Underwire causing nerve pain? (hope I'm not double posting)

I'm so bummed, I found my correct size thru ABraThatFits subreddit, and then found a couple of bras that I really like. But suddenly last week I started having this weird burning pain in my right side, pretty much where the underwire hits. I switched to my old stretched out wireless bra for about 4 days and it gradually went away, today I wore one of my new bras again and by the afternoon the pain was back. I had breast reconstruction on that side with a lat flap and I'm pretty sure that the problem I'm having has something to do with that, my lat muscle was swung around to the front side under my arm to make a sling for an implant. I'm not sure what to do from here, if I need to just give up on underwires and go back to wireless? I'm a 34G/36E so I haven't had a lot of luck looking for wireless in my size, unless it's nursing bras. Maybe there are bras I can try with shorter wires? Maybe I should try taking the wire out of the bras I have? I hate to ruin a pretty new (and expensive) bra but I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions? For reference the styles I have are @curvy couture fantasia #1131 and 36G - Wacoal ยป Undercover Perfection Contour Spacer Foam Bra (8 .

  • Ah man, that sucks :( What wired bras do you have? Some brands use harder wires than others, so maybe others can advise you on brands with less bothersome wires to try. I also see posts where users swap bothersome wires out and replace them with better ones.

  • in addition to softer wires brands, perhaps sister-sizing one band size up will help?
