Lol I Ebayed this and I should not have. When will I learn?! This bra appears to be designed for a breast shape - one I’m not sure exists - of if someone made two or three pancakes, very large, covering the whole frying pan, and then stuck them to your chest starting at the spot where your side turns into your back. It is the widest shallowest weirdest bra I’ve ever seen. Straps also pull from a weird spot in an odd way that reduces support and makes the fit even worse.

Beautiful. Raspberry red, not firetruck. Didn't come in 32GG so I went with 34G. You can take something in if it's too big, not much you can do if it's too small. Waistband hits 2" below my waist. Body is not super loose but offers no shaping. Cups fit but no cleavage. Very separate and contained. Useless without the straps unless you're boobs are self supporting. Bottom of cup buckles once I remove the straps. Wires aren't as wide as I feared, comfortable even if not ideal. Zipper is tricky. Bow on waistband will show through slim dresses. Overall not terrible. Husband is already drooling over it. Will probably replace the plastic boning with steel. Wish I could move the waistband but there's so much stitching holding it on I'd probably damage the fabric just getting it off.

    • After the first part of your description, I was surprised to read your husband is still drooling over it. I guess he really likes this type of garment, eh? Well, lucky for you, right? And do let us know how the boning transplant goes. I loathe plastic boning. It should always be steel, I say.

    • learningaboutbras honestly, I could be wearing granny panties and a sports bra and as long as
      a) it's red, b) my bits are popping out, or c) it's sheer/see through
He'd probably still drool. I'm lucky like that I guess. I'll keep this one for him but I was really hoping for something to wear under nice strapless dresses.

    • Guys are like that usually. :P Be glad that he's pretty easy to please in the wardrobe dept.! You could be stuck with a guy who expects every night you're dressed in the whole 9-yards (heels, perfectly matched lingerie, stockings, garter belt, makeup, etc...)

That {hypothetical, I hope] guy with such high expectations had better be packing some serious equipment valentine556 ...!

    • wendybien

You'd be surprised at some of the expectations men have had. It's when they expect me to cater to those things that I lose interest - usually before anyone has removed any clothing.

    Hasn't set fit

Bought this bra in 34G before I discovered my size was actually 32H. I would say that the band is slightly loose and the cup size slightly large, although I wouldn't say a whole cup size. I love the shape it gives - natural and rounded and I found it quite supportive - despite being slightly too small for me. I also love the narrow straps as I don't like the huge straps that you get on some bras. I have now bought this bra in 36G and had the band altered to 32 size, making a 32H.

If I dreamed up a perfect bra, this wouldn’t be exactly it, but it would be purty durn close. This somehow has enough immediate projection for me, despite being for someone more shallow. Everything fits, there’s no overspill. The cup stretches to accommodate. The only problem is that the cup is just too tall. There is wrinkling on the top by the strap, but it’s not in a spot that breast tissue usually goes in. There’s also gapping on the outside by my tail of Spence. I’ve ordered one in a cup size down, but honestly, this is so comfortable, i would just wear it as is if ... the new one doesn’t fit. This is so close to exactly what I’m looking for, I don’t think I’ll find anything better. It’s 100% my aesthetic- simple, straightforward. minimalist, gets the job done, but still somewhat visually appealing. It provides an insane amount of lift for my pendulous breasts, especially considering it’s seamless- nipples are front and center. I’d rather it had 3 hooks, but the 2 hooks it does have are set on a wider band than other brands. It’s sturdy, the band is supportive, the wires are nice an narrow and super flexible. I don’t know why these aren’t more popular.

This bra would be close to perfect if it came in a 32GG. My only issue with it is the band is a bit too big but that hasn't stopped me from buying four of them! Sheer & sexy, Very comfortable & slightly minimizing I wear this bra when I want a more natural shape.

  6. Retrolution Half Padded Bra (8511)

I've recently had a large bra haul of older season styles I've always wanted to try. Retrolution was one of them!
Positively reviewed by missunderpinnings, 2cakesonaplate and lecurvykitten, I've had my eye on this bra for almost two years. Too expensive though (it was a VIP item) but now I found it for £13, I couldn't resist 😁

Got it in two sizes + two colors, trying to combine the reviews:

While I'm not necessarily into cone boobs / pointy bras, I do like the design and 'retroness' of this (aptly named) Gossard model. Wasn't sure if I could rock this style but very curious to try it out! ... I actually prefer the black color but as I don't have any nude-ish bras and not all sizes were available, I decided to try both black and blush.

I had heard this bra ran small both in the cups and the band?
My average size is 30GG and normally I'd try 32G in Gossard. Here I sister sized to 34G (blush) and 36FF (black - no 34G available). Both bands are way too large though - definitely need to shorten them. Im not very surprised but a 32 (or even 30) band would have been much better.

In the blush (34G) there's some wrinkling on my smaller breast. Perhaps a 32G would have been fine after all, although I do think there would be cutting in on my left breast (this bra is kind of closed on top).

Cup-wise, the 36FF seems to fit a bit better than the 34G? Less wrinkling and the strap placement is less wide. The straps themselves are very stretchy and I need to adjust them pretty short. Strap width is so comfy and even if it looks a bit industrial, it fits the aesthetics of the bra imo. However, the area where the bra cups meet the straps is quite tall and wide. Chafes my armpits and will peek out from under clothes.

About the shape, well it is definitely POINTY: especially from the side.. No surprise, but I'm not sure I can get used to this look? Very different from other bras I own (so yeah it does add to my bra repertoire 😇). But I'm not sure how often I would wear them as the shape it gives is slightly out of my comfort zone.

However, under the right clothes this bra is actually pretty awesome! I've added a couple pictures under different outfits. Keep in mind it does need a tight / structured dress or sturdy fabric to hide the pointiness.

Guessing I'll keep the black (alter the band) and return the blush. Unless someone on here wants it?

I didn't have much faith in this brand because I haven't seen much info in the full bust community blogs, but I took the risk anyway because the bra looked gorgeous.

It paid off. The bra is beautiful and fits like a dream my FoT boobs. Gives me great cleavage and a super round shape. Too 'in your face' for everyday wear, though. The band feels firm, more like Cleo than Freya or CK. The depth is lovely, in CK I usually have to size up 1 or 2 sizes and can get a bit of 'orange in a glass' effect. In this bra the cups run TTS to large, I do not recommend sizing up.

I enjoyed this bra, though the cups were way too wide for me. I gave it to my sister, who filled the cups completely but needed an extender for the band to fit. I feel like this bra was shaped funny for my taste, almost torpedo. I really liked it, just wasn't for me.

I received this lovely bra from a fellow Bratabase member. I hadn't tried Gossard before, so I gambled on the size. It is very, very pretty, but . . . the cup is 2+ sizes too shallow. I'm concerned I just can't make a plunge work regardless of cup size because I fall into the center. This is not a problem I experience in the Freya Deco, but I also don't get any particular cleavage in that one either, so I thought I'd try the Gossard.
I do love the way the band is made on the Gossards; I find the open sections sexy and the overall arrangement to be very supportive. It doesn't seem as "skimpy" at the clasp as most 2-hook styles.
Quality seems high: stitching was lovely, materials felt nice, metal hardware.
Practicality would even be fairly decent in spite of the lace on the upper third of the 3-part cup.
I will be sending this one back into the universe for someone who has wider-set, shallower boobs.

cup to strap region is too far lateral and too straight up and down. should swoop in a bit more for comfort. Boobs look sort of angular, doesn't contour well along seams. back strap very snug, not forgiving.
