  1. Envy Balconnet Bra (7285)

This is VERY similar in fabrication and construction to the Panache Jasmine (6951).
It has the same fine stretchy quad-boob-defying lace across the top of the cups, and the lower cup has 3 vertical panels for a great rounded shape. These lower panels are made (as far as I can tell) from an outer net woven with a houndstooth pattern fused to a smooth inner net, so they are strong but soft and just slightly sheer. The straps are a simple striped elastic, no frills, felted underneath for comfort, from front to back - fully adjustable.
Like the Jasmine I would say it's fairly supportive but the ... softness of the materials mean it's not completely bounce proof. Never the less it certainly gives excellent lift and round (not torpedo) projection for me. The wires aren't flared (wide) but not a true U-shape either (narrow) - they are perhaps a centimeter too wide on me if I were to nitpick but they are nice and close set at the gore, and like the Jasmine they lie flat on my ribcage like magnets on a fridge.
[This is where I took a point off for comfort, and it's not really the bra's fault. Is there a bra out there with 80 cm of wiring that is moulded perfectly to my body, can hoist the ladies aloft and yet feel like nothing at all??]
This is where the Jasmine and Envy differ for me. I have found that Jasmine digs into my sternum when I lean forward or reach across myself, and though the wires appear identical, I've not had this yet with the Envy. If anything the gore is a tiny bit taller BUT there is the improvement. That extra 6mm is a bit of empty wire casing that cushions the ends.
One other difference, and I'm not sure yet how this plays: Jasmine has a single length of elastic which runs along the full lower edge of the band. Envy is constructed with elastic along the bottom of the wings and yoke, running under the cups and then crossing on the gore to anchor against the opposite cup. I'd be interested to know the benefits of these differences in mechanics.
Oh - I did take a point off for quality too because while overall excellent it looks like the lace on the top panels is already pilled, and it came out the box like that.

    Update

The above review was for the black colour way.

I now have the nude version, same size, and have been wearing it for some time now. The black is slightly softer than the Jasmine but this colour is noticeably less supportive. I see no essential difference in shape but I don't think it has quite the lift, and I'm conscious of some wobble when I'm not wearing firmly fitting clothes. Also the straps lengthen throughout the day, to the point where they slip off my shoulders. Boo. That hasn't happened since I started wearing the right back size.
I imagine the firmness of the black is due to the colour itself (black dye often results in stiffer fabric) and I'm not giving up on Envy but I thought it worth mentioning.

    • "Is there a bra out there with 80 cm of wiring that is moulded perfectly to my body, can hoist the ladies aloft and yet feel like nothing at all??" Ha! Sounds like Heaven. But I believe the day will come. Lovely review, convinced me to at least give it a try.

Thanks for the comment about the gore! Jasmine would fit perfectly if not for the painful underwires in the center, which dig in to the top of my cleavage. I came here specifically to see if anyone had remarked on the gore. :)

    • Want to add that this bra didn't work for me because the entire cup is made of lace and it just didn't offer enough support for my heavy breasts as a result. Still haven't gotten to try the Jasmine.

I got this one in 34JJ which is my normal size but that was a mistake because just like all the other 34's I've tried lately from Panache, this one is also huge in the band. Even on the closest hooks this bra rides up significantly. Stretches to easily over 38 inches long. I have no idea what Panache is doing lately but they need to get their shit together and start making bands the size it says on the tag.

The cup design of this bra is weeeird. Panache says "If you love Tango, try this bra!" but they are not at all similar. Tango is tall like ... this one but it's pretty open at the top whereas this one is very closed. I have no idea who this bra would fit because the shape is super weird at the top. It's so hard to explain but you'd basically need your boob to be "C" shaped?

The gore is the standard width and height here aswell, personally much too high. It doesn't tack on me either.

The cups have decent projection, but that's about the only good thing about this bra tbh. The fabric feels itchy and irritating, it has a pretty lace along the bottom of the band but that irritates the skin. This bra also digs into my armpits. Definitely not keeping this.

