I bought it on a gamble, and alas it's too big on me: I can't quite fill it on top.
    I normally wear a 28E for reference.
    Pros:
    -Tight band
    -High quality materials
    -Very pretty
    Cons:
    -Half adjustable straps
-Very wide on my small frame

    Didn't fit

I bought this bra new and unworn, so the measurements I took were without any wear or "breaking in" of the fabric.

Despite having a 37" comfortably snug underbust measurement with compressability down to 35" at the extreme, I found that I could almost not clasp this bra. While it does stretch to 38", it takes a massive amount of force to do so. This fabric is quite firm!!

With a "normal" amount of tension (the amount of tension I tend to exert on my other bras in normal use and the tension it takes to measure them at their longest) this band only measures to 34".

I would ... advise most folks to size up in this band, or prepare to use an extender.

I found the wires much too narrow in this bra. It is not shaped like other Panache models at all. I ordered a Freya Lyla Balcony (4302) in 36GG at the same time, and it had wider wires than this Masquerade Persia even though Freya's wires are notoriously narrow in general.

The bra is quite pretty, though not really in my taste. I like it more in person than I did viewing it online and am glad I got to try it out. I feel like only two hooks on a bra in this size and with so much band firmness is sort of silly, as it means the wings taper down to be quite short. The lack of give in the band just meant ridiculous back indentations and bulging on a cushier lady like myself.

This is one of the first Panache bras in my size where the wire height under my arms was not uncomfortable. From the tip of the underwire to the band it is only about 5", and that felt really perfect for me as a high chested lady with only 5'1" of height. If that is you too and you have a narrower root, this could be a good bra to try.

I warn though that the cup seemed to come up a bit high, and the cup at the very top was a bit roomy. I think this bra was made for someone a bit more shallow than me - less projection and more height - as the lower part of the cups seemed to compress my breasts quite a bit.

  3. Rhea (6121)

This review is for the Masquerade Rhea size 30E in the colour Antique.

I tried this bra in 28F, 30E, 30DD and 28E. Of the bunch I think this 30E is the best overall fit.

    Bra description:

(copied from my original review of the 28F version) A luxurious-looking bra out of matt satin and intricate detailed lace in a beautiful but difficult to describe colour. None of the images I've seen online does it justice. It's a kind of delicate greyish pinkish sandish slightly-darker-than-nude hue -- a light rose or mauve taupe comes to mind. Anyway, even though it's definitely not nude, it's an excellent and definitely more romantic alternative for ... a neutral-coloured bra, which is exactly what I was looking for. The centre gore is adorned with a bow and a tiny sparkly pendant. As said, the lace is intricate and expensive-looking. It's not entirely flat so it might show slightly under tight, thin, clingy clothes. The zigzag stitched seams are much less noticeable in real life than online images suggest although, again, they might show under tight, clingy clothes. The cups are only thinly padded, but the material feels quite sturdy, almost stiff. They are lined with soft and comfortable cotton. Straps are only partly adjustable. The non-adjustable part is completely non-stetchy and covered with the same satin the cups are made of, which feels quite comfortable. The wings are made out of two layers of a perfectly matching stretch satin. There is no boning in the wings.

    Bra fit:

(partly copied from my original review of the 28F version) I must say, I am impressed. First of all, it kind of sort of fits!!! Secondly, this bra gives me the kind of shape I was expecting from Ewa Michalak's CHP, but that one didn't work for me AT ALL. The cup shaping keeps the breasts close to the chest, pushing them upwards for an uplifted, separated, and rounded 'Regency'-type cleavage. Compared to my Ewa Michalak CH there is slightly less projection, but the difference isn't as great as in the 28 band versions and it's actually really a very nice look. I do like the shape a lot: it's simply a bit more subtle than the shape I get in my CH and a bit more wearable for that reason as well. I know others consider this a look for 'special occasions', but I'm also happy with for a more everyday appearance. The cup height is quite perfect on me and there's only the slightest of gapping when I move my arms and shoulders, but as far as I know this is almost unavoidable with padded/molded cups, especially on smaller chests. The slight irregularity at the bottom of the front most cup seam that bothered me in the 28 band versions I tried is much less in this 30 band version, although it isn't entirely gone: for some reason there is a bit of diagonal pull in the cups that makes this part pucker. I'm very tempted to slip in a thin piece of boning to straighten it out as it's just such a shame in such an otherwise beautiful bra.

