I am in love with this bra!!! Freya, you have now won me over! I wasn't sure how this would fit because my thimble cottage half cup although probably my closest fitting bra of a similar style could use maybe just an extra half inch of fabric at the top of the cups. This bra solves that issue completely. The gore is slightly higher therefore the cups are slightly taller at the top as well and it works out beautifully. Gore sits flat and is comfortable. Traps are a perfect width and adjust nicely. Band is very comfortable on the largest hooks. Could probably go a bit tighter ...so hopefully it doesn't stretch out too quickly. Although freya calls these "padded" they are really more lined than padded but holy cow! For an unpadded bra, my cleavage looks amazing!! For the first time since losing weight and my upper fullness, I look like I have full, even, perky breasts!! This may be the best bra I iwn right now and a huge thank you to fellow user erispe! Not only was your advice excellent, the condition of your "gently used" bras exceeded my expectations! Everything I recieved from her looked brand new. So happy to have found this site. I decided to try a sister size with this bra from a 32E to a 30F, and it is a tad tighter than my other bras but the cups look fantastic. Just something to keep in mind during the rest of my review.
I was hesitant about the little ruffle at the band, but I ended up really liking it. Sometimes the bands can appear too tight, and this totally hides it (at least while you're shirtless). It doesn't show through clothing like I was afraid it might. I was also a bit worried about the weird fabric pairing on the cups, but it hasn't been an issue in ...anything so far.
It reaaaally lifted and gave my shallow girls great projection. It pulls them in and pushes them up fantastically. I have literally never had any roundness on the top of the breasts, but this bra does it. I love just playing with my boobs in this bra because of the lovely shape.
The fabric is very very soft. I wires might be a tad narrower than say my Cleo Juna (6461), but not enough that it is a big deal. As with the Freya Patsy Padded Half Cup Bra (1223) that I bought at the same time, I found the sides to be a little low and it couldn't hold all of the breast tissue under my armpit, even with crazy scooping and swooping. I don't mind, because it means I have a bra to wear with tank tops that have larger armholes. As far as I can tell, the escaped bit doesn't show under clothing, so I'm not worried.
If you are a G+ cup, if you lean forward, your boobs will tumble out of it--it is at least a cup size too small. And even if the bra was large enough, the physics of any "half-cup" bra is a non-starter at this boob size. (My size is ~34H). This may work well at an F cup.
This bra reminds me of something Daisy Mae from L'il Abner would wear as a top. At first glance it looks a little like a longline, but it's not. The green floral print is attached at the top of the cups, but flows loosely below in, giving the longline-ish look to it. It's very summery and cute. Sadly the cups aren't quite tall enough for me and I don't feel very secure in it.
Love this bra. Originally had it in 32FF but was too big in band so tried 30FF, too small in cups, finally found a decent fit with 30G. Because of the material it could even make a cute swimsuit. Have not tried this but it seems it would be cute, especially since the ruffle hide bra bulge
Bought this bra few years ago at Nordstrom rack in 32FF on clearance. Loved it but was always too big...at that point I didn't even know that bands came small than 32. Always hated "bra fat" if band was too small- didn't know about scoop and swoop and proper sizing. So ordered a few sizes online. The 30G fit almost perfect (need GG but not available).
