  1. Tango Ii Plunge Bra (3256)

    Didn't fit

This bra is pretty and well made, but unfortunately creates a less than flattering shape. It doesn't lift at all, it's just kind of... there. It pushes my breasts down and slightly to the sides -- the same problem I had with the Panache Porcelain! You can see that bra and review here: http://www.bratabase.com/browse/panache/porcelain-molded-seamless-underwire-3376/28E/

Originally I tried the 28E in this, and the cups were slightly loose so I thought this one would be a perfect fit. However, this one is too tight in the cups. Also, the cups are too far apart, which contributes to the odd shape. They ... are 1.1" apart, whereas all my other bras in this size range are 0.7 - 0.9" apart. I did have a pucker at the center edges of the cups, as the 30D reviewer complained about (it's visible in my photos). This could be a symptom of the cups being too far apart as well.

I guess this brand isn't for me, which is odd, because I have a Cleo bra that I love, and that is made by Panache. If I could just combine the fit (sizing) of Panache with the gravity-defying lift of Fantasie and the style of Freya, I'd have the perfect bra. Oh well.

The cups of this bra are very low-cut. The seams are bound and non-irritating. The band, instead of being powernet or mesh like most bras, is a lightweight (almost sheer, but still firm) spandex with a shimmer to it... cool.

Color is "Chilli." Purchased from Figleaves, late Spring 2010.

    • It probably doesn't fit you that great because you're wearing it too low. Notice the baggy area in the bottom of the cup and the taught fabric at the top of the cup in the second picture? (Left Side shot) If this was lifted at the correct position on your ribcage it would most likely eliminate both of those problems. Perhaps try a larger band size instead. Too small of a band will cause it to sit low and make the bottom of the cup too loose with the top being too tight.

    • hlaleo, I have to politely disagree with you on this one. The wrinkling at the bottom of the cup on the left side is due to that side being about 1/4 cup size smaller than the other. You can see from the right side shot that the right cup fits and is at the correct spot (no wrinkling at the bottom). The only way to eliminate the wrinkling on the bottom left would be to wear the bra crooked -- I have this problem with almost every bra I own; in fact, you can see it in some of my other pictures on Bratabase.
The band was the correct size. It sat perfectly level all the way around (again, you can see this in both side shots), and the center gore sat flat against my breastbone. I still think the weird shape was due to the cups being just a hair too far apart, and also the fabric being a bit too soft for support.

    • 1

Not to be a pest, but it looks like both cups have wrinkling in the bottom, one definitely more than the other though. I do see now what you mean about it sitting crooked, I didn't notice that before. That can be remedied by tightening the strap for the smaller breast, or in the case of Scoliosis - the lower shoulder. As for the band, even if it's too small, it can sit level across the chest but the underwires will not be directly under the breast tissue and it causes the breasts to be pulled down. A good rule of thumb for where the center, or fullest, part of your bust should be is halfway between the top of your shoulder and crease of your elbow. If it's below that, the support is off. Just some helpful hints. If it's not needed, no worries =)

Thanks, I do appreciate it! :-) I'm a big advocate of proper bra fit. I am going to use your suggestions and play around with a couple of the bras I have, just to see if I can indeed get them to sit better.

Unless your boobs are exactly the same shape as the moulded cups with strong separation, this bra won't fit - there's no margin for error with this one. Long wires with closed cups and a very shallow, but tall gore make for a weird squashed (towards the chest cleavage) and serious quadboob. No amount of bending the wires can help that one. Also has the not troublesome, but aesthetically not great gap at the bottom which the Panache Porcelain range is infamously known for.

I love this bra, but it's just not into me. The design is brilliant, and it fits me like a glove. It is supportive, soft, comfortable, and durable. Unfortunately, the cups do nothing toward nicely shaping my super-soft, pliable tissue. Years ago, before I nursed 3 babies, Andorra would have been my perfect bra. Now these cups give me a pointed, rather than rounded, shaping, and while they do an excellent job at keeping my tissue in front/center, the cups don't have any "lift". I can really use some lift. If the Andorra bra cups, complete with side slings, had the angled and vertical center seaming shapes of Cleo Lucy, Andorra would be my dream-come-true bra. At least it doesn't cut into my tissue like the Tango II, so it's wearable under clothing; just not particularly flattering. I wear Andorra all the time under loose clothing, and I've even slept in it. It's that comfy.

I love the fabric and the support of this bra. I love the colors. I wish it was the best bra for me, ever, but I can't get it to fit me in any size I've tried. I can't seem to avoid "orange in a glass" with Tangos (even in a 30E!), which is a shame. If you have the breast shape for it, this is probably the best bra you'll ever wear. I can't figure out exacly what's wrong with it...something about the shape cuts into my tissue at the top of the cups, and leaves strange pointy creases at the tips of the cups. I would have thought my marshmallowey boobs could have conformed to the shape, but they just won't do it.

The only strapless bra I own that doesn't slip down, but I don't fill out the bottom of it. Makes my breasts look a little flat.

Wires don't poke me in the sternum at all which is nice.

This bra runs small in the cup, like the other Panache (and Cleo) bras I have. This fits a lot like my Jude Cleo -- I need a DD instead of a D (like with Freya) and even then I get slight quad boob because my breasts are "full on top." It's comfortable, though, and fits well enough. The band fits tightly enough on the loosest hooks (I have a 26" ribcage). It's not that pretty, but it will work well under sheer or light clothing (I bought it in white).

    Update:
Under t-shirts I could really see how poorly this bra fit -- the cups are way too small for me. Mesh Panache bras fit me fine in a 28DD, but I definitely need an E here. I plan on buying a beige bra to take the place of this bra.

Not a perfect fit, but quite comfortable. The band elastic feels soft, and the wires are covered in a similar soft fabric. The bra feels supportive, and the shape is a true balconette, cut low enough that you could wear a very low neckline with it. The band feels true to size for a 28 - my underbust is about 25", and it's not too loose on me but it could definitely fit a larger ribcage, depending on how tightly you wear your band.

I'm only moderately full on top, but the cups on the 28DD are slightly too shallow at the top for me, so I've ordered a 28E. (NB: fastening the band tighter has the effect of flattening the cups.) If you're particularly full on top, this bra might be a difficult one.

I think the only shape that would work with this bra is wide/super short roots shaped like a 'd' against your chest. So like really short roots but 3/5-6 in fullness.
It was super weird on me and not flattering under strapless clothing. Snug band though!

    • I was thinking about getting this bra. Do you think I should get it or do you think I should stay away from it?

    • 2

I think for you, I would pass.. It's very closed on top and very wide. Since I think we have a super similar shape then it would be equally weird for you as it was for me.

It feels like angels are supporting my boobs, but doesn't fit perfectly. It's a little pointy on me, and not tall enough. It also shows seams under all knit shirts! I may order a couple other sizes and see if any of those fit, but it might just be meant for a larger or rounder chest.

Very comfortable fabric, and the wires fit me very nicely (best I've tried so far). When the ladies are on their smaller portion of my cycle, I don't fully fill the top of the cup and there's some wrinkling/torpedo boob. However, I'm hoping that on my larger week things will fill out very nicely.

Edit: I've confirmed that this bra fits me best on the larger end of my cycle, and in my general soreness its comfort and bit of extra stretchiness in the cup was definitely appreciated.

I tried this bra on in my city in a store. Unfortunately, they didn't quite have my size. I thought this would work really well on me however, so I ordered online.
What drew me the most to this bra are two things:
    - the extra fabric at the bottom of the cups provide more coverage (I'm a "semi-modest" gal https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />) and more structure
    - the lace on the top part of the cups are soft and a little stretchy, which meant that both my breast could fit in it perfectly (flush on the smaller breast, cup a little stretched on the bigger one)

This gives me something halfway between a pointed shape and a round shape. A little pointier than I prefer, but not as severe as most Freya bras. The lace cups stretch nicely. The colour (called peacock I think, a teal colour) is beautiful and the lace is soft and high quality.
I would say this is a nice blend of function and design.

Ugh. This bra was horrible when I was smaller and now that I've grown a cup it's even worse. If I hadn't gotten it so cheap I would've sent it back but it would've cost me as much as I paid for it. The worst is the profile: flattened pancake boob with the point of the boob about an inch below my nipple! Ugh. It seems to be a Panache thing as my Sophie non under-wired soft cup does the same thing though it fits much better overall. I may give Panache another chance only because I've read that those that don't get along with the plunge do ... better with the balconette but I'm pretty much put off.

I will give Panache this: it is a quality bra and it is comfortable despite me having to pull the straps out to the max unlike Curvy Kate which is just an exercise in pain. However, the pancake boobs issue trumps all in horror.

The band runs a little tighter than Freya's but not enough to size up. I can't say anything for the longevity of this bra as it simply exists in my drawer as a reminder of what not to order again.

This bra is definitely sized too small. it rides up against my sternum, the band digs in in the back, and the cups dig in and cause a bit of dreaded quad-boob. It's unfortunate because the fabric is very soft and I imagine if it fit as labeled it would be extremely comfortable.

  15. Confetti Underwire (4071)

This is my first non-moulded cup in many years. Confetti is really pretty (mine's black), very nice embroidery. I'm finding it doesn't itch at all. Because of the detail on the cup it's not much good for fitted tops.

The underwire is quite wide and the bottom third of the cup is definitely shallow. I'm pretty sure the shallow-ness is what creates the lift. Viewing from above it creates a nice round shape.

With the cups being too wide and the straps pulling me flat on the sides, this isn't a great fit. Got a bit of apex wrinkling as well as quadding across the top. The 28E - Panache ยป Tango Ii Balconnet Bra (3251) is even wider and worse. Not a good fit at all for me. I think my center fullness is getting me here with the center quadding and the sides being flat. The underwires also want to flip out quite a bit more than most bras normally do.

The Panache Tango was the first bra I tried in my recent bra-fitting journey, so I really wanted to this fit. Sadly, after trying the Tango II in sizes 28DD and 30D and the Tango II Plunge in 28E, I've come to the conclusion that this line is not for me. All the Tango bras are shaped with immediate projection and a very closed off top, which doesn't suit my wide and shallower shape at all. Every single size and style I've tried end up giving me the orange in a glass effect, and the stiff mesh fabric means the empty part of the cup ... sticks out awkwardly and can't be disguised.

The Tango II 28DD is a better fit than the 30D I've tried, but the cups are far too small for me now. The reason I ordered this size instead of my current 28E is that it was cheaper on Amazon, and based on my experience with the 30D's cups being too big, I figured the 28E would be too deep. However, this size gives me the absolute worst orange in a glass effect, even worse than the Fantasie Elsie 30D that I have. The stiff, unforgiving fabric and the projected cut just doesn't work for me. Maybe I'll give 28E a try sometime, but for now I'll let go of my Tango dreams . . .
