The band is very stretchy, and it's far too 'open' on top. My soft tissue jiggles about a bit and though the band itself is supportive and firm, if stretchy, my full-on-top soft breast tissue doesn't feel enclosed at all. I wish it did, as it's a beautiful bra. Very well finished, elegant and just the right amount of padding, not too much or too little. I don't think it's particularly suited to wearing under clothing as the lace detailing at the top of the cups is quite obvious under close-fitting tops/dresses etc. A low-cut, fairly open top/dress would work better.
