  1. Casandra Unlined Balconette Bra (27D21)

Wow, what a beautiful bra. Stock pictures didn't show the multiple little details that make it so pretty. Even the straps have lovely embroideries.
Unfortunately the fit is weird. The band is extremely tight. The cups are narrow and pretty deep, but lack immediate projection. The non-stretch bottom of the cups is cut in such a strange way that it makes the bottom of my boobs look like a flat surface instead of a curve. Where it joins the stretch cup top, it looks somewhat pointy and shows in cup quadboob. The cups themselves are far too tall for my short roots and wrinkle. The cups are the right size but a shape mismatch, and I think a design flaw as I've never seen the bottom of my boobs look like a flat surface before. Too bad because this is such a gorgeous bra, and still really supportive. I'll keep it, but I'll stay faithful to Lauma plunges as they fit much more nicely, and probably won't order a balconette from this brand again.

As someone with very projected and FoB breasts, it can be quite difficult to find a bra with very deep cups that don't gape at the top and fit my shape. Most bras have too shallow cups, which can hurt at the end of the day, but this bra has very deep cups even compared to other bras the same shape. It is very stretchy, which is both its main quality and its weakness. The band, the lace, the front part of the straps and even the mesh inside the cups are stretchier than average. As a result, it isn't the most supportive. The very soft lace makes it almost as comfortable as a bralette. The support level is intermediate between an underwire bra and a good wireless bra, just good enough for everyday use. The raspberry red lace is lined with red mesh that makes the cups look almost completely opaque. Overall, this is a pretty cute and extremely comfortable bra with its very deep cups.

This bra... I am really struggling to describe it. In itself is not that bad.

The material and band are made out of average quality materials like they are frequently used in "big cup brands" that go up to UK-F cup. The seams are straight and clean, there is cotton lining in the lower half of the cup, the lace feels nice to the touch (not scratchy), the straps are padded and there are metal adjusters.

I think it would be nicely supportive on somebody in 80G (36F UK). On somebody in 95J (42G UK) it is an utter failure.

To me it is clear from the construction ... that the people who designed it have no real clue how heavy boobs in really large sizes are.

The first flaw is the stretchy material of the cup. While a stretchy, lacy upper cup can be great (see Panache Andorra Fullcup), an almost equally stretchy lower cup out of satiny material is not a good idea for larger busts.

The second, even bigger flaw are the wires. They are a joke and about as supportive as jell-o. They are little more than thin wire and they bend under the weight of the boobs they are supposed to support.

In addition the cup is quite shallow near the gore, much shallower than boobs in these sizes usually are. In combination with the soft wires it prevents the gore from tacking, despite the volume being correct.

    Didn't fit

*My shape info: projected, pendulous, full on bottom, soft tissue, short roots, average to narrow-ish roots (still haven't figured out what's considered to be narrow, what - average).*

Today I got this pretty mauve-ish bra.

I went to a couple of local stores and tried on some bras, sister sizing the band up from size 70 to a 75 (UK ~32-34). They make larger cup sizes along with this band size more often so I got to try on a decent number of 6 bras to choose from in sizes 75F/G in the Lauma store. Yay!

    - For the record, so far the best fitting Latvian bras that I've got are ... sized 70H (and are very similar in band length and stretchyness, and cup size, to the Freya Patsy plunge balcony in 30GG), but none of the three stores that I attended today had any bras in this size. Rare to find around here. Theoretically, in catalogues, they exist, but are not manufactured very often - or maybe they are in the storage but not available in the stores.

This bra stood out as this is the closest that I've come to a tacking center panel and well-fitting cups in local brands. In the store, the center panel lied flat against my sternum; when trying it on again at home, it stood a couple millimeters away from my sternum, but overall felt supportive and comfy.

The cups are a good volume for me, there's no quadboob and no empty spaces except at the usual strap-attachment area (i have projected boobs so, when well supported, they're kinda round-ish on the top part). The silhouette of the cups is rounded, with a little bit of a smooth "peak" along the widest part. Looks good, to my mind, and underneath a tighter top the "peak" didn't seem noticeable at all.

There is a foam side panel on the inside of the cups, for added support. The outside of the cups is made of an elastic jacquard fabric with a satiney shine and a pretty floral pattern woven in, and of a stretch lace on the top part. The inside of the cups is lined with soft cotton jersey fabric.

The underband is too large for me though. When closed on the tightest set of hooks, it stays in place for a short time, but after that it starts sliding down in the front and riding up in the back. It's incredibly stretchy, too, measuring 67 cm unstretched and 88-90 cm when almost fully stretched.

The wires are a good width for me, could be the best so far, to be honest. I already thought that the 15 cm wide Freya wires were comfortable, these seem even better. I still have to try wearing this bra for a whole day but so far it feels very comfortable and supportive.

The straps are nice and wide, and there's foam padding in them for added comfort.

    ***
Overall, I'd say that, just by the look of it and judging by the short time that I got to try this on / wear it around the house, this is one of my best fitting bras so far, cup-wise. I hope that it lives up to the first impression later, too! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I'm a bit sad that the underband is too large but I plan on adjusting it by taking it in by a couple centimeters. I hope that'll work.