The wires are quite fine for me in this size, better than in the 28F. Unlike the Curvy Kate Tease Me I tried several weeks ago I do not notice the wires in this Rhea at all: no poking or pinching anywhere. The centre gore lies nice and flat and exerts zero pressure on my sternum. My breasts fill out the bottom of the cups reasonably well and the cups do not slip down like they did in the Tease Me and the CHP I tried.

The strap placement is wide but not too wide in this size. Again, it's decidedly better than in the 28F. The slight gapping of the cups when I move my arms is probably at least partly due to the wide strap placement, but then again, as far as I know this type of gapping happens in almost all padded/moulded cups, especially on smaller chests. The fact the straps are only partly adjustable is a bigger problem: as I have a very short upper torso I have to tighten them almost all the way to prevent them slipping off my shoulders. The material of the non adjustable part feels sturdy and comfortable. The zigzag stitching isn't the most aesthetically pleasing, but it doesn't bother as much as I thought it would.

The 30 band is suprisingly fine on my 69cm/27" ribcage, even though stretched it measures about 4cm more than what I've come to consider ideal. The brand isn't very stretchy to begin with and it doesn't ride up at all at the loosest hook. Still, if I wish I can still fasten it a bit tighter: I've noticed that switching between the hooks affects the fit of the cups somewhat -- moreso than what I've noticed in other bras -- which makes this 30 band much more flexible size-wise than the 28 versions I tried earlier. The band is shaped slightly funny in that it seems the wings to curve up rather than down. This makes it feel as if the band rides up in the back, even though it really doesn't. Simply takes some getting used to, I suppose. My only issue with the band is the lack of side seam boning and/or the lack of a powernet lining in the wings: tightness is less og an issue than in the 28 versions, but -- I think at least partly due to the fact that the satin the wings are made off is so much stretchier than the edging elastic -- the band wrinkles and most strain is put on the elastic edges. Side seam boning and a sturdier powernet lining would allow a more even distribution of the band tension along the entire height of the wings (not just along the elastic edges) and would almost certainly result in more comfort.

    Conclusion:

Now that I've tried this bra in a 30 band as well, I have a strong suspicion that both the flattened shape and the puckering in the bottom of the cups I noticed in the otherwise fitting 28 band versions are the result of diagonal tension in the cup caused by a 'too tight' band. Don't ask me why -- I'm almost thinking it is actually a design or construction flaw that has to do with fabric grain or something. It is also slightly funny, because the 28 band certainly doesn't FEEL too tight on my 69 ribcage (it feels tight, but not TOO tight) and the wires don't really seem as distorted as I've seen them in other bras with much looser bands (Bravissimo Mademoiselle ... ?).

Surprisingly, a band size up seem to work just fine. The band is not very stretchy to begin with and I haven't notice this 30 riding up on me at all. At 27" I'm obviously just in between band sizes so maybe that's why it works for me, but for what it's worth, if you experience a flattened shape and/or pucker in the bottom of the cup, try going up a band size. I myself definitely got a better shape that way.

The Masquerade Rhea is a mysterious bra. I've now tried it on in four different sizes and for some odd reason they all seem to fit. My breast size and density fluctuates (due to breastfeeding), but even though there may be as much a three cups sizes difference between my 'smallest' and my 'biggest' shape, these changes are not very clearly reflected in my actual measurements. Believe me, I quadruple checked! True, these four bras may not all fit the same at the same moment, but for Bratabase recommendation purposes I cannot say of any one of them that it doesn't fit under the current measurements at all.

The Masquerade Rhea truly is an Almost Perfect Bra for me. I don't think the shape it gives is as glorious as what Ewa Michalak achieves -- although in some ways this shape does suit me better and I think this model certainly FITS me better than some of the Ewa Michalak styles -- and I do have some issues with the fit and construction, but really, despite its minor imperfections it is an amazing piece! Anyway, I'm now sorely tempted to get it in all colours available plus, of course the matching knickers https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />

I ordered this bra because I was looking for something to give that super-uplifted, rounded cleavage that is great for scoop neck and other similar low-cut tops. I got basic black because most of my nicer tops are black or other darker colors, so if it peeked through, it wouldn't be a big deal. I like the shape of the Curvy Kate Tease Me, but I have yet to get it in the correct size, so I was hoping the Rhea would be the answer to my prayers.

