The Panache Idina was one of the few "older" Panache bras I haven't tried yet. But I was always curious about it. It's discontinued now but can be found for low price on ebay, that's where I found mine. It's an interesting bra - but it did not work for me.

First, the Idina is not like other Panache balconettes. I speak of Jasmine / Envy / Floris cut, they have very deep projected cups. Idina has moderately deep cups. It is also not like Tango Full cup cut, as it's wires and gore are lower. I also find the wires to be one of the narrowest wire ... I found on a Panache bra. So it's narrow, moderately deep - sound good, but for my tall shape (+ full-on-top) it is not tall enough. There isn't enough coverage and therefore less support in the upper cup (which I also need at my size ). It kinda looks on me like a half cup. Or maybe it is just too small. As the Idina stops at a J-cup I cannot try a larger size and the band already is stretchy enough so I shouldn't size up to 34J. If I compare the cup height of Panache Idina to a bra that fits me well aka 30JJ - Bravissimo ยป Lacey Bra (LN486) then I notice that the Lacey cup fabric comes like 2 cm higher than Idina cup. So that explains why I cannot work for me.

I'd recommend it though if you need a shorter cup and all Panache bras have been too tall for you. The fabric is super nice and soft, the bottom cup is lined and the top half is a stretchy lace. The color is a pale beige that works well on pale skin types. It's overall well made and it felt supportive when I wore it... I just had issues with the top part and slight quadboob above the cups.

It looks nice. I wonder what the fit is like in my range. I find panache wires too hard in my range and the gore too tall.

Oh yea! A bra that fits me, I'm so happy. I love how this bra looks, it gives me great shape and lift. It looks fantastic under clothes, or just by itself. It holds my breast wonderfully and the wires do not poke or hurt. The band is snug but does not dig in. At the end of the day I am still comfortable, which is the best test of all. If I could change one thing, I would like the center gore to be just a touch lower, but otherwise I am perfectly happy. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

    Didn't fit

I first had this bra in a 30H, and I loved how snug the wires were on my IMF and didn't poke into my armpits, but when I gained a little weight (and a whole cup size because go figure), I discovered that the 30HH has underwires that are MUCH wider and taller than the 30H. I'm stuck in this awkward place where I need the wires on the 30H, but the cup depth of the 30HH. I unfortunately can't accurately measure them now because I've had them so long.

Only worn for a few minutes to try on and review. Bought for $27.41 online (free shipping & returns) from Amazon.com after a 20% discount for signing up for their fashion news email in February 2014.
Wires - The wires were a little wide, but not enough to be uncomfortable. Not too high under my arms.
Comfort - This bra seems to have lower-cut cups than others I've tried, and I like it a lot. The straps are wide-set enough to rub the front of my armpit, but it's not as bad as in other bras. It might have to do with the fabric ... the straps are made from (they are stretchy and don't have decorative edging). I think they may also be a tiny bit narrower than others I've tried, but only by about 1/16".
Fit - Band feels comfortably snug. The center gore does not tack. The top edge of the cups cuts in on both sides and there is a fold and wrinkling at the bottom. Both sides have a little bit of empty space at the top corners where my armpit/boob crease is.
Under clothing - I couldn't tell for sure what the shape would be like in a properly fitting size...it didn't look super round, but it wasn't pointy either. Maybe a tiny bit downward pointing. I'd like to try this one in a different size to tell for sure. Unfortunately, the horizontal seam is clearly visible under a clingy top.
Overall - Beautiful bra with thin, comfortable material and low-cut cups, but I think I may need to go up a cup size in this one.

ohh geeeez! this bra is so comfy!!! I cant even feel the wires on my body. The band is on the loose side as I can close very easily on the second set of hooks and probably on the third as well. The bra is really well made, but its just not my style. The top of cups digs into my boobs and the bra gives me a weird shape that doesnt work with me. Straps are just perfect (I wish that EM makes that narrow straps..), Overall Id love this bra if not the shape, but im planning now to try the plunge version when ill have a chance : )

OMG! I finally found "My Bra"!! I love this bra. I'm usually a full cup kind of girl, so I was amazed by how well this bra feels. I have very full breasts, but there is NO quadboob in this bra. Panache Idina Balconnet Bra, I love you!

  7. I persisted with this bra until I found the best fit in the style because I absolutely adore the look. It's got a slight retro feel to it, and it's stretchy, nude lace. Just lovely to look at and practical enough that it works for everyday wear under nearly all outfits.

I tried this on in store in my normal Panache/Cleo size (30G) and the top edge of the cup pinched right into my soft breast tissue - possibly the worst case of quad boob I've seen in years! In 1 cup size up, this is a pretty good fit.

The fit mirrors the fit of the Panache Tango (but ... without the ugly fern fabric). Unfortunately, even though the lace used in the Idina (search for Indina on Figleaves - they have it spelt differently) nice and stretchy, the edging trim along the top of the bra counteracts any stretch in the top half of the cup.

The profile is a little wide for me (same as Tango), but the underwires don't bother me at all (must be using the new, shorter Panache underwires) and theres only a tiny bit of unfilled fabric under my arms. It's a natural look, rounded but not too uplifted.

I've worn this under slightly see-through, stretchy knits tops and it's not quite as invisible as a moulded, nude bra. But it's probably the closest thing to a tshirt bra.

Go up a cup size with this one. I recommend it. Oh and the briefs are firm, secure and awesome (and follow the slightly retro look)!

  8. This band is a smidge too big -- I can put it on the middle hooks already. I could probably use a 34JJ but wasn't able to try one on. A 36HH almost fit, but cut across the top slightly. I like the shape it gives me, and it's quite comfortable.

Idina is the weirdest shaping contraption I've ever put on my body. I hesitate to call it a bra, because I'm not quite sure what this garment is supposed to do for you. It certainly doesn't function like a normal bra. I ordered my normal size of 30D, but got a band that is too loose to support, and cups that turn my breasts into lumpy mountains with weird side dents. It doesn't lift, shape, or support. I've truly never tried anything that fits quite like the Idina.

First, I can't quite figure out why the band is so unsupportive. The measurement is ... spot on for a 30D even considering that Panache bands run a bit bigger than I am used to. This is a full band style, and there's quite a wide bottom elastic, however I noticed that this elastic has a ton of give. The wings are made of double layer stretch mesh and stretch lace, with medium support. However, the band fits quite awkwardly on me.

Even more awkward is the fit of the cups. Seriously, these cups. I'm not sure I understand their construction at all. The bottom cup has a curved panel similar to the Andorra. This bottom panel is lined with powermesh and is very shallow, giving a pointy shape like Andorra or Tango II. However, the bottom cup is way too shallow for me, and I think it's totally unsuitable for FOB shapes. While in Tango and Andorra this construction pushes you up, in Idina, it becomes problematic. Idina's upper cup has a partial side sling that is very wide, taking up about 40% of the cup.

Now, I have rather firm breast tissue, but I am fuller on the outside than in the center. This panel plus the small bottom cups just squishes me into a weird form that I have no geometrical approximation to begin to describe. Idina is also very projected but with a closed off stretch lace upper cup with elastic binding, so it squishes all the tissue and I end up with overflow at the top as well although I have quite short roots. If the interior powermesh panels were removed, I believe that the overall cup volume would be fine for me, but based on the way the bra is constructed, the cups are way too small on me. I might have better luck fitting into 30DD, but the awkward shape of the cups and the loose band make it not worth my time.

In terms of styling, it's a very plain and simple bra, which might be what you're looking for. The fabric is a jacquard-like floral lace, the straps are plain and simple with no frills (also no texture, so they may slide), and there's no center gore decoration or bows to be found. The only bit of flash are the rose gold rings and sliders on the straps.

However, given the shape issues, I have no idea who would be best suited for this bra. I would not recommend this to anyone based on my experience.
