I didn't know anything about this bra before I bought it, as there was almost no information about it on the web. You can see why the colorway is called "Jester Red," can't you? I fell in love with both the color and the style of this bra and decided to take a chance on it. Happily, it fits me very well and is very comfortable.
Being a "Wonderbra" I knew it probably had push up padding in it but was unsure of the amount. I was relieved to discover that the push up pads are not extreme in this one. It gives me ...a little extra lift and makes me look like I've got a little more on top than I really do, but it's not over-the-top at all. That's probably because I'm so shallow to start with that there isn't a huge amount to "push up," so YMMV. The pads are incorporated into the molded cup and aren't super thick. The bra doesn't have that heavily padded feel that some push up bras do.
The three vertical front seams and lace on the front of the cup are very smooth and flat so they aren't visible under clothing. The gore is one of the narrowest I've ever tried (3/4"). Wires seem somewhat wide, but not overly so.
The lace on the top and bottom of the band is soft, flexible, and stretchy. It's very comfortable, but doesn't really add to the support of the band (which is very supportive by itself). I haven't had a chance to wear this bra for more than a few minutes at a time, so I don't know if the lace at the bottom will try to roll up on me. I have a flared ribcage in the front (around the gore area), so I generally avoid longline bras for this reason. This is more of a wannabe longline, but I'm concerned I might still have the same problem of a rolling bottom edge. I won't loose any support if it does, and the lace is so soft that I might not even notice until I take off my shirt. The measurements that I put in Bratabase for the gore height and wing height do not include the lace. The gore height with the lace is 3.75" and the wing height with the lace is 4.5."
The straps are wide, firm, and very comfortable. They are only halfway adjustable and the back part unclips so that you can cross the straps in the back for a racerback configuration (see detail picture). I haven't had any trouble so far with the straps coming unhooked while putting the bra on or taking it off. This is my first bra with 4 hooks in the back, but since half of that width in the center back is from the lace, it doesn't feel particularly unwieldily. I have to say that the back of this bra is just as pretty as the front, which is very unusual.
This bra is just luscious in both feel and appearance. I feel very vampy in it, lol! Unsurprisingly, it was a hit with my husband. Read more 437 more words
edit after 1 month: added an interior lining through the lower lace so now the band supports properly and I do indeed fill out both cups at my larger time of the month, but the cups are so shallow on the bottom that during the day they gradually push downward until the underwire is an inch below my IMF and the straps begin digging painfully into my armpits. This is definitely a show bra, not a wear all day bra.
I got this bra for my bigger days, so I'll amend this when I hit those. In the meantime, the design is gorgeous and the fit is ...surprisingly good for my smaller days too, but there is definitely room to grow. There is a little gaping with my smaller right breast right now, but none on the left. There's also padding built in to the molded cups, which I don't love but I can deal with. My measurements ignore the 1.5" wide lace border on the bottom as it is too soft and stretchy to take part in the fit. There are also three rows of four hooks on the back, making it feel a bit like a pseudo long-line, but there's no power net or other form of support in the main body of the wings (just a single thin layer of stretch satin), so all those hooks don't feel like they're providing any additional support and that's a shame. Also surprising for a 30 band with such flimsy wings, it only stretches to 29". My main problem is that the wires are a little too U shaped for me, which appears to be the reason I have had my very first experience of wires digging into my sternum with this. My is that painful. The issue can be temporarily resolved by pushing them through the casing to the top of the outer edge because there is a half inch of wiggle room to shift the wires, but other than stitching them into place in that position I will also try to bend the wires out in the center to relieve that pressure.
Very soft and pretty bra. Also, the colour is really nice, the peach pink with black lace makes the bra looks qute and sexy at the same time. The lace makes the bra looks like half-longline and actually the band has 4x3 set of hooks and eyes. Ive got this in size smaller than usual as ive read that it runs bigger and its true, but also I should take smaller band, as with 70 I can very easily close on the second set and still could do the tightest. The bra has small 'push up' sponges build in. Unfortunately the wires are too wide coz otherwise it would be great option for EM CH/CHPs. The bra gives nice cleavage but I have some empty fabric on the sides and its really shame as the bra would look amazing with narrower wires https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> . Also, I dont like the straps as theyre too thin and half adjustable - but they can be worn crossed.
