Further alterations, and a quick and easy band shortening tutorial

In the spirit of economy and adventure, I decided to see what I could do with my 65L - Ewa Michalak » S Iwette . I've actually managed to come out with a reasonably polished result, which makes me pretty happy. Inspired by Leedlebra , I thought that I'd put a helper strap on the bra, and it was about the right depth and height when I folded down the top panel of the cup, so I folded that down and trimmed off some of the excess. It turns out that the decorated part of the original strap is actually made out of the same stuff as the cups, it's slightly padded and very soft! So, I took some of the excess cup to make the extra little straps.

I found 65JJ - Kris Line » Brillant Unpadded Bra (5305) mysteriously at the back of a drawer, and it's the co-star of this bra alteration story. It turns out that both bras had exactly the same kind of closure on them, so I just sewed one on behind the other. It's kind of a DIY Rixie Clip alteration. While it's not the most beautiful way of shortening a band, it is very easy, especially as I still don't have my sewing machine *sigh* http://imgur.com/a/Rcztf Tutorial is here! I have pictures and everything.

I've included some pictures of the bra post alterations. http://imgur.com/a/lPxxm If anything, now it looks like the way the Polish girls tend to wear the half cup style of bras. It's quite open on the top, and because of that, it's a bit jiggly, but it looks very nice under a dress. Because of my 'short boob' problems, I hardly ever get cleavage in anything, so it's nice to have a bra which gives me this 'cakes on a plate' look. It's pretty comfy to wear around, especially because it's actually sufficiently deep for me to not fight the bra, but it's certainly not suitable for being too active (I wouldn't want to run for the bus in it for instance). Before anyone asks, I don't have the foggiest clue what the dress I'm wearing is in terms of make/model. It's something in size 8 my mum picked up from Target (Australia) several years ago and it's grown with me.

Pinging Vee , uptight , EllenMcisaac - I know you were all curious about what I'd end up doing with this.

  • Cakes on plate much??? :)))
It looks awesome under clothes!! Can't believe no seams are showing. Could you post a profile under clothes?

  • I love it! It really does look awesome under that dress! :)

Btw I think something happened to the first picture on the tuturial link, I'm not sure if it's just me, but it's like only a small portion of it loaded and the rest of it didn't!
