What a beauty. Ever since I first saw it I wanted it so bad. I finally ordered one from a swedish site with free shipping to try it out. It looks just like the pictures, it's absolutely gorgeous. The colors are perfect. The lace is so nice.
This is a side support type of bra. The entire cup is made of stretch lace lycra. yes, the whole cup is stretchy!!! It doesn't have any additional lining, it's just the lace. It's very soft and lovely, not too stretchy either so you'll still feel supported. The straps are soft too and wide, and for once, they don't feel too wide ...set for me.
I can confirm it does have 3x3 hooks in this size.
The band is very TTS. In my previous experience in ~2014 or something, at around 32FF size, I found Freya to be very stretchy. This one is very good size for me.
on to the negatives. The gore. It doesn't lay flat, it goes sideways or whatever, like it flips over on itself. I know Freya is known to have soft wires in bigger sizes so I assume it's because of this, as well as it's pretty wide. Also it has a bit of a flare to it at the top,
The wires are wide as expected. however I have much less wrinkling than I do in other bras, probably because of the side support style, so for me, it's not that big of a deal actually in this bra.
And finally, sadly and a common occurence for me, I get a fair bit of wrinkling in the bottom of the cup.
I think the biggest dealbreaker for this bra is the gore. If it would lay flat and not flip on it's side, I'd probably keep this (or rather, return this one and order it somewhere cheaper lol because swedish pricing is insane). But yeah. Damn. It's so so beautiful. Read more 214 more words
Boo! What do you think the issue with the gore may be? Buckling from weak wires + heavy breasts? Or too much material / too wide of a gore for more close-set/narrow boobs? Combination?
I had different fit issues with this bra, but mine went back too. It *is* beautiful and it was really comfortable for me, though the wires were very wide for me as well. I would 100% pick this up second-hand later, but for full price I wanted much more uplift and rounding than this could my rather soft tissue. It encased my breast tissue beautifully in the 30J, but the elf slipper shape was too much for my sensibilities at that price point. Better luck next time!
I have incredibly close set boobs but most bras I've tried with this high gore do actually sit flat, like, yeah they sit on my tissue sometimes but they don't flop around. I can't remember which one but I know one I tried in the past did this too, I think it was Panache Envy.
I think it's mostly because the wires are so soft and has a weird flare. I'm not too sure. If it sat like, 2 cm lower I think it would have been better and might have worked.
I'm not too fussed about the side shape for myself, it's not "too" pointy for myself but yeah. I might pick this up later if it goes on sale for like half price :P And then maybe try to adjust the gore or something. it's so pretty I can't even
I first saw the Offbeat on Bravissimo and the backside view of the band intrigued me. It looks oh so soft yet seems to be structurally strong. Viewing the Offbeat on other sites made the band look weird in comparison. Besides being tts, is there anything else you can say about the band? Oh, and thanks for clarifying the number of hooks.
It's pretty soft, silky material, kinda thick and feels sturdy, similar to Elomi Kim's silky cup material. The hooks have like super soft fabric on the inside, it's the softest out of all my bras lol.
For the structure, do you mean like this kind of difference (elomi kim but most of my other bras have the same as Kim) https://i.imgur.com/aMDcIkt.jpg
It has a different shape as well as the "strap" doesn't continue (or whatever to say) on the bra. it's just a normal seam.
The band in your photo structurally does not look like the image on Bravissimo and is exactly like what I was seeing on other sites. I wonder how often that happens? Thanks for providing the comparison to the Elomi Kim, they are similar.
Band is slightly too big. Despite this, it is a rather comfortable bra. The centre gore does not sit flat against my sternum and the wires get twisted. The straps are fairly wide, but I appreciate the comfort they provide. Kind of pointy from the side.
I'm giving up on Freya and sister brands. The wires just aren't stable enough for big cup sizes.
Freya seems to run large in either the cup or the band. I've tried 34HH - Freya ยป Popart Balcony Bra (5002) , and the cups fit well enough - it didn't suit my shape, but it objectively fit. I still found the band a bit big on the 34HH Popart though. That's all to say that if you're considering this bra, try sizing down a cup before sizing down in the band.
The elastic at the top of the cup, as usual, cuts into my soft tissue and causes a quadboob effect. Not crazy about the gore width either. No complaints about the quality of the bra.
I was truly disappointed that this bra did not come close to fitting as I hoped. I am having trouble finding bras in G+ cups that works for my breast type which are full on top, close set and narrow roots. Before buying this bra; I searched Bratabase to find the reported measured cup sizes in this style, which would match my best fitting Cleo bras. This bra was supposed to be a close match and if needed I would make slight adjustments.
The Rouge label and packaging had a AA designation before the Style/Model number which leads me to believe this may have been an earlier ...model/style compared to the AW designations of bras made after 2012. Initially the band felt snug on the center hooks, but was easily stretched by the second fitting to the last set of hooks. The one inch center gore was way too big for my close set breast. The cut and shape of the bra should've given me support, but the gore was two and half inches away from my sternum. This lack of tacking and spacing left my breast feeling unsupported and my shoulders slouching. The height and width of the cups made filling the cup uncomfortable due to my narrow root breast. The wires ran under my armpits and caused the side supports to pinch and bind. The binding pulled my shoulder straps off too. Overall, there was too much wrong with this bra to justify slight adjustment to make it work and I will be sending this bra back.
I found the whole bra to be too small. I need to wear an extender with this bra and still have some spillage over the top. The gore is too wide for me as well and sits at a awkward angle.
I am still new to this, so I hesitate to write a review, but I do think this is a very well-made (and irresistibly cute) bra. Unfortunately, I don't think it's well-suited to my breast shape.
The Hello Dolly would be better for someone who is full on the bottom and has an even slope up towards the neck. On me, the "neckline" winds up looking quite odd and square-ish from above; my breasts push the gore outward, and when I press it against my sternum, I get pretty significant quadboob. My breasts may also be too close together for this style, although the center gore is really not very wide.
This was a very comfortable fit. My close set, full on top breasts pushed the center gore away from my breasts but it was comfortable in the band and i felt supportive. It also gave me a good shape.
This bra ran huge. It was at least two sizes too big, possibly more. I ended up selling this bra to a friend with larger boobs and she couldn't fill it either.
I'm wearing it right now and LOVING it, even though the top half of the cup is insanely flappy, the under-boob portion of the cup has folds from the apex shimmying down, and the straps are way too wideset (not just in front, but also in back).
I need to decide if I'm going to alter it to fit me, as the wire and the band fit me perfectly, but nothing else does. The strap alteration concerns me most; the way that it's wideset in the BACK would require my altering how it is attached all along the back band, not just where it hits the cup in front. I also have concerns of how to alter the cup to keep the seam support and lower the apex.
This bra is absolutely adorable. The print plus green and fuschia accents are simultaneously energetic and subtle. The material feels very nice against the skin.
The band ran truer to size than for most Freya bras I have tried, but I couldn't tell if the cups did or not because of severe shape incompatibility. The cups were way too narrow towards the apex, so I had extra space at the side seam where the upper cup panel meets the side support sling while the upper cup panel flattened out my breast pushed my tissue towards my body. This simultaneously pushed the cups away and crowded my cleavage so that the gore could not tack.
I think someone with wider set breasts and perhaps a more conical shape would do much better in this bra. I don't think it was a matter of upper versus lower fullness because I have compression AND empty space in the upper cape; it's purely a shape issue. Despite these problems the bra is exceptionally comfortable to wear.
