I tried this bra on in a boutique and fell in love with it. While not technically a perfect fit, it's close enough and so beautiful that I bought it. It's probably the highest quality bra I've ever owned. The materials and workmanship are just gorgeous. The construction looks and feels substantial and solid. I have no concerns about durability, although I'll still be washing it by hand.
The cup material is silky, but not overly shiny. It has beautiful soft lace around the back band, under the cups, and along the straps. The seams are smooth, nothing itchy here. The color is called "silky tan," but to me ...it looks like more of a pinkish nude (blush?). I love the way I look in it.
The 32E in this style fit better than the 34D, and I have very few complaints. The gore tacks, the band sits level and feels snug but not overly tight. There's very little (if any) quadding on my larger side. The molded cups mitigate the size difference between my breasts - it doesn't look obvious at all. There's a very small gap on my smaller side in certain positions, like leaning over. After wearing it for a day, I think the straps may be a bit too far apart for my shoulders - I have to keep them pretty tight to avoid slipping. If I'm standing/walking, it's pretty comfortable. If I'm sitting down for a period of time, however, the wire starts to rub a bit under my arm, but only on my smaller side. All four of the new bras I've been wearing lately seem to have this issue, so it's not unique to this style. Maybe I need shorter wires? I don't regret buying this one, but it's kind of annoying how a bra can seem perfect in the store and turn out to be not so upon wearing. I have no godly idea why I spent so much money on this bra when it was "on sale." But maybe I should show it more love. Let's go through the pros and cons...
PRO: It fits very well in the band and upper half of the cup. CON: There is some wrinkling at the bottom sides of the cups because the wires are a bit wide and very soft, even softer than Freya bras.
PRO: My partner finds it really super sexy. CON: Despite all the sexy black lace and the cutesy cutout, I find the full coverage-ness of it to be decidedly unsexy.
PRO: The stretchy ...cup gives a lovely "natural" shape, by which I mean it falls in between the Cleo beach ball look and the unlined Freya shoot-your-eye-out look. CON: That same stretchy cup makes for a lot of jiggle and bounce.
Beautiful padded seamless bra in a very rich burgundy red. It works pretty well as an T-shirt option although the lace overlay on cups and straps may show trough thinner fabrics. Due to this fluffy trim the straps are only halfway adjustable.
The center gore is cut much lower than on the Prima Donna Madison Padded Bra (bigger Sizes) (0262121) and sister cuts creating more of a plunging shape. Being rather petite it is still a lot of bra on me but it adjusts very smoothly with my body and therefore is truly comfortable. The upper cup is fairly closed and doesn't allow for ample upper fullness, which isn't a problem for me but maybe for someone more FoT.
I'm very pleased with the quality as always with this brand and I especially love the nicely cushioned wires, something I've been missing on many popular UK brands. If someone knows less pricy options with this feature I'm happy to learn about them.
I have three Prima Donna Madison Plunges. You're right about the comfort and quality. I must've tried on about 150 bras by now. In the case of this brand, you really are getting what you're paying for. The best I would hope for is a lower level of comfort and quality that is still acceptable in exchange for lower prices. And, of course, looking for bargains on Bratabase, /r/braswap, eBay, etc.

I’ve had this bra for years and at one point it went to live with my sister, only to come back my way. I don’t have the exact model number or name since they’ve been cut out long ago. What I love, the straps are very comfortable and lay flat in the back where they connect to the backband. There are little daisies along the straps. The cups are moulded and give a very nice natural rounded shape under clothing. The fabric is smooth with tiny little printed dots on it. What I don’t like. The cups are too shallow for my very projected breast. I do get ...some quad boob along the top because of my very round shape. The sidewings are short, so I get some boobage escaping. The band also doesn’t sit against my ribs and floats at the gore. If the cups were less shallow I don’t think I’d have an issue. This bra came with a halter strap attachment. I’m clearly too short, or high-boobed, for this to actually fit the way it was intended. Overall this is a fantastic bra if you have a more natural breasts shape. The quality is really good. Beautiful and super comfortable semi sheer bra with four part cups (including side support panels) made of double layered sheer printed mesh. The upper 1'' of the cups is trimmed with stretch geometrical lace and lined with elastic band at the outer end. The straps are fully adjustable and partially sheer aswell. I specially like the very flat worked seams which work pretty well with fitted clothes, if the fabric has some weight to it.
