I absolutely love this! Not suitable for center fullness though, byt it's so beautiful I just couldn't resistent it! It should be hanging on a wardrobe door or from a folding wall or something really, but as it is now it makes me smile everytime I open the lingerie drawer https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I wish I could have this bra in my size range so bad!

FoxTaylor i think the plunge onöy goes up to E and the padded to G. It's definately not fair!

Your review makes me want this set, even though it wouldn't work for me in any way. I'm glad you are having such amazing results with it. It looks fabulous on you!

    • learningaboutbras thank you, I'm quite pleased with the pictures (well. Some of them). But the truth is that it doesn't look as nice once I start moving around haha

I was really, really, really looking forward to getting this bra and am sad I had to return it.

I had strange gaps and buckling at the inside of the cups on both sides, but it was more pronounced on my left side (my smaller breast). I kept scooping and scooping to try and get my tissue to move towards center, but it wouldn't fill out that section of each cup. Even after tightening the straps, I was still dealing with the gaps.

My shape: slightly shallow teardrop/FOB with super wide/tall roots and very close-set tissue in the middle

This review is for the Blush colorway.

This bra is so stunningly pretty, I am groping for adjectives and coming up short. It's very subtle, especially with the almost nude but actually pale shimmery pink color and I totally did not expect it. I thought from the photos online that it was cute and retro, but they really don't do it justice. My camera picked up a little of the sheen on the satin, but again, you really have to see it in person.

The wires fit beautifully; they are still the wrong angle to ... get the end of my breast root under my arms, but most bras are and it isn't uncomfortable, and they are just the right shape for the rest of my inframammary crease. Plus, the center! Let me tell you about this magnificent V-shaped gore. It is a feat of engineering I didn't know I have been looking for my whole life! The only problem is, Gossard needs to know that now I have seen it and know that it can be done, I want MORE!

The cups are soft and squishable, but lovely foam padding keeps their shape and provides discretion. The angle of the plunge is extreme, of course, but for once it's a plunge that isn't too FOT for my slightly FOB teardrops, and it also doesn't cut into my tall roots! The shape they give is also gorgeous and round and pretty natural looking; it's definitely not very retro and there are no bullet-shaped Sweater Mittens here, but I'm not complaining!

From one very specific angle I have noticed in the photos that it would appear that I am spilling out of the center of the cups, creating a buckle in the cup fabric. I noticed it when I was wearing it, but thought it was resolved when I tightened the straps. Spilling out is not a problem I've ever had before! Not sure what it indicates, and I certainly don't notice it anymore when it's on.

I am quite disappointed in how loose the band is, though. I know, I know, I mostly wear 30s and the occasional stretchy 28, so I should have known a 32 was risky, but my 30G - Gossard » Egoboost Strapless Bra (6288) is SO tight and people have said the bands in several other models are tight (or at least firm), but not so here. It is very stretchy and even on the tightest hook I can already pull it away from my back more than enough to fit my fist underneath.

It's too bad it's not a full longline. I know lots of ladies don't like them, but I do, and the trade off is that the band doesn't lay as smoothly (or disguise backfat as well) as a full longline. The narrowing back band is lower than a standard bra, but also curves up toward the hooks, mirroring the upper U-shape and looking pretty, but which makes it feel like it's riding up even when it isn't.

After wearing this bra for a day, I can say it's pretty comfortable, kept me front and center all day long, and I could tell from the marks (I mark easily) that the wire neatly gets all but the tiniest tail of my breast root and stayed there all day long! The elastic from the back band, which already didn't have quite the even tension I wished for due to the transition between longline and regular, caused some more serious marks on my ribs that itched for awhile when I took it off, and the gold eyes that the straps pass through dug into my shoulders something fierce for the first half hour or so; I stopped noticing after that, but there was still a red spot by the outer edge of each.

  4. This bra is a longline kind of, at least in the front. In the back it is a regular one, with 3 hooks (!) to fasten it.

The band is tight enough for me which means it runs tight. I usually need a 28 band. The cups are okay for me, but I think they make my boobs a little east-west. The deep plunge front would ideally create a massive cleavage, but because of the east-west shape, my cleavage disappears. The cups are quite big in a way that they make my boobs look very big! I don´t however think the cups are too big for me, I think it is the "right" size. It could be though that wearing a smaller cup size I would get the to-die-for cleavage, don´t know.

The straps are very wide and soft. They adjust all the way. The bra is very comfortable to wear.

I did also get matching briefs size M. They feel very supportive and I think they run true to size. I usually wear EU M.

    • Is there any boning in the longline part? And what did you mean you bulged out a bit in the V part?

Oh. my. god. This makes my boobs look so good. Despite probably needing a 30F or even 30E because the band puckers out a little bit and there is a lot of space at the top of the cup, it just looks so good I don't even care. This is the only time I've felt I've had good cleavage in a bra. My left boob is weird and always creates unsightly cleavage. It's hard to explain why, but it's something to do with having a slightly narrower root on one breast and soft tissue in the middle. But in this bra, my boobs are pushed up instead of to the center and it works. And I love staring at them, ha.

I am just worrying that a different size would have been better and would last longer.

It also sometimes pokes me a little under the arms, but this is merely a sign that I didn't scoop and swoop enough, really.

    Hasn't set fit

I am 5'1" with small, sloping shoulders, east-west breast tissue that is mostly in my armpits, and noticeable asymmetry due to having tuberous breasts.

After this particular bra in a 30DD didn't work out, I searched the internet for a 30D. (This was supposed to be my birthday gift, but ended up being very belated!) It was a gamble because I wasn't sure if the 30DD was due to a shape mismatch or was legitimately too big for me.

All I have to say is "oh, wow!" This is a positive exclamation that translates roughly to "where did these boobs come from?!" I have never witnessed such ... projection or lift in my life. I'll probably look ridiculous doing so, but I really want to wear this bra even while doing mundane things like running errands, because I feel like a million bucks.

The 30DD which is no longer in my possession did not have removable pads. The 30D, however, has removable pads.

I'm so happy that the 30D worked out. This is my first longline style bra and my theory is that due to not being very tall, that I may need to size down to get the proper fit.

Pros: Having worn the 28F - Freya » Just Flew In Padded Longline Bra (1393), I was pleased to find that the Retrolution Staylo Plunge has some boning down the front and sides of the bra to keep it from folding up. With it being a plunge, the cups of the Retrolution fit my wide-rooted, shallow boobs surprisingly well. The shape it gives is round and pleasing.

Cons: Personally, I could do without the lace. I would rather have something more comfortable. The biggest issue I have with this bra is how wide set the straps are in the front. This causes the cups to gap when my shoulders are forward.

This bra's measurements have been altered
Altered straps, Straps were moved inward. Removed extra fabric from cup armpit area.

  9. Strangely, this one works so well for me. No back or armpit fat! The shape of the cups is a little bit strange though and I can't really define why. Maybe they're just a little tall and a little deep in the middle which is why they don't really lift me much. But this thing is sooooooo pretty. I expected it to be very uncomfortable but it's not. As you probably know, Gossard's bands run very tight (I usually wear a 30 and this feels great), so consider going up in the band. I would say the cups were bigger than expected, which actually turned out great. Altogether it's definitely a success and a big "wow!"
