Rebecca turns sporty

I have this half-crazy idea of buying the Fantasie Rebecca (2024) and turn it into a sports bra. I really like that it has spacer foam, surely that should provide some sort of breathability? I've read somewhere that Coolmax and Supplex are the most common fabrics used for sports bras, and I have seen websites where you can buy Supplex. "Why don't you just buy a sports bra?", well... I've tried pretty much everything on the market and nothing works for me. Too wide wires, too low coverage, the list goes on. I do not expect the Rebecca to cover all of my breast tissue, but what the hell, I don't expect ANY bra to cover all of my breast tissue on the get-go (very full tissue all up to my collarbones). From my understanding, the Rebecca has fairly narrow wires? Anyone who supports this idea? :) I would buy Supplex to cover the breast tissue that's not contained from the beginning. My only issue is that the bra only has two hooks in the back in my size range... I'm seriously considering buying one in my size, and one way above my size just to get the three hooks. That way I could rip off the band from the bigger bra, alter it shorter, and slap it onto the smaller one. What do you think?

Edit: I just checked Bravissimo and apparently there's no jump where the bra suddenly has 3 hooks. Boohoo for me.

  • If the bra has a leotard back, you can take the 3-hook closure from wherever and sew it on (you can often get them from craft/sewing shops, or just get one from an old bra). Be aware that depending on the shape of the bra, you may end up taking a fair bit off the band doing this, so consider this when picking a size.

  • Thanks for the heads-up :) I'll keep it in mind, but I think I'll be fine because the smallest band size is a 30 and I normally need a 28. It may vary though, so I'll remember that.