    • Thanks for the review. This bra was once on my watchlist, I now cross it off. Itchy fabric and a 34 band that stretches to 38 inch?? That's offensive! They should check their sizing.
I also think the bra is too wide and tall for you. Doesn't look like the Tango. It looks more like old style Eliza (long discontinued) it reminds me of that as it was also wide and tall and not very open on top.

Stretchy lace, really soft, feels great overall. Everything I want a bra to feel to the touch. Super comfortable. Unfortunately it's much too big in the band. The gore on me doesn't tack fully but I can overlook it because it's comfortable, but I will have to return this. I might try 32K but it'll still probably be too big in the band.

I read that this one was based on a combination of Envy and Quinn, I've not tried either of those but both had been recommended to me so I figured I'd try this combo instead. It goes quite high up into the armpits, like Jasmine, but where I don't fill out Jasmine at all in the top of the cup, Imogen fits almost perfectly.

If you are around my size, I'd suggest sister size down at least once. The band in this 34 stretches easily to 40 inches. Big yikes.

    • Thanks for the review. I was curious about this style too, I have tried Envy in the past and I found it very uncomfortable. Jasmine is too open on top for me. Too bad about the band stretching so much?! Meh :(
I think you could size down in cups too, maybe try 32JJ?

VERY stretchy band, I think. My 32 panache have been feeling too tight, but I had to fasten on the tightest hook and I'm pretty sure it will stretch out enough to be loose.

I tried sizing up and it seems I did not grow as much as I thought I did. Slightly big on my bigger side, crazy big on my smaller side. I actually like the pattern, and I even like the shape on my bigger side. This bra has amazing uplift, but I think the peak of the cup is higher than most. I would really like that if it fit right - but I'm afraid a size down would be too small.

I do like the way it looks under a shirt! I might consider keeping it if the band wasnt so big.

That amount of stretch is crazy! It's not pre-owned, right?

I do love the pattern - this is my fave kind of floral for lingerie - anything with a white background and botantical illustration style flowers and I'm there. I own too many bras that don't fit with this kind of print actually....

    • It looks great on you btw. Sorry it didn't fit :(

    • Thanks, it seems quite new, tags and everything

    • How weird and frustrating.

    • It really is a lovely pattern. I love the way the upper part of the cups look! Adds a subtle soft touch, it's really nice. Do they make it in a 32K that you could try?

    • i might even try a 32JJ. the cups are slightly big on my big side, too. tho most of the extra cloth is on the very top, adn the outside upper corner?

    • 1

Beautiful!! The lift is impressive. I hope another size remedies your fit issues (crossing fingers and toes ;-) ).

    • 1

I hope you can get a better fitting size as well, it really is a lovely bra. Flowers in the mist is what the upper area reminds me of. So peaceful! :)

    • 3

If you pull the band tighter does the gapping go away? Sometimes that upper loose part is where the band is too loose on me.

I really want this bra as the fabrics are so soft but I hated the rocket ship shape! Maybe it was too small though. Might try it again in a bigger size.

    • 2

Interesting, you have a little gap at the upper edge by the armpit too . . . might be a flaw in the design. Not sure if I'll try pulling - its already packed to go back, but not taped, so maybe.

This Jasmine seems well-made with breathable, non-stretch mesh lower cups and band and stretch lace on the upper cups. There is a satin ribbon strip that runs across the top of the band and up the straps. The wires are quite firm and long.

Jasmine has the reputation for great projection with a somewhat pointy shape, and I'd say this 34JJ fits the bill. It's quite a feat for a bra to lift my bottom/outer heavy boobs up, and Jasmine manages better than most I've tried. It had a nicer, more "green" and less torpedo shape on me than the Hettie did, but as someone who has been ... hiding behind minimizers for years, the sheer projection was still juuuust a little too in-your-face for me. I suspect I might get a rounder and less projected shape if I went to a 36J, as the 34JJ was too tight in the band and too loose in the cup for me. I worry that a smaller cup would have narrower wires, though, and this one I already have to stretch them back a bit to avoid getting poked in the armpits. Something about the placement of Panache wires has consistently been a tough fit for me. I have to tread very carefully or else they will poke my armpits, and after a while of wearing them, they start to press too firmly on my ribcage in the front.