I read many reviews saying the band was very firm and tight, so I ordered a 34. ... I should have gotten a 32, as I was able to wear it on the tightest hook immediately.

    Pros:

*Lovely materials....the bra itself is gorgeous

    Cons:

*The straps are not fully adjustable. I'm 5'4", so I usually need to adjust my straps quite a bit. I had to adjust these as far as they would go, and it still didn't seem enough.
*The cups are too tall. My breasts are very bottom heavy and soft, and even though these cups are supposed to lift everything up quite a bit, I felt the cup material was hiding all of the cleavage I wanted to be shown! The Curvy Kate Tease Me cups are slightly lower, which I think works better for me.
*Only 2 hooks, which doesn't feel supportive enough for me. I think the lack of hooks and the fact that the straps aren't fully adjustable makes this bra a deal-breaker. CK Tease Me has 3 hooks and fully adjustable straps.

I think I will return the bra and keep on searching for a Tease Me or other half cup bra to suit my needs.

Tiffany is a plunge bra with very little coverage and a wide center gore, which can make it a puzzling fit. The inside is lined with cotton which makes the cup extra comfy. Each cup has one vertical seam. However, I didn’t feel supported in a 32G because the band ran quite loose- I could do up the back easily on the tightest hook. When I did that it looked pretty good, but it wouldn’t last, as I felt unsupported. Since I have soft tissue I wonder if I’d fall into the middle after a few hours, although the bra provided good lift for my separate breasts. This ... is a tricky shape, I think, and the bra isn’t made in 30GG so I simply returned it.

The black satin has a lovely sheen all over the bra, around to the back of the band, and the hooks are a contrasting metal color. A big gauzy bow adorns the gore, which I’d remove as it seems less sophisticated than the rest of the bra. One front seam is a cup seam, but there are two additional satin seams on the front that aren’t part of the construction, which I think looks retro.

Apparently this bra is often sold as part of a bridal set, and I can't say I'm surprised! Despite the poor fit I had in this size, it is truly lovely. The entire bra, including the band and straps, is covered in soft stretch satin, making it the softest and most elegant bra I own. The bow over the center gore is a gauzy white, making for a nice romantic touch.

The shape from the side is very round and uplifted. Since it's a plunge, it takes a little adjusting before my boobs sit properly in the cups. Of course, this may also be ... due to the fact that the cups themselves are a little small on me, but this bra sadly stops at a G cup, so sizing up is not an option.

Appearance aside, this bra absolutely did not fit. Once I received my shipping info email from Breakout Bras telling me which bras I could expect, I looked the Tiffany up and discovered that the band runs large. Again, THE BAND RUNS AN ENTIRE SIZE LARGE. Since my underbust currently measures 32-33 inches and is still shrinking, a 34 that fits like a 36 won't work in the slightest. Even on the tightest hooks, I can feel that it is too loose and see the back riding up before my eyes. To make matters worse, the elastic is extremely stretchy, so not only is the band large, it is not firm enough either. The final problem with the fit is that the bottom elastic on the band turns up. This may not be related to the too-large band, but instead be the result of the difference in stretch between the inner lining of mesh and the outer layer of stretch satin.

In spite of all these fit problems, this is probably one of the most comfortable bras I've ever tried on. It's crazy comfy! I only wish I could exchange it for a smaller size. I'm currently planning on altering the band to fit, because otherwise this is pretty much my dream bra!

EDIT: Sadly, this bra is just not going to work out. I will be listing it for sale in the near future. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

This bra is almost perfect! Beautiful lace in a striking coral color, very firm side wings and back band. It gives a great, rounded uplifted shape that Masquerade does so well.

*Note, however: this is the smallest 32 band I have ever tried on!* It only stretches to a maximum of 30 inches, and I can wear it on the loosest hook with an underbust of about 28.

