    Didn't fit

Usually I find that 36G in Fantasie side support fits me best, but this 38G Elsie was the closest size in stock so I ordered it. The cups fully enclose my breast tissue, and are even are a little too big for me, too tall and too deep, there is too much room and empty space at the bottom of the cup, so my breasts don't feel as supported. The wires seem to be the same width as the 36G Frances, just longer.

I have narrow roots and even, projected, soft, saggy breasts which are close-set with centre fullness, and once in a while a Fantasie side support will fit me. This bra might be a good candidate for me in the next size down.
The color is a delicate pink floral.

The colour of this bra is actually beautiful blossom pink, but the original photo from my smartphone is too gray, so I added a filter to show a better view.

The cups of this bra are very projected. They cannot spread out on my knee. To take measurements I need to gently bend the cups down and make a pair of marks with my pen. Unlike other bras, this bra give very few pressure to my conical, even and projected boobs. It just let them to be naturally pointy. I think I need some time to get used to this shape. The fabric of the cup top is a ... little bit baggy, but still ok for me.

My most dislikes of this bra are the straps. They are rather seperated and not elastic enough. I had a struggle to adjust them properly so they won't slide down from my shoulders any more.

The band is super strechy. I would say it's a 31 band rather than a 30 band. It fits my 75 cm ribcage very comfortably.

The gore bottom width is 4.5 cm, the cup top depth is 22.2 cm.

And anyway, belleandblues thank you for the recommendation.

Edit on 20.04.22: Finally I still decided to return it back. I felt maybe my roots are too tall for this bra or the cup are a little bit too separated for me. I have very slightly quad boobs around the center gore.

Edit on 20.04.23: I am still not sure if I will keep it or not. I adjusted the band to the shortest and found there are no quad boobs anymore (and also determined that I have extremely high set boobs.)

      Very pretty embroidery!

Thank you for the comment, but I still want to return it back. It is not perfect, I can see very slightly quad boobs because the cup top is not stretchy.

Hey, this looks pretty good! I agree with you about the center gore issue, I also have that sometimes with Fantasie styles in particular because for some reason they do not sit right. I feel that the wires are just a little bit too firm. If it isn't cheap enough to keep (because it's so pretty), I'd agree about sending it back too.

A lot of Fantasie bras are that shape, and I've found that Elsie/Camilla/Frances is the LEAST pointy of all of the models I've tried. I have a bunch more coming in the mail but at least now you know how this brand fits you. There are others that I've reviewed that are super pointy and you'll want to stay away from them entirely.

Btw one thing I've found that makes these Fantasie unlined bras look really nice and smooth is if you are able to buy a foam cup insert and put them inside. I just got a pack of these things from Amazon and they work amazingly inside unlined bras for giving a smooth shape: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071YDJ7T7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hey, you know what, I finally find the cause of the wires that didn't lay in my IMF. Actually my boobs are extremely high on my chest. Because of the ill fitted bras with too big bands at my teenage, I never have had the right feel of the really supportive cups and always close the bra too low on my chest. For this Fantasie bra, I need to adjust the strap to the shortest to make the wire sits at the right place, then my quad boobs are generally eliminated.

It's not an expensive bra, I got it from the sale of Poinsettia online shop with about 30 EUR.

    • smjwzhan makes sense! I also noticed in this style that I have to wear it a bit higher up than normal to get the wires to sit right.

Btw I just received my Susanna. It is similar but the shape is rounder than Elsie. It also has textured straps so they should stay in place better. I recommend looking into it to see if it might work for you!

Thank you. But I just decided to try a 30FF Cleo Marcie and Comexim Victoria 2HC/3HC in 70H. Last night I adjusted the straps of my 32E Marcie and 70HH Victoria 2HC again, then I tried them.

Just as you said, I found the 32 band of my Cleo Marcie is too loose and the cups are also too small. My fatty tissues under the armpits were squeezed to lumps and the band rode slightly up. The cups were very full filled but they got slided down again after some body movements.

The cups of 70HH Victoria 2HC are however a little bit too big for me. As I pulled the wires into my IMF, there was empty fabric at the cup top.

    • 1

smjwzhan I hope the 30FF Marcie works out for you. I liked the way the previous Marcie looked on you so crossing my fingers that this is the perfect size!

When we wear bras that are too big in the band and too small in the cup, it's normal for cradle to be sitting too low and the back to be sitting too high. I had the same problem for a long time and didn't realize until more recently that my natural breast position is really high up when I'm wearing a properly fitted bra. I think that as we are wearing bras in the correct wire position and in larger cup sizes, it's natural to run into the problem of sides coming up too high or straps being too wide set. You almost never get that if you wear a small cup too low on your body!

I emailed Joanna to ask about modifications to the 3HC I tried for future orders since I found it to be too shallow and she suggested increased depth and reduced cup height. Could you order 65HH or 70H and ask for increased depth and reduced cup height? As long as you find the size with the right wire size, it should be easier to adjust depth and height from there. Personally, all of the Comexims that fit me in wire size and depth are too tall for me, I am going to order everything from now on in reduced cup height because of the issue I described above.

    Fits

This is my favorite bra. I like the shape and fit, and the band feels just a bit softer than my Panache bras, while still providing a firm, snug fit in the band. The side support brings me front and center, but without being too matronly from the side. I like the slightly rounded shape that is uplifted at the base. The straps don't fall off or dig in. It's a pretty bra. The color can become dingy easily due to the light tone, but it's SO pretty! I wouldn't wear dark colors over it, because dark colored pills will form.