I bought this bra because it was on sale. I had read a lot of mixed reviews but decided to give it a try anyway because of the low price. Sadly, I was disappointed.
I ordered a cup size bigger after reading that it could run a bit small and considering my previous experience with the Panache Loretta Balcony (6681) This was my mistake because my normal J cup would have been better. There is excess fabric on the cups, both on the top and on the side.
The bra itself is pretty, the colour lovely. It may be a look a bit old fashioned because ... of the embroidery but I kind of like that. What I didn't like was how much it covers. You have to be careful with the shirts/dresses you pick to wear on top of this bra because the coverage is so full that it might exceed the shirt.
Another problem I had with this bra were the underwires. They are way to wide and long for me. They bother after some hours, especially in the centre, because they dig in my sternum.
The straps are also too long for me. I'd like to be able to adjust them more but I can't because the adjustment area is too short.
The quality of the bra is very good. You can see it's well made. However, the fabric might feel too synthetic at points.
As for the shape it gives, it's okay. My boobs look a bit too wide apart with this bra, but for others that wouldn't be a problem. As someone who prefers plunges, the separation between boobs is not really my cup of tea.
All in all, I think that even if I had this bra in the right cup size, it wouldn't be my type. It's not a bad bra at all, just not my style or the right structure for my boobs.

The fit is very similar to the Tango II, but it isn't as supportive. The lace at the top of the cups flips up and can be visible under clothing. The mesh on the back is a single layer and not particularly strong, although that does make it easier to wear in the summer.

I thougth that it is similar to Panache Tango but it isn't.
The top side is smaller one and therefore it push my boobs higher and give me a double boobs effekt. The bra itself is smaller as other Panache in this range eg. Tango.

But its a nice bra with paded straps.

    Fits

This is definitely my best-fitting bra, with good support all around. I've been wearing this style (in different sizes) for years and I'm glad they keep it in production. It's very nearly the only bra that fits me.

Things I like: sturdy straps lined with a soft almost fleecy lining.
Firm band that doesn't stretch out much.
Sturdy wires that keep their shape.

Things I don't like: the band flips up against my belly when I sit, but my underbust is the narrowest part of my torso so I can't really hold that against the bra.
It's fuller coverage than I'd like, but oh well.
The wires are wider than I'd like, but they don't poke.

I'm evenly full on top and bottom and this gets all my boob inside and keeps them where they're supposed to be.

I have heard great things about this bra for close set, narrow root breasts. I went by the cup dimensions similar to my 34J Marcie and unfortunately the bra was too big in both the cups and the band.

The wires were wider on me than I had hoped but looking at the measurements of other sizes, this will hopefully be remedied by going down in both the band and the cup.

It gave terrific lift from the bottom even for being too big and loose in the band. This gives me high hopes for a Jasmine that fits properly.

Many reviews have already said many good things about this bra:
stretch lace is fantastic, shape is great, sizing is on the mark. It's pretty and supportive enough for everyday wear. Overall I love it - it's the only bra I own that truly fits like a second skin - the cups are filled top to bottom but NO overflow, bulging or gaps and the gore and sides sit totally flat against my ribcage. The only downside is the wires are quite rigid and a teeny bit too long for me - I find they do poke both in front and at the sides when I lean or reach, and after wearing all day it's ready to come off.

I am almost satisfied with this bra! Pretty certain the 34K would fit much better in the cups; I've got a little spillage on the top of the cups and the sides. The color is a great match for my skin tone (although I do hate that Panache calls it "nude"). Band is comfortable, not too tight. The bottom part of the band does fold up on itself after a little while, but many bras do that because of my shape.