Be careful if your breasts are very close together. The center gore is a little too wide for me, and it pushes the cups forward a bit, reducing the support. The straps are also slightly too wide-set. Straps are only semi-adjustable. However, it still looks great, it is just not quite a perfect fit. I wish they'd make it in continuity colors.

I love this bra! It may be a bit lose in band, but for me it is totally ok. I do not own any other 30FF bra, so I can't compare it to others, but the size is the right one for me. I am very happy, that I found this brilliant bra and will never give it away https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />. It is very comfortable, does not poke, has a very nice look and I feel supported. The straps are also very comfortable but not adjustable at full length.

Never had a basque/ corset before but made the jump to get this because the pictures looked so beautiful! The basque is even more stunning in person (and on!) and I'll be keeping it even though it's not the 'perfect fit'.

    Pros
    - Lovely round basketball shape from both sides
    - Gorgeous design with intricate lace and detailing
    - Puts my chest upfront, cakes on a plate style
    - Relatively easy to get on myself: Starting with the back of the basque at my front, I connected up the top few hooks, swiveled the basque around like a normal bra, put on the straps then did up the rest of the hooks.
    - Flattering boning that fits my waist/ silhouette well

    Cons
    - Straps could be closer together to avoid being right next to my armpits, though doesn't cause irritation so would just be comfier
    - Centre gore doesn't lie flat. I'm really close set so overlapped gores are ideal. This lies just on top of my soft tissue but doesn't cause an issue.

This is gorgeous, I bought it on a whim because it was cheap on ebay. I don't do well with longlines due to my short torso, so I had some serious doubts about this piece. But it works! It's not a perfect fit, but I never expected it to be. It's beautiful, it shightly tucks inmy tummy and waist, and the shiny hip psnels only add to the hourglass effect. I can't really move or bend over in this, and I suspect the "wings", if you could call them that, will poke with prolonged wear. I'm glad I sister sized up in the band, my waist is 25.5-26 inches (on a good day, lol) and the loosest set of hooks was perfect for my hips and waist, but I would've wanted the band to be tighter for more support.

As a somewhat shallow boobed person, I thought that unlined bras were just not made for me. Then I found a Marcie clone that worked for me. And now this. This gives a wonderful round shape, with no padding! I love the vertical seams and the swirly mesh lace. And the dark plum color, of course.
I also have tall roots and this is open on top enough for me.

50% breathable cotton. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> This bra has low wings, a wide wire, and a low gore. These are important characteristics to me--somewhat narrow, immediately projected, short waisted, short rooted, omega shaped, close set, and center full.

The cup may be one size small: keep this in mind as you read.

Straps are half padded and wide only in front and over the shoulders. Sincerely, these are very comfortable SHORT SHORT straps. I'm relatively high set and petite. I extended the straps as far as they would go and I could use another 1/2" of length. Low set, ... tall users RUN...unless you like alterations https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />

The cups are too wide set for my close-set pair. And, I thought this fit better than most bras I've worn until I removed the bra and viewed the wire lines on one breast all along the breast's circumference. It is too center-shallow for me, but should fit average breasts well.

The cup height and apex location are perfect for me. This is unusual and wonderful. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> So, short-rooted friends, this is a good option.

The low wings are a design feature I so need, because I have significant breast tissue under my arm (roughly 3.6" above my IMF). Wires poking or compressing this tissue make me instantly uncomfortable. This bra with its low wing and wide wire did not cause immediate discomfort.

    The cup shrouds prominent nipples and cuddles them in a cotton-lined cup. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />

Admirable design characteristics for the short-rooted among us.

    • This is adorable. How have I never heard of this bra? I bet it was discontinued a century ago. Sounds like the straps would be far too short for me.

    • Yep...2012. Old stock on sale via Amazon. Seriously, the shortest straps I have experienced in 360+ bras: SHORT. Considering my dimensions, only the most petite of people could wear this particular bra.

The low wings are such a gift to my short-waisted physique, and I wish there were many others. But, it seems I'm destined to reside in the wireless community. Thankfully, gifted, caring people like you have us hard-to-fit bodies covered!

    • This is lovely!

    • 2

What a beautiful print on the lower cup!

GIRL WHY ARE YOU STILL TRYING UNDERWIRES D: I think they all want to kill you.