The shape on my FoB Breasts is definitely rounder than than with other unpadded offerings from Prima Donna Twist. But the cups are on the closed side, even if more forgiving as in the 65F - Prima Donna Twist » Bang Bang Underwired Bra (0141511) due to the stretchy upper part, and will not work for everyone.
I tried this Prima Donna Twist, because it’s supposed to have narrower cups than regular Prima Donna and better fit more petite body shapes. I did not find that to be true — the cups were quite wide and the overall construction was just… big. The cups fit ok, but the wings and cups are quite tall.
Prima Donna touts its narrower strap placement, even on balconies, and I did find that to be true! (This is usually a huge problem for me.)
My favorite bra is 75E - Prima Donna » Madison Balcony Bra (0162123). I had a gift certificate from HerRoom, so I thought I'd splurge a bit and buy another bra from their line—not too splurgy, though, since I went straight for their clearance bras. Although I fit a larger cup size in other brands, I figured E was just my size in Prima Donna, so I ordered the Caramba. Got it yesterday, it totally doesn't fit. I am not sure if it's because it's a full-cup as opposed to a balcony style, or if Prima Donna Twist is slightly different than regular Prima Donna bras. ...The band fit fine, although I was a bit weirded out by a one-hook band style (haven't been in one of those since my early teens). The cups cut in at the top, there was quadding, the gore didn't sit correctly, and I had extra boob out over by my armpit. I am trying to decide if I should exchange or return it, and how many cup sizes I need to go up if I do exchange it (there's an F and an H available, but I think the F would still be too small and the H might be too big). All the joys of a comexim but now with some immediate depth. Same super soft ultra fine knit lining on pieced foam. Sort of a 'Cleo Kayla Lite' fit with more space than gorsenia (excepting for Caren/Simena/Madera which fits extremely full everwhere at the cost of being cut true to size instead of typical gorsenia +1 cup sizing). ...Nostaligia's strip of eyelash elastic is stiffer than the cup mesh it lines by a lot and quads on me depending on how weird my chest feels like being on any given day. The band is a little loose on the tightest hook personally, but believe this bra runs half to full size small in the band unlike anything else I've encountered in any Prima Donna to date. Those 2 piddling hooks we're given, are sturdy in a fine jeweler's sort of way, smooth, tough and discreet- while they look tiny and dubious the hook & eye set are anything but; they're a nice change of pace from cheap rougher hook settings in other petite-fitted brands. The band has a proper wing to prevent the wires from over springing, or poking in wildly with every last movement (very specific thing I despise about recent season prima donna's). I've bought Nostalgia somewhere between 1-2 sizes small so it's fitting a little short & gives sideboob creepage around the wire, but can still wear without issues as shape is deep all the way across, the upper runs short and open on my idiot tall roots.
Due to having excessive horizontal depth that's taller and heavier on the outer sides but still requires a small narrow gore, this one counts as a win- Nostalgia is a Demi so not well suited to very projected shapes, could be problematic for those who prefer a very narrow cup or side control to herd things forward. About me: full on bottom, soft tissue, wide & tall roots. Usually UK 30-32E ish. Prima Donna uses EU cup sizing, skipping DD, so the label on my bra says UK 32F but it is really a standard UK 32E.
This bra fits me amazingly well, no compromises. It has stretch lace all over, but on the outer part of the diagonal seam there is a thin non-stretchy mesh lining. This provides side support to bring everything forward and a round, lifted shape. The stretchy mesh on the inner part of the cup accomodates my tall roots without cutting in and I think would fit to a variety ...of fullnesses. I am pleasantly surprised at the depth at the bottom of the cup. Works great with my immediate projection and I get no dreaded underwire gap at the bottom.
As this is a longline bra, the way bratabase measures gore height fabric-to-fabric can be deceiving. Gore height measured from the bottom of the underwires is 2.5 inches, consistent with being a plunge bra.
