Whoa. The zipper. I found myself contorting my face into a myriad of positions while desperately trying to raise the zipper 1/2". Center full ladies, just move on. I spent more time fastening this one item than I spent on my entire morning routine. I brushed my teeth and hair, smeared on lip gloss, dressed, and affixed my hat in less time than required to fasten this one bra. And, when Bratabase demanded proof that this size and model existed in reality, I almost abandoned the bra because I didn't want to zip it AGAIN for photos. Deep breath.

The support is great. I love the fuschia color. The ... fabric is soft. All my tissue is covered and compressed. There are two hooks attached to the zipper casing that will prevent escapees. The band is lined in a soft, plush elastic. The straps do not adjust, but fit my somewhat petite frame well. And, despite the lengthy zipping process, I would adopt this bra if not for one glaring detraction: the cup height causes discomfort under my arm. Ouch.

Synopsis: Less center full breasts will more quickly zip into this bra. If you have center full breasts, add comedy to your life. You may require two more hands and you may guffaw....and snort as I did. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />

It's unfortunate that it took so long to zip up. I have a Panache sport that is so hard to hook up in the back that I was looking at zip up ones. I'm center-full and a similar size as you so I think I'll give this one a pass-I'm almost too lazy to do up 3 hooks, I can't imagine trying to spend 5+ minutes zipping myself up!

    • 2

I had to tuck the girls under my arms so I could see the blasted zipper, and they kept returning to "front and center." Your idea to "pass" is sanity preserving ;-)

An Amazon review mentioned zipping first and pulling it overhead, but that leaves me with sore breasts.

    • 1

Love4Pollinators I can't even imagine zipping first and then pulling it over my head. The band would either have to be way too big or I'd get stuck. I like my Panache Sport-it works pretty well the clasp is just super weird.

    • Is your Panache wired or unwired? I tried the unwired and couldn't breathe in a 30". Need to try a 32" next :-)

    • 2

I have the underwired version. I hope to take photos and get a review up tomorrow. Getting up at 4 in the morning means it's too dark to take photos before work so I've been sitting on this one for a week or so. I'd say it fits relatively true to size.

Bratabase didn't believe the size because the manufacturer says it doesn't exist :P

I had major fit issues with this bra and I could only surmise that I was sold a defective bra online.

I bought this Shock Absorber for only $25 & $13 shipping (I'm in Canada and shipping is expensive!) off of the website YourBraStore.com, which is supposed to be "bra clearinghouse" of sorts for boutiques, not sure if I agree with that theory if I'm going to be pawned defective merchandise. I guess that price was too good to be true. I plan to try out this same size at Running Stores (when they open again), as I really had my hopes up for getting an ... Ultimate Run bra.

Normally this bra would run $65 ish retail. I learned after I tried this bra out that it's sold at some running stores in my area, but this try-on has turned me off of the brand. I ordered a cheaper brand (Syrokan) off amazon to tide me over until I can find something.

The fit issues, where should I begin? First of all, I knew the bands were really tight. This one was TIGHT. I sister-sized up to a 32 band, it felt like a 26 band. See pictures of the back (holy back fat, I know...I honestly wasn't aware of my fat stores until I tried to squish into this tight of a band).

Okay, the band was too tight, maybe next time will try a 34, but the CUPS?!? Way, way, way too loose (see pics). Basically, I am not supported at all, and this is accentuated by the too-tight band. This is basically natural breast shape: I would do better running in my BM Perla.

So, there's no way this was a 32F cup. How would I even describe this size, like 26KK? Is that even a size?...something was way off here. Too bad b/c I liked the colour, and I liked how the back fastens with strap over the shoulder area plus band. Will try this brand again when stores open up.

I'm so sorry this didn't work out for you! I own two Ultimate Run bras and I always choose them over my Panache Sport for running. I have both mine in 30F and my newer one still fits like a 24 band lmfao. My older one finally stretched out after like two or three years (but it's still wearable on the tightest hook). Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but did you adjust the shoulder straps to be the proper length? The wrinkling at the front kind of looks like the straps aren't properly tensioned at first glance, but it could be another issue entirely, such as the bra not being the proper proportion for you. I also don't get a great shape when I wear mine, but it really controls my breast movement when I'm running. It's not compressive so much as it encapsulates on every side and restricts movement that way. I bought my first UR at SFYS in Toronto, then I got my second from lingerieoutletstore.co.uk, where they usually have good sales and shipping to Canada is cheap and fast.

    • sherrach898 , eagle eye - yes, didn't adjust the shoulder straps. I've read of people having to try odd sizes (like not a legit sister). If this is the way they run, I would have to try 34D (so not a sister size at all) or even 34C. The good news with that is: those are common matrix sizes. Not to give t.m.i. (but isn't that what bratabase is for, /s...), but there just wasn't enough boob support.

I LOVE the way the back is. B/c I have an upper body injury r.n., it's good for me to have the racerback - like a different shape. I mean, I would like to try this again, and nail down what would be my best size in this bra.

    • I have no experience with this brand. Sorry it didn’t work out for you! Love the colour though

I returned this to the bra store, since this was much too tight for my ribs. That's why if you get a sports bra, go up a band size https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />

    QUALITY:
Excellent quality, I'm already a pretty big fan of Shock Absorber sports bras and nothing felt bad about this one. Sturdy elastic seams, elastic fabric, strong mesh, wide band.

    COMFORT:
This was much, much too tight to wear, so it was not very comfortable at all. If I unhooked the bottom set of hooks and only hooked the ones between the shoulders, it was wearable, but wasn't providing the desired comfort or support. It hurt my chest to wear on the loosest hooks and breathing felt restricted.

    DESIGN:
I already love the Active Multi's hook design and overall structure, but I got this one because it was pink. And it was a really nice pink color! Salmon pink/Berry pink is nice, and I really enjoyed the contrast between the light pink bra and dark pink seams.

This bra is great for my omega-shaped, center full, close-set breasts.

It pulls a bit too tightly across the top of the cup and 1/8" of my breast escapes out the top while jumping. I'll need to wear this a bit longer to determine whether or not I can tolerate the tightness across the top. Generally, my breasts/lymph nodes/tendon protest loudly after a few minutes when a cup pulls across the top near the strap/underarm.

However, the discomfort I often feel in the bottom of sports bras' cups is not present here. It feels like my breasts have enough space in the bottom. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />

It is likely I may need the 32FF, but this may work well enough for my needs during my two smaller weeks. One exercise session will reveal the answer https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />

Sadly, this bra didn't fit me. I tried it in three different cup sizes and I could tell by the difference from each size (not a lot of vertical increase from size to size) that this would not suit me even if I altered it as I would've been open to, had the vertical coverage been greater. My boobs are very high on chest and full on top and unfortunately the neckline wasn't nearly high enough to contain me. I would've needed a cup size that exceeded my standard-size waaaaay above and even so it might've not turned out successfully because then the seams on the sides of the "cups" would've been spread way too wide, making it less supportive. There's not enough vertical coverage in my size range. I decided against it. I would not recommend this bra if you are very full on top. It should work great for FOB's though.

My blog review is much more detailed.

This is Shock Absorber's newest bra model which is a high impact bra designed for all activities as opposed to a single activity, like the run bra. I think the red piping on the black bra looks very nice, and the interior of the bra feels nice to the skin as it's completely seamless. The headphone wire clip is a nice feature if you enjoy listening to music when you work out.

The reason I wanted to try this bra was because I was looking for a racer back bra. I think having the upper clip is a good idea so that you can more easily ... put on a bra without pulling it over your head. The reality is, it just doesn't work, at least not for me. My arms or not long enough to grasp the upper clips, and they're not strong enough in that contorted position to fasten them. The only way I was able to put on the bra was to close the upper clasp before putting it on, which kind of defeats the point of having upper clasp in the first place. I thought it would be possible to undo one or both the the hooks on the straps first, but they don't come out so easily.

Overall, I don't recommend this bra just because it's too difficult to put on.

Please see my review of the 32F in the black color way here: http://bra.pe/X0lQ/

This bra has the same problems I mentioned on the other review, mainly I had a problem with the straps not adjusting long enough. This one adjusts long enough but just barely. I’m not sure it would be comfortable during exercise since I ended up returning it. This colorway cut in a bit less at the top (compared to the black color), so no quad boob really. All the bras have very wonky fits, I only recommend ordering online if returns are available.

My shape: close set, center full, full on bottom, average/narrow width roots, tall shallow roots, soft tissue.

Another Shock Absorber bra, another wonky fit. On this size, the band feels okay, I can wear it on the second set of hooks. However, I do notice the elastic rolls up quite a bit (it even rolled a bit in the photos) and that can be uncomfortable doing exercise. The straps adjust long enough (but just barely!) and are on the loosest setting.

The cup fit is definitely better than the 32E and 34DD bras I tried. I’m inclined to say that after all these size try-ons, that this bra ... runs about a cup size too small and a band size too small in my my range. Disappointing to see that there isn’t much consistency and I can see how ordering online is quite a challenge.

The cup is still bordering on too small and there is some quad boob (hard to see in the photos) albeit much less than the cup size down.

This bra definitely doesn’t not pass the bounce test for running/jumping. There’s simply too much movement going on for me to be comfortable. I would say this is a more of a medium support. The fabric is stiffer and has little stretch so it’s supposed to compress your breasts to not move. Maybe smaller sizes might benefit from trying this bra on.

Very good fit and support, best sports bra I have tried! Also very comfortable. BUT: band size runs small. I am a 30 (65 cm) but had to take 32 (70 cm) in this one. Cup size is normal though.

