For reference, I am petite (5'1") with slightly tuberous breasts that sag, are far apart from one another, and moderately shallow.
Balcony style bras are usually always a shape mis-match for me. Not only is the gore usually too high, but the cups usually gap up top. Because Gossard bras seem to fit a shallow shape best and they work well for me, I decided to try this bra and figured I could return it if it didn't work out.
She's a keeper though! I was really surprised that I was able to fill out the cups and that it was comfortable enough to wear all day long. I think the band on this Gossard style is stretchier than others because I haven't had it for that long and I'm already using the center hook.
I mean, I've kept this bra and I wear it occasionally. It's not like it's wildly uncomfortable. But it's a compromise until I get a few more Comexims and then it'll probably go (if you want it and you're in Australia let me know...)
The Good: 1) It's pretty. The colour is sort of a pale salmon? Like you know the colour it goes when it's cooked? That colour. The lace is glossy. 2) The wires are nice and narrow. 3) the lace at the top means there's a bit of wiggle room for being functionally FOT and also for hormonal changes (I'm weird and I shrink during shark ...week.) 3) For a 30 band, it runs pleasantly small. I can fasten it on the middle hook, which is unusual even in most 28s for me. 4) Despite the cup being too small and shallow on my big side, it stretches to fit ok, and it fits the small side. Forgiving on asymmetry. Them's the words I'm looking for.
The Bad: 1) The gore is way too wide for me. I'm going to try sewing the wire channels together at the top (the design means they aren't actually connected at the top. Only at the bottom.) 2) The lace is only attached at two points over the top of the soft lining, so it slides down and bunches in weird ways. Again this can probably be fixed by a bit of hand sewing, but maybe this is also a bit of shape incompatibility. 3) It feels flimsy on. It only has one row of hooks. I don't feel supported.
The Ugly: There aren't any true dealbreakers here for me, but the unsupported feeling can only get worse in cup sizes north of a 28E.
All in all, this one's a bit meh, but given the narrow wires and small 30 band on it, I'd be willing to give other Gossard bras a go. Read more 213 more words
Oh so nice! Kind of a vintage vibe, very sexy - both in style, cut and lace. Band is comfortably snug and firm, I feel supported, and I like the one-hook closure on the back. It's killing me that it's probably too big for me. Right after the scoop and swoop things were gorgeous, but after a few minutes it's clear I've got all kinds of places to go. Makes me sad! P.S. This colorway even sexier than the black! P.P.S. Clearly too small in a 30DD. I think the problem is that there's not enough projection where I need it.
-It's light as a feather but it's construction is stable enough for my D to DD. -It has only 1 hook (my only bra with one hook) -Having washed it handwarm it did not fade out at all even though it's black. Impressing! - The fabric has a certain glimmer which is simply beautiful. -Cute details everywhere. -Gives the right protection for my FoO pair
Simply nice! Thanks alexad for that swap a second (or third - I don't know) - time. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />
