So really, I'm only entering this bra because of the complete hilarity of it. Look at the shape! WHAT??

It takes quite a bit of maneuvering to get the boobs into this bra. The cups are so elongated that at first there is about a ping-pong ball's worth of empty space at the ends of them. But if I lean forward and jiggle a bit, magically my boobs reach all the way to the ends! It is seriously the most bizarre thing ever. You can kind of see in the pictures that there is a sort of shelf under the lace that goes ... midway up. That gives the upwards projection you can see in the side shots. But then it ends right around the tips, so if you grab your boobs from the front, there is like a squishy ball of boob and then a tank bra. I can hardly describe it. So weird. So hilarious. My boyfriend HATES this bra. But I kind of like it. It's like modern art or something. I'm pretty sure I need to install lazors to fire out of the tips.

As for comfort, the band is very snug (presumably to make up for the lack of underwire), and the bra itself is relatively comfortable for wearing around the apartment. I tried to sleep in it, though, and woke up with crazy back pain, although I have no idea what the reason for that would be.

The construction is extremely sturdy... and... Well, really, you probably just shouldn't get this bra unless you have a specific reason to, so I'm going to stop there. Heh. Complete insanity.

    • Looks like some sort of breast torture device! Sadly, I had a bra fitting a few years ago and if it wasn't this brand, it was similar. I think their goal is to see how wide and pointy they can make a breast. :-)

    • 1

Lasers....ha!!!! This gave me my laugh for the day. Thank you. :)

    • 2

I was reading your review out loud to my hubby, and he heard "fire out of the tips." as "fire out of the tits."

This is a truly impressive monstrosity of a bra. I wonder what the smaller sizes are like, if they make them.

    • 2

Oh. my. lord. XD I can see that bra as being part of a Lady Gaga/glam rock themed burlesque costume, maybe!

    • WOW, I actually kinda want this bra.

    • 6

I would love to know what the cup depth is on that bra!

    • 2

Love the look of this bra ! Bullet bras are about to make a big come back .

    • This is the only manufacturer I've ever seen who uses CC and EE cups. I guess they just want to be special?

    • 1

      Oh...my..gosh.hahahahah! I have never seen a bra do such a thing...this bra is...special. XD
Well, you can't complain about not getting enough projection in a bra like that!

I love all my 'jeunique J30'(44JJ,...) or
      my 'Beauty Jeunique'
for the confort, the hight and good support,
he magnify the bust perimeter and offer a good
      look under the pull over.

You say your boyfriend hates this bra where my husband loves to see me in these types of bras.

I must say it looks to fit you really well.

I have started to wear these bras more and more for the support they give and the fact they have no under wire which I don't really like.

If you need a ego boast then a walk out and about wearing this bra should do wonders.

I have a black rubber mac that I wear tightly belted when I go for a walk sometimes wearing my bullet bra and wish to attract attention.

Feel I need a ego boast sometimes.

    • 1

      Lasers from the tips!!! LOL

    • This is one of the few pointy bras that you can get in a large cup.
It gives really good projection as one can see in the photos.
I wish more woman with large busts would wear this kind of bra.
I think most men like to see a large bust projected out.

    • 3

KateWild the bra sure does look good!
Your comment about guys liking to see a projected bust is irrelevant though, at least to me. I wear a bra because I (and me and myself), like how it looks, not for anyone else!
That said, positive attention from men can be a huge ego boost! (And that's something we can all use sometimes).

I love this bra! It's great for back support and everyday wear, and there's nearly no jiggle when you're wearing it. Your boobs also don't sit on your tummy, which is great!

UPDATE: Wow, this only lasted about 6-9 months -- not even a full year! FAIL.

    • I've noted that most of bras this size tend to have super pointy cups. is this also the case?

    • It's not super pointy on, but it's pointier than other bras I have.

    • That's this bra right? http://brasfittoyou.com/J61.html :)

The Jeunique J31 is a wireless bra with a 2-piece outer cup with a horizontal seam and an inner 'banderin' construction (this is what the manufacturers call it). It has fully adjustable straps, nursing clips on the straps and an inner sling as found in nursing bras. In this size it fastens with 3 rows of 5 columns of hooks.

I've really wanted to get my hands on one of these bras for years, but it seemed like every time I checked Ebay, cup sizes which would be at all close to my own or a sister size were all listed at like $90 USD or the postage to ... Australia would cost twice as much as sellers were asking for the bra. I was really thrilled to be able to purchase this from a Bratabase user for a better price as it provides support in a way which is so different from a conventional bra and I wanted to see how well it managed a very large bust.

Jeunique is a company which made bras based on patterns which were common in the 50s & 60s. Most of the bras around today seem to be old dead stock. My bra is tagged 1995, but it's definitely like new in terms of the material quality. Make no mistake about it, this is a very retro look! It reminds me a lot of the bra which I sewed myself 28M - Unknown Brand ยป Brabratory (42) although my construction was not nearly as strong and I used a vertical 2-part cup.