What you say about the tissue on your side makes sense. I think on some ppl, axillary tissue just continues smoothly into sideboob tissue and there isn't really an empty space for a wire to sit in?!

    • 2

:-) :-) wendybien I attribute this purchase to your advice: "you just need to find a wire with short wings." This was it. The last wire. It is so strange having breast tissue that fits literally front and center. Not one wired bra I tried yet is designed for this, and many wireless bras are not ideal for this tissue arrangement.

    • 3

That was months ago you can't pin that on me!!! LOL

    • 2

wendybien Love4Pollinators you gals are hilarious. ❤️️

    • 1

Love4Pollinators that breast shape with all the volume at the inner half is not uncommon at all, what's less common is your combo of fullness there, but tissue continuing (albeit without much of any projection) all the way round your side and up into your armpit. Most "all front" ppl have very narrow roots so they can wear the narrow wires but obvs you cannot if there is nowhere that the wire can sit on the side. Or you would need a Nike swoosh shaped wire. lol

    • 1

wendybien My sister, standing be side me and upright, thought we had nearly identically sized breasts, but leaning forward caused her eyes to open widely and she gasped, "Oh my. I guess not." It is shallow but apparently somewhat substantial. Sigh. Nike swooshes welcome here :-)

    • 3

That kind of thing is why I sometimes get mad at r/abrathatfits. They insist the only way to size is to see someone in a bra. I beg to differ. The best way to size someone is to see them in a bra, naked leaning forward, naked standing. Bras also hide a lot of fit issues.

    • cupandahalf where are you getting that from? If there's members of the sub saying that then I'll try to address them when they do. Nobody's supposed to be insisting that people need to post pictures.

    • 3

It's nobody insisting they need pics, it's ABTF in general saying breasts not in a bra say nothing about fit or shape. Which I tend to disagree with. Especially when it comes to the confusion of shallow vs pendulous. Multiple times I've seen someone say they're shallow when they have a 3-4" difference between standing & leaning overbust measurements. That's just not possible, that's more than likely a pendulous shape, which is a form of projected, & that's always going to require a bra with a lot of immediate depth, & pendulous breasts are easy to identify when you lean over & all of a sudden you have BOOBS. Pendulous breasts don't always stick out far from the chest when standing though, so I can see how they get confused when reading the description of shallow breasts. Without a bra on I look nearly flat but I'm the opposite of shallow. I've always thought there needs to be a clearer description of shallow & pendulous in the beginners guide.

    • 3

lcl0706 that's what I meant. That naked breasts don't tell anyone about shape. The shape gallery here has helped me immensely for instance. With body image as well as bra fitting tbh.

    • 2

lcl0706 that's a great example of why we advise people to not judge their shape from naked boobs, though? Those people who say they are shallow but they are actually pendulous, that's because they're looking at their shape standing up /without a bra/, just like you said, and comparing it to charts or discussions of shape. That's exactly the entrapment of trying to determine shape from naked breasts that we want people to avoid. Whereas, those breasts will behave as projected when put in a bra.

We do take things like difference between standing vs leaning into account when helping someone determine their shape. Also, our beginner's guide was just overhauled. Have you seen the new one? https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/wiki/beginners_guide it now says clearly to support your breasts when judging projection & has a graphic linked showing how projection can be misjudged from a standing position, and it says outright "pendulous breasts are almost always projected."

    • 2

I wish Bratabase required a "hand bra" photo because it clarifies several of my shape issues.

    • 1

I find hand bras really complicated due to my very large pendulous omega shape. If I hold my breast to my chest it folds up over itself. If I hold it out on my hand it is not shaped the way it is in a bra. I feel like the best hand bra for me would be leaning over with a hand cradling my breast and pushing it back towards my chest a bit.

Very pleasantly surprised by this bra. Normally I live in my Polish half cups, but was surprised to find that Delphi is actually a really great (and close!) fit. Unlike my Rhea, which is wearable but technically too shallow for me at the bottom of the cup, Delphi has enough space at the wire and tacks beautifully at the center gore. Its wide, satin straps and band are so comfortable and the cups are lined with a wonderful soft plush material. It gives a great, super round and projected shape, not unlike my Ewa CH. Lastly, the design is just gorgeous with the contrasting vine embroidery. Beautiful design + fabulous comfort + great shaping = my dream bra. I bought both the sepia and the black/silver color ways, and found the sepia to fit just a little more open at the top of the cup than the black, otherwise they're identical.

