Idol and the similarly shaped Fancies and Starlight might be the worst possible thing Freya could have done for my shape. Imagine taking a 32G - Freya » Deco Moulded Plunge Bra (4234) , making the cups bigger and the gore higher as a t-shirt bra (sounds okay, right?), and then spreading the gore out an extra cm so the breasts sit toward the sides of the body, closing off the tops of the cups so it shoves them downwards, and making the apex of the underwire curve not at the midpoint of the breast, but again, off toward the side. I thought molded Freya was ... a safe bet since I get along pretty well with the Deco (though the bottom of the cups is too shallow on me and folds even in those), but this was tragically bad. I finally took the gore in because it felt so much like someone had just rotated the cups wrong, and this made it /tolerable/, but unfortunately it took up space in the band that I needed and this is uncomfortably snug now. Not good for immediate projection, not good for tall roots or full-on-top, not good for narrow roots, not good for close-set breasts, and not good for people with sensitive ribcages - the wire sits hard against the skin.

The largest band that I could find this in was 38, and it was too tight for me. More importantly, the cups run quite large (wish I had realized that before buying it, but at least I can still return it). I think I could have sized down 2 cups sizes. Despite the best swoop and scoop I could manage, I did not even remotely fill the cups...it was lowkey comical. Not a good match for my shape, as I don't have enough upper fullness for this style, but the wires are nice and wide.

My usual size is 40F in UK sizing. My shape is: very wide roots, short/med root height, close set, med projection, slightly center-full, and functionally full-on-bottom.

This is one of the most supportive bras I’ve ever put on my body in terms of comfort- it seems to naturally correct my posture and relieved neck pain I had NO idea was related to the soft bralettes I’ve been wearing for the past couple of years. It stays in place throughout the day, including while I’m physically active. The wires sit in my IMF and I can literally take deeper breaths while I’m wearing it. You know that feeling when you’re in water and your boobs float? That’s what this bra felt like. Except add in feeling the occasional wire poke on the outer left while ... reaching forward. The band seems longer than my 30s in other brands, but there’s very little stretch, which I like because this fits me best on the tightest hook. HOWEVER, I think the cups are too tall for my body. It’s a perfect fit when I stand in a neutral position with arms down, no wrinkling and the top lies flat. If I slouch or reach forward, it gapes a lot at the top, because the top of the bra is basically right up at my armpit. So I’m basically limited to wearing loose crew necks with this. I wish there was a bra out there with the same level of support with a similarly non-stretchy band but with shorter cups.