The J31 is the beige colourway, as each colourway made from Jeunique has its own model number. The lace and powernet is a medium beige with a warm tone. The cups are lined with a stabilising net underneath the lace. The straps and hooks are a slightly ligher beige. The nursing clips are beige plastic. There's a little embroidered floral decoration stitched on the top of the 'gore' area.

The banderin is super intriguing. It's a layer of very thick material which feels rather like plastic and comes about half-way up the bra. A retailer website said 'the banderin is made of an aerated plastic material with soft material on each side' but the actual bra care tag says '100% nylon lycra spandex' so I'm not entirely sure what it's made of. It's not like anything which I've seen before. This serves the purpose of shoring up the bottom and side of the cup and lifting the breasts to fill the full projection of the bra.

The lower part of the band is covered with fairly wide plush-backed elastic which has been folded over (about 1.5cm height on either side of the band) which creates a wide firm band area to sit flat against the chest. The top of the band has the regular sort of plush-backed lingerie elastic.

Onto the interesting part; the fit! I'm surprised about how much I really like some of the features of this bra which I was fully expecting to be mostly a curiosity, but it's not all positive. I picked this size 36KK based on the cup depth alone owing to lack of other info and knew that if I was happy with it I'd need to take in the band and perhaps make other alterations to better fit my frame size. The band on mine stretches to about 93cm (~37") which is pretty standard for a 36 band I think. It's much too big for me, but I can assess the cup fit if the bra is worn on the tightest hook. As this is a well-designed full cup bra, the straps are in a position where they stay on my shoulders comfortably. I repeat, the straps are in a position where they stay on my shoulders comfortably. Bras don't do that in my size range, especially as I am mostly obliged to sister size to get the cup volume I need. I think that I underestimated cup size a little, and may do better one cup size down, but some of that may just be that there's too much cup height, which is normal for my very short breast roots. It's actually pretty good guessing from numbers alone, though it's hard for me to tell exactly how the bra should fit as it's so unlike other bras I've tried. The straps also don't adjust short enough for my very small frame and high-set breasts, but on the plus side, the height of the bra cup at the side has been shaped well enough to not cut into my armpit. The cups are unfortunately too wide for me and I get quite a bit of gapping at the sides as the support there is very inflexible.

Putting the bra on involves a bit of leaning forward and wiggling plus a generous scoop to get everything lifted by the banderin and the apex of the cup filled. Once everything is in position though, it seems to stay there. Wearing this, I get simply phenomenal bust projection. To put this into perspective, I have a bust perimeter of about 107cm (42") wearing an Ewa Michalak FB, and this bra gives me a perimeter of about 118cm (46.5")! It's super pointy and amazing. I don't know if I have any clothes I can really wear it under because of this bar pajamas, and I don't know if I'd want to wear it out of the house even if I did, but I know that I'd definitely be ready for a 1950s dress-up party. I'm not sure that my husband can deal with this bra, he's clearly not as open to historical fashion trends as myself. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" /> The bottom of the cup doesn't wrinkle at all thanks to the banderin, and it also makes the centre of the bra sit very close to the chest (it doesn't tack since it's wireless, but it's not floating halfway off my chest either). I think in many regards, this bra is better at actual support than anything else which I've tried. The banderin feature is extremely effective and far more comfortable than underwires, which tend to dig in owing to the sheer weight of my breasts. I'm planning to perform some alterations on the bra so that it fits a little better and will add more notes to this review then.

    • There should be a side-view picture in my review (unless the pictures haven't been approved yet?) The home page only picks out the first few pictures to display.

    • Great! Also, wow the picture quality on this lot of uploads seems to be really poor. The only difference to normal is that I took them myself using the camera timer function. I wouldn't have thought this would make them look so much worse than getting someone else to use the exact same camera. :/ I may see if I can get a couple of better looking ones.

    • I'm interested to know what you think too now that you've seen one in action. I'm really impressed by the support but obviously the shape makes it a little awkward. I don't know what kind of clothes I could wear this with both because it would be very attention-grabbing and I prefer to fly under the radar when it comes to my breasts and also because I need an extra 10cm of bust circumference room and pretty much every article of clothing I own is straining at the seams there already.

This review makes me smile , because I had this same bra by cameo company ( they have several different names under which they sell I think it's regional differences) so if you actually like it you might try to search Cameo as well , I think there's several other names I can't recall at the right now.

Anyways this is why it made me smile is because my husband called is my cafeteria lady bra . Always felt like I was locked and loaded with two to torpedoes on my chest . It's definitely a pointy luck . I wore them under my regular clothes and it looked fine, particularly heavy sweaters, perfect under shapeless stuff made you look really awesome you will get looks from men ;) . Oh and it's the best sports bra ever jump up and down they don't move . Of course it's not the most comfortable sports bra but you can run for the bus and there is no bouncing lol oh and your husband will likely like that bra if you open it up ;)
Have read how to properly put one of these bras on? Those look like nursing clips but they are for opening up the front and properly placing your breast in the shelf then you close it. Here is a link .http://www.ahbras.com/how_to_fit_your_brantly.htm

    • 1

Ivp Using the clip to help position the breasts makes a lot of sense! I think that will make it so much easier to adjust than the awkward jiggle dance I was doing. :D

I can't fully decide until I alter the band and wear it a little, but I'm much more positive about it initially than I thought I would be just based on the info from other users on the site. Maybe it's like licorice and a love it or hate it thing.