Overal the fabric is super comfy, I get a lifted and rounded look, fits great and I think the nature of construction would suit many breast shapes. Round up in the band if between sizes as the longline style already provides extra stability. It's a splurge but I will definitely repurchase this in the future. Read more 120 more words
I find the cup of this bra to run a little large. Band is true to size though. I would try wearing this when during the times of the month when my boobs are a little bigger and see if it fills up the cup better. I usually go for bras that have a lower gore with a plunge cups (I'm FOB) so I think this being a full cup bra has extra space on top while my boobs are more full on the bottom.
My favorite bra! The only underwired bra that has ever actually fit me nicely and that I've felt comfortable wearing all day. I have trouble finding bras where the center is not too high and straps too far apart (almost all bra straps painfully dig into my armpits), this one has neither problem. On top of that the cups are wide enough and the look is stylish: sexy but not overtly so.
I love love love this bra. I was so lucky to get this bra in 75E from a breakout bras bundle. Really well designed and supportive. Band runs tight. My size was UK 34E at the time, the size tag incorrectly translates 75E as UK 34E when it should actually be 34DD so it was actually a cup too small. I love the round shape it gives to my bottom-full breasts and soft tissue. It's great for wide roots and projected shape, and didn't cut into my tall roots.
Nowadays after weight loss I wear UK 30E-F, but will definitely buy more prima donna in the future when I want to splurge. Sometimes I still wear it, it looks wrinkly and the band rides up obviously but the support is still there and I love the look of it.
I really, really love this bra. The stretch lace and the design is just soooooo pretty. The construction of the bra brings the breasts forward (though my breasts already orient forward). Depending on my cycle, it can produce a quad-boob effect of my right breast since a slightly tight elastic is stitched along the top of the stretch lace. The side of the wires are a tad high but I can deal, especially since the wire width is almost perfect for my breasts. The band is a bit stretchy already, so I wear it on the middle hook. Not the most supportive bra in the world, but that's not what it was designed to be. It's meant to be very pretty, make your breasts look good, and make you feel special.
My very best-fitting bra, although it gives SO much lift and roundness that I often prefer a bra with a lower, more natural shape for day-to-day wear. This is my special bra, when I need extra shaping, although it is comfortable too.
Cut, shape and fit are comparable to the Prima Donna Twist A La Folie Underwired Bra (0141121). With this bra you get a classic three part cup with side support pannels and elastic trimming on the upper part which gives a centered natural shape. The cups may feel a tad more closed op top as in the A La Folie. Quality as always with Prima Donna is great and makes this bra a reliable basic for my FoB chest.
This Caffé Latte colorway works as a nude for me and I do wear it with white and light coloured blouses in the summer. Thanks to the unusual semi sheer strap design I don't even mind showing an occasional glimps of them.
I loved the comfort and natural shape of my black A La Folie so I decided to rebuy it in this black and white colorway. The cups feel a tad looser on this one, but thanks to the stretch lace at the top border they still lay smooth.
With this cut you get the classic Prima Donna three part cup construction with side support pannels for a slightly lower price point. But consider that the cups are less deep (I need to size up one cup size), the material is not as soft and the band only has 1 hook in this size. Nevertheless this bra brings me more in than for example the Prima Donna Couture Underwired Bra (0162581).
Classy side support fullcup balcony bra in a simple and elegant design. The cups are made from firm uni fabric. The embroidered mesh on the upper part of the cups is finished with a small stripe of elastic lace. The straps are wide set and adjustable only in the back. It wears very comfortable and makes a lovely naturally rounded shape.
I like the smooth uplifted tear-drop like silhouette it creates and I feel very nicely supported. The placement of the straps allows wearing wide cut clothes without them cutting into my armpits, which makes it an comfortable and versatile bra. The little bows on the straps can be ...awkward wearing strappy tops, otherwise its a pretty everyday bra.
Unfortunately the gore doesn't always lay flat against my sternum. I don't really think the cups are too small and I've seen other users with similar fitting problems. It's just a very little gap and this bra still feels so good. It is my favourite at the moment despite this tiny flaw. When carefully scooping and swooping the bra fits just perfect.