    Fits

I bought my first bra from another bratabase user which arrived this morning, the Massquerade Rhea. Success! It's The tiniest bit big in the cup but I'm my smallest time of the month and it will fit my bigger days. It has nice wide wires with a shallow cup fairly open on top which is perfect for me. There is pretty lace along top of cup but it does show through tight tops. I was fully aware the straps we're only half adjustable which sadly don't quite go small enough which may stop the very small gap at the top of the cup but the straps will stay ... up and the gap isn't noticeable under clothes. It's similar to my Cleo Maddie but the cup is a bit bigger overall, which is what I was after. Maddie is quite small in the cup for the size. Compared to the Maddie, the gore and the outside of the wires come up a little higher which suits me as I think the Maddie is a little too short for me. I'm very pleased with this bra, it's just sad it's not made anymore! If anyone knows of a reinvented version let me know. In the meantime, I have another colour of the same bra on its way to me.

    • I am glad it fits you. I was also interested in the Rhea but it wouldnt have fit me size 28F.
I will get it via ebay.co.uk size 28GG as part of a bra bundle. You might find the black Rhea there on ebay.co.uk size 30. (28 is out of stock).

    • I have a black Rhea in the same size on its way from another bratabase user and have already ordered the matching bottoms from eBay. I hope you get sorted out with yours too

    • I honestly believe you are over tightening your straps. Even this bra looks like it is digging into your skin. I feel that your trying so hard to get rid of gaping at the top of the cup that you over tighten all your straps. Also do you scoop and swoop all your breast into the cup? This will help you fill out the tops. I think plunges will work best for you overall as you seem outer full and centre full (most of you tissue on the outside breast and in the center of your breast).

    • The tops would gape a lot more if the straps weren’t that tight because the cups are way too deep and the straps would fall down even more otherwise. This bra would have been better a cup size smaller but I got it second hand so didn’t have the choice. The tight straps were a compromise to make it a little more wearable but I stoped wearing it as it just doesn’t work very well for me :(

This baby cost me AU$130 & was worth every penny! It's lasted me for ages, doing double duty as my everyday & sexy bra of choice, & has only recently popped an underwire. So well made, & it fit great until I recently put on a little weight. Would definitely buy again if I could find it in my current size.

    • Bra looks fabulous on you!

    • Outstanding!!! Beautiful!!

    • 1

There are a number of sister cuts to this bra including the Panache Black Ardour and Panache Elise which should be fairly available.

    • Thank you roxannelovesbras & Love4Pollinators , for the compliments. I certainly feel more attractive & confident when wearing it, hence my desire to find a replacement just like it. And drawingdwarf, that's fantastic, thank you. I'll keep an eye out for those styles too, while I'm searching. At the moment, I'm having no luck finding an identical style one in my size, within my price range.

    The good:
    - so, so beautiful & impeccably made
    - snug band
    - enough immediate projection!!!
    - lovely, rounded shape

    The less good:
    - the cups are too tall for me
    - I wish the band had more stretch; it's quite firm
    - straps are quite far apart and don't have much stretch

    In sum:
In theory, Anise is my ideal bra (shallow-ish but with immediate projection, open on top cups, wicked tight band for a 28), but it's not quite right for me. This would be the perfect bra for a <28 band person with tall roots or a lot of upper fullness!

This is really a very pretty bra, but it doesn't come close to fitting and is getting returned. Another reviewer mentioned that the cups were comically small and I had the same issue. It gave me astoundingly bad quadboob. Often, my partner thinks a little quadboob looks sexy, but even he had to laugh and said it made it look like my boobs have eyebrows. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I would definitely have tried this in bigger sizes, were it available in stores near me, because I love the concept of it. The corset-look feel it has is cool and it really is quite lovely. ... It feels well made and has nice detailing.

The band is quite snug, but feels true to size. The cups are oddly shaped, definitely pointy, and the shortest and most shallow I have ever seen. (And, short cups, it turns out, are one of the main keys to a bra that fits me and my short roots.) They do a little inward dip and than bend back up at the edges.

