Have been on the lookout for a supportive longline bra. Found Panache Cleo Breeze which I love BUT it is so painful to wear. This one is extreeeemely comfortable, soft but still sturdy and stable, no spillage between the cups or on top, which is often a problem for me. The long band is really comfortable and yet supportive. Gives a perfect round, lifted shape that stays all day. The lonline band flips over at front after a short while, but that is really not a problem. Not a big fan of the design, would like other colors and patterns but that is totally secondary. I have FOT, close-set, very projected, pendulous boobs.
This is a classic Freya shape so you should be able to get colorful ones. Just search for Freya padded longline and you’ll find plenty of good stuff.
This review makes me nostalgic for when I wore vertical seamed, half cup shaped bras, both longlines and regular bras. I love the perfectly round, uplifted profile. I actually really like the Summer Haze pattern. It reminds me of old European stone buildings.
I'll be more than happy to witness the return of longlines & all-in-ones.
They were widely available not so long ago and I still have of them in my fleet. Very hugging and well anchored on the body, won't budge.
Easily cope with bands running high or falling straps.
cupandahalf Wow is that so? I have Freya Deco but it tends to give me spillage, are most other Freya padded longlines closer to Summer Haze? Thank you so much :)
This is a Freya cut that they make every season or so in different fabrics. They have two padded longline shapes: this one, which is a half-cup (meaning vertical seams only), and a longline with a horizontal piece. You want to look for those vertical seams.
Also if you are fine with non-longline bras, Freya makes this shape in their regular bands too: look for their padded half cup and make sure all the seams are vertical.
I knew this wasn't going to work for me. I've got a Fancies balcony in 32H which I've ended up liking a lot more than I thought I would, but I'm still pretty salty that all the cute details of the Fancies line (keyhole gore, cage style band, ultra-sheer cups, a billion more color choices) stop at a G cup, so I figured I'd sister size into it to see what I was missing.
For only one hook, the band was surprisingly comfortable, and didn't ride up as much as I expected (I had it on the tightest hooks and it was still admittedly too loose). I love the ...design, and all the aforementioned details. I was surprised at how small in the cup this ended up being on me, I've got a lot of quadding and the gore is nowhere near tacking, The shape is round, though I'm not getting enough lift for my tastes (which might not be reflective of the bra itself since I'm so far off from my true size). I'm disappointed, though not surprised, that this is a pretty terrible fit for me. Read more 80 more words
I had no experience with Freya padded half cups, but I liked this print, so I took a chance and ordered it - though in theory this style shouldn't work for me, as I'm projected, narrow-rooted, centre-full and need a lot of depth at the wire, and I'd read that the Freya padded half cup styles are in general shallow and wide. This one seems...okay? on me.
Yes, the wires are too wide, there is empty space in the sides of the cups, the gore doesn't tack and the cup design pushes my breasts up rather than out. But it pushes my centre fullness up without quadding and gives some cleavage, while still giving decent support. I like the thin padding which shapes and uplifts my soft breast tissue, however, the shape at the front of the cup/apex seems a little flattened, not round or forward enough, which I find odd and unflattering. I do need to wear an extender for the band to feel comfortable around my ribcage until it stretches out.
Shape mismatch this time. Loose fabric at upper edge makes you think it's too large, but if the gore does not tack, you need more volume. The Gaia Vivien also needs more volume, but it's a better shape for you, looks like.
I have yet to find a Freya bra that works for my narrow, projected, even, centre-full shape. This bra is very deep at the apex and allows for the full length of my pendulous breasts to point out, so there is no quadboob. But there is too much room in the bottom of the cup, so not enough lift in the shape for me. I do like the narrow gore and the materials are sturdier than the other unlined freya I tried (Etched Esacpe), but this bra would suit breasts that have more bottom fullness than mine.
This bra isn't perfect but I really wanted it to fit. I only recently started exploring to try to find my real size, beyond the 42C's that I've been cramming myself into. The band fits very comfortably, feels secure and stays in place well. The cups are nice and light, the way I like in an unlined bra. It gives good lift and projection for me, and the under wire feels like a good width and height. The purple color is very pretty. The shape is fairly natural but the seam makes a ridge that shows through knit tops. The upper lace section of the cup gaps and wrinkles at the top, where my wide FOB boobs don't quite fill it out. Also, the edge of the wing digs into the front of my underarm so that it rubs and chafes. If I lengthen the straps it helps with the chafing problem but makes the gapping problem worse, as well as making the overall shape become too pointy.
This bra is so close to perfect. The underwire is just the right shape, the band fits securely but not too tight, and the gore tacks comfortably. The whole rest of the cup seems to fit well but the angle at the top is just a smidge too open and gaps slightly on my smaller boob.
Just bought this bra to test the waters after the first time measuring myself properly. Wire fit perfectly and there was no gapping or overflow/quad-boob. Band was pretty firm and I anticipate it will stretch out in time. I am not used to such a firm underwire. Overall felt very structured but not uncomfortable at all until about 13 hours of wear, after which I was a bit fatigued with the firm underwire and ready to remove it. It left some red marks which disappeared in around an hour.
This is almost a great fit for my average projection, but the cups are a touch too wide. I was going to try the smaller sister size, but after wearing around the house for a few hours I decided it didn't have enough support on the top of the cups.
Fits really well. Fabric could be softer. Lots of bouncing with small movements due to thin lace in the cups. Wearing on the tightest hook. Wires go under armpits but aren't uncomfortable.
My shape is narrow, even, projected with average-to-short roots, close-set with lots of upper-center fullness and soft, saggy breast tissue. This bra doesn't fit my shape, the wires are too wide and the cups are more like "boob-caps". I do like the modern lace style of the bra, though.
Incredibly comfortable, but not suitable for close set boobs. My boobs also quadded a lot after maybe an hour or use despite fitting inside after the scoop and swoop. The cup really didn't suit my boobs, I guess.
First of all, I got the wrong size. The back hook feels great, the straps are comfortable, the cup is nice and smooth (great for a tshirt bra). I generally don't like lined bras anymore since I stopped wearing VS bras. This bra definitely has more of a lift and shove together feel, probably mostly because the cup is the wrong size for me. I'll have to try a closer fit to my size (34H). If you like a lower cut shirt, this bra is definitely worth a try, especially if convertible straps are enticing as well. (Narrow shoulders, I'm talking to you)
When I initially purchased this bra a year or so ago I was a 36FF/G and this bra was still too small for me. The cup gave me major quad boob and the band ran small.
My projected breasts can fill this bra's "pointy" cup shape! Most bra cups are not deep enough at the apex and "push" my breast tissue back towards my chest, but this Freya bra has the depth. However, my breasts are kind of saggy and this bra's construction doesn't feel supportive enough for a G cup - there is lots of bounce and movement when I wear this bra. The material is thin and stretchy and the shoulder straps are elastic with a lot of stretch. This bra might work for someone with firm self-supporting breasts but feels a little flimsy for my soft pendulous breast tissue.
Another oddity about this bra (or an indicator of its flimsiness) is the twisting of the centre gore. The gore doesn't lie flat, and in fact twists off to one side.
I envy anyone who can wear bras like this.. they give me such a horrid pointy shape under clothes and doesn't make them look supported at all. comfortable though and pretty design
Ugh, not a good Freya style for me, and uncomfortable to wear. This bra has a lot of room in the sides of the cup below the strap, but I need room in the middle/ at the gore for my centre fullness. This bra cuts in at the middle, and the cups seem to splay my breasts. Also, the outer knit material feels soft and smooth, but the cup lining and band trim are a scratchy mesh which makes this bra feel uncomfortable to wear.