    • 2

I know it's a fugly thing but a feat of engineering that you have to admire much like a suspension bridge , mine grew on me .funny how that goes isn't it . I changed sizes or I probably would still have it thing was sturdy . Heck sometimes you need a bra that makes you feel like a 50s pinup or in my case I pictured a Russian Olympic champion (no clue why I am odd) now you make me think about trying to find one in my size again , wonder how hard it would be to dye or pretty up a touch hmm

    • What a nice looking bra and I love the pointed shape it gives like yourself I have been looking to buy this kind of bra but because I have such a large bust and small frame I have not had any luck.Have you ever managed to find a long line bra in your size ? I have looked every where but with no luck.I don't think they make them for big busted woman.

This was more for my boyfriend than for me.

I'm very shocked how comfortable this bra is. In all honestly it does not look that crazy when you are wearing it with non form fitting shirts. Overall its going back, I'm going to look for a 36 k or kk.

It has the biggest straps I have ever seen, but they are only one inch wide.

Bonjour, I see with satisfaction your adhesion at my considerations concerning this bras. Personellement I prefere the style J30 or J31 but the continuity is not assured.

    • Hi,
I see your added photografy, it is the news fabrications 'Beauty by Jeunique' J60. Do you know
or have you news other buyers for this ?
For comparaisons and equivalences of cups sizes look with interest this UK site.
      http://www.plussizebras.info/size.html
      Regards.
PS. where is your cats logo :-) :-)

    • I love these bras.

One of the few bras that give a nice pointy shape.

They put ones bust out there in front where in my opinion it's where they should be not under ones arms.

    • I'm curious about if you ever ended up trying a different size in this. Jeunique and other classic cut bras are about the only things which I haven't tried in my size range, but I'm reluctant to take a gamble with no sizing information, as they're very pricey and often not returnable (I think the company went into receivership or discontinued some of their lines but still had heaps of stock left?), or return shipping eats up a big chunk of my costs anyway because I'm in Australia.

Basically, the questions would be how close is this size to your size in most UK sized bras, and did you find that the difference in cup volume (if you tried more than one size) is roughly equivalent to UK sized bras? Their own sizing guide seems completely disparate to the sizes which I've seen women take on this site who use Bratabase fitting guidelines (which is no suprise considering the general state of information regarding bras). The bra seems to hold up really well to large busts, so it's possible it may be a viable option if I can buy a size which works for me.

The vintage/pointy look? Well, I guess if the bra is a really good fit, I'll just have to get used to it. :)

    • hi,

I've worn this size for 20+ years. I absolutely love them. The fit is perfect, comfortable, gives me lots of support. No red shoulder marks, no achey back! They last for years -- far longer than the manufacturer says. You can wash them in the regular laundry (cold), but hang them up to dry (no dryers). I bought 3 ahead when it was on sale. I never thought -- or wanted -- to wear anything different. But an unexpected medical condition has forced me to change sizes.

The construction is very sturdy and they are beautifully made.- lace over net - which may not be every ones cup of tea. Good projection. The cups are quite pointy without being a bullet bra, pretty much the opposite to a minimizer. There is a stiff band of a plastic/fabric material running from one side under each cup to the side. This band forms part of the cup.
They are quite a firm support bra. I remember a lady who questioned "what does support even mean ?" I can say for me, being older, it means completely containing the girls and holding them firmly in position against my chest ... with no jelly tops.
I have brought 3 in this size now and have even worn them doubled up (two bras) for special occations which looks great - they point you in the direction you're going. Probably not a bra for the office though - without attracting to much attention.
The power net in the wings is giving out on a couple of mine but I must admitt they have done a lot of work.
Certainly not the most comfortable bras in the world but I think it's worth it for the great shape they acheive.

A sturdy bra which gives pointed bullet bra type shape. It looks fabulous under sweaters and 1950s clothes. It isn't the prettiest bra but does the job and that's the main thing. It features Jeunique's bandolier which holds the breasts up.

I have worn this brand/style of bra for the last 22 years I have noticed some differences through the years. The quality is not what it used to be, the band at the base of the bra is smaller, the straps are wider set, and it seems the last ones the hooks/eyes pull out and bend/break more easily. I've also had a couple of times where the strap somehow pulled out of the double buckle or the buckles have broken and lately with the back riding up and the front band rolling up. Yet I will keep buying these as long as I can. I HATE UNDERWIRES and this bra is wireless and mostly keeps my breasts from hanging onto my torso/abdomen.

With this 44K size, I get the best fit between my others Jeunique J30 (46K, 44jj, ...) that I love for their comfort, support and also retro shape they provide.
With this 3 layers of 5 hooks, these reglabes and inextensibles straps.
With a good adaptation of band length and the 'banderin plate' there are an excellent report at back of the breast loads.
in opposition with 'crushed balloons' and with the return of retro forms, here the semi pointy cups procure good look under clothes or ajusted pull-over, the bust perimeter is magnified with this bras.