The red colorway is very similar to the white colorway, which I reviewed here: 32F - Shock Absorber » Active Multi Sports (4490)

I think this one is a bit stretchier band-wise, since I've had it for about a year less and it's a teensy bit stretchier. Still, it's very very firm (almost uncomfortably so).

This is the only bra I can run in; it keeps things completely locked down. It is a standard compression-style sport bra, but because the band is so firm (almost uncomfortably so) and the compression is so strong, there is no bounce. (It also makes me look much, much flatter.) I can't wear this for long, and I wouldn't call it comfy, but it allows me to run which is something I simply did not have the ability to do before.

There are two sets of clasps in the back (with two hooks each), but I can only reach the lower one behind my back without help. But I usually just go with that one undone; it's secure enough with just the one fastened.

Edited review because I realized it was a 32F that I received not a 32FF as indicated by seller.
This is my second Shock Absorber and it is preloved. My first is a 30FF but the volume was too small and the band is really tight. I received this 32F, which is now a bit too loose in the band, but still very wearable. I like bands to fit around 29 inches, and this one goes to about 30.5" measured to the last set of lower hooks. I will be searching for this bra in 30G as I think the right band does provide better stabilization for jumping around. I normally wear 30F unlined and 30FF lined.

Short waisted, center full, close set, omega shaped, projected, shortish roots...

I've tried a few sports bras and encountered a fatal flaw: most bite into a tendon because they are too tall near the shoulder.

This is short enough to not bother the tendon in front of my shoulder, super supportive, and impressively bounce reducing. No seams chafe my skin. The materials are soft. The padded straps distribute the weight of my breasts comfortably.

However, the cup is shallow and collapses. Sigh. It is imperfect. But, it does what I need it to without biting anything and I can wear it comfortably for several hours. If I sized up into a larger size, ouch: my tendon suffers every time. I'm confident running in this bra would be uncomfortable because of the shallow cup. Kinect Sports and yoga, however, will cause no problems. No padding. Better for warmer weather than Panache Sport. And, with 100F+ temperatures for several months, I need a lightweight, supportive sports bra.

Panache Sport Non-wired bra is my first choice for winter. However, just thinking about wearing Panache Sport when temperatures are above 80 degrees F makes me nauseous. And, I've learned the racerback fastener pulls the top of the cups into a tendon. Sizing down reduces the tendon bite, but reduces the amount of time I can comfortably wear the bra. Now, I'm experiencing more comfort in non-racerback sports bras. N102 is not a racerback and provides an incredible amount of holding power with a few pieces of fabric. N109 is fuller coverage and a better selection for taller roots than N 102.

Lightweight, power lifter this Shock Absorber is. ... Wow! This 32F pulls to one side, because I need a bit more projection. And, quadding shows in both cups. If available one size larger (32G UK), I would have a very comfortable, supportive, summer exercise bra.

The band is delightfully supportive, the straps well-padded, and the fastener protection pad/gel excellent. Note: straps are perfect for petite and or high-set users. However, taller users will be terribly disappointed. Also, the apex is located lower in the cup than N109; making this a good option for short roots. NOTE: N102 runs one size smaller than N109.

Like several other Shock Absorber models, the seams are thoughtfully positioned and the fabric does not chafe.

These are excellent sports bras for hot, humid climates. And, the support is better than Panache Sport Non-wire.

The cups are too small for me.

I used it for my today's workout. For the warm-up - the craziest moves my fantasy gave me for about 15 min.
Then some Calisthenics exercises like push-ups with legs higher than arms, squats, crunches and many more.
After that - a gentle yoga session (mainly slopes and twists).

What I can say... It is not bad. I had to jump really madly to feel my boobs move. When I was beginning, part of my boobs placed themselves between the decolletage and my neck as two, rather flat rolls. During the workout, some tissue moved under my armpits. I can comfortably do exercises in this bra, but I would afraid to do this too often.

I got this bra because I was in need of a racer back bra and the Shock Absorber Ultimate Gym bra just did not work for me. I haven't actually used it yet but here are my first impressions (for the record I purchased the blue/yellow colourway).

I got this in a 32 instead of a 30 and I think that was a good choice as the band feels comfortably firm. It feels secure across the chest with the top closure hooked on the loosest hook and I didn't have any problems during the bounce test. What I like about this bra compared to ... the Shock Absorber Ultimate Gym bra is the upper closure. It sits a bit lower on the back, the the closure is a regular hook and eye closure with three columns so it's easier to reach and easier to do up.

Review will be updated once I have a chance to work out in it.

    Post workout review:
Just for context, I do martial arts and that usually involve a lot of quick twisting actions like when I'm punching. I feel that both the upper and lower hooks are too loose and needed to be set to the tightest setting in order to get the support I really need for the type of activity I do. I think next time I would try a 30FF.
