!

Oh dear. I cant believe that 60E can fit me that well!
Ive never tried Avocado before and was sure that this bra will be too tight and too small in the cups but nothing like that! (almost nothing)
Firs of all it looks really gently but bit sexy too.
The straps are soooooo stretchy! never had bra with that stretchy straps but theyre so soft and dont dig in! theyre very light. Also the strap placement is quite good on me.
The cups, theyre very forgiving - even if theres ribbon they cause very tiny quadboob that is almost not noticeable.
The wires are the 2nd issue after stretchy straps. They're very narrow, bit too narrow for me, probably 60F/65E would work better but theyre very soft and cant feel them when the bra is on
Bra was used, so the band is stretched now, but fit my 72cm underbust perfectly

I am so pleased with this bra. But I wish to get it in bigger size! I really love the simple look of it!

No no, it's me who's in love with Annick!
This isn't my first Avocado bra, but the previous one was second-hand with an aaaaaaawfully stretched 60 band. First time ordering directly from Avocado, I fell in love with Annick In Love the moment I put her on and I'm never ever taking her off.
The size is spot on, and the fit is better than any other unpadded bra I've ever tried so far - even better than Ewa's SM, which was my best unpadded fit before falling for Annick. The wires are rather soft, yet the gore tacks perfectly, so the combination of comfort and support is just ... a whole new realm of fantastic.
Plenty projection, plenty narrow, not too round - for better and for worse.
The only con as far as I'm concerned is the thin band that has only two hooks. It feels firm enough now, but I'm afraid it might stretch too quickly.
I was hesitating for a long time before purchasing Avocado bras due to the higher price point, but realising now they're completely worth it. I'd rather save up on two or three cheap ones with an ok-ish fit so I can have one magnificent piece like this one. Jeez! Now I need to eat stale bread for a couple months so I can get the Orlando.

    Edit:
I now have the Annick in two colourways, and there are slight differences between them.
The Cassis bra is softer, and the band is stretchier and narrower - whereas the Black/Green bra is somewhat stiffer, and the band is twice as thick and not stretchy at all.

I got this from another user. Using Avocado's size chart, this is one of the sizes recommended for me. I also wanted to try the K cut (I have an A cut as well as an H cut on the way to me). Being more of a 28-30, I knew the band would be too large for me in this and planned on altering it if the cups worked for me.
Fit wise, no, just no. The band was too big, which I anticipated and the cups were huge. I tried it with a Rixie clip which was better but created new problems. There was not enough immediate ... projection on the bottom for me and the bra was almost immediately pushed down by my breasts. The upper portion of the cups were a mess on me as well. The horizontal seam created a huge amount of quadding while the very upper portion of the lace and ribbon remained unfilled and gaping. All of the extra bagginess that's on top, I need below! Because of that, I don't think trying a size down would work for me. So I'm chalking it up to a mismatch between myself and the K cuts.
The bra is gorgeous though and seems well made. I really like the almost neoprene type band and ruffled ribbon across the cups.
I was able to pass this bra on to somebody more suited for it. It looks smashing on her so at least it has a good home.
