  1. Bardot Halter Bikini Top (BARD01)

    Didn't fit

I couldn't find any reviews anywhere of Miss Mandalay swim, at least not in this cut, so this was a total experiment for me! And for Bra Science! And for all the other people out there who desperately want a normal-looking, halter tie underwired bikini top! Bardot has average-to-narrow wire width and decently good immediate projection. I wish it was at least lightly padded for nipple coverage. I sister sized due to lack of availability of anything else. Despite all that, this was a surprise success for me, and the best fitting halter bikini I've tried to date. Full review (along with some Asos bottoms) on the blog!

What a great bikini top. I am always on the lookout for tops that are underwired and this top looks perfect. I also like my tops to have a bit more coverage. I am happy for you having some success finding a wonderful bikini. I like you like bottoms with a bit more coverage as well. These ones look almost like boy shorts. Not sure if the would suit me but nice anyway. Thank you for a great review.

Looks fantastic! I want your tummy, but four kids, including a set of twins at 4ft 10 has changed my tummy quite a bit 😃

At first glance, I would never have thought this bikini top was underwired! Thanks for the review.

    Didn't fit

Paige and Paris are the same cut, and I found them equally disappointing. I was excited for them because they have the narrowest wires of any bra I've ever seen in my size, at 5 inches they're a quarter inch narrower than even my Polish bras. However the wires are also quite tall, making a deep U shape. The cup itself is also very tall. The cup doesn't give much support and has an extremely natural shape, much more so than Freya or almost anything else I've tried. This isn't my taste--to me my boobs look practically the same in this bra than they do braless, so I might as well just not wear a bra at all. I appreciate the sentiment of the narrow wires but I'll be returning these and wouldn't try Miss Mandalay again unless they improve the shape and support of their cups.

    Fits

Overall a perfectly lovely bra, but not for me.

Aesthetically, this bra is fantastic. I looove that they made a design element of the supportive side panel by making it a contrasting color of satin. Plus, the lace which makes up the bulk of the cups, in addition to being very pretty, has a gentle amount of stretch which helps with fit. It seems extremely well-made and the fabrics are wonderful to touch, so points all around there! Also, the bra is very comfortable, due in part to the really narrow wires - this bra I think has the narrowest wires I've ever tried, form a ... full U shape rather than a wider crescent. The end effect of this is that even though it offers a lot of coverage, it does not cut into my armpits (unlike SOME BRAS [read: most bras])

My main issue with this bra, despite all these pros, is the shape it creates. Not sure if it's because I'm naturally on the pointy side, or if that's just the way it's supposed to be, but the look is very torpedo-shaped, like a retro pin-up girl. Some people may like this look, but it's definitely not for me. So, despite all its nice points, I'll be putting this one up for sale.
