Although btb says this fits me, I think it's too large in the cups. I fill them out but when I jump up and down wearing it I bounce. I've read that Shock Absorbers work mainly by compression so I obviously need more than this is giving me. I'll probably try a 36FF. I think 36F will be too small.
This bra has 2 sets of hooks which contributes to the very supportive feel of it. I can't fasten or unfasten the top set while wearing the bra but if I fasten just the top set set and put it on over my head I can ...then adjust and fasten the bottom hooks.
The cups have an inner support sling that goes all around the cup leaving mainly just the nipple area exposed, at least in this size. I think the sling is narrower in smaller cups. My tissue is soft so probably the smaller size will look more lumpy than this does. The sling provides some encapsulation and lift so it seems like a pretty good sports bra in the correct size. If I see one in 36FF at a good price I'm going to snap it up like I did this one. Read more 101 more words
I don't like how this fits on me, It kind of smooshes my boobs down - I like the uplift of panache sport and so far haven't really liked any other sports bra. I'm trying to bodybuild and I find this pushes my lat out (makes my underarms look fat) as my lats are quite pronounced (I WORK HARD FOR THEM! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":p" /> )
This is probably a better bra for cardio or yoga or something. Not for weight lifting IMO
It should be noted that my measurements for this bra were after I'd already been wearing it for almost 2 years! But it was great when it was still snug, it has sstretched out quite a bit now and definitely have always gotten some quad boob, but not terribly.
It was very secure and snug when I got it, but even then the straps cut into my shoulders quite a bit and I can't wear it for more than a few hours. This is fine for working out anyway and much better than the stretchy sports bras I used until I got this one! These days I'd probably order a 30FF if I were to buy this bra again, though I think I'd go for something more supportive.
This is a very supportive non-under wired sports bra. This fits me pretty well. There's a tiny bit of wrinkling at the bottom of the cup that might work better for someone with a little more fullness on bottom. For me personally it's just cosmetic and doesn't affect its function. This 30DD is a sister size for me as the don't do a 28E but the band is still tight enough. It gives a good rounded shape under clothes. It's fairly high and closed on top which I don't need as support but I imagine would be useful for bigger sizes. the straps are quite wide and where they meet under the arm are a little stiff especially when when moving arms around playing sport.
Fit: The band stretched to 43 inches, and I would have liked a firmer band in a sports bra. I could have fastened it on the tightest hook. However, there is no sister size to the 40HH. The cups were either too small at the apex or an awkward fit, I'm not sure. I generally collapsed over the band and had cleavage at the top so if I sized up I figured I would get less support (and they don’t make it in that size) and if I sized down I was going to pop ...out the top. I could not fasten the top hooks however, because my arms don't reach there, so that defeated the purpose of the bra entirely as I don't want to ask women in the gym locker to fasten my bra for me. Where are all the front close sports bras in my size?
Comfort: It was ok. I wasn't a fan of the exposed inner seaming pressing on my tissue. The fabrics were soft and thick, but not as smooth as other bras. The band was comfortable. Probably too comfortable.
Style: I loved the colors, the pattern was not my style, but the colors were lovely! I would have been happy wearing as a top it with my high waist leggings if it had fit. Read more 132 more words
The band length surprises me! That is long when on the on the other end of the size spectrum, the band is short...too short. Interesting observing the differences in the range.
And, that upper fastener, for me, is critical for support. In fact, I can happily wear my Shock Absorber Active Multi with the band hook unfastened. That really surprised me!
The upper hook is in a very awkward position!!
Sorry this didn't work!
Yeah that was probably the problem. I might look for a cheap one on Amazon and wear it when my husband can help me fasten it.
However, fastening the upper hook may cause you to "pop out the top". Cheap would be good just in case it catapults your tissue out of the cup. ;-) ;-)
I really don;t get that this hype about how Shock Absorber is a great sports bra. It fits so-so, close to fitting, but supports my boobs worse than my S/M - Pepco » Microfibre Gym Bra . This goes straight to the listings section.
