  1. Jitterbug Underwire Halter Bikini (3413)

I loved the images of this print and I had previously purchased the Pier in Black & White last summer so I snapped the Jitterbug up when it went on sale close to Christmas 2012 (there has to be some advantage to having summer at the complete opposite time of year to the northern hemisphere! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" /> ).

Overall, this is a true to size fit with a slightly wide center gore and slightly wide cups. I say wide, but I have very centered breasts and compared to nearly all my other Freya bras, these are the widest underwires I've owned in that brand.

They ... are not high under the arms however so I can mostly ignore them.

Otherwise, the fit is excellent, the band is nice and comfortable and I don't feel that too much weight has to go around the back of my neck to wear this bikini.

The style is somewhat minimising, it's certainly not a push up bra, and I think this makes it quite appropriate for the beach where I feel that I'll blend in nicely with all the string bikinis.

As for the print... it's more garish in person. It's more clumsy. From far away it's very pretty but I think it's a bit chunky up close and it cheapens the bikini. I feel that Freya Swimwear could certainly use some finer lyrca and finer lycra pattern printing, but that's a small complaint.

Because there is a black and white houndstooth trim this will also go really nicely with my plain black bottoms, a black rash vest or even a white beach bag...

Now if only they could bring their fabrics up to the quality of JETS or Isola by Megan Gale...

  2. Pier Halter Bikini Top (3019)

This is by far the best swimsuit I’ve ever had. I originally ordered and reviewed a size 30FF and after trial and error, and realizing I am not a 30FF, I reordered in my now actual size a 28GG in the bright pink color.
The shape is a sweetheart neckline with a ruffle detail along the top of the cup. The underwired cups and wings are lined with mesh material to help keep its structure. It has one plastic clasp in the back with a halter style tie at the neck. The tie straps are thick and have some sort of reinforced elastic material inside the straps to ... aide in support. I still have the complaint that after wearing it for an extended period of time the knotted part of the tie starts to dig in and irritate my neck no matter how loos or tight I tie it.

I paired this top with the matching bikini bottoms (#3022) that have a little ruffle detail on the hips that matches the ruffles on the top of the cups. This suit is fun and functional and very flattering.

    Fits

Fits perfectly (BUT: ABTF calculator suggests 30F/FF, however other 30-band swimsuits felt too loose (especially if they expand in water) and I found that FF sometimes is too small (but other times OK).

Took a leap of faith that 28GG would fit well - it fits amazingly (gore sits exactly where needed, band is secure but not too tight, very slight wrinkle at top of cup - but that is almost impossible to avoid with my breast shape).

TBC how it does in water.

  4. Superstar Banded Halter Bikini Top (3151)

I am a huge fan of this swimsuit. I bought it to replace my 30H - Freya Swim » Superstar Banded Halter Bikini Top (3151) , which I foolishly put in a washing machine. The mesh held up surprisingly well, but there were a couple of small holes in it, so I was nervous about swimming with it in rougher waters. Do NOT put this swimsuit through a washing machine!

I like this band a lot better than the 30. I could never wear a 28 if this were a real bra, but since its band only has one setting and the swimsuit material is quite stretchy, ... this is a really comfortable fit on me. It is definitely not a technical proper fit, but for a swimsuit, all I need is a firm band and a cup size within 2 volumes of my real one. The gore is low, and tacks very nicely, and the cup is wide. The width is on the outer sides of the cups, though, not at the center. This means that I look awesome in this swimsuit because it's not very full-coverage.

A wide cup with inflexible wires would be a curse for my narrow boobs, but with this swimsuit and the soft Freya wires I love, it's a blessing. If I scoop and swoop properly, the nipples of my FOB boobs end up in the mesh section. However, the width of the cups means I can tuck my boobs further in for safekeeping. This swimsuit is unlined, so I want to add padding to the opaque parts of the cup for more nipple coverage in cold water. The mesh section is less big and extreme than it was in the 30H version. This means less areola showthrough, but mine are totally still visible. I don't care, because they're brown, just like me.

This top passes extreme terrestrial jump tests, and it also worked well for me in pretty intense ocean waves. For once, I was worrying about my bottoms while being totally unconcerned with my bikini top.

I bought this discontinued bikini style on clearance from an online seller. I've had good luck with Freya bras in the past, so I thought I might take a gamble on their swimsuits. I am not impressed. The sizing is all over the place - the band runs AT LEAST a size large (probably more once it gets wet and stretches out), whereas the cups run a full size small, and have no structure to speak of (so will probably deform like crazy in water). The matching briefs also run about a size large.

The bra hooks in the back with one of those little plastic snappy doodads, It seems like it would come unhooked quite easily, and leaves no room for adjustment as the band stretches.

The pattern is admittedly eye-catching, though it was not particularly flattering on me. This all being said, it was still a decent bargain for the $35 I paid for the set, so I might try sewing in the band to tighten it, and wear it anyway.

Got this set from ebay (with the boy short bottoms) in the Apple Sour colorway. Tried on before measuring, but has not been worn yet.

I could not tell from the images or reviews I found online, so I'll say it here: this is an unpadded plunge, but it is lined and the material is fairly thick, so it's modest despite having so much white in the pattern.

The fit is pretty forgiving due to the stretchy cup, but the band does run pretty tight for Freya (still not super tight, as I could not fit into a tight 28 band-- but it is a bit tight for me. I ... think it will likely loosen in the water, though, and I can't find this top in 30G, my alternate Freya size).

A very cute set-- if you like the look of the set, you will probably like it on! Order true to normal Freya sizing. I'm a big fan of bright green, and I love cheerful prints for swim suits-- I feel gorgeous in this, and like I can actually swim (I have no use for decorative swimsuits that will fall off if you actually like to swim), while looking pretty damn good.

The shorts fit like I had hoped, which means no major concerns about the bikini line being as freshly trimmed as possible. I like the look of short shorts better for swimsuits, as my hips are not very wide and I like to emphasize the width a bit.

I haven't swam in it yet, so I can't review it fully yet, but so far, so good!