I can't even figure out what is going on with the gore. It's totally floating (except at the bottom where the band is), and yet also a little stabby because it hits at an odd location on my sternum, depending on movement. I have very soft, wide-set, splayed boobs...so the gore width shouldn't be an issue, but somehow it seems too wide. I think that must be due to all of the tissue being smooshed in the way it is.

The forked end of the wide-set straps are pretty, but they are a non-stretch ribbon-like material. It looks like they should pull in and smooth down my somewhat prominent tail of spence, but they just feel like they're cutting into my skin constantly and the edge of the strap ends up under my arms. Even if this cups had fit, this would be a deal breaker because it is painful. The straps themselves are a nice width and stretchy.

After wearing this for 20 minutes, to see if maybe my breasts would settle in and the cups would round out, I ended up with significant red marks around my sides. Other reviewers mention it being soft, but I don't find any part of it to be particularly soft or comfortable.

My favorite things about this bra are taking it off (!) and that it makes me feel like I have big boobs ("that 30D is WAY too small!")

I sized up on this one expecting it to be at least moderately shallow (my normal size is 28E, but I have to go up to 28F in less projected styles), however it turns out that it’s actually quite projected for a strapless. Unfortunately, like every other strapless bra in the universe, it is lacking in immediate projection and slides down below my IMF. Since it is also somewhat closed on top, again very common for strapless bras, it cuts in slightly due to sitting low on my chest. At the same time there is empty space at the apex of the cup since it is both the wrong shape and a size too large. The band at least I have no problems with; it is a snug 28. This bra is no longer available in 28E, but I probably wouldn't reorder it anyway; even by the necessarily lower standard of fit for strapless bras, I’ve found better fits than this.

I was so excited to get this bra from another Bratabaser. I keep hearing about how beautiful and soft it is, and it has been in my Recommendations forever!

Unfortunately it doesn't fit in this size. I think I need to go up a cup... or two... or three? When I first put it on, I actually burst out laughing because my nipples were not even in the cups. I tucked them in to take pictures. It quadboobed me so much that I actually had four roughly equal-sized boobs. Weirdly, I can pull the bra up a little and settle into it and not look THAT bad, but even then the coverage is too low for comfort, like the inmates might pop free at any moment.

I am sad that I'll have to sell this and see if I can find one in a bigger size. The hardware is shiny and beautiful, the straps have a glossy sheen to them, and this is truly a very elegant looking bra!

  20. Celene Balconnet Bra (7521)

    Didn't fit

The Celene is like a unicorn - a mythical creature, reportedly spotted infrequently, and of incomparable beauty. When I stumbled across a suitable sister size on eBay, I couldn't help myself. Since this is seemingly a rare (?) bra, with very little information on here and no reviews anywhere on the interwebs I could find, I'll do my best for those who may find themselves in the presence of the same opportunity I had.

Visually, it's stunning, despite being my umpteenth pink bra. The cups are peach and pinky-coral, so intricately decorated with fine lace, mesh, and embroidery. It's a work of art, really. ... All material used is soft and comfortable. The straps split in two right before attaching to the cups, to add a unique detail - although I worry about the durability of thin satin straps over time. I love the choice of gold hardware for the strap sliders and clasps. Masquerade and Curvy Kate are so good at those fine little details.

Band is a true 30, stretching to 30", which means it's too big for me. I can easily clasp it on the tightest hook. Sometimes I get lucky with 30 bands, and sometimes I don't.

Cups are quite projected for a half-cup/balconette style bra, and curve back in slightly on top. I measured them at 9.0" deep, which is about 0.5" small for me. I get some quadding on my larger side. Width was 5.5

Straps are long and completely adjustable up to the split satin, so they shouldn't be a problem for anyone.

My main gripe is the lack of height in the wings and wires under my arms - I feel like I have some boob escaping there. It's hard to find a bra that is tall enough without chafing my armpits. This one is just maybe a half inch to inch too short for me.

I could return it, but it's quite comfortable, so I think I will keep it until the band gets beyond wearable for me. It's really so dang pretty, I'm a bit disappointed it's not a perfect fit.

UPDATE: I ended up selling this beauty after it sat in my closet unworn, because every time I tried it, it was really just too shallow and small for me. So sad, the bra that broke my heart.
