  1. Andorra Full Cup Bra (5675)

I THINK I MAY HAVE FOUND MY HOLY GRAIL BRA! Or I'm a lot closer, anyway. I have never experienced a fit so perfect.
I fill the cups completely with the top edge making a smooth line, and the center gore lies flat against my sternum. The band never rides up even though I can fit a whole fist under it.
Whether what I have spilling out the sides -- as you can see in the back shot -- is escaped breast tissue or just fat, is debatable. But the underwire's placement is comfortable. My only concern so far is they way ... my belly causes the lace on the bottom edges of the cups to curl up at the bottom (you can see this in the front shot). I am open to suggestions on what to do about that.
I must also note that is comfortable lying down, which is important to me because I like to recline in order to relax. In my current living situation, that usually means just lying in bed.
Thank you, Bratabase! The last time I tried to get measured at a store, the woman doing so pronounced me a "big B." I had to take off my shirt to prove to her that I was wearing (and pushing out the center gore on) a DD-cup and she practically fell over in shock. Who knows how long getting to this size/cut combination would have taken without this website.

Omg. What was she trying to throw you in??? A 40B?????? I'm so happy you're finally comfortable and supported. You should see the way people look at me when I say I'm a 28D/DD...and I'm flat chested!

    • 1

I have avoided trying the andora because of that lace/belly issue. I try to only buy bras with a smooth bottom edge

    • 2

I've had luck cutting the lace off the bottom of bra bands.

    • 1

LeProfessor "Throw you in", is the perfect phrase for it. She tried to toss drakefish chest in some (any) thing then collect her paycheck! This is why I give the side eye to so many "fitters."

    • 1

I'm glad you found a fit that works well for you! It's a great feeling after so many mis-fits! I also have the same problem with bottom lace because my ribcage flares out. I'm not sure there's an answer. I just try to ignore it.

    • 2

Me too EmmaOh , lol. Very few fitters actually know what they're doing. I also wanted to note that I am quite thin and lace that extends from the bottom of bras curls up from my tummy too! I agree with Brash5 , I just try to ignore it. It's not like it is visible under clothing.
And hey, at least your 'holy grail' is still in production! Mine has been discontinued a LONG time (Mimi Holliday 28D & Claudette). Lol

    • I'm short-waisted (although I'm also 5'10") and honestly thought the lace would bug me - but it doesn't. It does curl up sometimes but I don't notice at all. It's also my holy grail bra.

    Fits

To start: my breasts are pendulous, soft tissue, short but wide roots, a splayed but somewhat close together, with a downward facing apex.

I'm not entirely used to wearing a 36 band (formerly a 42), but I was shocked by how comfortable it is! The material is stretchy without misshaping, and the wires have good flex without being deformed by the stretch. They snap back nicely. The internal seams are nice and smooth and after about 10 mins I'm not even aware that I'm wearing a seamed bra. (I'm only aware at all because I'm really conscious of seams.) It's not 100% as smooth as a moulded cup looks ... through a shirt, but as long as the shirt isn't very thin or clingy, it should go pretty well. The stretchy lace at the top of the cup forgives all manner of sins, and since I'm fairly even (as far as I know), it's great.

One thing I love especially is that the lace is not scratchy at all, and the bow between the cups is sewn on in the right place that it never pokes at you. The lace edge at the bottom of the gore and along part of the bottom of the cups is soft too!

To top it all off, when I showed my fiancé he was... Um, impressed? It's a very sexy bra, while being comfortable, and with out me hanging out all over. I was so afraid to make the jump to properly sized bras because I had the idea that "big" bras were all ugly cone-boob monstrosities.

Panache really got it right with the Panache Envy Balconnet Bra (7285) .

    • My husband really liked my Envy, in black! Unfortunately the wires push down on me and end up very painful after about 6 hours. I hope this keeps working well for you!

    • dbmamaz I hope so too! I wore it for couple hours yesterday, and it was still great, but time will tell. Especially if/when things migrate.

    • I think the Envy is a really comfortable bra. Also - it really holds up after a lot of wears. Mine that I have had for about 6 months still looks brand new.

  3. Tango Ii Balconnet Bra (3251)

This is a beautiful bra that fits perfectly. The top of the cup rests at the top of my breasts without any bulging or give. The embroidery is feminine and a nice touch for an everyday bra. My only regret is the seam down the middle. I've tried to wear this bra under tee shirts, but it just isn't meant to be. Otherwise I'd wear it much more often than I do.

The wires were yoinked out of this before I got it but honestly? I'm digging it not digging me haha

Would probably hurt like h e c k if it had wires still

Straps are v narrow and I have them adjusted as big as they go

The length of the cami is nice and I'm not a pickypants abt boobie shape, so I'll wear this regularly

    PROS:
    Its a nice looking bra
The straps are the comfiest I've ever tried; they have a lovely cushioning.
Good side support, no east west shape.
CONS: The band was riding up and fabric weirdly wrinkling at the back despite being hard to fasten :/
Just didn't fit my splayed, full shape, left bust was bulging over cup
Did not feel lifted or supported, the cups feel quite flimsy actually, for a moulded bra,
Very empty and flat looking middle under t-shirt, like the Bermuda triangle between my boobs ;(
I think I need a bra that lifts and hugs more so that the gap between my splayed boobs is hidden.

