Pleasantly surprised that I found a balconet that did not give me horrendous about of side boobage. My chest is wide and tall, slightly shallow at the top and rather full toward the bottom and sides. As a result, I fully expected this bra not to be able to contain my tall, wide roots. However, it seems to do a decent job of it. (I bought from amazon on sale, so I was feeling adventurous.) Overall, I really like it. The material on the outside of the bra is very smooth, and the material on the band is quite comfortable. The straps, I notice, do not adjust all the way, and while that is fine for me, that might not work for some. I normally wear 32 bands, (I like the extra space to accommodate my back and shoulder muscles) so this band at first felt rather tight for what I am used to. But overall I think its a good fit.
Bought it final sale without trying it on (smart, I know). The cups seem pretty big for a 30D, and are way too big for me. Probably better for someone who is more full on top, and maybe in between 30D-DD.
This bra is made of the silkiest fabric ever! It's super soft and smooth, but it requires a tad more center fullness than I have... It would bee good for a FoB shape and can accommodate wide, shallow boobs. I really have zero center fullness though, so someone with even tissue would love this bra.
I love the Fiona. Parfait makes some of my favorite bras, but this one really hit all of my buttons. I love the high cup, the wide textured straps, the generously tall band, and the shaping. The foam cups give a smooth line without a push-up effect, and the quality feels impressively good. I have owned Fionas in nearly every color possible, and started buying them at a 28E about four years ago. I transitioned to a 30D, then went to a 30DD/30E after gaining some weight. I have even fullness (maybe slight bottom weight), widely spaced breasts with wide roots. This bra is sort of my "gold standard" for fit. Every time I try a new bra, I compare it to the way the Fiona fits. This isn't the most elegantly shaped bra, and it definitely doesn't diminish the appearance of breast tissue. I find that I tend to look slightly bigger than I am when I wear one with typical clothing. However, the overall effect is basically perfect. Highly recommended.
I'm not a huge fan of this bra. The straps do not shorten enough for my body, and I feel like I'm spilling out of it all the time. I am constantly readjusting just to get everything back in place. I have also found that it makes me look and feel bigger than I actually am up top.
UPDATE 12/2015: My boobs have grown a bit and now this bra is a much better fit. Even on my smaller days I fill the cup. There's still a little bit of room along the edge of the cup near the gore, I just don't have the center fullness this bra wants. On my bigger days it mostly goes away. Fiona is actually one of my best fitting bras right now.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: So I like my Fiona but we don't always get along. It needs a little more center and upper fullness than I have, but I can get away with it fine in most shirts and it makes ...my boobs look gigantic. On my bigger boobed days I pretty much fill it out (with good posture) on my bigger side and I get close on the other. I got it pretty cheap and have the matching thong (in a medium which is a bit big for me, but it was crazy cheap on ebay) so I've never felt inclined to get rid of it.
I think it runs a bit big in the cup and I mentioned above, seems suited to FoT shapes and those with center fullness. The other problem I have is that the straps fall off all the time if I'm even remotely active. They're quite wide set and only half adjustable. Even adjusted as short as they go they just kind of perch on my shoulders and they loosen themselves easily. I do love the pleated grosgrain ribbon on the straps and really wish they had worked into the panty design as well. Read more 158 more words
I don't have that much luck with Parfait by Affinitas because most of their styles top out at a G cup and I find the cups can run a little small. Needing a 30G in other brands, that means I'm often out of luck. I also have only found one b&m store so far where I could try them on without ordering blind online. And why so few measurements on Bratabase for their new models? I would order more if I had something to go by. But I digress.
I was impressed with the quality of Parfait By Affinitas Fiona Balconet Molded Padded Bra (2701) The ...material feels very smooth and nice and the cups substantial and high quality. They are quite thickly molded, but soft to the touch. The champagne color is beautiful and I even liked the lace although I'd prefer something that would show less through my clothes. I do wonder how well it would hand wash without getting wrinkly, but even the satiny feel to the material felt nice and not cheap. The straps were the only let down for me. The folded detail at the front is a pretty touch, but it makes them stretchy like an accordion and they are only partly adjustable, so I couldn't tighten them enough for my petite frame and high-set breasts. I kept wanting to pull the bra up.
The 30G in Fiona actually fit me surprisingly well. I found the band to be comfortable and the cups seemed to contain me well, minus of course that I needed the straps to be tightened more. I don't know if I'd get my usual quadboobing in Affinitas' 30G if I could tighten it the way it needed to be. All in all I was very tempted to buy this bra at around $30 on sale. Maybe a strap saver would have done the job. For now it's on the wish list only because I don't have any space for more padded bras and it just wasn't the right pick for summer. This was the first bra I purchased after determining that 30D is my true size. It's not a perfect fit for me but it's not terrible either...I wish it were perfect because this is such a gorgeous bra. The band is definitely too tight, even on the loosest hooks. I don't have quite enough inner fullness to fill the inside edge of the cups, so there's a little bit of gapping toward the middle, but it's really only noticeable under tight-fitting clothing. The wires fit well and it gives me a nice shape, despite the gapping.
This bra is absolutely gorgeous but I think meant for more close set boobs with inner/upper fullness. The cup has a strange little wrinkle right in the inner cups. The straps and everything make me think that it's actually meant for a larger framed person - the cups would sit right if I was able to pull the straps tight but they are set just a little too far apart.
