this bra is very beautiful, but it's not what you want to wear under closely fitted knits - the surface is very textured and will definitely show through. the satin fabric is beautiful and mimics peau de soie just as well as the Tiffany bra i reviewed.

However, the beauty on the outside is not matched on the inside. there are a disappointing number of raw edges on the inside of this bra. the wire channels have at least a centimeter of empty space in them - enough to be noticeable and troubling, particularly with how low the wings are already. since my boobs tend to be side heavy, I like a lot of side support on my bras.

it doesn't really fit - the band is fine, but I can't fill the cups, and that's exaggerated when I sit down in the bra.

This is a difficult bra for me size-wise. I find the band comes up small and has little stretch, which is good for me as I really need a 26, although the lack of stretch means it gets a bit uncomfortable by the end of the day. Hopefully this will make it less likely to stretch out quickly.

The cups are slightly too small in a 28F, but slightly too large in a 28FF. I went for the smaller size because I prefer to have a little cleavage rather than gaping when I lean over. The shape is slightly pointy due to stiff seams, but the bra is softening ... up as I wash it. It still won't be good for tight tops as the lace is quite thick and show through thin fabrics.

The straps are only partly adjustable and I wish this wasn't the case as I'm wearing them as short as they go and really need them to be a bit shorter. They are made of a lovely satin fabric, but this contributes to them sliding off my shoulders!

The comfort and looks of this bra make up for the fit issues. Apart from the band stiffness at the end of a long day, it's extremely comfortable. The wires don't poke anywhere and it didn't require any breaking in. The lace detail and pretty charm in the centre make the bra look really expensive and beautiful. I have the Antique version which was exclusive to Bravissimo and it can be easily matched with a pair of nude knickers.

Just.. Omg. I can't believe I finally have a Lula Mae in my hands. It's been discontinued for eons now, and when it was in production, I recall it was $90+! The cups on this bra run a little large, and it's on the shallow side. The band is nice and firm. This isn't a perfect fit on me, the wires are not the right shape for my roots, but who cares! I love it! The photos show that the lace is a bit uneven on this bra, but actually its just one of the stitches on the lace wasn't holding it ... in the correct spot. I have since then fixed it.
The band is on the firm side and works well for anyone needing a 26 band.
My only real complaint is that the straps are placed really far apart, and at a angle to chop off armpits. This is the only aspect that makes the bra unwearable, and I will probably go about fixing it shall I decide to actually wear this bra. Unfortunately I have too many bras already, and this one doesn't give the best shape under clothes.

This bra was a hot mess on my very narrow, very projected bust, which is sad, as it looked stunning on the lingerie model (well, duh...). But it's the widest cup I've ever seen in my size range, and the band is tiny (and thin, and nearly non-existent given the width of the cups). If you're large but shallow and separated and really need a 26 band, this one might just be your one. For me? I dug out an extender to check the rest of the fit, and was surprised when it looked kinda okay after scooping, swooping and tucking. Then I leaned forward maybe 45 degrees to check my phone and fell right out of the middle. Like, no boobs left in the bra. Awkward >.>

Plus side - it doesn't actually cut in under the arm, in spite of half the cup being around there. And it is really pretty.

Just as unbelievably gorgeous as my Lula Mae in olive. Except this one soooort of fits. I mean, I knew it was going to be small in the cup, but this is the largest cup this bra comes in, in a 30 band. So pretty. Gives me tons of quad-boob, and the band is probably too tight. It seems as if I'm riiiiiiiight in between a 30 and a 32 band, and it's been a challenge trying to find something that isn't too tight or waaaaay too loose. Challenges.

    • Aww, too bad it doesn't quite fit you! I had high hopes. Challenges indeed. :( At least it's pretty, right? :D

    • Yeah, I mean I'm definitely keeping it, it fits about as well (maybe a bit better) than my other good option, a Freya in 32G. The other 30H I have doesn't work at all, the wires dig in in a really bad way. Thanks. :3

This bra is really well made and comfortable... but it runs REALLY big in the cups! Usually a 30H is a bit big in the band on me, but otherwise a good fit, sometimes even too small; on this bra, there's a significant gap between the top of my boobs and the bra. That said, since it's molded it doesn't look weird and bumpy like a softcup bra might- you can just see the outline of it under a shirt. My breasts are lifted and supported and stay in place, more or less- I just wore it while playing with my dog and jiggled a lot, but ... didn't fall out of it.

It still looks great- I might just put a couple darts in the cups to make them smaller.

The only other problem is that the underwire runs high under my arms. It's not poking painfully, but it's definitely right up there against my armpit. So while it's great for shirts that are low-cut at the neckline, it's not so great for shirts that are low-cut under the arms, like most tank tops.

    Pros: Well-made, great materials.
Good plunge shape for low-cut necklines.
    Great support.
Beautiful, and in a color you rarely see in bras.
Underwires are well padded so they don't poke.

Cons: Huge in the cups. Go for at least one size down.
    High under the arms.
Fabric is kinda slippery (it's satiny stuff.) This is nice comfort-wise, but if your boobs like to escape your bra, you might want something with a little more grip.
Color and lace probably will show under anything light-colored.

First, I must say that I was in love with this bra before I even bought it, so it should be obvious that I was going to be let down.
That out of the way, this is a very pretty, very quality bra that simply does not fit right. It looks okay when it's on me - looking in the mirror, I probably wouldn't guess that the bra isn't right. Under clothes, you'd never tell. But it certainly feels off, and looks bad from my vantage point.
It's mostly the cups I have trouble with. When I opened the package, I thought to myself - holy hell, those things are ... HUGE! (given my size, this is relatively speaking) I mean, I had bought a Freya Deco 28D, and even that I remember being smaller than these things. The cups on this bra are very wide, which I like, and that's why I buy Panache. However, they were not as shallow as I had hoped. The dimensions seem closer to a 28DD, so I'm guessing this runs a bit large. The cups are 3-part seamed, and I admit that I often have trouble with this construction - the top panel always seems to be angled oddly for my breasts, meaning I'm gaping at the tips and the edge is ending too low on my chest. It's also the type of cup where the area near the gore is much more open than the area by the straps, and would probably be better for women who have more breast tissue towards the center of their chest.
In sum, the cups would probably work best for middle- and center- heavy wide boobs. That is unfortunately not me.
Cup issues aside, there's still more to say about this bra. The straps are not fully adjustable, and given their satiny material, not the most likely candidates for staying up. The band is definitely the smallest 28 I've ever seen, but despite that, it felt a little loose on me - and I have an underbust that's somewhere between 25-27 inches. I think it felt loose because the band is really unstretchy and didn't cling to me the way a more elasticized band does. This might not be an issue for other women, but I felt it was worth pointing out.
So, overall, the Lula-Mae was a really, really nice bra that I very much wanted to own and love, but the shape of the cup was just bizarre on me - way too much room in the center, despite a great fit on the bottom half. But if you have wide breasts, this is definitely a bra worth trying.
