After 50+ bras, I have given up.

I have given up, nothing fits me. Every bra I try sits on the edge of my breast. The only thing I found that worked was going up a cup size, however then the cup was too big. For wired bras it really feels like I can only have a wire that fits, or a cup that fits, there I no between. I even have an image that lists wire width by brand, and I went pretty far into the wide section. Only to find those don't fit.

So I have given up, and I'm going back to wireless. I might have found a wireless Bali that will work for me, which is great because I prefer lined bras so I don't headlight 24/7. With my anatomy it's kind of mandatory to have a lined bra. So even if I found a unlined bra that fit, I'd still have to find a lined one after. I don't have the patients for that anymore, I want my life back. I want to be able to go outside and not be worried about if my bra will hurt me... or making it look like I have on a bra when I don't. It's been causing me severe anxiety, and all I want to do when I'm out is go back home.

So, uh, yep... bye wired.

(Also I did a lot of bras before signing up here, at least another 25+ bras, that's why I only have 21 here.)

  • If it is any consolation, I have been wearing wirefree bras a lot lately. Several years ago, I finally figured out my bra size using the methods of ABTF in Reddit -- the underwires tack, and cups large enough. Good. I am a few cup sizes larger now, but have not been focused so much on getting that underwire to tack. I think the wirefree in general is a more forgiving structure for one's shape if it is not the typical model's shape. :D

  • I'm very thankful that you've told me that, it really helps me to know that underwire isn't the end all answer. Everyone one a bra that fits pushes testing sizes with underwires constantly. Which is all said and good, I understand why they say that. It's because wireless bras can easier give the illusion of fitting.

Sadly this does NOT help when you NEED wireless for one reason or another. Such as underwires causing issues, such as myself. They'd stay in place for about 15 minutes, cause pain, then slide down. It's because my side breast tissue was being smashed and forcing the wires down. Which in turn caused back problems. I also need a lined cup, which most wireless have.
Wireless bras also have other issues when compared to wired. The cups tend to run big, so even if you fit a 34DD (example) in wired. You might fit a 34C/D in a wireless.

So far I'm going with Bali Women's Comfort Revolution Wireless Bra, Full-Coverage Wirefree Bra DF3463 in a 36C. However I'm noticing my breast are pushing the cups down, which in turn is pulling on the straps. Might mean my band is too loose. I measure out at 34.5 underbust, so 34 is too tight and 36 is too loose. If it's really a problem I'll just get a extender for my hooks. I pray that will work. We'll see what happens. I also had to drop a cup sizes in a wireless.

Do you have any wireless bras you've found you really like? I'd love to give them a try.