At the end of the day, all my bras become too tight, so of course that happens with this one as well.

    Didn't fit

Elsie is a sister cut of Frances and Camilla, and I have now tried this cut in 3 sizes: 30D, 30DD, and 30E. I found that 30D in general is far too small for me in the cups, 30DD seems just right but the cups can be a bit narrow, and 30E is definitely too big.

As I have reviewed this style in 30D, please see that review for details on this style. This review is to discuss the fit of 30E and how it compares to the other sizes.

I noticed that the band on this size is somehow bigger than the 30D and 30DD bands, ... so this one obviously didn't fit me. I have found some inconsistencies in the Fantasie 30 bands I've tried so far, so I am not sure if this is intentional or not. This definitely fits like a 32 band, so I would be careful if you are a snug 30 or really a 28 that can get away with 30 bands sometimes.

Another interesting point about this bra is that the cup width actually measures the same as some of my other 30DDs in this cut, but this is only true when comparing the top of the wires measured straight across. The wires are definitely longer in this style and have a deeper curve, so even though this upper width measurement is the same, the wire fits totally differently. Since these Side Support styles seem to fit differently against the breast, I couldn't fill the cup at the bottom of the wire and at the outside side of the cup. This is actually pretty rare for me, and I usually don't have problems with wires that have the same measurements as this 30E.

The increased cup depth and height were definitely a problem for me, so as both of these dimensions increased, there was no way I could fill out the upper cup either. These side support styles tend to fit and look best if you fill out the cup very snugly, so I would stick with a size that is slightly small over a size that is obviously too large. While the fabric is lightweight and doesn't show wrinkles under clothing, this style really doesn't give the best lift and shape unless the cups fit snugly.

So, this particular cut is suitable for even to slightly FOT shapes, larger 30 bands, and you should stick with your normal cup size, rounding down if you are between cup sizes.

I'm still waiting for my order, according to your measurements, I think a 30F will be a good fit for me because the cups are deep enough and I also need a larger 30 band.

smjwzhan Yes, I hope this works out for you! It’s such a beautiful bra and I am happy that it is a “normal” fit, I think the shape will be fine for most shapes. Let me know how it turns out! If I find a 30DD on Amazon I will probably go ahead and get it, but I’m still waiting for it to pop up!

smjwzhan I have this bra in 30E! It doesn't fit now that I've gained some volume, but before my size changed it was one of my favorites! I hope it fits you!

    Didn't fit

Elsie was my first Fantasie bra purchase back when I was a 28DD. I didn't have much interest in the Fantasie brand at that point, but I saw this from one of my favorite closeout sellers and just had to buy the bra to try. Aesthetically, Elsie is the prettiest bra I own. The Apple Blossom print just screams Anne of Green Gables, and it is feminine and girly without being frilly. It has all the appeal of a Japanese bra without the heavily padded cups and lumpy trims. Sadly, the fit of the cups didn't fit me when I was a 28DD, ... and it doesn't fit me now as a 28E.

First, the 30 bands from Fantasie run really large. The band unstretched on this style measures a full 3" longer than my best fitting 28E bras, and almost 4" longer than my Comexim 28 bands. Thus, the band is definitely problematic for me in this style. I would recommend sizing down up to two band sizes if possible if you are looking for a truly snug band. Thankfully, the very shallow leotard back construction means this shouldn't be a difficult band to alter if necessary. The band on this specific style is made from single layer powermesh with the same print as the cups, so the beautiful print extends all around the bra. The mesh feels nice and firm, so if the band weren't so long, it would feel comfortable and secure.

I believe this bra is very close to the same cut as the Nadine, which I own in 30DD. I have tried another Fantasie Side Support cut that seems to fit differently (Estelle is more projected in the cup). The bottom cup is made from single layer lightweight printed fabric, while the upper cup is made from mesh embroidered with satiny blossoms. The upper edge of the upper cup has a strip of elastic sewn in for stability, but the elastic does not provide much stretch, nor does it pucker. The cradle is the same printed satiny fabric lined with rigid tricot. The fabrics are extremely lightweight and comfortable in this particular style. If this fit, it would be such a comfortable bra, particularly for summer!

In terms of cup fit, these side support style are tricky on me. My tissue is too spread out to really suit this cup construction, which requires a more projected and narrow breast shape. The wires of this 30D are too small for me and definitely cut into breast tissue on both sides. If the band is pulled snug, I fill the cups entirely, but I suffer from the orange-in-a-glass effect and clearly need the cups to be bigger. I should have gotten this in a 30DD, but alas it is not available right now, and even then there would continue to be some fit issues as these bras are not really designed for my shape.

I've found that these Fantasie side support styles need to be worn differently from my standard bras. I had to consciously pull the bra up a bit higher on the body to have the wires sit in a position where the cup shape was more natural, otherwise wearing the band/wires at my normal position effectively forced my breast tissue only into the portion of the cup that is not restricted by the side sling, leaving the bottom and sides completely empty. However, this makes the outer portion of the cup sit right under the armpit, which is also not ideal for comfort.

Despite all these issues, I want to give this another shot i a different size, and I don't want to let this 30D out of my collection. I've picked up a 30E just on a whim since I feel that the 30DD cups are still a bit small and restrictive on me. It is heartachingly beautiful and appeals to a part of my psyche that swoons over apple blossoms, baby pink, and delicate scalloped trim.
