    Didn't fit

Soft and plush, but VERY padded and VERY shaped cups. Feels like much too much. Feels like it forces me to be more East-West than I’d like, and like my boobs are made into a pointy shape pointing away from each other. Everything is soft, but the bra does come a little too high and cut into my underarms, though this might be remedied if the cups were closer together. Band feels loose, but does not ride up.

    Butterscotch colorway

Yes this is a common problem when you sister size up. 36 bands are made for someone whose chest wall is assumed to be a lot wider than yours, so on them thesecups would be facing forwards but here it's not working so well.
I have not looked at your bras but to find a non-sister-size option in this style you may want to look at Wacoal How Perfect or the nonwire version of Natori Bliss (foam molded cups). Very similar shape but scaled for smaller ribcages when bought in the correct size.

    • wendybien oh, I had no idea! I had scaled up to 36D because I knew it would fit me in cup volume, and I could alter the band down if I needed to. I didn’t expect the shape/fit to be so bad on me, nor did I have any idea this was a product of sister sizing. Small bands and big cups are both hard to find, so I thought I could cut myself a break via sister sizing.

Yes unfortunately it is a typical problem when you go far enough up the band size scale! If you happen to have a wide-set shape sometimes it doesn't matter too much, but with the current trend for nonwired bras to be very plungey with almost triangular cups and these deep wide V necklines, those of us who are center-full or close-set will have trouble making sister sizing work. If you're trying designs that don't have that deep V it will usually be a bit easier.
