... looking in the mirror, past my myriad flaws, catching a fleeting glimpse of the radiantly beautiful woman I am, reminding me of how grateful and fortunate I am to be that woman.
This is just my own, very personal experience. I am keenly aware that for some, such an experience might be very painful.

I can absolutely relate. My boyfriend told me recently that he loves me most when I have no makeup on, I am in sweatpants and braless. AN boy, did I cry.
An amazing moment, Scharminkeltje. And a very appreciative and perceptive boyfriend. *hugs*

It's been two years almost to the date Made in Preston launched.
Made in Preston doesn't exist anymore. The site is down, social media channels are also being closed. Their Facebook page is closed, twitter account is still up but abandoned since end of October.
If you have any returns, exchanges or refunds pending I suggest talking to your bank or PayPal.
I'm pretty sure this isn't the last we'll hear of Nikki Hesford's bust-related business ventures.

Received my ~Wellfitting~ order today! Aka, Comexim -- in my case, Comexim Tropical Garden (191) in a 32J and a 32K.
Well, technically, I received it Wednesday. But my post office hates delivering things to me so I had to wait until I could actually go there to pick it up.
I'm trying to decide if the 32 ... is too tight or not. It feels riiight on that edge. Maybe I should get my first-ever extender? I'd only wear it 1 hook bigger, rather than 3, I think.
The (32)K-cup seems perfect, though. Fits my boobs SO WELL. c: The narrow wires are just GREAT. Wow. It was like, no swooping and scooping, just... perfectly _in_ there. And I've never had such a great plunge, this is like optimal separation.
Pics / measurements tomorrow. Might do a "fitting help" for opinions on the extender versus going up a size! I measure 29.5, but Comexim *can* sometimes run small...

I have that bra in a 70G, and while the cups fit AMAZINGLY well, the band is super tight. I've read that their black materials run small. I use an extender, but if I bought it again, I'd personally go for a larger band in this particular model. The band on my 70G Basic is great, though, so Comexim's bands aren't all that tight. I also measure about 29.5.
black_cardigan Wow, thank you! That is amazingly helpful. :D Hmm, since I only just got it, and since I need to return the other one anyway, I might order up...
The basic is that pretty "nude" bra, right? :|a Hmmmm tempting...

what i learned:
*to take breaks (sewn within 2 hours--includes cutting pattern, etc.)
*go slowly, hast does make waste, lol
*re-make pattern pieces; i made my own pattern from an old bra i cut up, a 32D - Paramour » Melody Full Busted Demi Contour Bra (135003) or use ready-made pattern
how it turned out:
*i messed up ... a couple steps as i was just "winging it", but after further research i found out what couple problems i did have and know how to do them for next time
how it fits:
*well the gore doesn't tack, but that's probably because of the plastic "wires" i used instead of metal because i didn't know if i was going to have to cut them to size
*the point where the 3 cup pieces meet are too pointy leaving a tad bit of empty space
*the band fits nice and snug
*i improvised the straps because i didn't have enough strap length to do a u-band, and would have liked one
all in all i don't think it's "too" bad...

For a first try I think that turned out pretty good. I love the blue fabric!
That looks like a brilliant piece of work! Yes, the fabric is very lovely. I am seriously impressed.

I recently purchased a corset. It's the Poetry model from http://www.corsetconnection.com. I had previously purchased the Steel Magnolia longline corset, but it was a little too curvy and too short for me. They are both underbust corsets so I'm not sure how much interest there is here, since we're all about bras.
What rather surprised me ... was how much support I received from the corset, although if I'd thought about it, it wouldn't have.
It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood here in Seattle yesterday, so I played hooky from work and went shopping at Nordstrom's. They were having their periodic clearance sale, which, unfortunately for me, included selected shoes. I did exercise a modest amount of restraint and only bought 3 pairs of pumps. Shoe details available upon request.
I then wandered upstairs to lingerie since I've been looking at buying a sports bra, the Panache Sports Bra (5021) in particular. The clerk I worked with was wonderful, although she had to come to her own conclusion that I really was a 38G US. We talked bras for a long time and had a very nice time. I was wearing the 38G - Parfait By Affinitas » Celine Wire Bra (7302) and I showed her how amazingly well it fit me. I'm not sure Nordstrom's carries the Parfait brand, but she wasn't particularly familiar with it. I told her about Bratabase and later e-mailed a link. I also asked her if she was familiar with Polish bras (laughing here because she loves bras, beautiful bras in particular, and I know what a money pit they can be) and she said no, so I also sent her a few links for them as well.
I wound up buying the Panache sports bra, although they didn't have the magenta colourway in the store, so it's on order. I also later bought a 38G - Wacoal » Red Carpet Convertible (854119) strapless because I wandered over to the larger-sized women's area and bought several dresses, one of which required a strapless bra, although I can wear it without if I wear my new corset, because of the unexpected support.
Here are a couple of pics of me in my new Karen Kane dress, wearing my new corset, no bra. I'd put up photos of the other dresses but I *really* hate taking self-portraits. It is such a PITA and I don't really have any decent area to take them anyway.

It doesn't really show in the pics, and it's probably more in my head than in the image, but the corset really does give me some curves I otherwise don't have, given the state of affairs with my generous girth.

Sooooo, the corset that didn't work for you... I'm short and curvy and in need of a corset if you're thinking of selling it.

I've decided to place my first order with Comexim and could use some help with translating. I'd like to request a wider gore (if they even do this alteration), can anyone help me with how to ask for this in Polish? Thanks!

I have no idea what Australian band sizes mean. What is a band size 6?

I think a 6 is the same as 28.

If I had a bra brand, I would use index sizes. I would have a straight-forward naming system for the models (like certain endings meaning plunge, halfcup, etc...). The naming thing would be super cool, I think. Samanta has a cool system going on, but it is confusing because model numbers aren't unique. There ... is a certain style/theme that is named, and they have it in their multiple cuts which are numbers. So there is a Mintaka A124 and a Mintaka A330. And they are pretty different but have the same name. I think that is a cool system as they have the same design in many styles, but it gets confusing (especially to add to Bratabase, LOL).
I would have weird franken-names. Say the suffix "-ella" meant "plunge" and "-iana" meant half cup. I could have a base design called "Prim" (I have no idea how I thought up that name lol). The bras could be called Primella and Primiana. You would know they are the same design, and also immediately know what style it is in based on the name, which is more succinct than "Prim Plunge" and "Prim Halfcup." Especially if there are cuts that are hard to distinguish in a name, like what Samanta makes. And, sister cuts would be immediately apparent.
Model numbers would follow the same pattern as names, so they would be unique but it's a logical system. "Prim" design is 001-. Plunge is -01 and halfcup -02. Primella is 00101 and Primiana is 00102. Or maybe cuts could be letter combinations.
I don't know, this just sounds so cool to me. The hardest part would be making up names that go with anything! If this already exists, I'd be amazed.

I always wanted a bra to be called like me, Agata :P
I will remember that for you, Scharminkeltje. I will write it down and remember for when I am famous and can afford to make this exquisite bra company!!

This bra is for: shallow, broad rooted, medium or far apart spaced breasts. If you are very FOT or very tall rooted this might not be for you. This is about as broad wired as I can stand for bras. If the wires were any more broad (Freya Deco Strapless, Natori Feathers) I would not want it. I don't like the colour and I will be exchanging it for another colour.
Navy colorway

WOW! I hadn't seen their swimwear before; it's gorgeous! Un?Luckily, the tops that made my heart beat faster weren't available in my cup size.
I really love the filis deco suit, but I've got 3 decent fitting suits already (and don't swim lol)
