Issue resolved
I realized how difficult it is to tell based on my pictures and due to the fact that the band didn't fit.
Original problem
I'm fairly new to this site and wanted to here people's opinions on the fit of this bra. I've had it for over 4 years now, so the band has stretched out and no longer fits well, even with it on the tightest hook. I also lost some weight over those years, so that could attribute to the problem as well.
For all of these photos, minus the second frontal view, I safety pinned the band to mimick what my actual band size should be. I tried taking pictures without the pins, but everything looked fairly normal as the loose band wasn't holding anything in.
Anyway, more than anything I want to figure out the best bra style for my shape and cup size.
Thank you!

helpfulHmm, well, first of all, this bra looks like it's sitting pretty low on your torso, which might affect my assessment, but the quadding you're showing doesn't look too bad (presuming you've swoop and scooped!). With your ribcage measurements, I'd say to maybe try a 28E (going a cup size up to 32D and then sister sizing down-30DD-28E). Maybe take a look at these sources before you decide on trying that size though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Jk55ep4XUQ https://bustyresources.fandom.com/wiki/How-to_determine_bra_size
In terms of what kinds of bras to try specifically...hard to say when looking at someone in a padded bra. Maybe other people can give you more specific advice, but as you've got separate and (as you indicate) full on top boobs, I think you might have luck with Panache or Cleo by Panache unlined bras with stretch lace (other companies make bras like this too, but I haven't tried them out so I don't know too much about them).

helpfulWelcome to the sub-32 band club! You are already thinking along those lines with shortening the strap. Now the goal is to buy a 28 inch band bra with narrow, projected cups in a cup size large than a D. The style of cup that you have there - molded pancakes - are not going to serve your size and shape well. Padded balcony bras will not be the best option for you as they are wide and shallow which you are not.
I agree that the bra as a whole is too low. The wire is not in your IMF. Unfortunately, because this bra is too small for you, the wire will not ever sit where it needs to. I am sure that you are going to be amazed with your profile and fit once you are in a 28 band with larger cups. There are a few ladies here who are further along the journey into fitting bras for a similar size and shape as you.

helpfulLooking at your measurements I'd say maybe start at 28F as your vertical is a little bigger than mine and I find 30 bands a bit too loose. Did you try A Bra That Fits calculator?

Make sure you're ordering from a place that accepts returns. G'luck!

helpfulWith a loose ribcage of nearly 75 cm and probably wanting to be able to breath in a bra, I suggest you start with 30er bands and only go down to 28 in bras with large bands. A band should only sit firm, not as tight as possible.
Does the padding of this bra has the same thickness overall? If yes, it looks like you have close set, centre full and vertically even to full on top breasts. That's the second reason why this bra cuts into your inner upper breast tissue, it's not only to small, the cup shape is not made for your breast shape. Unfortunately, the majority of bras is not made for this breast shape, so you will definitely have problems finding a well-fitting bra (guess how I know). Halfcups usually work better than balconies because they are typically more open on top. But be aware that quite a lot of them won't have enough inner volume for you (Freya HC are difficult due to that but worth a try). If your breast tissue is firm enough, some plunges might also work (here am thinking of the Cleo Everly, but that one comes really large and stretchy in the band so even the 28 might be to wide for you). Cleo is generally worth a try, this brand is more inner upper volume friendly than other brands, even the balconies. I haven't tried the current unpadded ones, but the padded Harper was not bad (for you maybe too projected).Updated on June 14, 2020 Flag this
Gotcha. Thank you!