Finally I've got it after 2,5 weeks of waiting. I've been told that the condition of this bra is very good, but the hook is smashed, I have to replace it. I found that weak fastening is very often problem with new constructions of SA bras. This is another one with hook problem. The first one was brand new and I knew about the damage. The oldest models don't have this defect.
edit: I've replaced the hook. The bra is nearly perfect https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I use the middle row.
I used it for my today's workout. For the warm-up - the craziest moves my fantasy gave me for about 15 min. Then some Calisthenics exercises like push-ups with legs higher than arms, squats, crunches and many more. After that - a gentle yoga session (mainly slopes and twists).
What I can say... It is not bad. I had to jump really madly to feel my boobs move. When I was beginning, part of my boobs placed themselves between the decolletage and my neck as two, rather flat rolls. During the workout, some tissue moved under my armpits. I can comfortably do exercises in this bra, but I would afraid to do this too often.
The tighest 28 bra I've ever seen. It is great because I am 25-26 inches. I think it runs small in the cup, because an ordinary 28G bra would be too big for me. I own this bra in 30F and 28G and it seems that the depth of the cups is the same, but 28G is higher and gives more coverage. Very usrful for running and jumping, perfect support. Unfortunately, the straps are not fully adjustable. It is also hard to fasten it, because it is so tight
I am 25-26 inches underbust, and this is the tightest 30-band bra I tried, but not tight enough. I wear it on the tightest hook. It is great to wear everyday, travel or to do some lazy sports, but for running I would prefer a 28 band. Unfortunately, the straps are not fully adjustable. Under clother made of strorg fabric, the seams are invisible. This bra is one of my favourite. It gives a good coverage and round smooth shape, and has no wires.
Shock Absorbers often come up on the small side (my other two 28GG ones just about stretch to 28" and the cups are at least one size small) but this is the biggest size difference I've ever seen from them. The band just barely stretches to 25.5", maybe 26" if you really pulled but I wouldn't think it'd be comfortable to wear. I can't really tell how small the cups come up as I can't even fasten it around my waist, but as it's a non-wired compression bra it would be suitable for a range of cup sizes. I would say this would be best for someone who needs around a 24-26FF/G~ give or take a few cup sizes.
My typical size in bras is 65E. I have another Shock Absorber in 70D, but when I tried this in a 70D, I couldn't close the band around my ribcage. The 75C is tight in band, and the bra does a good job of eliminating bounce. I use this to ride horses, and it's very much up to par.
I have moderately projected breasts, and this bra actually gives me a very nice - albeit minimized - rounded shape! The band is quite rigid though, and does dig in a bit, and the straps don't adjust quite short enough for my low-set bust. It seems to do the job though - I wear it for karate, and it keeps everything in place with no bounce. I'd definitely recommend sizing up in the band and down in the cup - I normally wear a 30E, but the 32D is generous enough in the cup and the band is very snug.
the straps are longer (too long) and the cups feel roomier than the older pink version. I can actually do up the top clasp in the back on the tightest hook, which is physically impossible on the pink. I'd say the fit in the band is similarly tight but the cups are more true to size, and therefore less supportive for me. I get more bounce in this than I do in the 28DD Panache Sport. Still usable for sure, but the older pink one I bought secondhand off Bratabase is a much better fit and more effective boob clamp.
I think the newer white version is more true to size but I don't know if that's because of inconsistent sizing between different colourways or if they updated the fit to be less tight.
Interestingly, the fabric composition is different. The pink one is a 62% polyester, 32% polyamide, 6% spandex blend while the white one is 45/44/11. As in, the white version contains twice as much spandex and is noticeably stretchier :/
ordered this not reading reviews. Ordered a 30HH thinking it would fit like a regular bra. Was missing at least 4 inches in band to close. Come to find out Shock Absorber run small and to top it off I needed a bigger band size to begin with. Nice bra if it would fit me
