Issue resolved
Wearing the band on the tightest hook helped a bit, as did tightening the straps. But you guys were right: this bra just doesn't fit me. I am shipping it to my sister and moving on with my life!
Original problem
This bra looks fine under clothing and is pretty comfortable, but it gaps on the top when I move my shoulders around. Any advice?

The band is too big and the cups are too shallow. I think both of these problems are what's causing the gaps. Does it help a little bit if you wear this on the tightest hooks?
If the band was tight enough the bra would suddenly be way too small for you because the cups are a lot more shallow than your breast tissue. You probably want a cup depth of around 10" and a band length that stretches to around 30". Hopefully someone in your size range has some good suggestions for you.

The band is WAY too big on you, it stretches four inches too big. I'm not sure if this comes in a 28 or not, but I agree with the other poster that this is likely too shallow anyways.

I think you are right, Dvrgrl812 ! I tried the band on the tightest hooks and also tightened the straps. While the bra fits better, it certainly doesn't fix all the problems. Still gaps when I move my shoulders. I will be sending the bra to my sister (who tried to steal it once already).

I bet firm 30s will work for you, this just happens to be more like a 34 than a 32 even!

It's either too large or too tall-cupped for you. Try 30DD and see how it goes. If you still get gapping in the 30DD it means it's just a shape mis-match. Other b.tempt'd styles might be better to try.

Thanks for the feedback, Saskia_C ! I think that the bra is both too large and too tall-cupped. I may try it in a 30DD if I get the chance, but I'm calling it on this one and shipping it to my sister. B.tempt'd is generally my favorite line; I think this one was just a bit of a misfire and the wrong size.

helpfulThe way the straps are twisting makes me think you could tighten them - have you tried it? Sometimes that can help the cups gape less, but it may cause the band to ride up.

You're right, annabellynn! I was able to tighten the straps. However, that didn't really fix the gapping on the top. I am giving up on this bra and sending it to my sister. :)

Can you double check your lying down breast perimeter? It's supposed to be taken with your breast tissue sort of "balanced" on top of your body, not slumping to one side. It should be less than your "horizontal perimeter." I think this bra is a dead loss fit-wise--too wide and too open at the top-- so I'd just start over after verifying your measurements.

Very good suggestion, wendybien! I am giving up on the bra and sending it to my sister (she tried to steal it and says it fits her better), but I will also try to remeasure myself whenever I next have a little free time. Will especially make sure to check on lying down breast perimeter.