Updated on Apr 04, 2016 Flag this

    • Ok, like a bermuda triangle between my boobs - you mean you WANT your boobs to look like one continuous 'bosom' instead of 2 separate breasts? I mean, breasts are supposed to have space between them? A little bit of cleavage is fine, but a properly fitted bra makes your breasts look like 2 separate mounds. I mean, a sports bra will make you look more like single mound, but its not usually considered a desirable look? and no cleavage there either.

    • LOL ...no... just don't want them to look flat or empty in the middle. I will have to take a pic in white shirt I guess... but I can see it :/
Two separate mounds are fine in some bras but this one just looks weird and empty to me

    • 2

I'm willing to bet it's a major shape mismatch, since this bra is one of the shallowest bras on the planet and its very uncommon to be shallow at a 36FF.

    • lcl0706 thank you. Yes, seems just totally wrong shape for me :/ maybe too narrow cups as well.. I kind of like them a bit shallow though, to hold them in more firmly, if that makes sense :/

To start: my breasts are pendulous, soft tissue, short but wide roots, a splayed but somewhat close together, with a downward facing apex.

This bra is SO PRETTY. I bought it because I needed a second bra that I could wear under my work uniform (a light blue t-shirt) but I didn't want another plain t-shirt bra. This definitely fits the bill! I have it in "baroque" which is a goldeny-tan floral and swirl on a lovely cream background. But it has all the other great pluses of a basic t-shirt bra, because it's moulded, nude (the pattern passes as nude really well), and will hide any accidental nipply ... moments that would be mortifying in front of customers.

For fit it's generally pretty good, although the underwires are a bit high under my arms for my preference, and I have a bit of gaping at the top of the cup which is almost unavoidable with how short my roots are. Thankfully the gore is a great width for me so there's no issue there. Overall I think the cups are meant for someone just a bit more shallow than me, but it's a good stand-in as I fill out my collection. (I really needed work bras, so I can rotate properly.)

The 36FF has pretty much immediate projection at the bottom, which is exactly what I needed, and the cups are wide enough on the 36 to capture all my "side-boob."

Update: I purchased this bra after not wearing bras for several years. During my bra-less years, some breast tissue had migrated to under my armpits. After a couple months of wearing this well-fitting bra, breast tissue migrated from under my armpits closer to the front and center of my chest. As a result, my breasts are now too close-set to wear this bra because it has a tall gore that painfully presses on breast tissue. I can only wear plunge bras now because there's basically zero separation between my breasts above the band.

Softest lace around the top of the cups I have ever felt. It makes me want to keep this bra even though it really does not fit me well in the strap area. Straps are too wide set for my very narrow shoulders. If you have normal width shoulders, do yourself a favor and try this one on if you like balconnet bras. I wish I could have a pillow or sheets made out of that soft lace. Maybe someday I'll try to have the straps altered. Very flattering color on pale and deeper skin tones.

The wire poke at the center gore and at the armpits. The fabric is scratchy. The top of the cup lays strange where the 'lacy ruffle' bit is, it is the bottom part of this that makes a funky quad-boob look.

  17. Idina Plunge Bra (6966)

When I first got this I like my 34G - Panache » Idina Balconnet Bra (6961) better but then that one got a little small in the cup and this one still fit. Now I seem to have gained a full cup size since I bought this and it's quadding at the top edge. Sorry, no new pics, the ones linked here are from when I first got this bra.

This one gives a more rounded shape with a little less projection than the Idina Balconnet. It's not a very plungey plunge and not the best for center full and FOT shapes. Still, it served me well as an everyday bra for some time.

I knew this bra came in a soft cup, but I had read reviews and had seen pictures of actual people wearing it. I was very satisfied how sexy it looked apart from how comfortable people said it was, and everyone would mention that it gave the most perfect round shape on the side view. I was sold. Once it arrived I put it on and instantly my breast were unhappy looking. The cup made my breast look cone-like, and it was a very pointy projection. I am trying to aim for round, as it pleases me more and they don't stand out more than they have too. As I still don't know my correct bra size it was more of a trial and error.

    • are you more full-on-bottom? Sometimes when bras that look round on some people look pointy on other people, its because the bra is too full-on-top. I've seen that on several bras that fit me well, people who are FOB say it looks pointy when it totally does not on me.

    • dbmamaz yes I think I'm more full on bottom. I think it's mostly the style of bra that doesn't work for me. Which it's a shame it looks beautiful.

    • The andorra gives me more of a 'natural' not quite pointy but not softball rounded shape, the envy is more rounded but not totally - I think it's because my boobs are even fullness, and tissue spread over so much of my upper torso. I like both because of the stretchy upper cup - it doesn't try to cut my boobs down the middle or make them try to escape the cups everywhere they can but especially at the top and over the sides.
My envy is starting to look like the wire on one side is going to pop through the fabric and jab me in the armpit, the channels are just big enough for the wires to move around in them and I'm afraid that stitching them smaller or shorter will make the problem worse with friction and everything...I might have to retire it. (sigh).

This bra is in what I think is my size, but does not remotely fit me in any way. It took a lot of work to get it to fasten, and when it did, I couldn't really breathe. It also appeared to be made for folks whose boobs are more top-heavy, which... I mean, I know that there are people who wear my size who have top-heavy boobs, but I don't feel like that's a common combination. Anyway, the bottoms of my boobs didn't have anywhere to go. (I think they may have been trying to squish out under the bottom of the bra, which would explain why it was so hard to fasten.) I won't be posting pictures of me in this bra because there's no way I'm putting that thing on again.
