Bra fitting help » Long wires, wide cups
Panache » Envy Balconnet Bra (7285) » 30H 30:11
Issue resolved
Shopping around for Polish brands, still using this one a few times a week until I find something better.
Original problem
This bra fits like a glove, except for the wire length. The cups come up too wide on my sides, which doesn't even bother me except that the wires dig in when I twist. I tried bending the wires out away from my body, but they're still just as long and "there". The high side panels (wings?) also took some getting used to. I'm not so much looking for a fix for this bra as a suggestion of one just like it - with shorter wires.

helpfulUnfortunately it seems like UK bras in this size range all have wide wires! Curvy Kate bras are shorter and should have shorter wires, but if you want narrow you'll have to go Polish.
You could also try replacing the wires with shorter wires, or bending them closer together. This will change the fit of the bra though.

helpfulI'm new at this and a lot bigger size than you, so take this with a grain of salt. BUT, I just had this same problem with the Envy. When it was sitting properly in the IMF, it was jabbing me mercilessly in the armpits. So today I exchanged it for an Elomi Morgan. The wires are the same width, but the Morgans's are almost 2 inches shorter according to the measurements here (for my size). So they don't reach all the way up to my pits to poke them.
Edit: Bummer! It looks like this model starts at a size 32 band.
Alternatively, I would recommend maybe looking at the database by size>measurements>wire length. There is a range of over 4 inches in the wire lengths at 30H!Updated on May 19, 2019 Flag this

helpfulI wear 30FF in UK sizes, So I am close to your size. I am also petite so I love lower wings! I can't wear Panache, Curvy Kate or anything BUT Polish bras.
Ewa Michalak are very expensive, but it was the first brand that I got a perfect fit in. I still love her bras. I wear 65G in EM.
Then I discovered Gorsenia. It's a much less expensive brand but the bras fit me perfectly. Narrow wires. Deep and projected cups. Perfect solid tack. I have more of them in my collection than any other brand. I wear their softcups in 65G.
Next, I explored Krisline. Wires are sometimes a little wider (I often bend them) but their embroidery is exquisite and I love them. I get a soft tack in softcup balconies and a solid tack in soft half cups. Again, 65G.
My latest match has been with Kinga. Designs are youthful and fresh. Their cups are a little less deep and my tack is soft but they are comfortable for all day wear. I have tried softcups and semi-softs and they all fit perfectly. Again, 65G.
For Polish bras, I work with MagdaBras4you . She offers wonderful customer service and is very knowledgeable. It avoids all extraneous fees and hassles that can be associated with ordering from overseas.

Wow, this is super helpful! I have some Fantasie bras in 30FF from before my last baby, so I'll have to figure out what size to get.

helpfulWhat a lovely color! One of my first almost-fit bras was a Panache Marcie in a similar color!
Your size is not easy to find, tho, is it?! Ewa Michalak will have the most narrow wires, its just nerve-wracking ordering a new brand from Poland. Plus takes a long time to get here. But she just posted some new bras on sale! Cleos might also be more narrow than Envy, I dont remember - i had an envy, in black, but for whatever reason, the underwires dug in to me very badly. I think it was too shallow at the bottom of the cup. this was back when I was a 32 J.

Yeah, when I finally found my real size I was extra discouraged because I was a first time nursing mom. I had to buy Fantasie bras and have them converted at Nordstrom - no small feat with a newborn to handle and returning to work!
I don't know anything about Ewa Michalak bras. Is there an "intro to Polish bras" article out there I can read up on? Thanks for the suggestions!

I feel like there was somewhere? maybe on that blog by a bunch of women who had augmentation? let me see . . .
Ok, took me a while, but found the post I was thinking of: https://anenhancedexperience.wordpress.com/2015/09/06/facing-your-fears-a-guide-to-ordering-direct-through-ewa-michalak-comexim/
You could also try used - this is probably your size in Ewa's unlined bras, but usually you need to go up a size in lined ones https://www.bratabase.com/listings/diycr/

helpfulWay too big cup for you. You are definitely not a H cup even. Maybe go for an FF or G.

Thank you for the info about Curvy Kate, I just ordered one so we'll see how that turns out. Sounds like I might have to order one of the Polish bras.
